As much as she liked watching the lights she felt like she was buried in clothes. Thermal layers, sweater, jacket, gloves, all topped with a hat. It was better safe then sorry, especially lately. Gloved hands wrapped around the cups of cocoa she'd bought at a vendor she made her way back to her friend, offering him one. "Ok the snowy holidays are great but what do you say to being my partner in crime, we could escape for some fun in the sun. Could even stay with my family in DR"

Carleigha tugs her beanie down to protect her ears against the chill of the air. Even when she was traveling, she made it a point to come back home for Christmas to be with her family. Even if it meant braving the frigid temperatures and snow she loved spending the holidays with them. Her eyes lit up in curiosity at his response. "Really? Have they liked it? Please tell me they got to do all the fun snow things, snow angels, snow families in the front yard, ultimate snowball fights?" She rubs her hands together. "You know I haven't actually had a Christmas in the Caribbean. We have our traditions, the feast, Coquito is one of my favorite drinks, but I've yet to actually be in the Caribbean."
Kevin loved the holiday season, had ever since he was a kid. There was something special about Christmas time that brought out the best in people. Plus all of the traditions. Things had changed a bit after his brother's death and the season had lost some of its glamour, but there was still a spark there. Even if being an adult sometimes made it difficult to cultivate. "You know, my parents never saw snow 'til they moved to this country. So, technically Caribbean Christmas is in my blood. So, I guess I'd be traitorous to say no."

who: Kevin @ofwishfulthinking and Grayson @wtrmlnsgrskies
where: hospital room
Carleigha settled back against the pillow tightening the sweater her mom had brought around her. This place always had such a chill to it and over the years she'd grown a collection of chunky sweaters to battle it. She'd had one tucked in her bag too but she could tell it helped her ma to watch her slip into the one she brought. She was worried she would try and stay but Carly had managed to convince her that the overnight stay was just a formality to ensure she didn't have any side effects. Granted she was pretty sure the fact that Grayson had hardly left the room since she'd been brought in for recovery helped seal the deal.
Rubbing the spot on her chest, bandage hiding the newly implanted equipment. That's going to take some getting used to. Leaning forward she inched her fingers toward the book settled on the wheeled table next to her bed. Succeeding in only bumping it she cursed as it rolled further away. She was half in her mind to sneak out of the bed when the door opened and she quickly flopped back against the pillow. "I wasn't doing anything..."
