âWe are trying to show that the US is the easiest place to hide dirty money, which is a major problem not just in terms of national security, drug trafficking and kleptocratic corruption but also environmental crime,â said Ian Gary, the executive director of the Financial Accountability and Corporate Transparency (Fact) Coalition, which produced the report.
For the first time in 2021, the US came top in the world financial secrecy index released by the Tax Justice Networks, as a result of money laundering and gaps in its financial transparency laws.
The report identifies two principal flaws in the US regulation of financial flows from other countries: permissive rules on identification that allow the use of anonymous shell companies; and gaping holes in the anti-money-laundering framework that enable estate agents and refineries to accept payments without checking and disclosing the origin of funds.
Earlier this year, the IgarapÊ Institute estimated that environmental crime in the Amazon generated annual profits of between $110bn and $281bn, though it has been a relatively low priority for financial authorities in Latin America. Investigations by the Insight Crime website suggest the problem may be growing as links build between environmental crime, narco-trafficking and money-laundering networks in Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.
The Fact report urges the US to take more responsibility because it is the primary destination for illegal funds, followed by the UK and its crown dependencies such as the Cayman Islands.
Among its recommendations are for the US administration to establish anti-money-laundering obligations in the real estate market, to provide support for Amazon nations to improve financial oversight, and to implement the Corporate Transparency Act, which would establish a database of true âbeneficialâ owners of all companies. It also calls on the US Congress to pass the Forest Act, which would add illegal deforestation to the US money-laundering statute.
âThe US needs to step up,â Gary said. âOur report shows the importance of the US cleaning up its own financial secrecy house and the need to collaborate with law enforcement partners in the Amazon region to combat illegal financial flows ⌠for the US to have such financial secrecy is a problem for the whole world.â (continue reading)

Property Venture Areas of interest in the Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands, widely famous for their pristine beaches and vibrant culture, have increasingly become a sought-after destination for property investors seeking both luxury and returns on investment.
Here's a detailed look at some of the emerging hotspots on the Islands.
1. Grand Cayman's Seven Mile Beach
Seven Mile Beach, located on Grand Cayman, stands out as one of the premier investment areas in Cayman. Popular for its calming white shores and crystal-clear waters, this stretch offers a blend of luxury condominiums, beachfront estates, and upscale resorts.
Property values here have shown robust appreciation, making it a prime choice for investors wishing to capitalize on both rental income and property value growth.
2. East End's Peaceful Retreats
East End offers a more relaxed setting compared to bustling Seven Mile Beach. This area appeals to investors seeking exclusivity and natural beauty.Â
Oceanfront properties and secluded estates are prominent here, providing a rejuvenating space away from the island's busier areas. With ongoing infrastructure developments enhancing accessibility, East End is expected to grab the interest from investors looking for privacy and appreciation potential.
3. South Sound: Premier Investment Locale
South Sound, positioned near George Town, is emerging as a favored location for property investment. With its beautiful coastline and proximity to amenities, South Sound attracts both local and international buyers.Â
The area features a mix of waterfront homes and modern condominium complexes, offering a blend of residential charm and convenience. Investors eyeing steady rental income and long-term capital growth are increasingly drawn to South Sound's promising real estate market.
4. Cayman Brac's Nature Retreats
Cayman Brac, the lesser-known sister island, presents opportunities for investors seeking natural beauty and peace. This rugged island offers a variety of investment options, including ocean-view cottages, eco-friendly developments, and vacation rentals catering to adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts.Â
As infrastructure improves and eco-tourism gains traction, Cayman Brac is becoming a niche market for property investors looking beyond Grand Cayman.
