Hey there! Do you guys happen to know any fics where bucky thinks steve is dead? It doesn't matter if its au or not. I looked a bit through the temporary character death tag, but in most of those its steve who thinks bucky is dead. Anyways thanks for all the work you guys do!
Mission Incomplete* by gammadolphin (complete | 9,855 | M ) *no actual MCD ; suicide attempt
He does not understand. He completed his mission. The captain is dead. So why does it feel as though he has done something terrible, as though he has knocked the world off its axis? Why is the screaming in his head louder than ever?-AU where Bucky thinks he completes his mission on the riverbank and Hydra “rewards” him by giving his memories back. All of them.

I enjoyed the whole series; AngeliqueH created a world full of tenderness and Steve’s and Bucky’s love is palpable. Steve is depressed and her way to put it in words is very realistic; Bucky is disable and you just want to give him the whole world! #depressedSteve #disableBucky

Hi fellow fans. I’ve been leeching of this blog for a few months now. Its really great what you do here. So I want to ’“contribute”: I wanna rec Parts of Everything by ChasingRabbits. It’s a really great modern High School AU with well written Friendvengers. (Past) Rape/Noncon is a major topic though, so heed the tags! http://archiveofourown.org/works/5948500/chapters/17979331
thanks for the rec!
Parts of Everything by ChasingRabbits (past noncon)
After Steve Rogers moved across the country with his parents almost six years prior, Bucky Barnes starts his senior year of high school under the impression that they will never cross paths again.
Obviously, that is not what happens.
Steve has been looking forward to seeing Bucky again ever since he found out he was moving back to Brooklyn, only to realize that Bucky is not the same fun-loving rabble-rouser he left behind.
With Steve back and finding himself at the helm of a ragtag group of unlikely friends, maybe Bucky can find a place where he belongs once again.

AKA In which Steve and Bucky both figure out how to be a person again, and it still takes them over 130 years.

Hi! I'm kinda new to this blog so sorry if this has been asked before. Do you know of any fics (preferably completed and chartered) that deals with a depressed/suicidal Bucky and he pretty much has nothing to live for until he meets Steve. Steve tries to help him and Bucky is pretty much convinced he doesn't need anyone's help. But they end up falling for each other anyway. Thank you!

I know you get a lot of requests for depressed!steve, but what are you're favourite depressed Bucky fics?
Hoo boy. There are so many, it was hard to pick these
The Difference A Day Makes by twinagonies
In which Bucky lives the same day over and over again, and circling, circling, comes back to himself.
G.I. Joes and 2AM Diners by OhCaptainMyCaptain
They look nothing like what they used to. Time and life have completely changed them. But as they sit there in silence, eating two halves of one cupcake, letting Brooklyn remind there where they came from, and enjoying a sky full of stars… They are those same little boys, somewhere deep down. For just a second, you’d be able to see them again. And Bucky thinks to himself that maybe it’s little moments like these – fleeting as they may be – that remind him why life is still worth living.
War, Children (WIP) by Nonymos
After Bucky was released from the hospital, it only took him a couple of weeks to give up on himself. Difficult to believe in any kind of future when the simple act of staying alive was almost too big an effort.
Out the frosted window, across the street, there was a tiny homeless guy burrowing under an awning.
