Type of Holiday Brit? - Lando Norris x Reader
Plot: You and Lando, try and book a holiday with something you both want to do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Okay, but you don’t understand” you groaned to Lando as you were scrolling through multiple different travel agents on your laptop.
Tui, Virgin, British Airways.
“I think i do underhand baby” Lando chuckles back, looking over your shoulder at the tab your currently scrolling through.
“Just because your the Impulsive type of Holiday Brit doesn’t mean we have to do just that” you say, closing your laptop lid, so it’s ajar the screen still lighting up the dimming room.
“Type of Holiday Brit? What on Earth do you mean?” He chuckles having no clue what you are going in about.
“There are four different types of holidayers in the UK!” You exclaim as if it’s common knowledge that Lando should know and it’s almost appalling that he doesn’t.
“Okay and what are the four types, talk me through them” he grins placing his phone down on the sofa which would get lost in the next five seconds and he’d complain about later in when he couldn’t find it, before placing his full attention on you.
“Well there’s type one which is the UK Enjoyers where they go to different places in the UK on holiday, whether that be like … CenterParks or a Caravan down in Dorset and don’t own a passport and have never been or thought of going outside the UK” you explain and Lando nods, trying to keep himself from smiling too much but hearing you speak like this he can’t help it.
“Right okay, yeah I’ve never ever done that” he nods guessing he isn’t that type.
“Yeah that’s because you’re a rich kid holidayer!” You exclaim only for him to cock his eyebrow in amusement.
“Sorry?” He laughs asking while crossing his arms.
“Okay, so rich kid is like the kids I was always really really jealous of because they would go anywhere. Even if that means staying in New York’s finest hotel that is a room only room while paying for all your food while you are there! Or they go caving in Vietnam over winter break before going skiing in Finland after clubbing in Bali with Martin Garrixs” you prod at him, making him playing hit your shoulder knowing your were right.
“Okay okay, so I have some cool holidays! But what’s the issue with them! Why don’t you want to go on the rich kid holidays” he laughs.
“Because I’m an All Inclusive Holidayer” you say as if it’s obvious.
“Right! Of course of course” Lando laughs again before waiting for your explanation.
“I was brought up being used to all inclusive holidays in Greece, Italy, Spain, and then sometimes we’d get to go somewhere real far like the Caribbean. Beach holidays purely for relaxing. And your holidays don’t seem very relaxing… you’re always and I mean always doing something on them. And I don’t know how you can’t just relax” you chuckle explaining why you love your little beachy holidays so much.
“Okay okay. And the last one?” He asks.
“You have the Re-occurrers. They have their set destination and just keep going back because it’s the in budget comfortable choice. Like they keep going back to Disney World, or Mallorca or New York because they know it, don’t get bored by it and it’s the safe option” you smile having it all sussed out.
“Mmmm I think i would find that rather boring, wouldn’t you? There’s so many places but you stick to the same one?! Crazy” he joins in, in an almost teasing voice.
“I know right, like my parents when we would go on holiday, they’d never take me to the same place twice so that I could see as much of the world as possible!” You exclaim not realising he is in fact mocking you.
“So what, you want to do an all inclusive holiday?” He asks pulling back open your laptop and looking at some of the destinations you had in the search bars.
“We’ll maybe not just all inclusive but I would like to see you relax a little. You know loud around a pool in a hot country with a cocktail by my side and some beachy music to go along with it. But then maybe afterwards we can go do rich kid travelling for the rest of the summer break? If you aren’t needed in Monaco or Woking?” You ask, looking over his expression.
“Mmmmm so how about we book a nice 2 week all inclusive holiday. We come back to the UK. We see family and friends for a little bit while I get some work stuff done, and then we can do my type of holiday and invite Max and Pietra with us?” He asks, and you make a thinking face for a second before a big grin spreads on your face and you nod excitedly.
“I love that plan! Let’s start looking at the all inclusive first, I definitely think we should upgrade our tickets wherever we go. I know you’d struggle in economy” you poke at him and he nods, not because of the comfort side, even though he will never complain in first class or on Max’a private jet but it’s more for security reasons than anything.
“So I was thinking that maybe we could look at going …” you start but Lando gets lost halfway through distracted by the way you look right now. Excitedly talking to him about holiday destinations, a new sparkle in your eye at the prospect of some uninterrupted time with Lando.
He loved your more than anything and would do just about anything to have this look that you’ve got right now constantly on your face.
“Oooo look this one looks good! In the Maldives and look Lan there’s even a little slide going into the sea” you grin looking at the fancy and expensive looking hut in the middle of the sea.
“And look at this! Underwater dining, have you ever eaten with a shark above you?” You ask excitedly making Lando laugh and cuddle into you as you skim through the pictures to get a better look.
Eventually Lando tells you not to jump the gun on the first one you see and to continue you’re search.
“Or this one in Antigua, woah look at the beach! ITS MASSIVE” you say as you point at the white sandy beach.
“It’s nice but I think the bathroom looks a little small, I prefer the one in the Maldives for sure! Onto the next” he grins.
“Oh look at this, it’s beautiful” you say looking at the location where the palm trees hang over the Villa and the pool looks like it’s been built into the beach itself.
“Now I like this one! Where is this?” He asks clicking the pen.
“Wait when did you get a pen and pad” you ask looking at him.
“Well we need to write down the ones we like right?” He says pinching your side making your squeal in high delight that he’s helping and getting involved and from the sensation of his pinch.
You turn round fully, focus completely off your laptop and now into your loving and doting boyfriend.
“I love you so much” you say looking into his eyes, and a sigh of pure happiness escapes him as you guys hold into eye contact. You lean in after a while placing a soft kiss of his lips, gripping to the back of his neck, playing with the loose curls at the base.
“I love you too baby, now, where was that last destination. The quicker we choose somewhere the quicker we can get to bed” he winks and you shake your head laughing before sitting back in his lap leaning against him re-opening your laptop lid showing the last location that there was.
“It was Mozambique, I’d never have thought of going somewhere this beautiful when i was younger” you smile.

