In the rose gardens of Imladris, he had found a quiet spot, a little bench in the shade. There, he sat, with a book on his lap and a notebook and pencil beside him, full of notes and sketches. A pair of spectacles, rimmed in silver, balanced on his nose. Mablung closed his book and sat up straight.

“My apologies, am I in the way of your gardening?” He’d come to get out of the sun, but if he was in the way, he would happily move. “You have a lovely garden. You must put much dedication into it.”

He smiled and flexed an arm.

The dough was not particularly difficult to work with if one was used to work with the sticky kind of those, but Gil-galad tilted his head to inspect which kind of monstrosity Celebrían had created on this fine afternoon.

It could qualify as terrorism, and after huffing a laugh, the High King let out his customary eye-roll. When he'd let Celebrían join him for a relaxing afternoon in the palace kitchens as he baked, he hadn't expected that.

"The plan was to make cookies, not projectiles," he said with his best shit-eating grin. "There. Happy?"
