I think I have a crippling addiction to changing my oc’s hair cause like why do I do different hair for an oc then go hold on let me just use this now I have so many oc sketch things where I keep my pre made assets eg hair so I don’t have to remember how to draw it over and over and there’s so much hair, not including my god oc’s(I will be posting set of them soon)

Cycling, a sport that inspires me

A love of cycling

I discovered my passion for bicycles when I was very young. Before getting on a motorbike, I had already tried it all on my bicycle. For me, it was as if my bicycle were a motorbike! I started riding motorbikes from a very young age, but at that time I thought that if it didn’t work out, I wanted to be a cyclist.

Now I only go cycling to stay in shape and enjoy myself. I love cycling up mountain passes and I get a kick out of beating my times whenever I do the same route again. I have to keep myself in check so that I don’t go overboard and get carried away. It’s not a good idea to go flat out every day. You have to be smart when training and know when to take a break for a few days. Even though I don’t cycle professionally, I take it seriously and get annoyed when I see that my times are off and when my pace is not as good as the last time.

Another thing I like about cycling is that you can adapt it to your own fitness level. For example, during winter I remove the outer chainring as I barely use it. When my legs feel stronger, I look for the best way to improve, adding the chainring or really upping my cadence.

The best part is cycling as a group. The time and distance fly by when you are in good company, and it is also a way of getting better quality training. I still enjoy the days that I cycle alone though as it’s a different approach; I have to look for motivation from within.

Bicycle collector

The bicycle itself plays a big role and I use a Pinarello Dogma F10 fitted with Shimano. The key to choosing a bicycle is to find one that fits just right, that weighs very little, and that has a high quality carbon frame, not forgetting about the look of the bike.

Years ago, I decided to start a collection of all of my bikes because of all the unforgettable memories and experiences I’ve had on them. Many of my sporting accomplishments have been achieved when using cycling for training. I have fond memories of those tough times that I faced, pedalling with all my strength on a steep climb.

I now have a wonderful collection of Pinarellos. It is a selection of bikes that represents the changing times and fashions and when you look at them all together, you can see the differences in technology and colours used over the years.

A passion for professional cycling

Purito was my favourite cyclist because of his explosive power, but now that he is retired, I have my eye on other Spanish cyclists, like Alejandro Valverde and Alberto Contador. I’m also looking forward to seeing who will be the next rising star to keep us entertained. In recent years, Froome, Quintana, Nibali and Alberto Contador are the cyclists we’ve seen competing for the big titles. So who knows who might surprise us this year.

If I had to choose my favourite cycling stage it would definitely be the Alps. I’ve had a great time cycling there myself and it’s the best area. The Dolomites stages are really tough and I’ve suffered cycling up those passes, but it feels amazing when you finally reach the top.

When watching cycling on TV, I prefer to watch the bigger tours. I tend to watch them more often, although it is easy to get hooked on the classics with the exciting shows they put on.

My experience cycling

I have taken part in a tour cycling race before, and I know that in this sport it’s difficult to position yourself, to know if the group got broken up, or if you’re at the front. That is why it’s vital to wear an earpiece because it helps a lot in this regard. There has been a lot of talk about whether using an earpiece disrupts the competition, but nobody can deny that it increases rivalry between the cyclists and makes for a better show.

I’ve sometimes thought about taking part in Paris-Roubaix, but when I consider how tough it is, it puts me off. My brother has cycled in it. He has told me what it’s like and to be honest, it looks way easier on TV than it is in real life. I don’t think it would be my favourite race if I ever did cycle in it.

Sitting in the chair beside his, her head resting on his shoulder and one arm wrapped around his middle, Senritsu played with Kurapikas fingers still laying on her knee. It was so early in the morning, that the sky outside the office was still the dirty grey of the city, splattered by streaks of colour from the buildings neonlights and the inside of the office was painted in shades of blue by the light of the laptop like by pale dye. This early in the morning, Senritsu had sit down with Kurapika with her seat shoved right next to his at the officedesk and her fingers playing with his. The coolness of the chains against her skin was so suddenly it was almost painful, like a blade cutting into her fingertips. She heard Kurpika tense up. "No." Senritsu said suddenly, even if her voice was quiet. Her thumb and forefinger closing around the chainring, as if she could actually hold on to it and the cool metal would not just vanish beneath her fingers as soon as Kurapika decided to do so: "...Its okay, keep them on, please." Her hold on his finger eased and carefully, as if he was made of glass, Senritsu ran her fingertips over the cool metal, the chains, the rings, the pattern etched into the steel that was not really steel because it technically was not even real, yet smelled like steel, felt like steel,was cold like steel. Eventually she lay her small hand on his, warming the from the metal cooled down skin. "What does the patterns on the rings mean?" her fingertips gently tapping along the cold metal sounded like silk against a blade: "You imagined them yourself, after all. So they do have a meaning for you, yes? Would you tell me,please?"

It was still very early in the morning and Kurapika was still working in his office, and as much as he was so focused on his laptop, her company was greatly appreciated. His hand rested casually on her knee, caressing her from time to time or scratching her leg softly as if his fingers were feathers, until she started playing with his fingers, then he stopped.

He was still very focused on his laptop, but when she shivered from the cold of the chains he was about to make them disappear, and before she knew it they would be gone. But she stopped him, or at least tried to stop him and finally Kurapika tore his eyes away from the screen to her at her soft request. His chains didn't disappear, but there was an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach as she started to run her fingers through them, through the rings. Not because it really bothered him, of course not, but he knew what she was trying to do and he didn't like it. He didn't want her to get used to something she hated, after all, no matter how much she got used to it, it wouldn't take away the feeling of hate. Just accept that you don't like something about me. That you hate it, even if it's my aura. The hunter didn't say those words, instead he just sighed at her question. "I know what you're trying to do, Senritsu, and I don't like it" Despite everything, his voice was soft and the next words came out as soft and low as a sweet secret.

"But if you want to know, I'll tell you. Let's start with the thumb" Kurapika touched her leg a couple of times with his thumb to draw attention to his fingers. "It's an S-shaped pattern, like the stem of the native flowers in Lukso, like the patterns on the trees." Kurapika spoke slowly, softly, allowing Senritsu to imagine it and touch the pattern as much as she wanted. "The index finger is a row of squares. I don't think I've ever told you this, but it was common for us to have picnics. We always did it, it was really usual. The squares are the tablecloths we spread in front of our houses" Kurapika's eyes fell on her, assessing her reaction, paying attention, before continuing. His voice became more melancholic as he spoke "The middle finger, this one I think is the most obvious, this pattern is the one we used to braid the hardest leaves and make baskets, bowls, even a lot of furniture with them. The ring finger, mh, the rhombus is actually a symbol you can find on our flag, also because of the rubies we used in our accessories and amulets and finally the pinky finger, this one is more a feeling than something really visible. They are all dots, random, like the feeling of grass tickling the sole of your foot. We didn't usually do that, in fact it was rare to see us without some piece of our attire, but, kids will always be kids and no one was going to stop us from running barefoot sometimes..."

There was a pause, a moment that Kurapika analyzed her gestures and reactions again, before letting out a somewhat heavy sigh "They are all happy little memories that I turned into patterns, touching them calms me and having them there always reminds me of who I do what I do for" That doesn't change the fact that one of the chains is made to restrict, and other to manipulate and/or kill, even if they were only meant for a particular group of people, even if my life is at stake every time I use them. That thought crossed Kurapika's mind in an instant but he didn't say it out loud, instead he just moved his hand away slowly, very slowly so that she wouldn't feel rejected.
