realized i should possibly make a pinned post at some point only 5 years into running this blog. i'm so good at bios

hi! my name is risk (but i'm fine with krisp), i'm 34 and white and use any pronouns but she. this is my deltarune sideblog; my main is at @birdnormal . you can also find me on Bluesky at birdnormal; a lot of my casual posting goes there now.

things you'll find here include my fics (check the krisp fic tag), my theories and ideas, various headcanons, and me just saying "kris dreemurr" repeatedly for some reason. i also reblog fanart i see and like, and sometimes i report on fandom news sporadically and badly.

i have a few general rules and guidelines under the cut, plus a sense of what you can expect here!

so let's get the big things out of the way. do not interact with me if:

you misgender any of the they/them users in utdr

you ship minors and adults, or ship family members (asriel and chara are family)

anything abt romantic attraction from players to the teen characters (or really any selfshipping but like. i'm 33.) this one isn't really problematic i just am the last person to go to for it

you'll note if you stick around that my general theory slant is towards kris being the most important character in deltarune and i tend to speculate in that direction. accordingly, i tend to think kris is the primary knight, kris is the narrator, and there is no third entity. this isn't really like stopping me from reconsidering (i now have weird music-based theories on chapter 2's fountain) just "what if it's chara" usually won't get much of a reply from me

i take player theory as the default and will post about it pretty regularly

i post a fair mix of angst and humor, especially kris-focused angst. i do tag all snowgrave related stuff with #snowgrave if that bothers you any!

Undertale/deltarune head canons because I'm keeping all my fandom shit here and I'm bored as hell

One off fact: Undertale and Deltarune bot take place in Minnesota, why? Because I said so

Undertale facts

1: frisk is infact not an orphan, but just a really kid who was on a hike with their parents and got sidetracked

2: frisk does eventually reunite with their parents while living with toriel, toriel (and maybe ashore idk) become frisk godparent(s)

3: Chara spirit is especially spiritually bonded with frisk, whatever pain frisk experience, Chara does as well, however dulled considering their a ghost,

4: frisk has done only the neutral and pacifist runs in my main au, they were going to do genocide but bailed out after killing papyrus from guilt

5: the "player" is just frisk intrusive thoughts, the curiosity in them essentially

6: sans is slightly more aware than others about timelines and shit but he can't tell when one happens, he just gets that same feeling of deja Vu if that makes sense

7: Sans is aroace (he's too lazy for love) Papyrus is pan, alphas and undyne are lesbians, toriel and asgore are both cis and straight allies, and frisk is agender non-binary

Deltarune facts

1: Kris is selectively mute, they only talk to people their close with (toriel, asgore, Asriel, etc..)

2: Susie is infact poor but she does have parents, they're just at their jobs a lot

3: Ralsei has abandonment issues due to the fact that he was alone for so long, he likes having people around him

4: Asriel is a English major, mostly because he has a very vivid imagination!

5: I ship Kris x berdly buts it's very much one sided (guess which side it is!!!!)

6: Kris is non binary and asexual, Susie is bisexual, Noelle is lesbian, berdly is gay (in very much fucking denial), ralsei is trans masc and gay

7: spamton and jevil are ex boyfriends<33333

Thankyou thankyou!!! They're the Vessel from the beginning of the Survey Program, and follow Kris around as a ghost narrating. Sort of the Chara to their Frisk, but with a lot more backseating

They don't control Kris, per say, like the player in canon Deltarune, but they do have more than just the power of being really annoying and can sway Kris without their input. Obviously, Kris isn't a big fan of being told what to do against their will and tends to fight back as much as they can.

They try not to be too annoying to Kris and stay in their lane as just an observer, but sometimes a choice comes up that they get entirely too excited about (like giving the plush to Berdly in Chapter 2, or giving affection to Ralsei) and end up accidentally forcing Kris to go along with them. They rarely notice when they do this, and Kris is unable to convey their lack of control to them, making their relationship very uneven.

In the Light World no one but Kris can see them, and they can't go very far from Kris on their own, where in the Dark World they can move at will and can even physically interact and be seen by everyone else, though Kris is still the only one who can hear them, so they tend to still stick pretty close to them.

They can also possess Kris to fully influence their choices and speech, though they only did so once and it was on complete accident. Kris described the experience as taking a Back Seat to their own life, fully conscious but unable to do anything. They've sense sworn to Kris to never do this again, it's the one thing Kris trusts them on.