To Sum Up
Buying a property in the Cayman Islands' real estate market highlights a mix of luxury, natural beauty, and strong investment potential. Of Two Minds Pt.05
Youâre Extremely Essential
06/10/2019
Pairing: Bucky x Reader x Steve     Word Count: 5,517
Masterpost     Warnings: smut, unprotected oral sex, angst, Steve in a red t-shirt
A/N: I was going to wait before posting this. I should also warn that I havenât gone back to edit so it might be messy. Forgive me. I am still waiting to clean out my forever tags so as of right now my forever tags are still closed. All that aside, I hope you enjoy this chapter. Itâs...a lot more smut than I intended but does touch on some very important things in between. I hope you like it! As always, if you happen to reblog, thanks so much for helping me spread my work. xoxo
You know what Buckyâs thinking.
The possessive wrap of his arm around your waist is obvious to you and will most likely be obvious to everyone else.
You donât feel guilty about having just had Bucky ravish you. Heâs your man. Your boyfriend for lack of a better word.
The two of you walk into the common room and climb the two steps up to the conference tables. The meeting has already started, and Nat is already busy presenting her findings on Aaron, your Cayman Islands mark.
Wanda, Vision, Rhodey, Sam, and Bruce sit around the table. Each one looks over a small thin packet of pages with photos and batches of paragraphs with information.
Standing by the monitor Nat glances at you and Bucky as you join the group then gives her attention back to the screen. Standing against the railing at the head of the tableâopposite Natâwith his hands shoved into his pockets, Tony stares at the monitor, frowning.
Closest to the two of you as you step up to the table is Steve. Heâs standing tall, changed out of his sleep shirt and into a bright primary red t-shirt. It clings to his angular shoulders and narrow waist, a delicious sight though one that comes with a small ache as you search his storm blue eyes for any sign of pain. Resentment maybe?
You remember Bucky covering your mouth with his hand a few minutes ago while you were moaning beneath him and the way he silenced you with his lips. Steve would have been on his way down to the meeting then. Had he heard?
You can see the hard planes of his pecs, accentuated thanks to his large muscular arms cross across his chest.
As you sidle up beside him, Bucky taking his arm from around your waist to take hold of your hand, you notice Steveâs gaze drift over your head to meet Buckyâs.
A quick look at him lets you see the small grin in place. Itâs bragging but despite the look, Steve doesnât rise to the taunt. Instead he turns his gaze down on you to smile softly.
Heâs happy for you. For both of you.
It hurts.
You feel Buckyâs hand go slack around your own and you look back up at him to see the confusion on his face at Steveâs reaction then turns to listen to Nat.
Desperately you want to reach over and take Steveâs hand too. You want to hold it in and show the room that this man is also your man. You love him and he loves you and heâs yours and youâre his but Bucky isnât comfortable with that yet so you canât.
âWe know theyâre coming out of Ecuador. We donât know the precise location of the facility, but weâve got S.H.I.E.L.D. agents down surveying possible sites. As soon as we hear from them, weâll head out.â Nat explains. She clicks to the next slide and you watch as your Hawaiin God, the mysterious Aaronâs face fills half the screen.
You release Buckyâs hand and wrap your arms around yourself, staring at the handsome face.
âAaron Keahi.â Nat states, looking over at you specifically. âYour Cayman mark. This guy is as shrouded in darkness, Y/N.â
âWhat do you mean?â Your interest piqued; you move closer to lean on the back of Samâs chair. He looks up at you then notices the two large super soldiers flanking you.
Both of them had moved up towards the table with you but stand about a foot behind you since youâre too close to the table for both of them to stand beside you.
âI mean, aside from the typical bad guy rap sheet we had on him when we sent you on that mission with Bucky a few months ago, we know nothing about him. Heâs got no history in real estate, investments, no school records or a comprehensive criminal record of any kind.â Nat states, clicking a button that states the money laundering, arms deals, and other smaller crimes usually out of Avengers jurisdiction.
âThen how was he on our radar?â You ask, suddenly suspicious.
âHonestly? I have no idea.â Nat admits. âI donât even know where that first mission came from.â
She looks at Tony who is deep in thought and frowning as he stares at the table. His eyes move from side to side, deep in thought as he thinks through what you know must be a hundred different scenarios all at once.
