Indian Government seeks four Grade I Stenographers for Publications Division.
The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, is inviting applications for the recruitment of four Stenographer Grade I positions in the Publications Division on a deputation basis. The positions are open to officers under the Central Government who meet the following eligibility criteria: holding an analogous post on a regular basis or having three years of service in the grade rendered after appointment on a regular basis, possessing a speed of 80 wpm in shorthand in English/Hindi and the regional language concerned. The vacancies are available in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Chennai.
The period of deputation for these positions should not exceed three years, and the maximum age limit for appointment on deputation is 56 years. The pay and allowances of the selected officers will be regulated according to the Department of Personnel & Training O.M: No.2/29/91-Estt. (Pay) Il dated 5th January 1994. Officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion and deputationists are not eligible for consideration for appointment.
Interested candidates must submit their applications in duplicate using the prescribed proforma (Annexure ‘A’). The applications should be sent through proper channels and reach the Deputy Director, Publications Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, within 45 days from the date of publication of the advertisement. The envelopes should be superscribed with ‘Application for Stenographer Grade I in DPD on deputation basis’. The applications should be accompanied by various documents and certificates attested by the Competent Authority, including a certificate that the particulars given by the applicants are correct, a certificate indicating no vigilance/disciplinary case pending/contemplated against the applicant, and attested copies of up-to-date APAR/CR dossiers of the applicant for the preceding 5 years.
Incomplete applications or those received after the due date of submission, as well as applications forwarded without complete and up-to-date character rolls, vigilance clearance, or APAR for the last 5 years, will not be entertained. In case a large number of candidates apply for the positions, they will be scrutinized by a Search-cum-Selection Committee, followed by a stenography test and interview if necessary. The decision of the Director General, DPD, will be final.
The application form includes a bio-data proforma with various sections to be filled out by the candidates. The form requires information such as name and address, date of birth, date of retirement under Central/State Government Rules, educational qualifications, details of employment in chronological order, nature of present employment, revised scale of pay, total emoluments per month, preferred place of posting, and additional information in support of suitability for the post. The form also includes a certificate section to be filled out by the employer, certifying the accuracy of the officer’s particulars, the absence of disciplinary proceedings and penalties, and the officer’s integrity.