CenterPark. Sonntags aus Nordhessen kommen. Im Auto kotzen. Wir waren jute. Selbstgestrickt.

That’s nice, zeg ik. We are nice people, is het zelfverzekerde antwoord.
Have you seen uh things on the ground, vraagt ze. They told us it is the right time to find uh things on the ground here.
Gefietste afstand: 87 km
Gefietste tijd: 6,5 uur

I did have fun watching everyone else do it though. Got dared a bit by the others but I didn’t bite. They can all join me on ski’s and see who’s the daredevil then, I did tell them this and they were pretty impressed by my 83km/h speed. There was a tiny path that led back up to the river, with going to the waterfalls we had go down a big stairs they build so it would be safe to go down, the pathway we took was just slowly uphill. It resembled the rainforests you see in Queensland a bit. It strongly reminded me of centerparks, it had the same sort of walkway build out of smooth stones with all kinds of trees and palm trees and such. Tom had said the day before we would see lots of spiders, unfortunately he wasn’t wrong. He kept pointing them out to everyone, so my if I-don’t-see-them-they-are-not-there tactic was not really working. My watch gave me a notification that my heart rate was higher as normal, yeah no shit with those monsters all around. I handed of my phone so I could get a picture because I’m not getting close to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When we were nearly back at the point we started, we were at the beginning of the river that turned into the waterfalls. People had build a swinging rope tied to a big tree to jump in. We had lots of fun watching Tom try to do all kind of stunts. There was also a massive watermonger at the edge, that was not scared of us at all. The last stop of the day was about a half hour away, so once again we all got in the bus without changing. Our last swimming spot was a massive lake that had also two waterfalls. We all got in and Tom asked if we wanted to swim to the waterfall, I jokingly said that unless we nicked a pool noodle from someone I was not doing that because I would most likely drown. Now I was fully joking and did not expect the woman behind me to say I could have hers. With the pool noodle I was so much more confident, because when I got tired halfway to the waterfall, as I knew I would, I could just float and catch my breath. At the waterfall there was a sort of hot tub rock situation you could climb into. So that’s what we did, I have to say I surprised the shit out of myself today. Here’s where my impulsiveness comes in handy because as soon as I got the pool noodle I started swimming not letting myself think about what I was doing. Never in a million years would I have believed you I would do this if you told me beforehand. I’m really not a strong swimmer so I was incredibly proud of myself for conquering fears and doing this. I knew that I would have regretted not doing this when I had the chance. When we got back to the shore we all took a group picture in front of the waterfalls. Since it was the last day of the tour there was no rush, so we left roughly an hour later as what was planned. It was a 2 hour drive back to Darwin, we stopped halfway to have some food and a drink together. Since all of us were different nationalities we joked earlier it would be fun to play music we loved, so the drive kinda turned into a big karaoke. It was so much fun all singing along or hearing songs from other countries. The father and son got dropped of at a hotel, but the rest of us stayed in hostels on Mitchell street, the two Italian girls were flying later that night to Melbourne so they had to keep themselves busy. We we all agreed to go for drinks, I basically checked myself in, made my bed and dropped of my bags and went to the bar we would meet at. It was the same bar I had a few drinks on Saturday so I knew where it was. We ended up having a great night and even though I was absolutely knackered we ended up staying untill 23:45. I was at my limit though and I really think I could have fallen asleep at the table. So after saying goodbye to everyone I made my way back to the hostel. Because it was so late, the parties at the hostel had died down too. They have a party every night untill 11pm, so my dorm was dark when I went inside. I had put my pyjamas on my bed before I left and good I did. I don’t think they would have been very happy with me if I started rummaging around in my suitcase.