I haven't yet decided if they're something that's always been with Kris, or if they're a new thing that appeared around the start of Chapter 1. That's probably a decision that'll change as we get more chapters and more information on Kris themselves

This Self Insert doesn't have any self ships attached to it, per say. The Vessel is very attached to Berdly and Ralsei but in a much more "Kris you should date these people" way, which makes Kris incredibly uncomfortable so they try to keep to themselves about it.

favorite thing about them - interestingly, i've been thinking about this question from a writing standpoint lately... i really love how much chara affects the story of undertale. they're narratively a ghost, haunting the whole story with their presence, from the hope that they brought to the monsters to their family's loving memories of them to their connection with frisk. i still think a lot about toriel and asgore remembering them to this day by overpouring water and soup, like that's the epitome of someone living on through people's hearts

least favorite thing about them - you know what! nothing! yes i understand they made a hug mistake in the past but like... it's been so long and everyone's talked about that to hell and back and my chara's been alive and happy for a while now, so i got nothing. except... kinda wish they explicitly spoke in pacifist so i wouldn't have to think about no mercy for their speech patterns

favorite line - * Still just you, Frisk.

brOTP - chara and frisk, chara and asriel, chara and frisk and asriel!

OTP - none!

nOTP - three billion gross ships with chara and i hate them all

random headcanon - to keep with the theme of your question, my chara's favorite chocolate is dark chocolate! they also like it when there's fruit in it

unpopular opinion - since this is somehow still unpopular in many circles... they're a good kid. that's it

favorite thing about them - oughhhhh the kris. i actually don't have much to say this time, i just think they're a good kid and i'm glad they're getting happier... and i want things between us and them to be good

least favorite thing about them - why are they yellow. again.

favorite line - i'm cycling through all the funny things they can say in ch2... moment that comes to mind is when they enthusiastically ask for a dog treat from noelle. i can't believe kris is pupy

brOTP - kris and susie!!! and kris and noelle and kris and ralsei but kris and susie is the big one

OTP - ok here is the deal. i don't say that this is an otp or anything, i'm not pushing a ship for kris, but i honestly think that One romantic subplot with kris would be cute. mostly this is just stemming from my thoughts on Teen Feelings in deltarune, but that's a ramble for another time. my point is... i kinda like Susie Has Two Hands. but like to be clear i just like the bond between kris and susie no matter which way it goes

nOTP - kris and like anyone else basically. i think kris/ralsei is weird, i don't think kris/noelle works out romantically, and i don't like kris/berdly

random headcanon - my kris is currently 22, working as a growing music producer/composer and living with susie and noelle! and they like milk chocolate, that's their fav. give them the Sweets

unpopular opinion - i'm in the "kris is the narrator" camp, which isn't unpopular per se but is debated as a theory. i don't really care about the specifics in narration tbh, i like this from a character perspective; basically i want to see kris's presence in the game, and i believe the narration is their thoughts. also i'm still staying optimistic about the kris and red business (i'd even go as far to say that i still like red soul frisk but that's not exactly a kris thing but it kinda is but it kinda isnt but)

Undertale The first character I first fell in love with: Asriel!! I’m a big fan of the “kid who gets superpowers and uses them just like a kid would” trope when done right. He’s still one of my favourite boss battles! The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Chara! They canonically appear what, once? In the no mercy route? So it doesn’t really make sense why I love them as much as I do...but I do. I’m a sucker for Narrator!Chara what can I say The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Mettaton. I don’t hate him, I’m just not crazy about him. The character I love that everyone else hates: Chara again! I think they’re more popular nowadays, but when I first got into the fandom they were still the eeeevil monster who forced Frisk to kill everyone. I always hated that :/ The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Toriel to a degree? I still like her, but after replaying Undertale recently and hearing her line about how she thinks Asgore should have just killed ONE child and then crossed the barrier to obtain the remaining human souls....yikes?? I get where she’s coming from, but unpopular opinion: She was VERY unfair to Asgore. Sure Toriel he’ll just cross the barrier like his children did, you know, the children that died.  The character I would totally smooch: Nappstablook because how could I NOT The character I’d want to be like: I don’t think I want to be like any of these people The character I’d slap: Asgore but gently A pairing that I love: Platonic Chara/Asriel! I don’t think I seriously ship anyone in Undertale tbh A pairing that I despise: PAPYTON. Sorry Papyton shippers I just find it hard to get on board with ships where the two characters never interact, and honestly I just don’t see what the appeal is. Also I’m a staunch believer in aromantic!Papyrus :]

