The world had changed during his sleep; the winds that greeted him seemed eager yet scolding at the same time, guiding him through the unfamiliar paths that had been carved into the earth during his absence. The trees that once had been mere saplings now grew tall above him, casting shadows over his form and forcing him to shelter his eyes from the sun as he squinted down past the lush bushes. 

He’d recognize that bright hair anywhere, surprise evident on his face as his hand rose in a cheery wave and his raspy, disused voice called out to the adeptus.

“Angel? Is that you?”

The blackness of his eyes faded away just like the deadly colored skin once his elixir lost its strength and he was left like a broken doll against the cliffs where he had an encounter with something he couldn’t explain. He had never seen it before. The description he was given made it sound like a Leshi, or perhaps a wraith, it was a very vague one. But since they were paying him a lot even when they had little answers, he decided to say yet. He regretted it now though. “Fuck...” Blood running down his leather armor.

There were times when even Huffman was forced to go on a small expedition to survey the area around Mondstadt. Although most of the danger of monsters had died down, they never knew how long it was before the Abyss Order was going to reorganize once again...hence why he was out here alone.

It was suppose to be a quick mission, but it had turned into something more dangerous. The knight had unfortunately stumbled upon his worst fear, hilichurls who threw slimes. Ah, just his luck. Slimes or hilichurls alone, sure Huffman could handle. But the combo...at least someone had fortunately stepped in to save him.

Eyes widened seeing how easily they were able to strike them down and dissuade them from continuing the fight. Ah, Lord Barbatos bless their soul. Truly the winds were looking out for him.

❝ Traveler...ah...ha...you okay? Any injuries?! ❞

He was out of breath as he made his way over. Already wiping his sword and sheathing it as he wanted his hands free should he find the stranger in need of aid. However, by the display of the other’s prowess...Huffman was sure that the other was unscathed.

It’s strange to fine someone close to his height, but he didn’t mind. only has to bend down just a little bit.

It’s only a broken bone. It’s nothing super serious, Chongyun could easily wrap the injury and call it good. Except, being down one hand now makes tending to their own injuries more difficult than he’d initially planned. At least they’re near the gates of Mondstadt, perhaps they could just ask one of the guards for help, or for the nearest doctor.

“Um, excuse me,” Chongyun calls out to a nearby person. The person looks almost dangerous, not someone Chongyun would want to upset upon first glance. Wearing a polite smile, he cradles his broken wrist. “Could I get some help please?”

Jaskier's gaze steeled for a moment, a rare look of seriousness passing over his face. The quip seemed to die on his lips before it could pass and he seemed to really think about what he wanted to say. The need to deflect bubbled so desperately towards the surface, but never broke. The weight of everything had been so much lately. "I don't deserve the way people treat me." He said finally, the words tumbling out fresh and frank. It wasn't pretty or poetic; it was just... sad.

Ciri was out on the training grounds, working with one of the dummies. She had taken one of the silver swords rather than one of the wooden ones that they had been getting her to use more of. She managed to eventually get the head off of one of the dummies and just smirked to herself slightly and stuck the sword in the ground as she whipped around.

Qrow smiled when Angel walked up. “Angel, I’d shake your hand but I’m carrying.” He said, lightly lifting the box. When he was able to set it down he’d shake Angel’s hand as he implied.

“Sorry about not even sending a text for all these years... I’m sure you know why, but yeah, sorry for not keeping up with an old friend. The cakes are for you-though I’m taking one.” Qrow teased him, picking one from the box. STRQ had a tradition to steal one pastry each, and he wasn’t about to break that even if Angel’d have three more than he used to. “From the look on the outside, seems like Solishart’s been in good hands. I’m guessing that’s in no small part because of you?” Flattery wasn’t why he came here, but Angel seemed to be doing a good job as far as Qrow was aware, why not give the guy an ego boost? Qrow’s expression dampened as he thought about his own recap.

“Taiyang... he didn’t turn to the bottle like I did, but he’s not the same man he used to be. Yang had to pick up some slack on that front, but her and Ruby have grown up.” Qrow raised his hands behind his head, his tone and expression relaxing.

“I’ll be visiting them a bit after I get back to Vale, though first I have a fight scheduled but unannounced. Your offer came just about the time I was ready to head back, so I told Ozpin I was gonna take longer to get back and took a detour to see a fellow Weaponsmith. That about wraps up my Recap, how’s the past decade treated you?”