âDid we end up finding anything significant on that data drive I stole?â
âMore small-time stuff.â Wanda says, âNat dove pretty deep into the files and nothing important popped up. We forwarded the information to local authorities but nothing that warrants our immediate attention.â
âSo, what?â You ask, bewildered and frustrated. âWe were sent on a dead-end mission to-â
âDraw you out.â Sam says and everyone looks at him.
âNo.â Steve protests. âThatâs not possible.â
âWhy not?â Bucky asks, and you tense for a second.
The silence between them lasts only a split second too long before Steve replies.
âBecause I didnât even know I was sending Y/N on that mission with you until almost the day of. Nat backed out. If theyâre after anyone, theyâre after you or Nat. Not Y/N.â Steve nods.
Tony looks up to meet his eyes and they share a long look before they both look between Bucky and Nat who are also busy staring at each other in serious contemplation.
âWho would be after them?â Wanda asks.
âHydra?â Rhodey offers casually as if itâs the most obvious.
âHydraâs dead.â Bruce says.
âIs it?â Sam asks.
âHydra explains me.â Bucky says. âBut not Nat.â
âOld KGB operatives?â Vision offers. âMy research on the dark web has brought to light several factions that are still loyal to the old Soviet government and are highly focused and motivated in bringing back the old ways or so their manifesto states.â
âTheyâd have plenty of reason to want me dead.â Nat agrees.
âAnd I was quite the asset in my time with Hydra. I could see them wanting me back.â Bucky reasons.
Your desires for loving both Steve and Bucky give way to your fear and you hurry to his side to take his hand. He gives it a squeeze before he tucks you into his side, metal hand cool and reassuring on your suddenly furious and blazing skin.
âBuckyâŚâ
âWe wonât let them get him back, Y/N.â Steve reassures you. He moves over to stand closer, looking at Bucky as he speaks to you, however.
You look up to find him staring intently at his best friend.
âEven if they caught you, your programming has been gone for a long time, Buck. They wouldnât be able to use you.â Steve assures him.
âI know.â Bucky nods, relaxing under his friendâs gaze. âIâm not afraid of them.â
You see Steve frown as youâre turning to frown at Bucky too. The two of you are well aware how Hydra makes Bucky feel. Maybe it isnât completely fear, but itâs not bravery either. He submits to them. Not completely, but he still recognizes the authority there and itâs something you and Steve have discussed often.
âBucky-â You begin.
âI know what youâre going to say and trust me. Iâve been working on it. Iâm good.â He promises.
You look over at Steve and this time he is looking at you. He sighs then looks at Bucky one last time before he slips to stand behind the two of you.
You do it because you know itâs what he needs and honestly? You need it, too.
You reach back and feel a wave of warm comfort as Steveâs fingers intertwine with your own behind your back. He moves up to stand right behind you. Close enough to look natural but not close enough to look too intimate.
Bucky stiffens beside you, but he also doesnât let you go.
He meets your gaze and looks slightly surprised to find you looking up at him, worry etched across your face.
Heâs thinking. You can see the thoughts racing through his mind behind those startling steel blue and sometimes ice colored eyes. Heâs watching you take comfort in Steve. Heâs listening to Steve and you worry about him. Heâs very aware of the need you seem to have for Steveâs touch and the way your hand has tightened even more around his own hand.
Your love for him is pouring out of you in buckets but thereâs also a flow of that being diverted to the man behind you.
Bucky can see it and you can see him taking note of it. What you canât see is how he feels about it. Does he like that youâre still clinging to him, harder still because youâre so scared that someone is going to try and take you away from him? Does he not like that you need Steveâs physical support to get through these terrifying few minutes? Is he jealous?
âSo, whatâs the plan?â Sam asks, bringing everyone back down to reality.
