Three years ago this week I was in New Mexico riding and photographing the @cumbrestoltec. My hotel room was across the street from the station. Waking up to the sounds of a bustling steam powered rail yard is pretty strange in the context of the sounds of industry that I'm used to, but I'm sure it was much the same as it was 80+ years ago. I got up a few hours before the train was scheduled to depart and wandered the yard as the crews got the trains ready. . .
