@rad-roche and @chadfallout76podcast gave me permission to animate her lovely art! This is for the upcoming VoiceAPalooza charity drive for the Alzheimer's Association, there will be a lot amazing voices, new and old, and I am personally hyped to sit down for another radio special!
I had a lot of time to theorize what this special might be about--I'm excited to see if I've hit the mark or strayed far from it ✪ ω ✪
A short breakdown of the process below~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usually I would share a timelapse with y'all but I forgot to press record :'D
I went back and made some gifs though that hopefully show what I did! It's pretty simple! I took Rad's art and copy-pasted all the parts I wanted to move, then painted under to try and match what would be exposed under that movement. Following that, I had fun adding jolts, smoke, and a little tween! The hardest part for me was nailing down the timing of the gun; that took some tries to make it look natural.

A comment from (chadfallout76) on Twitter just made me react
He talked about pride month which is like a zamboni cleaning up the injustice of [...] bibles quotes
My grandfather was the most fervent Catholic I ever knew. I myself have studied the Bible, the Koran and the bhagavad gita as well as the urantia cosmogony and some other works... and I have met many people of religions and I have listened to them speak to me from the top of their intelligence
My grandfather was illiterate, he was a lumberjack, he came from the bottom of the river and his general mentality revolved around the 1900s
But he taught me the bible and in this bible, the most important message is LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I LOVED YOU
DON’T JUDGE
DO NO HARM
ACCEPT OTHERS AS THEY ARE
RESPECT THEIR HISTORY
and... love your enemies
Love your enemies because they don’t love themselves to hate others
They are unable to turn a glance on their existence because it hurts them
And they turn this evil against others
I was 4 years old, my grandfather was mowing hay in the fields of a man who was said to be cruel, so I joined my grandfather and I asked him why he was doing this: because it has to be done
I asked him if he was paid for that and he said no
It puzzled me for a long time because it went against what my father taught me
Then the cruel man was on his deathbed. He had expropriated my grandparents a few years earlier and now my grandparents came to visit him in his poor state to bring him their support and love
And I was 12 years old, more perplexed than ever, because I hated that man who took advantage of my grandfather and hurt them so much...
When we went out, I was bubbling with rage and I asked my grandfather for an explanation
"Just remember the good."
And then I remembered...
I remembered the little plague I was going to ring at this man’s house because I wanted to play in the sand and he slowly took his keys and headed with his painful carcass to his barn and open the huge doors and light his huge golden cadillac and take it out and park it outside so I can play in a small hole between the broken boards where there was sand
And that memory said so much more than people said about that "cruel man"
Pride Month is a month of tolerance and understanding, a month where we leave behind everything we’ve been told, all the nasty tongues that have enter into our social mentality the stupid preconceptions about others
It’s a month to accept every human being for who he is, accept his journey, how he feels and just love him
Because he’s a human being
And no matter how he’s perceived...
He’s a human being
There should be only love between every human being, no matter the circumstances
My story had nothing to do with LGBTQ+, I just wanted to remind you that hate often comes from people saying
And that each person is unique
Every person is capable of the best
When we act towards others without pre-minding, we discover the best in them
And this is what I wish for all people who fight their own battles and suffer hatred and misunderstanding: just love and tolerance
Acceptance
I love you
Do love you
You’re capable of the best, no matter how well-meaning people judge you
And in the end, humanity will emerge in thousand colors from the rainbow if we only love each other without judgment