You, Steve, and Bucky all switch your attentions to Tony who is still lost in thought.
âWe wait.â He says. âTheyâll find the drug den. We get in there and we use those two as bait.â
âWhat?!â You nearly shout.
âNo.â Steve says sternly.
âOkay.â Nat says.
âBring âem on.â Bucky says.
All of you speak at the same time and then all of you look at each other.
âBucky, no.â You growl.
âThey want me, theyâre gonna die trying to take me.â
âBuckyâŚâ You plead with him, releasing Steveâs hand so that you can turn to face Bucky.
âIâm not going to let them make me fear them again, Y/N. I wonât hide.â
âBut you donât have to throw yourself at them in hopes of drawing out their true intentions. Is this because of us? Is that why youâre suddenly so ready to be reckless?â You accuse him and he takes offense to it.
âThis has nothing to do with you.â He snaps. âThis is my fight, Y/N. Mine.â He pokes himself hard in the chest. âAnd if you canât support my decision maybe we need to take a step back.â
Your chest caves in and with a gasp you move around him and head back towards the stairs.
You know that heâs not responding to the truth of this new situation. Heâs responding to you needing Steve. To your need to hold onto him when the thought of losing Bucky becomes too much.
Space will help clear you mind. The anger you have for him in this moment will pass and you might be able to see past this attempt to push you away. Will he always do this?
Will he always put this distance between you when you canât help but cave to your impulse to turn to Steve?
The grounds around the compound make for a nice escape. You stay there for hours and Bucky doesnât come for you. Neither does Steve. Not until itâs late and the sky is dark. Thatâs when you hear footsteps.
You turn around, expecting to find Bucky finally stomping towards you, moody at you for staying out so long but instead you find Steve moving towards you with his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his jeans.
Tight denim, pale against the bright red of his t-shirt. Even in the dark the color makes his skin glow.
He stops just outside of the small circle of diffuse yellow light from the singular bulb that hangs under the wooden slat roof of the pier that extends out onto the lake.
For what feels like minutes, torturously slow minutes, the two of you stare at each other. You let your eyes bore into his for a bit before you bring them down to his chest and stare at the rising and falling muscles.
Because your mind is preoccupied, Steve doesnât speak. He lets you think, and you appreciate him knowing you so well. Youâre grateful that heâs your best friend. Youâve always taken your time to think things through but this decision of wanting both Steve and Bucky had been such an immediate decision.
You have never been so sure of anything in your entire life. You love Bucky but you love Steve too. You canât bear to keep this distance between you and Steve.
Standing across from him by a few feet, staring at each other in silence while wanting more is painful.
You feel the urge to run to him, throw your arms around his neck and give in to your desire to kiss him. You want his lips pressed against yours. You want to feel the thump of his hear against your chest. You want his large hands splayed out against your back, running down low on your waist until they can flick the bottom hem of your white t-shirt away until his skin is on yours.
You want him moaning and pressed against your body, burying you into his mattressâor yours, youâre not pickyâor hell, even into the wooden floor of this pier. The grass. Against that tree over there. You want Steve anywhere and everywhere.
His soft smiles. His warm comfort. Anything but the uncertainty of those storm blue eyes, still staring at you with unwavering confusion.
Youâre putting that expression on his beautiful face.
The soft tendrils of his hair sway in the breeze and you want to slip your fingers through it.
âHeâs going to tell me no.â You realize, speaking with so much confidence that it startles even you.
Steve nods slowly. âI know.â
âIâm going to have to leave, Steve. I-I canât pick. There is no choosing between you and Bucky. I love him so much. Iâll die without him. If anything happened to him, ever, if Hydra gets their hands on him-â
âThatâll never happen.â He assures you passionately. âI wonât let that happen. And you wonât have to leave, Y/N. Youâll stay here with Bucky. Iâll leave.â
âWhat?â The shock your body struggles through at the mere thought of the Avengers existing without Steve is too much. âDonât be stupid, Steve. The team needs you. Youâre essential. Captain America! It needs you a lot more than it needs me.â
âAnd Bucky needs you more than he needs me. Youâre extremely essential to his recovery.â Steve reasons. âI wonât be gone for good Iâll justâŚIâll get away so that I can get over this. You. Iâll still come back if Iâm needed.â
âI-â You should take this out. Heâs offering you a chance to move on, but can you?