Deltarune The first character I first fell in love with: Ralsei!!! He’s just so sweet and adorable while still being interesting, I want to know more about who he is and his relation to Asriel...and I want his plushie SO BAD The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: I absolutely detested Berdly when I first saw him, but now he’s one of my favourites. He’s just a funny little gamer man with transmasc swag The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Spamton. I like him plenty, but not enough to put up with the entire deltarune tag being overrun by him!!! The character I love that everyone else hates: Berdly!! I hate when people say he’s transphobic/homophobic when it’s canon that there’s nothing wrong with him he’s just annoying. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Aw man...Noelle. SUPER unpopular opinion: I don’t particularly care for Susie/Noelle. I almost feel like when Noelle is around Susie, everything she does becomes singularly about Susie and it kind of smothers the rest of her personality and relationships? I think I’ll like them more when/if Noelle becomes more confident around her so that their personalities can bounce off each other in a more fun and interesting way. The character I would totally smooch: Ralsei platonically :] The character I’d want to be like: I want the same vibes as Roulx Kaard even though I probably shouldn’t The character I’d slap: King I don’t CARE if your son is a squishy little pumpkin you cannot throw him off a roof A pairing that I love: Platonic Noelle/Berdly, I really want to see more of their friendship!! Berdly is kind of weird, but he obviously cares about Noelle a lot. A pairing that I despise: Kris X Ralsei is the BANE of my existence. It’s obvious that Ralsei has SOME relation to Asriel, Kris’ brother, so it makes me super uncomfortable when people say things like “Oh I hope Ralsei isn’t Kris’ brother so I can ship them!!!” its so gross.

I drew this drawing of Fem-Kris today, to be my new Tumblr Avatar and in a few days and or maybe like next month I will post this over at Deviantart, still taking some me time to just read, playing video games and excreta….

and even if this is suppose to be a Fem-Kris, I think I want to have this version of Kris be like how I feel…being half non-binary & half binary who so happens to still go by she/her pronouns….like being Female/Agender, maybe I could call myself Fem-Agender for short??

and well the name Kris is technically a unisex name, the name Chara isn’t though and it is 100% a female name but if any Chara from any AU were born male but was named Chara, I like to think of headcanon one of reasons why a Male Chara (even if in my headcanon I believe they are biologically female but could see themselves as Fem-Agender) hates humanity…

I mean I can understand if that version of Chara was mad at humans,  that is my headcanon for the Chara’s that were born biologically male and could either still see themselves as such or see themselves as Agender or maybe like Male-Agender?  

and the reason why I chose Patience Soul to be placed in my Kris Avatar for tumblr is because it is my headcanon and theory about Deltarune….I believe that Kris’s true soul is patience and the reason why they appear blue in dark world is because their soul is reflecting out and the same can be said for Susie, I believe Susie’s Soul Trait is Perseverance and I guess if any purple fur or skin or scale or ghost monster were a different shade of purple they would become either a dark or light purple if they entered the dark world but still have to do with their perseverance shining through much like Kris, it doesn’t matter if your monster or human, I believe when either of those two races enters the dark world the trait they have will shine through with the new clothes change…

and even if some might not agree with this next headcanon theory

I believe that Ralsei is a liar, and I know that I’m not the only one who notice it and after watching Deltarune Doki Doki Forever on youtube, (it is really good) I can see that I really am not the only one who might see that Ralsei is hiding something and is a liar I mean why would he have the Delta-Rune at their place? even on the big door! suspicious….but thanks to that cute crossover, I now want to ship Kris x Berdly……….a part of me hopes that Ralsei is just being used and was tricked by the Knight but another part of me thinks that Ralsei knows very well what they are doing and is deliberately tricking Kris and Susie, and in a way Lancer later on….so I have two headcanon theories about Ralsei, that one they know what they are doing and they ain’t as sweet as they appear to be and the other is that they are sweet but just naive and they are being tricked by the knight…..I still don’t see the “Monster Kid” in Deltarune being like a counterpart of the one from Undertale, I can’t help but see the one in Kris’s class as being Monster Kid’s (well the one from Deltarune) Older sibling named Monster Teen, well I think Monster Kid & Monster Teen would be their nicknames…

I think the real Monster Kid is in Toriel’s class, since she teaches the much younger and smaller kids that I guess might be of both monster and human, even if we haven’t seen other humans in that Deltaville Town but it doesn’t mean they aren’t there maybe….

by the way I really want to change the light blue color of my background but I kind of forgot how to do it, I mean I tried searching in the Edit Appearance but so far No Go….I really want to change the color of the background on my side…if anyone can help with that by telling me what the name of it is and where it is that would be great……I would really appreciate it.

