, Was lucky enough to see @SpaceyKacey’s @BardiaZeinali-directed “#StarCrossed” film yesterday evening at the last-minute at the only screening in #LA – which she sold out. The #VisualAlbum is aesthetically stunning, the music is heartbreakingly beautiful, and #KaceyMusgraves has never sounded or looked better! She shows off her acting chops in the movie and is rather good, too. @Libatique’s cinematography and all the visuals were remarkable. It also made me extra happy when I noticed it was filmed in various places I grew up in throughout the #GreaterLosAngeles area. Her raw, confessional lyrics on this record remind me of the brutally honest candor @GwenStefani is best-known for in her music; particularly the themes she touched on on her last studio album, “#ThisIsWhatTheTruthFeelsLike,” and, of course, on @NoDoubt’s breakthrough album, “#TragicKingdom.” Musgraves goes THERE on this record when it comes to articulating the falling apart of her marriage and you feel her pain; that of a woman who tried her best to make her marriage work until it all fell apart. However, if you were expecting another #CountryMusic record from Miss Musgraves, you can put your cowboy hat and boots down ‘cause you ain’t getting it on this one. The songs aren’t very upbeat, but this is undoubtedly a full-blown #pop album – and that ain’t a bad thing! You can hear her artistic growth on this @Tronian and @TheSilverSeas-produced and co-written album and, IMHO, it’s her best one yet.
