in   her   honest   opinion,   the   ipad   screen   is   way   too   bright.   Faustus   has   never   been   exceptionally   fond   of   bright   things,   and   even   less   of   technology.   but   given   as   the   thing   she   closely   guards   is   quite   literally   made   of   technology,   she's   begrudgingly   taught   herself   how   to   use   it…   to   some   extent   anyway.   and   the   unfortunate   part   of   learning   how   technology   works   is   coming   to   the   realization   that   a   vast   majority   of   it   is   too   hard   to   see   when   the   sun   is   blasting   down   directly   in   your   face.

which   is   why   the   ipad   screen   is   way   too   damn   bright.

for   all   her   woes   and   laments,   however,   these   things   have   proven   time   and   time   again   to   be   exceptionally   useful,   especially   when   tracking   a   specific   machine   that   had   an   annoying   penchant   for   wandering   away.   the   ipad   represented   an   opportunity   to   save   time   by   simply   following   the   pattern   that   Solstice   left   behind   when   wandering   the   city.   and   as   she   watched   that   little   dot   meander   about,   she   decided   it   was   a   good   idea   to   stop   in   and   get   some   coffee   to   handle   the   oncoming   headache   she   was   going   to   have   once   she   had   to   go   out   and   grab   the   damn   machine.   knowing   how   stubborn   it   could   be.

but   first…   “   excuse   me,   are   you   familiar   with   the   things   called   ‘apps’   you   can   download   on   this?   ”   she   held   up   the   ipad   in   front   of   the   woman   she'd   stopped   to   talk   to.   “   i   need   to   find   a   couple   different   kinds   of   them   for   something…   ”