It feels like Steve is in your very bones. It feels like if someone were to cut you, youâd bleed Steveâs blood, not yours because youâre one with him. Maybe not sexually yetâŚlisten to you. Yet.
âI donât want you to get over me, Steve. I need you. So much. Every day.â You confess. âI love him, Steve. So much but youâre my best friend. How do I make this go away? How do I stop loving you?â
Steve mirrors your pain, taking a step forward as his hands curl into fists.
âYou were everything that I wanted for so long. I thought you-this is what you wanted. Us always standing at a distance. I thought that there was no possibility that you could ever want me, and you did? The entire time?â The pain in your chest brings tears to your eyes. Angry tears because this could have all been avoided in some ways if Steve had just told you he liked you earlier.
You could have told him too, but youâd dropped hints. Youâd talked about guys and waited to see his reaction when you went on dates. Every time Steve had smiled and wished you luck. Not once had he betrayed his neutrality to show a smidge of jealousy or want or love.
Somehow you know that if things were reversed, Steve would be easier to convince. Heâd have let you explore Bucky top to bottom and what it is that you two share.
âY/NâŚ?â Steve asks, careful to keep himself as far away from you as he can. He doesnât want to slip up like that night in Brazil. He doesnât want the guilt that comes from betraying his best friend.
You donât want to feel torn like this. You donât want to be unable to make up your mind. The thought of losing Buckyâof Hydra wanting him again tears your will to shreds because you need the reassurance.
You want to hold Bucky and ask him, plead with him, not to put himself in harmâs way on purpose but you know that you canât because heâd never listen. Itâll only make you angry and youâd wind up back out here by the lake, still needing comfort and to have your fears assuaged by soothing words.
Even if theyâre not true, you need to hear them.
âWould you just get the hell over here already?â You sob and Steve is at your side in two large steps.
He wraps you up in his arms, splayed out hands moving slowly up and down along your back. You cling to his chest, hands fisting his red shirt that reminds you of blood. Of pain. Of Hydra.
You bury your face into his chest and let your fear overwhelm you.
âYouâre shaking.â Steve realizes and holds you tighter.
âIâm so scared, Steve. I donât want him anywhere near this. I donât want him near them. Even if it isnât Hydra and itâs only a guess, I donât want him there. I want him safe and untouched and mine.â You growl the last word.
You realize that youâre fighting with Hydra for possession of Bucky. They want to erase him. Own him. Control him. You want him to be happy. You want him in your bed. You want him laughing and able to make up his own mind about what he wants for himself. Even if that means that he chooses he canât do this with you and Steve, you want him to have that freedom.
âWeâll keep him safe, hun. I promise.â
Your system freezes then short circuits. Sparks fly in every direction as your heart picks up speed. You look up at Steve, staring into his reassuring blues, so desperate to give you comfort and smiles.
âWhat did you just call me?â You ask him, stunned.
âHu-IâŚsorry. It just-â He stutters, blushing like youâve never seen him blush before. Youâve heard stories from Bucky about how useless Steve had been back in the day with girls. How heâd fumble and fidget and blush scarlet when his confidence waned.
You had no idea that when Bucky had described Steveâs embarrassment that he would look this damn adorable. This irresistible.
You push yourself up onto your toes and grip neck of his shirt and pull him down towards you.
The tiny moan that escapes you as your lips touch his is involuntary. The heat that courses through you as he puckers his lips back against yours is natural and unrelenting. He wraps his arms low on your waist and dips to lift you up, kissing you passionately as his tongue slides along your lips to coax your mouth open.