2/7
Falling asleep was pretty easy last night, staying asleep proved difficult, woke up at 4am and couldn’t go back to sleep. Watching the sky grow lighter was magnificent though, and I still can’t get over how many stars there are here. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many
Tumblr media
At 6:30 most of us were up because we have to clean up the camp today. Also repack everything to go in the trailer again. Our group is pretty great, everyone helped and we got it done in no time. Tom wanted to leave around 8 so we were right on schedule untill the father and son somehow lost their passports. Who was sleeping in a swag could put their bags in an unused tent, somehow the bag their passports were in got misplaced. After 10 frantic minutes they were found and we could leave. We had a good distance to cover to get to Litchfield national park today, so the first 3 hours was just sitting and watching the landscape. Australia is still so weird to me that on a tiny two lane road in the middle of nowhere you can drive 130km/h. We can’t even do that on the highway in Belgium. Our first stop were gigantic cathedral termite mounds, they were absolutely massive. The ones we stopped at, the termites had died unfortunately. Probably by all the tourists stopping and looking at them and touching the hill. You could see they were starting to erode a bit but were still pretty magnificent. On the other side of the field were magnetic termite mounds, at least 100 of them, these are build pointing north-south and the backs facing east-west. Tom explained why they did it, but I honestly couldn’t repeat what he said. Today is a day of swimming so we didn’t spend too long a time at the termite mounds and continued to the first water dip of the day. It was buley rock hole, a rapid flowing stream that flowed down over smoothed out rocks, making it look like one big natural waterpark. It had lots of plunge pools and shallow rock pools where you could lounge and enjoy the sun. We took lunch with us to the water edge, expecting it to be fairly calm. Unfortunately because most people had a day off from Australia Day and most likely took an extra day, it was super busy. It was so beautiful, even all the people couldn’t spoil that. The group was hanging out in a deeper part of the stream, when Tom did a cannonball next to us. This was the start of all of us doing the same. It was pretty deep, when I jumped off my feet briefly touched the bottom. The climb on the rocks was a bit trickier than I thought it would be. I was being super careful so I would scrape off half my skin anywhere with climbing upwards. The jump was only like 2m but still, seeing as I really don’t like to swim all that much. Since my phone can go into the water, just like yesterday we did a mini photoshoot with it, so we al had pictures in the water. The water yesterday was pretty cold but this temperature was just perfect, because it’s so warm outside (today was 34) it made lounging in the water absolutely amazing. Tom suggested after a bit we would go to the next stop, since it wasn’t far no one got out of their bathers (look at me getting all Aussie) or got dressed at all, so we all got in the bus like that. Was pretty hilarious to sit on a bus in your bikini, was definitely a first for me. My shoes didn’t really help me in the river, since the rock was so smooth I had less grip as I would have had barefoot, but it made my life so much easier on the way back to the bus. The others had slippers or flip flops so they struggled a bit on the rocky path. It was only about a 10minute drive to the next place, the parking was seriously full. Even cars parked in areas that are designated for tour busses. Florence falls are two waterfalls that go into a massive lake, it was still busy but since this was actually very deep water most people were on the shallow ends. I followed one of the girls to the waterfall but soon realised that I wasn’t going to win against the current of the water. So when I spotted people standing on a massive rock in the middle of the lake that’s where I went. Everyone else soon joined me and we had fun watching people climb up on the rock wall and jumping off. Of course a few of our group did as well, now jumping off a 2 meter bolder is one thing, actually rock climbing to 5 meter holding a tree root as balance, is not for me thank you very much.

Über Berg und Tal
17.08.22

Thanks!
1. What were your summers like as a kid?
My siblings and I always went camping with the Scouts for two weeks. Some years my family went on holiday in so called Centerparks by Center Parcs Europe. We spent a lot of time in our garden, in outdoor pools and went to amusement parks or on short hikes. So I would say my summers as a kid were pretty cool.
4. What is your favorite book?
That is really hard. I would say "The Neverending Story" by Michael Ende or the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke. Or Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter books!
11. What song has the most relatable song lyrics to you?
Brother by Kodaline I think. I have a really close relationship with my siblings and this song beautifully describes the feeling of growing up together and then taking different paths but still caring so much for each other.
29. Can you describe your laugh?
It's just loud.
44. Do you have a favorite quote?
"We are all stories in the end, just make it a good one." from Doctor Who.

#slow At just ten miles per hour even the cycling is sedate and casual offering an opportunity to breathe deeply, see broadly, listen widely, and be presently. #centerparks #longleat #betweenthetrees #forest #woodland #trees #speed (at Centre Parks Longleat) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwKZyAgACXt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=lzk3e7jaa94b
