Celebrimbor Ex-Feanorian AU (2/4)

Part One

Finrod brings Celebrimbor to Doriath with him straight away, no contacting the Feanorians. They eventually find out he's there.

Celebrimbor makes friends with Luthien and Daeron. Luthien teaches him some songs.

They decide to stay in Doriath because Celebrimbor has friends.

Finrod goes on the Silmaril quest with Beren and leaves Celebrimbor in Doriath. When Luthien leaves, she tells him that she'll bring his father back.

Luthien and Beren return, missing a hand and Finrod. Celebrimbor is distraught. He helps to kill Carcharoth.

He advises Thingol about the dangers of the silmaril, since he saw what happened with Feanor. Thingol doesn't listen.

Celebrimbor leaves to stay with Beren and Luthien in Tol Galen. He doesn't fight the dwarves.

Celebrimbor guides Dior to Menegroth and stays by his side when he assumes the throne.

The Second Kinslaying happens. He ends up fighting Celegorm, who realizes that he's fighting his nephew and drops his weapon in shock.

Celegorm stops fighting him and says that Curufin told them he died during the First Kinslaying.

Celebrimbor tells him what Feanor ordered, and Celegorm goes off to confront Curufin and tell his brothers about their living nephew.

He dies before he gets to Caranthir, pierced by a legion of arrows.

Celebrimbor runs away after that, not wishing to see his father. He goes to Sirion and takes care of Elwing.

Here is a rough summary of a (very early) WIP that's slowly been cooking in the back of my brain, currently under the title: Cyberpunk Heist AU.

Feanor is ??? years free from exile, doing his best to keep himself and his ex-criminal family out of trouble. No inventions, no corporate takeovers, no meddling with cyberspace, and absolutely no stealing.

All of that goes out the window once he finds out that his grandson’s been kidnapped.

(Basically the Feanorians are an ex-crime family in a cyberpunk Valinor who have done their time and are trying to reform and then they find out that Celebrimbor has been kidnapped by Morgoth/Sauron and thus have to plan a heist to get him back.)

Celebrimbor Ex-Feanorian AU (4/4)

Parts One, Two, + Three

Celebrimbor wakes up in Rivendell. Elrond presses him back down into his bed when he tries to move. He has so many questions, but his throat is too dry to speak.

Elrond tells him that Maglor brought him to Rivendell, gave him to Glorfindel to take to Elrond, and vanished before Glorfindel could tell him to stay.

Definitely coincidentally, Sauron was defeating not long after. The orcs scattered when their leader was vanquished, and Gil-galad's forces were currently hunting them down.

Celebrimbor asks about the One Ring, and Elrond doesn't know what he's talking about. It wasn't found in the ruins of Ost-in-Edhil.

Celebrimbor realizes that Maglor must have it, or threw it into the nearest body of water, given his track record.

When he has recovered enough to be able to walk, he insists on accompanying Elrond to find Maglor. Who knows what someone could do with all that power? (He says to himself, denying the fact that he misses his uncle).

Elrond allows him to go searching with Erestor, Caranthir's son, when he's able to wield a sword. He needs to stay behind and defend Rivendell.

They find Maglor near the Bruinen, not bothering to hide his tracks. Daeron is with him, smiling when he sees Celebrimbor approach.

Celebrimbor hugs him, and then stares at Maglor for a good while. He hugs him as well, while Maglor rubs circles into his back and weeps.

Later on, Celebrimbor asks him if he has the ring. Maglor confirms that he does and says it should probably be destroyed.

Thus, the four of them set off toward Mordor, passing through Moria. They encounter perils along the way, but most of Sauron's forces are scattered and too busy fighting elves and men.

The ring is destroyed, and the four return to Rivendell. Celebrimbor spends time with his relatives and is never going to touch a ring again.

When he finally sails, Finrod is there to greet him. Celegorm has long since yelled at Curufin in the Halls and takes his nephew out on hunting trips. The sons of Feanor reclaim their long-lost nephew, and Curufin stays in the halls, waiting with his father.

Celebrimbor Ex-Feanorian AU (3/4)

Parts One + Two

The Third Kinslaying happens, and Celebrimbor is away visiting Gil-galad, Orodreth's son, at the time.

He rushes back to find ruin. The twins are gone, Elwing has been transformed, and the Ambarussa are laying dead by the river amidst a sea of bodies. He closes their eyes and buries them in the sand.

He stays with Gil-galad during the War of Wrath, fighting alongside him.

When two peredhel teens are brought to them, he's overjoyed. They greet him happily and tell him that Maglor misses him, and Maedhros too, when he's able to remember himself and his family. Maglor told the twins about their dead relative, and they inform him that he's not dead.

Elrond gives him a letter, addressed to him from Maglor. He puts it out of sight.

Many years later, after he's built Ost-in-Edhel, he finally opens it. Maglor talks about how sorry he is and how he and Maedhros would have done something if they had known, and that they loved Celebrimbor but it would be best safety-wise if they were not to see him.

Celebrimbor is betrayed the same way, in horrible agony. He wants to die, but isn't allowed to slip away.

Sauron attends to business elsewhere for one night, and Celebrimbor attempts to break free from either the chains or his body. He doesn't expect to hear soft singing and the sounds of chains being cut. His vision is blurry and he's barely clinging onto sanity, but he recognizes the voice that once sang him lullabies.

He lets Maglor hoist him into his arms and take him from Ost-in-Edhil, away from Sauron and his greatest regret.

Celebrimbor Ex-Feanorian, An AU (1/4)

From this post (Feanor and Curufin are very much NOT good dads in this AU)

Curufin is trans and married to Finrod. They have Celebrimbor, who has silver hair.

As Feanor grows more and more paranoid, their relationship frays.

Celebrimbor follows his family to Alqualonde after the silmarils are stolen, where Finrod has taken him a couple times.

He's nearly killed when a few of the Noldor mistake him as a Teler because of his silver hair. Curufin protects him.

After most of the fighting is over, Feanor finds the two of them. Celebrimbor is shaking, hiding behind a statue and clearly still scared to death.

Feanor orders Curufin to follow him, and leave Celebrimbor behind because he's too young and he has teleri blood, so he's not trustworthy. Which is so not a thing to say to a young child. Celebrimbor starts begging to come too.

Curufin sighs and gives him a dagger. He tells him to stab anything that moves and to find family elsewhere. He and Feanor head toward the ships, toward the others.

Celebrimbor sits on the dock and cries, long after they've taken the boats elsewhere.

The Arafinweans arrive, and Finrod finds him. Celebrimbor flings himself into Finrod's arms and Finrod holds him.

Finrod takes Celebrimbor back to the palace in Alqualonde, where the Arafinweans are, and Celebrimbor tells him what happened.

Finrod is furious. He tells Curufin that he'll break his bones and then breaks their marriage bond.

Finrod decides to go to Middle-earth, eager to explore and to rain terror down upon the Feanorians for abandoning Celebrimbor.