another headcanon I have that I think it is everyone else’s too that came to the same conclusion….I think Asgore is a Double Trait, and now that I think about it I think Sans (when fighting him in Geno-Run) he might be a double trait too because of how his eyes go from yellow and cyan/light blue.

plus after figuring it out I don’t think it is fair to place full blame on Asgore (or even Underswap-Toriel or any swap version) for what happen to the human children….after all it is partly Toriel (and any swap version from any AU) fault, I mean she just let’s Frisk walk out and not even trying to keep them after the fight or did the same with the other human children, and if any of  the past human children sneaked out then when she notices she should of I don’t know ran out of the dang Ruins to get them…..it doesn’t matter if your human or monster, you do NOT let a monster/human child out to dangers like what Frisk and the other human children had to go through….but even if Toriel has yet to admit it in the game that she is fully partly at fault, at least she does do something in the end (well the true ending anyway) and well I think if her children like either Frisk or Chara or Asriel, she would notice right away if any of them were going through a type of depression well I guess in most versions of Toriel in Fanon she would of notice too late…..but anyway I can’t help but think Kris is going through a type of depression even if they are being controlled by the Red Soul that no one they are taking the adventure with doesn’t put two and two together and see that it ain’t theirs and only Fans seem to pick this up….

I know everyone who is a fan of the new game

(which is NOT a prequel or sequel of Undertale, as Toby Fox said it is it’s own timeline  and AU)

have notice how Kris’s side of the room is and how their big bro’s side of the room is…..and I think….well I believe Kris has been hurting themselves,

and it might be possible that they got blamed by Asriel

(which I want to call them Doug and I believe their middle name is Douglas) 

but it might be possible over time he felt guilty and tried to form a bond with Kris but the damage had already been done, you can’t just make a damage like that go away so easy, I might have theories about why Kris seems so depressed (and I believe they are) but we wont fully know what is the cause until we see it in a future chapter of Deltarune, but I think it could be because of how they are bullied, how Asriel (Doug) use to bully them, and how their parents split up and how Toriel can’t see that Kris is in pain.

I can’t help but see Kris as a kindred spirit, well them and Chara 

 I mean Chara gets misunderstood and I feel sorry for them being made the scapegoat, plus truth be told….if there weren’t good people in this world and I didn’t have friends that I speak with online….I might of ended up hating humanity too, I do have a love for chocolate too but maybe Chara loves it more than me lol….

I still think Sans might be a twin, and his twin might be a girl who dresses like him I even did drawings of Sans and his twin wearing the same clothes but his twin is wearing black tights which could help to tell them apart….and FYI, Chara in the game (even if I had only seen it on video and never got that far) NEVER said to kill anyone and they even pointed out that we shouldn’t, but that misunderstanding of that wouldn’t of gave birth to the evil versions of Chara and the ones who are a tragic villain or anti-villain.

  and I really hope some fans agree with my theory about Kris’s true soul trait being patience.

anyway I didn’t mean for this to be so long and well I will post this drawing up either in a few days or next month over at Deviantart, plus I still want to see this drawing I did of Kris as Fem-Agender…

the term Fem-Agender would be the same for someone who was biologically born male

but feel they are and aren’t at the same time, which is someone who sees themselves as both half binary & half non-binary

I mean Gems from Steven Universe (but not Steven) are genderless but they all go by she/her (well for swap versions of them that look male go by he/him) 

plus now that I think about it I think Steven would fit as someone who could see himself as Male-Agender, some of his fusions either with Connie or Amethyst go by them/they pronouns, but I think his canon fusion with Pearl could maybe go by both them/they & him/he because of reasons…..who knew they would make such a fusion of Steven/Pearl so Awesome and Flamboyant

okay now I’m talking too much and making this even longer….anyway I’m reading fan fics right now, and again I would really appreciate the help with changing my background on here from a blue color to a different color…I think before I go back reading I think I will go play some Mass Effect, I think at the rate I’m going I think I’m becoming a Paragade, for some odd reason it makes me think of Tsundere….I really want to keep replying Mass Effect 1 enough so I wont have to choose between Jack and Miranda, I don’t want to do that if the options to keep both are closed…it is seriously the worse for me, it be like if there was a AU of Undertale/Mass Effect and I had to choose between Nice-Cream Guy & Muffet and if I choose to side over one over there other when the options to tell them both off or try to nicely reason to both of them is closed, ya know one of them will die just like Jack and Miranda, I want to try to build up both my renegade and paragon and now I know after watching a walkthrough on how to save both the geth and quarian and not pick one over the other, I can be more prepared so long as I save a certain character who will side with me in stopping the quarian attack on the geth, and make sure to turn Legion down first before deciding to help stop the quarian attack and do it in a neutral way, I do not want to mess things up again…I don’t like both outcomes for when I choose one over the other cause well it ain’t good, I still see the geth as victims of what the quarians did, but at least some quarians can see that they were wrong and were being dirty shisnos….