You moan again, just a whisper of it as you wrap your arms around his neck and give in to this feeling. He fits perfectly against you, like youâd always daydreamed he would. His mouth moves in perfect tandem with yours like youâd always hoped it would. His heart pounds in his chest, creating beautiful music as it pounds along with yours like you never knew it could.
He pulls back but only to let you catch your breath.
Gasping, you bring your hands to the back of his head and pull his lips back towards yours.
âNo.â He says, halting your tug. âWait. BuckyâŚâ
You huff, sliding your hand down to trace his plush bottom lip. Itâs so pink and inviting. You want to keep kissing him but BuckyâŚ
âHeâs gonna say no.â You whisper, taking hold of Steveâs ear with your other hand as you continue to trace his lip. âHeâs going to say no and Iâm never going to kiss you again and Iâll have to leave.â
Steve puts you down, anger flashing across his face. âI already told you, you arenât leaving.â
âI have to.â
âYou donât. Iâll go. You stay here with Bucky.â He orders, Captain voice used and all.
âExcuse me? You canât tell me what to do.â
âI can and I just did. Youâre staying.â
You scoff, the stern set of his jaw reminding you too much of Buckyâs as heâd declared the need to step back. To what? Take a break? Is that what heâd been trying to tell you at the meeting?
âFuck you.â You spit at Steve and make to move past him.
Youâre yanked back hard as Steve pulls you to him. At first you make to tear your hand out of his grip but then heâs pulling you up to kiss you and your heart is swelling and aching and burning and his lips feel so good.
You feel wooden slats on your back, and he twirls you out of the light into the shadows around the pierâs small dock. He pulls you onto the farther side, hidden in darkness then tugs at the front of your jeans.
Youâre both on autopilot, moving in frenzied gropes and tears as you each attack the otherâs clothes. Your pants sit open, unzipped and unbuttoned. Steveâs hand nestled in against your core, his fingers teasing your clit.
You gasp, open mouthed and hold tight to the sleeves of his shirt. Heâs pressed up against you, breathing heavily as he watches himself work your slit.
âNoâŚwaitâŚâ You cry, pulling him closer despite his words. âSteve, we-we canât.â
He moves his fingers faster, making you twitch and buck against his hand. The muted squelch of your juices as they flood around his fingers make it harder to pull away. You want him so badly. Youâve wanted him for years and now youâre so close to having him.
âI want youâŚâ He whispers, deep voice trembling against your ear.
He pulls back to look at you, staring into your sex-hazed eyes. âLet me taste you.â
You want to shake your head, to say no. To tell him that you canât because Bucky. Instead you nod.
It happens fast in shaky eager movements. Slightly rough in the frenzy. Steve slides his hand out of your underwear and pulls your pants down. He pulls your left foot out then slides your underwear down too.
Once your foot is free, he drops down to his knees. Your leg lift up at the knee and hooked on his shoulder, he presses his nose against the small hidden cove of your clit.
His heated breath makes your skin erupt into shivers, despite the warm night. The sound of cicadas and crickets is deafening despite your labored breathing. The muggy heat of the lake coats your skin in a thin sheen of sweat.
You bring your hands down, resting them against his wide shoulders. He leans forward, tongue first, and has a taste.
You shudder at the gentle lick to your nub, then bring your hand up to the back of his head.
He looks up at you, storm blues dark in the lack of light, and assess your reaction.
You bite your bottom lip, fingers massaging his scalp as you wait for his second lick.
Instead, when he brings his large hands under you and back behind you to pull you forward towards his face, he open his mouth and kisses your core. He tongues you, licking and lapping up at you as he maneuvers the slick folds of your cunt.
You cry out, surprised by the eagerness with which he eats you out. You know you shouldnât make so much noise, but you canât help it. You had no idea that Steve knew how to do this so well.
