Silence.

There was a low drone in your ear the moment you walked into your apartment, eyes sweeping left and right to find any source of noise. A slight rustle comes from the bathroom, and then the loud shake of a trash bag fills the room. It shakes once, twice, then three times more before you hear it nestle against the plastic can.

You sling your coat against the kitchen counter. Footsteps light as you listen to the quiet vibration of the electric toothbrush that’s made its return on your rack.

Turning your attention to the kitchen counter, you realize there’s two bowls, both filled to the brim with the same food, though you’re sure one of them has just the slightest bit more. There’s two drinks, one your favorite, the other his favorite.

The squeak of the bathroom door announces the person's exit; you remember that you have to oil the hinges soon, and you hear quiet shuffling headed for you.

Dark curls appear before a face, your lips instinctively turning upwards when you see the tufts of hair. “Oh.” The person says, mirroring the smile on your face. “Welcome home.”

His arms wrap around your shoulders, squeezing tightly before stepping back. A kiss to his cheek has it warming up within seconds, “You cleaned the house.” He hums, shoving you lightly when you kiss his cheek again. “Thank you.”

Changbin’s hands wrap around yours, pulling you closer to kiss your nose. “It’s the least I can do.” You hum. “I’d feel bad if I just rotted away while you were out working.”

“After all you’ve been up to? I’d rather you rot than lift a finger.” He deadpans, shaking his head at your words. “Well, Thank you for doing what you do.” You say, smiling when he nods. “And my work is easy, so don’t worry about wanting to slack off once in a while.”

“Easy?” He hums, pecking your lips and holding your hands up, suppressing a smile when you wiggle your fingers. “These are new bandaids.”

You shrug. Changbin rolls his eyes en suite. “So I get a paper cut here and there, nothing I can't handle.” He frowns, lacing his fingers with yours. “Next month, we should take a trip– if you can, I mean.”

“Schedules are pretty tight since the comeback is soon,” he says, thumbing the back of your hand. “Even with the one-week break, I just don’t know.”

You try to hide the disappointment that makes its way to your face and attempt to keep the sigh from spilling past your lips, “It’s okay.” but Changbin always sees through you.

“It’s not.”

“You know I understand-”

“I wish you didn’t have to.” He looks down, shaking his head as he tries to figure out how to reword it. “I wish you didn’t have to be so content with me leaving so much.”

There’s something about Changbin you’ll never quite understand. Why he hides his feelings, how he never lets the bottle holding his heart overflow, how he never breaks.

Before he could pull away, before he could hide, your arms wrapped around him in a way that made it impossible for him to escape. He wants to feel safe, but his mind tells him he doesn’t deserve that security and that he should run.

“I know you don’t like being vulnerable,” you start, loosening your arms when his shoulders tensed. “But I need you to know that it’s okay to talk to me because you listen to me. No matter what you want to talk about, I’m always– always going to listen to you, Changbin. You’ve done so much for me. Let me do the same for you.”

His shoulders relaxed with each sentence you spoke, and his fingers held your arm tightly, fearing the moment his grip slipped, you’d vanish from his side.

“I’m afraid.” He whispers, resting his head against your shoulder. “That when I’m away from you, you’ll be so lonely, and you’ll get tired of waiting for me.” When your hand reaches his face, he’s quick to catch it instead. He doesn’t want you to feel the tears trickling down.

“Can I tell you something?” He hums. “I do feel lonely when you leave. I can’t help it. But when you come home, though I’m not here when you do, it’s like you never left in the first place.” His tears have subsided, and his throat feels tight. “Like today, I came home, and you were here, and we greeted each other like you never left.”

Changbin lets himself pull away from you, accepting the hand that comes to hold his face. “That’s because you don’t like over-the-top things.”

“I don’t like them because you said you didn’t like them.” He huffs but nods his head when he realizes you’re right. “Should I meet you at the dorms next time? With balloons and stuff like that?” He laughs, “Would you like that?”

He hums, tilting his head up in thought. “It'd be funny, but I think I’d just want to be with you, no balloons, no interruptions, just me and you.”

Changbin sends you a soft smile, then leans to kiss you, pecking your lips thrice before brushing his nose against yours. He lets himself fall into your embrace when you pull him in, suppressing a smile when your lips press against his cheek.

His stamina matches yours during heat and he can freely fuck you stupid. Outside of your heat he always feels the need to hold himself back, as to not be too much for you, but during your heat, he takes what he needs and in turn gives you what you crave. I also apologize for switching POV/writing style in the middle of this but for some reason it felt better writing these two styles for the different reactions.

