How can I crack SSC CGL in first attempt ?

Hi ! Students

You can crack SSC CGL in your First Attempt if you follow following steps :

Firstly understand the syllabus and scheme of the examination.

Secondly have a look at previous years question papers and prepare a blue print of the pattern of the questions, weightage & importance of various sections in your examination.

Thirdly procure quality study materials which are available online and offline. For Mathematics - Quantitative Aptitude of RS Agrawal & Advanced Maths of Kiran Publication. For English - Book of Arihant publication (S. P. Bakshi) or of Lucent publication. Read newspaper The Hindu daily. For G. K. - N. C. E. R. T. Books of science and social science from class 6 to 10 and Lucent G. K., Read newspaper The Hindu daily. Read a monthly magazine Pratiyogita Darpan. For Reasoning - Go through R. S. Agrawal ‘s Verbal and Nonverbal Reasoning only those chapters which is in your syllabus. Although Practice of previous 10 years question papers of Reasoning is more than sufficient for the SSC CGL.

Fourthly prepare a study - schedule and try to adhere to it to the utmost extent with occasional adjustments. Suppose you have decided to study 8 hours daily then divide your efforts in this way. For Mathematics - 2 hours. For English - 2 hours. For Reasoning - 1 hour. For General knowledge - 1 hour. Newspaper reading - 1 hour. Magazine reading - 1 hour. If you follow this you can easily complete the syllabus of First Tier in 3 months.

Fifthly - Now change your study - schedule. Now solve previous years question papers at least 6 hours daily. When ever you face any problem take help from the solution. In rest 2 hours continue reading The Hindu and Pratiyogita Darpan in the similar way. In 2 months you can easily solve atleast 10 years question papers of Ssc Cgl, Ssc Chsl, Ssc mts& Cpo. Syllabus of all of them is same. Only difference is in hardness level. So more & more practice of these questions will increase your ability and confidence.

Prepare for the exam taking in view all the 3 or 4 tiers (for some posts there are 4 tiers) As you know there are only two subjects in 2nd tier which are Mathematics and English. Syllabus of first and second tier are similar. So continue with same study materials. Now you are free from G. K. & Reasoning. But continue reading The Hindu because in 3rd Tier of Descriptive English it will help you. It will help you in First, second & third tier too.

SSC’s three main exams

SSC ie Staff Selection Commission is a major recruitment body in Central Government Departments. It provides three major exams. CGL means Combined Graduate Level Exam . Through this, B and C grade officers are recruited in various ministries and departments. This exam takes place in four stages. Tier-1 and 2 exam is objective. Tier-3 is descriptive, it involves writing essays and letters. Tier-4 is a computer based skill test.