Youâd never seen him go out on a date much less bring a girl home. The very thought of him having done this to someone else fills you with such jealousy that you fist his hair and pull him against you harder.
He huffs a laugh but obeys and opens his mouth wider then closes it around your nub. He sucks hard making your knees buckle then pulls back to flick it wildly with his tongue.
Youâre not expecting him to tilt his head back, to look up at you with those blue eyes and when he meets your gaze the sight of him pressed against you is so salacious that your heart begins to pound harder.
You shouldnât be out here with Steve. You shouldnât be half naked with Steve. You shouldnât be hidden in the dark with Steve. You shouldnât be watching him eat your pussy and liking it so much that you flood more for him.
You stroke his hair, thrusting up towards his face with your hips as he closes his mouth around your nub again. This time he doesnât stop sucking and instead brings his right hand out from behind you. He uses it to find your entrance and without warning he plunges one finger within you.
You gasp but donât dare look way.
He inserts a second finger and your knees buckle again. You catch yourself on his shoulders and he doesnât spare you a second to recover before heâs thrusting those fingers into you hard and fast.
God you wish it was his cock.
He can see the desire in your eyes and since he canât give you that he releases your clit and presses the flat of his tongue against it as you thrust your hips against him. He flicks it and licks it and lets you face-fuck him while his fingers pump into you until you feel that familiar pressure build around your hips.
Your breathing grows ragged. Wild high-pitched gasping escaping your throat and Steve presses harder. Fingers you harder.
You grab his hair harder as your core explodes and Steve stills his fingers but keeps his tongue moving. Your orgasm washes over you in waves of euphoria until all youâre left is twitching against Steveâs face as he lick you up some more.
As your body relaxes and, slumping against the wooden slat wall, you caress Steveâs hair and face. The sight of him down there between your legs, wide shoulders hunched so that he might fit there with you, fills you with such bliss.
He comes up, a quick wipe to his mouth on the back of his hand but he licks the rest of you away, then meets you in a lazy and lusty kiss.
You can taste yourself on him. Woman and satisfied. Youâre so turned on by the flavor of you on his lips that you grind against his pelvis and he pulls back, stunned.
âNo.â He tells you.
âLet me make you feel good.â You plead.
âBuckyâŚâ He reminds you and you almost give in. You almost let him convince you but the fear of not being able to do this, ever tears your heart in two.
On one side you have Bucky, your loyalty to him is resolute, strong, unyielding. But youâre also mad at him for the stupid things he said this morning. Youâre angry at him for the way he so easily told you that if you canât handle his choices then maybe you should take a break?
The other side of your heart is full of Steve and Steve is giving you everything that you need right now. Reassurance, comfort, warmth, soft touches. You want to fuck him, but you know that you canât do that. As much as you want to. So instead you undo his jeans and reach in and find him rock hard.
Heâs so big and you want him.
âFuck.â You sigh, pulling him close so that you can rest your head against his shoulder as you pump him.
Steve grunts, sighs, and then falls forward into you. His hand moves the shoulder of your t-shirt aside to press soft tender kisses against your sweaty skin.
âI want you so much, Steve. I want you inside me.â You gasp, moving your hand faster along his cock.
âY/NâŚâ He moans, whisper quiet as he kisses up along your neck and then nibbles your ear.
âSteveâŚâ You reply, just as quiet. âLet me taste you.â
You repeat his words back to him and he pulls back. Once again, itâs a frenzy of movement. It happens so fast youâre not sure how you wound up squatting in front of him, his cockâs head pressed against your lips.
You lick it and Steve shudders.
âTh-that feels good.â He sighs.
You smile against him and then wrap your lips around him and circle his head with your tongue, tasting salty-soft skin. Heâs burning in your mouth and God, you want him inside you. Since you canât do that, you take him in quick and sudden.