These four would find it adorable that their s/o was comfortable enough around them to just act however they wanted to. When around strangers (Y/n) would be more quiet, keeping close to their boyfriend, and anxious about meeting new people. However, when it was just (Y/n) and Chan/Binnie/Felix/Han or maybe the other boys around, (Y/n) would be loud and outgoing, feeling safe and comfortable in their presence. Chan/Binnie/Felix/Han all felt their hearts swell with pride and love as they knew they were a safe space for their s/o, just as (Y/n) was for them. 

Han related so much to how (Y/n) acts as they are quite similar personality-wise, so he understands why they sometimes don’t talk as they usually would if someone new is around or if there’s a large group of people. Though he loves that both he and (Y/n) can be outgoing and loud with each other, while it might be harder once the two are out alone as both are introverted, usually Han finds some courage in himself to be the more extroverted one but sometimes (Y/n) is the one to do that. No matter who is the more extroverted one, they both need the other to stand close by, holding their hand, so they don’t have to do it all on their own. 

Changbin loves to talk and do things, he’s not afraid to make a fool of himself so he loves it when (Y/n) can act silly with him, whenever they are out and (Y/n) goes into quiet introvert mode, Changbin is their number 1 protector, always observing their body language and the second he sees them being uncomfortable, he’s picking up his jacket, ready to leave. 

Felix might be an extrovert but many times he’s quite calm, compared to some others in his group, but with (Y/n) he always matches their energy, ready to be whatever they need. If (Y/n) needs him to be super energetic and bouncing off the walls with them, he’ll do it, if (Y/n) needs some quiet time just cuddling and watching a movie, he’s on the couch with open arms ready for a movie marathon. He loves the moments when they’re being silly and loud together but as physical touch and quality time is a big thing for him as well, he truly cherishes their quiet time. 

Chan is a combination of all three boys above, he is a man who will do everything he can to make sure his s/o is safe, comfortable, and happy, so if that means (Y/n) distracting him from work sometimes with random conversations or sudden exclamations, or him being the one to make every phone call for (Y/n), he doesn’t mind it. As long as he gets to be with you, he’s happy to do anything. 

Minho, Seungmin, Hyunjin, Jeongin

These four are wildcards, sometimes you can’t keep them quiet, and other times they’ll just be sitting in the chaos observing the world around them. So having a s/o that is similar to them but also often quite loud when it’s just the two of them or when they are around friends they feel safe with, is shocking at times. It’s easy to forget that your s/o is an introvert when they have been screaming song into the mic at the karaoke for the last 2 hours without a care in the world, but then they are reminded of the introvert they love as they are too shy to order a drink on their own. 

Minho thinks it’s kind of cute and fits well with him, he’s often laid back, preferring to observe the chaos rather than participate in it, a man who loves doing acts of service so ordering a drink for you is just the perfect way for him to show his love for you. Seungmin is similar to Minho when it comes to the acts of service, of course, he’ll sing a song with you, oh you wanna sing it in a silly way, of course, he’ll do that, you want an iced tea and you’re too scared to order it on your own, he’s on it, he’ll even throw in an order for a dessert for you. 

Hyunjin doesn’t understand where you find the energy to run around chasing Han throughout the dorm as you both laugh loudly, he isn’t even sure how this chase started but he will sit on the couch, smiling to himself as he sees the wide smile and the sparkle in your eyes, he loves seeing you like this, just living your best life, and then once you’ve calmed down a little, you go over to him, sitting down in his lap as he wraps his arms around, putting his chin on your shoulder, “Hey love, having fun?” “Yeah, how about you?” “I’m having a wonderful time watching you laugh and smile like this, wish I could paint it, you look so beautiful,”

Jeongin loves running around with his members, acting like a child, what he loves even more than that is when you join in on the playing. Running around playing with water guns, spraying each other, laughing, screaming, other people around on the beach only sigh and shake their heads at the nine young adults acting like 5-year-olds. “Want to go buy some ice cream?” He asks to try and get some alone time with you, “Of course!” The two of you walk away to the ice cream truck, you excitedly look at all the flavors, deciding on (flavor), and Jeongin decided on his own favorite flavor, you stand in line, but once it is time to order, you shyly looked at Jeongin who instantly understood that you wished for him to order for you which he happily does all the time.

Minho pushed off his blanket and walked to your room, "Cupcake? Are you awake?" he whispered, moving closer to your bed. A subtle smile etched his lips at the sight of you snuggling Dori, "Can you come out?" he whispered, seeing Dori squirm. You shifted your position and eventually released Dori from your clutches. Minho chuckled and pulled you onto his lap. You stirred awake, "Hhgh," you whined, nuzzling closer into his chest. Minho buried his face into your hair, "Hah," he sighed, nosing your hair and face. Hyunjin chuckled, lying next to you. He gently took Jiniret from your hold and gently set him aside, "You don't need him for now. Papa's here," he whispered, pulling you closer to his chest. You snuggled against his warmth, a soft smile etched on your lips. Hyunjin leaned forward and kissed your forehead, "No nightmare will ever come between us, love," he whispered, drifting off to sleep.

