17. Do they have a comfort food? Who makes it best?

Grace's comfort food is a good Thavnairian curry, the hotter the better. Her dad used to make it for her when he was alive and though Shay tries her best, she can't quite replicate it. Nor can Jaik, whose tastes run sweeter and who can't handle anything spicier than paprika. Fortunately, the proprietress of the meyhane is more than happy to have a big plate of curry made to order for her.

For Nyka, it's seafood. She loves the meals her sister makes with it, putting an Ala Mhigan twist on classic Lominsan seafood dishes.

Despite no longer being an au ra, Sam still loves his buuz. This is something that Jaik studied while the group visited the Steppe, so that he could make the perfect meal for his boyfriend when they returned to Eorzea.

Jaik himself is an absolute fiend for cookies. He says he makes them best but that probably has a bit to do with the act of cooking soothing him.

20. Is your character a bookworm?

Lyra, Hannah and Louisa are. Louisa literally used to fight with a book before she picked up the art of the sage in Sharlayan. Hannah is also a scholar (or tries to be despite being unable to use magic but her fairy casts her spells for her) and Lyra just likes to read. All three of them will not be removed from the library in Sharlayan except by force. Nyka can't read. Sam loves to read, he loves to get lost in a good fantasy novel.

8) How do they feel about the fame/infamy that comes with being a Warrior of Light/Darkness?

Nyka: She was a bit uncertain about it at first but by Stormblood, she was perfectly content to lap it up. She does wish that people would leave her alone when she's trying to fish though. They're scaring the fish away.

Josephine: She's never one to shy away from the spotlight. Though she never set out to be a warrior, much less a warrior of light, she does embrace that during Shadowbringers thanks to a certain someone informing her that she does have someone worth fighting for.

Grace: Oh she loves it. Just like her dad, she loves attention, and she's quite pleased that she's managed to fell gods with the help of the group of friends who found her in Kugane.

Shay: She's quite humble about the fame aspect but if someone tries to challenge her, she's quick to remind them that she is a warrior of light who has felled many a god.

Jaik: He's humble and says that he just wanted to help people. Which he did, and he does. He always has to stick up for the little guy and fight for what's right.

Sam: Thinks that he doesn't deserve it despite being there for everything. Growing up, he always heard that he would be the avatar of destruction, no better than one of the gods he later goes on to fight. So it's hard for him to accept praise of any kind, despite the best efforts of his friends.

Alin: He just got here but he thinks it's pretty cool. You get to see new places, meet new people, and get famous? Count him in! He really should have joined Jaik when he first set out.

Donne: It's just her job, nothing more. But if that fame and infamy makes her job easier? Well, that's just fine.

18) What is something they would never tell anyone? (a memory, a wish, anything)

Nyka: She'll never tell her friends that she's afraid of them all disappearing. Or that the reason she stays up fishing sometimes is because she can't sleep. Some people know, but not everyone.

Josephine: She was keeping her daughter Millie a secret until she found her during Werlyt. But she also won't tell how she always looks so good. That's her secret.

Grace: Her secret is that she joined the group of adventurers because she wanted to find her father. And she does in Radz-at-Han but she still doesn't tell anyone that he was her original goal.

Shay: She secretly wishes that she grew up in Ishgard with the other dragoons. She's always admired their fighting style.

Jaik: He will never share the super secret recipe for his cookies.

Sam: He won't share the details of his past on the Steppe. Nobody needs to know about that.

Alin: What really happened while Jaik was away adventuring and Alin was getting hopelessly lost looking for him.

Donne: Secretly has the biggest sweet tooth. Has absolutely not been distracted while on a mission by a really good smell coming from a nearby bakery.

Hannah: Though she's a Garlean, she's always harboured a burning desire to learn how to wield magic.

Louisa: Sometimes she makes her carbuncle big enough to ride on. This must be kept a secret because it's silly and irresponsible.

Nyka can talk about notorious marks and fishing for ages, do not get her started (or do).

Josephine is very interested in fashion in the various regions of Eorzea.

Hannah is magic magic magic (she's the Garlean though so rip her).

Jaik is very into the various cuisines of Eorzea, always learning new recipes everywhere he goes. He's just very into food.

2, 12, 17 and 18, lay 'em on me babey

Omg thank you I didn’t know I had an ask (thanks tumblr). I’ll just pick a few ocs for each one so we’re not here all day

2. Nyka would be a wild rose from the original meaning “Pleasure and pain” because she’s suffered so much in life but now she’s also got so much joy too. Josephine would be a carnation, meaning “mother’s love” because she is the only one of my wols with a child. Jaik would be a coreopsis since he’s a literal ball of sunshine and that means “always cheerful”. 

12. Sam would be the stars, Alin the sun, Louisa the moon because she’s always present even if she sometimes wanes from the story or comes back into it (though coming back into it in shb was not at all what she had planned, thanks Exarch).

17. Nyka’s leitmotif would involve a violin because the Radiant Finale animation does in fact have me by the throat but also because it can represent her deep sadness that she hides well (or thinks she does). Alin gives me airy flute vibes and Grace absolutely castanets and tambourines. Y’know, like the dnc sfx since she’s a dancer.

18. Alin would be the tower since he was quite literally plucked from his own life and sent to the First while the Exarch was trying to summon Jaik because they were very close when they were younger. Lyra would be the moon because she is just an anxious little baby. Jaik would be the sun because he just radiates warmth and positivity.
