So, about that “lichen”...

After probably ten years now of playing this game, I’ve never once reflected over the quests in Dino Valley where Professor Einstein asks MC to collect some lichen for the race flag poles. However, after taking a break from the game for about a month (maybe two, maybe three, I haven’t kept track of when I’ve been playing the game, only the updates that I’ve missed (*cough* rainbow horses *cough*)), I wanted to find out more exactly what this mysterious substance known as “lichen” is.

What I found on my brief trip through Google, though, wasn’t what I expected, and a small part of me is mildly grossed out from the thought.

Sorry, Google, what was that again? Could you please explain this to me as if I’m five years old? /ref

Okay, that—

So basically, what Einstein is asking us poor players to drag down from the freezing trees in the middle of buttass nowhere Dinosaur Valley, is literal fungus. My hands feel nasty. I will have to remind myself to take a thorough shower and make sure that Wizard gets a good, thorough clean once we’re back home in Tailtop Village.

Thank the lord for the existence of Soap. Aaaahhh

I hope you’ll be just as delighted as I now am upon the knowledge that MC have torn fungus down from freezing trees with their bare hands :)

I went on an adventure today,

I’ve played through all the story quests, but I’ve been wanting to check if I could go back through the middle junction place again. It gave me a lot of e-word (emotions) when I first visited it. Can’t really explain why. It’s such a small and simple area, yet it might just be my favorite.

After which I then went on to be a gremlin in Devil’s Gap and climbed the walls until falling down into the Pandoric Mirror

It was a great waste of my time! :)

I said I'd reblog, but I'm just posting instead

I've gotten my profile set up over on cohost, and I've transferred the more important drafts. I've been learning some text tools that seem really cool, and I might use that in future posts on there. Things like tables and dropdowns and stuff could be really useful for the horse database things I've been wanting to do for a while. Maybe now I can set that up in a way that looks neat *and* doesn't take up so much screen space at once

Hoping that someone will come along with me and start up a star stable tag system and presence! Would be cool to have our little area over there

I'm using the same name there as I do here, but I'm handing you a link today because I'm nice :)

I suppose that's all. I do have one post in my drafts that I might crosspost, but if things go neatly I might start posting only in cohost from here on out.

I hate accidentally posting drafts that are supposed to remain as drafts only because Tumblr is being dumb. I didn't change the settings in that draft, did I? I just wanted to update it but NOOOOO Tumblr decided to make the save button into a post button even if I hadn't changed the post draft settings

And now I have to delete that and remake the whole draft

I’ve been made aware of a website known as “cohost”. I don’t think I need to talk much more to get my point across, but I’ll be direct anyway,

I’m thinking about moving there.

Granted, I still have to try things out more, and I might crosspost to here while getting settled and all, but it seems like a very similar setup as what’s available here on Tumblr. Except, less ads and no “catered for you” stuff.

I also don’t know how Star Stable content would fare there, so there’s pros and cons. But I figured if I make a post about it, the likelyhood of one person following me there will increase, and one person is still one person.

I’ll reblog this once I’ve gotten my things set up properly. In the meantime, here’s a photo of a Halloween bug! :)

As for the blog, I’ve written a temporary title and description until I come up with something better. Might leave the theme as it is for now, since it’s not bad.

When it comes to photos, I’ll start editing those before posting, since I’ve realized that they lack any watermark and it’s too easy to just yoink stuff here on Tumblr. So from here on I’ll start watermarking stuff. Might also edit old posts to give those photos a watermark...

Lastly, when it comes to that horse list, it’s my blog in the end so I do what the frig I want. Which means I might spam one day when I have the confidence for it and everything ready. Then I’ll make an introduction post that will eventually be pinned because despite the blog url I actually enjoy organization.