Han Jisung

"Sweetheart, please. I can do better I promise," he begged, tears streaming down his cheeks as he tossed and turned from his nightmare. A broken sob escaped his lips as he flinched awake, "Sweetheart," he sobbed, getting up from his bed and towards your crib in his room. You blinked at him, sleep coating your eyelids. Jisung carried you up and cradled your body close, "You're okay, sweetheart. Appa just had a bad dream," he whispered after hearing your distressed whimper. Jisung carried you back to his bed, "You're sleeping with Appa tonight," he whispered, placing pillows on your side of the bed just in case you accidentally rolled off. You suckled your pacifier and stared up at him. Jisung cooed, patting your tummy, "Appa woke you up, huh? Look at your pretty eyes," he whispered, stroking your cheek. You nuzzled his palm, a yawn muffled around your pacifier. "You're right, sweetheart. We should go back to sleep," he whispered, shifting you on him. You laid your cheek on his chest, sleep coaxing you deeper and deeper. Jisung kissed your hair, "Sweet dreams," he whispered, sleeping right after.

Lee Felix

"No, no, no," Felix grunted, his hair matted with sweat. He jolted upright, "Hah, hah," he gasped, tossing off his comforter. He looked around, "My sunshine. I need my sunshine," he whimpered, standing up with wobbling knees. Felix sniffled, using the walls as support as he made his way to your room. "Sunshine," he whispered, seeing you sleeping peacefully. You lifted your head, eyes shut closed. Felix chuckled wetly, "It's just me, sunshine. Mommy's here," he whispered, sitting by your face. You nuzzled against his waist, relaxed after knowing who came in. Felix smiled, kissing your ear, "Sunshine, can I ask you something?" he asked, gently rubbing your ear. You nodded, sleep still coating your mind. Felix exhaled shaking, "Am I a good Mommy to you, sunshine? Have I ever made you sad?" he gulped, remembering the words you said in his dream before you left. You shook your head and wiggled yourself onto his lap, "No. You're the best Mommy. My only Mommy," you whispered, placing his hand on your head. Felix smiled, soft tears dripping down his cheeks, "Thank you, sunshine. I love you so so much," he sniffled, stroking your cheeks. You wrapped your arms around his waist, "Love love, Mommy more," you giggled, nuzzling his torso.

Kim Seungmin

"You're mine, munchkin. You think you can just leave?" he grumbled, clenching his jaw in his sleep. Seungmin's eyes blew open, hurt and anger simmered within his chest. "Munchkin," he whispered, getting off his bed and making a beeline towards your room. Seungmin opened your door, and your soft snores sent an odd conflict within his chest. "It's just a dream. They're still here. It's just a damn dream," he grunted, trying not to project his anger towards you. "Dada, don't go," you sniffled in your sleep, tears slowly drenched your pillow. Seungmin felt his heart clench, "Oh, oh no. Dada's here, munchkin," he whispered, brushing your hair back. You melted into his touch, his presence itself made you feel safe. Seungmin smiled, "Little munchkin thought about me too," he cooed, wiping your tears. He chuckled softly and lay next to you, "You can't live without me as much as I can't live without you," he whispered, cuddling you close.

Yang Jeongin

"I'm sorry, angel. I didn't mean to wash Foxi.ny," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes as he stirred awake. The guilt clenched his heart. "I have to see my little," he slurred, getting up from his bed. Jeongin stumbled his way into the hallway. "My poor angel. I shouldn't have washed Foxi.ny," he mumbled, not realizing it was just a very vivid dream. He opened your door and beelined towards your bed. Jeongin cupped your face and sniffled, "Ninnin's sorry, angel," he whimpered, waking you up. "Huh?" you whispered, squinting at him. "I'm sorry for washing Foxi.ny," Jeongin repeated, the sleepy guilt overwhelming his brain. You nuzzled his palm, "Foxi.ny is right here," you said, holding the familiar skzoo. Jeongin tilted his head, "Oh," he whispered, wiping the snot dripping down his nose. You giggled, and wiped his nose with a tissue, "Ninnin, huggies?" you asked, wanting to go back to sleep. Jeongin blinked, "Okay, angel. Yeah. Huggies," he whispered, pulling you onto his chest. You burrowed into his hold, "Night night, Ninnin," you yawned, snuggling close.
