UM SO YEAH HI THIS WON’T BE CALM NOR COHERENT PROBABLY BUT i’m sitting here bawling my eyes out because we got an ending i’m personally incredibly satisfied with and here’s why

first of all i’m so glad to see sukuna still smiling and peacefully coming to terms with his own situation despite everything, it’s so comforting to see him leave wearing the same smirk he wore and we saw & loved from the very start. i’m so incredibly glad we got a final insight into his mind and how it indeed tracks back to yuuji’s words.

yuuji did manage to reach sukuna and make him reconsider everything for the very first time. and if the peaceful expression he’s wearing is anything to go by, i think yuuji knows it too in his heart, even if sukuna ultimately left. let’s not forget their souls having lived side by side means they are bonded for good; he would have preferred to succeed in saving sukuna now, but i feel like he knows he went peacefully at least. sukuna might have declined yuuji’s offer, but it wasn’t out of pride nor a rational decision but a rooted insecurity and him thinking it was too late for it in this life and wether it was a personal reflection or an altruistic decision it’s still so bittersweet. but! he did listen and internalized those words because if there’s a next time he’ll consider it: a different, gentler path.

and the way it closes, oh my god. yuuji looking down at his hand and then up, smiling, sukuna’s hiding spot opening and the sunlight filtering in. someone give me a thousand tissues and a bottle of something strong

Hiya, thanks so much for making I Want To Be An Anime Girl! I've been binge reading it tonight (sleep whomst? 😅) and had to pause after reading Ch271+272 to send this in, that scene really hit me hard. Kinda wild coincidence, I have a younger + older sister and used to get dressed up in pink and have long hair when I was little, used to play toys a lot with my big sister too.

I had a good long cry after reading that part, lots to unpack there. I'm slowly coming out to my family, my friends and lil sis are supportive thankfully and I'm hoping maybe big sis and eventually parents can be too 🤞 These sorts of stories give me hope, y'know?

I'm also finding it really interesting to think about the journey of someone coming out in their teen/school years like Cheryl, big respect to peeps who navigate that! For me transitioning mid to late 20s feels like a different experience in a few ways.

this might be one of my all time favorite moments of them and sukuna isn’t even in it. the way yuuji jokes about it with others to derail the conversation and minimize both the usual Big Bad Scary Sukuna he’s been trying to rewrite & how much it actually meant to him to choose a final spot for kuna and then silently takes a moment to remember sukuna (can you believe this shit) i’m. 💔

a really funny detail from chapter 161 of the saiki k manga:

first thing to take note of is that saiki literally leaves the room without actually saying anything to his friends, as seen when they ask him where the hell he’s going. (if he’d spoken to them directly, they’d know he was “bringing proof.”)

as you know, when he teleports, saiki has to wait 3 minutes before he can do it again. when he takes his limiter off though, he can teleport consecutively without any cooldown time (ch271). 

here, saiki has teleported to at least five locations (yes, five, he only says ‘next’ after hes finished taking a picture which means the ‘next’ in the last panel is referencing to him teleporting to one more place). he might have even gone more judging from his photo collection:

so what does this mean? well, it means that saiki either:

(1) MULTIPLE TIMES took out his limiter device so he could teleport instantaneously, put it back in so he could take a photo, and then take it out again for teleportation purposes. JUST so he could fake a summer vacation that would stop his friends from trying to take him out to have fun. and bear in mind he usually only takes out his limiter when doing things like stopping volcanic eruptions or brainwashing the entire world. or,  

(2) he literally just walked out of his room without saying anything to his friends and shut the door on them before disappearing for at LEAST 15 minutes before returning. and no one comments on it either, which would imply that saiki abruptly walking out on them for short periods of time is just a normal occurrence they’re used to. 

so many tiny details are hysterically funny when you remember the limitations of saikis power i love this stupid manga
