What is " chaharshanbehsoori "

( چارشنبه سرخی ) the wednesday that starts norooz ( iranian new year ) people usually jump over fires, specifically bonfires, to order to ‘cleanse’ them for the new year. In old zoroastrian cultures (which are still active today ex. my mamanjoon is), the fire represents cleansing and healing. Jumping over it means people could  purify themselves for the new year. there is a traditional poem that is also sung.

 i only have videos from 1393 norooz which are old so i wont link it you can google urself