anyway I think after I beat Mass Effect 1 again with the same avatar, I might try to play through it again with the same avatar before I head to play Mass Effect 2 and 3, still have not beat Mass Effect 3 sadly….and besides playing Mass Effect, I want to play a few other of my video games too and then go back to reading.

I really liked Toriel/Sans back in the day, and still reblog it from time to time. They're losers and I think that's funny. Step-Dunkle Sans for the win

In that same vein Asgore/Gaster is so very *chefs kiss* Devoted Royal Scientist X The Depressed Lonely King. My god. What dreams are made of

Because of those two I got really attached to Asriel/Papyrus, just to continue the Goat/Skeleton thing??? fdkgjkdf Mostly tho Post Pacifist Flowey or Souless Asriel. I think they're cute. "I think I'm the evilest thing to ever live" 11 year old mentality X "I think I'm the greatest thing to ever live" 12 year old mentality (Papyrus is a grown-ass man though I am not infantalizing him)

ACTUALLY though Papyrus/Frisk was my OG Papyrus ship, while everyone else was all about Frans and Papyton, I was on the Stupid Little Guys train. I ADORE them. Frisk didn't want their Gender so they gave it to Papyrus

Does liking Alphys/Undyne even need to be stated at this point? It's like the default of Undertale shipping. They're cute. Good for them.

Alphys/Madds/Undyne is INCREDIBLY cute though I hope she gets pulled into the Alphyne polycule so badly she is their little meow meow

There was like a week of my life where I got super hard obsessed with Asgore/Mettaton spesifically because of one artist who drew the thottiest Mettaton with a Biggest little guy Asgore I'd ever seen and I'm still on that. Mettaton deserves to be a Sugar Baby to the King of Monsters

Chara/Asriel is extremely cute they are best friends they are siblings they are partners they kiss and snuggle and one day they'll rule the underground together and Chara is convinced they don't deserve Asriel

I think Asgore/Chara would be a very cute ship but there's probably no content for it. I just think on it sometimes.

Frisk/Chara Queerplatonic body sharers post game is very good to me. I've also seen an AU where Frisk gives up their soul for Asriel to come back and they share a body and I think the three of them should vibe like that.

Frisk/Monster Kid is always appreciated in this house we love Monster Kid content in this house

On that note I love you artists who make the briefly mentioned Suzy an Undertale version of DR's Susie and have her hang out with Frisk. They are buddies and I love them so much.

Deltarune Ships

Kris/Berdly is the only one that actually hard matters to me I love them I love them so much they are gaymers. Especially love it with Transfemme Berdly for no other reason than I love her my baby girl

Kris/Spamton is!!!! So good!!! I love Spamton a little freak an old man who's really weird about this teenager he just met he makes them so uncomfortable I think it's hysterical

Kris/Ralsei while we're on the train is incredibly cute and another instance of a Darkner being very Unnormal about Kris in a way that makes them uncomfortable. Ralsei infantalizes Kris while also putting them on such a high pedestal. Good uncomfy Yandere content

Another probably doesn't need to be said but I think Susie/Noelle is pretty alright. My opinion on it is very same as Alphyne it's fine it's canon gays and it's cute. No complaints from me

Lancer/Susie/Noelle though?? Incredible. Top tier. Susie will go nowhere without her little guy Lancer, and Noelle thinks he's cute as can be and incredibly silly. Is he involved romantically? Unclear but he sure is there

Roulxs Kaard/Spade King was very juicy back when we only had chapter one. The last bit of porn I witnessed before Tumblr fully closed it's doors was some nasty shit of the two of them. RIP the OP of that work they got hard banned four separate times.

Roulxs/Queen has sense filled the Roulxs Kaard malewife shaped hole in my heart however and it is so much funnier than whatever he and Spade King had going on. Queen talks about him like how we all talk about Spamton and I think that's glorious

Spamton/Addisons any Addison or all Addison I love Spam/Addi ships a lot because it can't be sweet they left Spamton homeless and alone in the streets. The good ol days only kinda ship.
