Halloween Prompt for Kiara Otterly

“Oi, Keeks, look!” Kiara wasn’t surprised when she looked over and saw Jamie with a pair of medium sized pumpkins in front of his chest mimicking breasts. “Pumpkin boobies.”

“What are you twelve?” Kiara punctuated her words with a roll of her eyes.

When she made the decision to acquire pumpkins to make the entrance to her flat more festive, she planned on going alone. She hadn’t expected to find Jamie outside her flat with two cups of tea and two scones in hand though. The tea and scones seemed to serve their purpose as a peace offering well. After all, action’s sometimes spoke louder than words. Although the Mancunian had already apologized to her for his behavior the year prior earlier in the week, Kiara hadn’t necessarily believed Jamie was really attempting to turn over a new leaf until this morning. Nevertheless, she didn’t really know what had possessed her when she’d invited him to tagalong with her to the pumpkin patch she’d seen advertised on Instagram, but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t find his slight immaturity both amusing and endearing at the same time.

“You’re just jealous.”

“And what exactly am I jealous of, Tartt?” Kiara looked at him with a raised brow.

“That you didn’t think to make the joke yourself obviously. I’m fuckin’ hilarious.”

“You caught me, that’s definitely it. I suppose such an amazing joke should be documented then?” She knew she was feeding his ego a bit as she pulled her phone out of the back pocket of her jeans, and he definitely did not need any help in that department, but the joke was rather funny albeit a bit immature.

“Absolutely.” He said before sticking his tongue out and posing with the pumpkins for her to snap a picture which may or may not have gone on her Snapchat story.

“Alright, it’s been documented. Now I need to find the perfect pumpkins and those aren’t it.” She said as she shoved her phone back into her pocket and began walking towards the actual pumpkin patch. Everyone knew the best ones weren’t displayed out front. You really needed to search for them.

“Have you ever been kissed in a pumpkin patch?”

“What?” Kiara whipped her head around in surprise. The cheeky grin on his face was enough to tell her that he had gotten the reaction he wanted out of her.

She rolled her eyes and shoved his shoulder lightly. “Not that it’s any of your business, but no, I haven’t. I did go on a date with a guy I met at a haunted house once though.”

“Really? Now that’s a story I need to hear.”

“Back home, there’s this thing called Halloween Horror Nights that they do at Universal Studios and it’s like this big haunted house event. I used to go every year with my best friend Willow…”

I'm going to give you some Jules and Kiara interaction rn since I haven't finished writing the Jamiara scene for the Christmas episode yet...

“If you aren’t out the door in five seconds, I swear I’m going to lock you out of your own flat.” 

“I have a spare key under the flower pot.” The look Kiara gave her aunt was one few had ever been privy to. “Don’t give me that look. What kind of an aunt would I be if I abandoned my own niece on Christmas?”

“A spontaneous one with a lovely niece who is insisting that you go.” Kiara had spent just about every single Christmas in her twenty-two years on Earth with her aunt. This year was supposed to be no different, but Rebecca had texted her to task her with convincing Juliet to go with her and Ted to give gifts to underprivileged families throughout London. A wonderful and extremely thoughtful idea, but also a way to get Juliet to spend time with AFC Richmond’s manager outside of work. It was proving to entail far more convincing than Kiara could have ever anticipated though. But the redhead was determined, and once she set her mind on something, it was rather difficult to convince her otherwise. 

“Who’s going to watch The Holiday with you?” It was a tradition that the two Otterly women happened upon several years ago. It was also one that they had included Juliet’s late husband and Kiara’s uncle in for a few years before his passing. After opening presents, they would grab loads of blankets and pillows, and order Chinese takeout to accompany their viewing of Iris and Amanda’s ploy to overcome their romantic failures. 

“I had to watch it by myself a couple of years ago when we got that huge snow storm up at school.” Kiara pointed out. Of course, she’d had Willow with her, but that was besides the point. The look her aunt gave her proved that she still wasn’t convinced though. “Jules, I’ll be fine, I promise. Go enjoy yourself, I’m sure Ted and Rebecca could use an extra set of hands anyway.”

After a couple of beats of silence, Juliet finally sighed in defeat. “Alright, fine, I’ll go. But if you need anything, or you want me to come home, just text–” 

Kiara had stopped listening after her aunt said she would go as she grabbed the woman’s coat and purse along with the elf hat that was on the kitchen table. She placed the hat on her aunt’s head and handed her the coat and purse as she spoke, practically shoving Juliet out the door in the process. “I will, I promise. Have fun, give Ted and Rebecca my best!”

Oooo so I’ve spoken about this with @steveshcrringtons already and Jamie 100% starts to realize his feelings for Kiara after the Man City match at Wembley in season 2. After standing up against his father, he shows up at Kiara’s flat, and she can tell something is wrong instantly and just pulls him inside and throws the kettle on for tea despite the late hour and I’m genuinely so excited to write this scene 🥺

Tour ask game and Kiara!

So Kiara is a HUGE Swiftie so she definitely goes to the Eras tour, probably plans on just going with Keeley, Rebecca, and Jules but then Jamie is offended that she didn’t ask him, so he goes too xhxhx

She’s not as big of a fan of Harry, but I can also see her going to Love on Tour for funsies

So this answer is more complicated than you would think because the actually end up falling for each other when they match on Bantr (obviously not realizing who the other is since ya know the app is anonymous) but when Jamie returns to play for Richmond again in season 2, they also fall for each other after Jamie apologizes to Kiara for being a prick during season 1 and Kiara (to his surprise) accepts his apology and they become friends and open up to each other more
