Reportedly designed by British diplomat Sir Mark Sykesin 1916 to restore national pride in the Arab world and fuel the Pan-Arab revolt against Colonialism (think ‘Lawrence of Arabia), the flag known as the ‘Pan-Arab Flag’, or ‘Flag of the Arab Revolt’ went on to influence the design of the national flags of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Somaliland, Libya and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. Sadly, in more recent times, a version of the flag has mutated to become the favoured banner of the antisemite. Under its colours, BDS and SJP footsoldiers hurl antisemitic abuse at Jewish students on University campuses across the United States. Jew Haters hold it aloft when spewing lies on the pavements outside Marks & Spencer stores in the UK. Celtic football supporters bait the opposition with it at Scottish football matches and, at the height of the British Labour Party’s antisemitic infestation under Jeremy Corbyn, it was handed out to thousands of supporters to be held aloft at the party’s Brighton Conference in a blatant attempt to antagonise and intimidate  the UK’s Jewish Community. Which reminds us of another flag that first appeared in Germany on the 30th of January 1933, the supposed intention of which was to instil a sense of ‘belonging and national pride’. It went on to become a symbol of hatred, bigotry, corruption and the worst spate of antisemitism the world has ever known.
