Jily Night Out

James and Lily aren’t allowed to go out now that they are in hiding

James hates this, Lily understands it and is the only reason why James stands by it

But one night even Lily gets sick of it, of the waiting, of the uncertainty. Their only job is to stay put, and to read the letters, hoping for the best

So it’s decided, while James takes a bath, Lily dresses little Harry and herself, and chooses her husband’s outfit for the night

Lily never realized how much she missed the excited sparkle in James’ eyes

As they walk out of the door, they know that the trip will be short, their leaving sets of an alarm, someone will come by to check on them soon enough

In a fit of laughter, the little family approaches the little old tree they always see from afar

With a small flick of their wand, the withered tree springs to life, its branches grow strong and tall, the leaves glow in a shining green

James wastes no time and starts to climb the tree, telling little Harry that his father is actually a descendant of King Kong

Lily was surprised he payed attention in movie night

Eventually, they see beaming lights wandering through their house, it was time to go back

“At least we will always be able to see the tree from our house Lils, as a reminder of what awaits us”

But later that night, the tree is cut down by the Aurors, apparently the gleaming leaves were a threat to their secret location

Little Harry cried as if he knew what was going on, what was at stake

“Why do we even hide James?”

“To keep living”

“We stopped living when we stopped fighting for it”

I am sure, and that is a 100% sure, that Harry has at least ONCE gifted Ginny for Valentines Day a pair of toads in the exact same color of his eyes
