He’s sound asleep next to you, his hair sticking up in all different directions from a night of restless sleep and a spot of drool forming on the pillow beneath him. He’s quite a sight like this. It’s surreal to see him stop moving for more than a minute.

Your fingers brush over the tips of his hair, moving it to the side and his nose twitches just the slightest when your fingertips pass over his brow bone, the fleeting touch making him stir. You smile at the movements, a warmth sparking in your chest when Dick move’s closer to you, seeking your warmth beneath the cool sheets. You’d never known how you could possibly be so lucky to have him.

He stills, chest to chest with you and an arm trapped between you, the sound of his light snores fill the room. His lips are chapped slightly, you realize, when you brush your thumb over his cupid’s bow- you’d have to remind him to put on lip balm more often, especially if he was going to be flying through the city all night.

You’re too caught up in tracing his lips to realize that he’s woken up. He doesn’t stop you, finding the touch of your fingers calming, a grounding feeling to keep him here, suspended in his consciousness. His lips part, on the edge of saying a good morning, but you stop him, pressing your finger against his lips.

“Don’t talk, you have awful morning breath.”

He pouts, gently gripping your wrist and moves your hand away from his mouth, “Well, good morning to you too.”