He gasps, falling forward to press his hand against the slats of the wall. His free hand finds your hair and he slides his hand into it, caressing your skull with deep affection.
âOh, hun, that feels so good.â He whispers, almost hissing his words.
His reaction gives you pride, and you keep one hand held at the base of his cock while the other lands on his bum. You pull him forward then reach forward to grab his hip and pull him back.
He understands what you want, and he starts to move his hips on his own, fucking into your face while you slide your tongue along the base of his cock.
You canât speak with him inside you, but you hum around him, shifting your head left to right as you take him in long strides.
âShitâŚâ He mutters, as you reach down to cup his balls.
He slows down and thatâs not what you want so you move your neck, bobbing your head on him to take him faster. His cock hits the back of your throat and you swallow. He shudders and you suck harder. He grunts and you hum loudly, moaning around his thickness from the pleasure of his satisfaction.
âIâm gonna come, Y/N.â Steve whispers, hands fisted into your hair as you move fast, gulping and gasping around him.
You move faster, making your passes shorter but tighter, tongue tickling the skin of his head.
It catches you by surprise because youâre so used to Buckyâs tell, the way he grabs your head and holds you still when he comes but Steve is different. Steve thrusts into you, shoving himself into your mouth more as he shoots his release into your mouth.
You stop moving but swallow him, not wasting a single drop as he finishes.
âShitâŚâ He sighs. âIâm sorry, I-â
He pulls himself out of your mouth and you pump his cock a few times as he does, licking him clean as he goes.
âHolyâŚâ He begins but you smile at him as he falls out of your mouth.
You donât get to say anything because he wraps his hand around the back of your neck and pins you against the slat wall to kiss you.
The kiss is eager, happy, and then lazy as the lust dies out and satisfaction takes its place.
Without prompting, Steve helps you put your underwear back on and then helps with your jeans before doing up his own.
He leans over you, staring down at your sweet smiling face.
âWe have to convince him.â Steve says, and you laugh once.
It makes sense that heâd have a change of heart after what just happened but youâre just glad that you had the chance.
You want to be with him like this, forever. You want to love him openly, freely. Both of them. However, youâd seen it in Buckyâs eyes at the meeting. He canât share you. Or maybe heâs unwilling to. You donât blame him.
Your mood falls, taking with it your smile and Steve responds by cupping the sides of your face.
âWeâll convince him, Y/N.â You reach up to place your hands over his.
âI love you, Steve.â You whisper, lamenting the goodbye that will eventually come because you know it will.
âDonât do that. Donât tell me goodbye yet. We havenât even really tried to convince him.â Steve argues, pleading gently for your patience.
âJust tell me you love me, Steve.â You reach up behind him to trace the planes of his shoulders. So wide. So perfect. Yours in this moment if not forever. âI wanna hear you say it. Iâve waited so long to hear it.â
Steve sighs, wrapping his arms around your waist. âI love you. I love you, so much, Y/N. It kills me.â
Then he kisses you until you canât breathe.

Chapter 12: Sabotage
Masterlist: The Boss of Brooklyn A03 Story Link Author: @wordywarriorwrites Summary: When it comes to being The Boss, James Buchanan âJBâ Barnes rules with an iron fist. For him, thereâs no room for sentiment, and certainly no time for distraction, even if it is in the form of an old flame. Steve Rogers had bowed out of the life a long time ago, but a twist of fate brings him right back into the fold, and face-to-face with a man he once loved. When a game of cat and mouse turns into a matter of life and death, both will be forced to decide whether theyâll be loyal to the business, or faithful to each other. A/N: Bucky Barnes Mob Boss AU. Steve left before dawn with nothing but the clothes on his back and his dogeared passport.
When he hit the lobby, he expected to find it deserted, but instead, it was teeming with pissed-off guests. It was way too early for check-ins, which meant there was only a skeleton crew on hand to receive them, and the sole desk clerk was struggling to appease the mob and contain the situation. Â
The weary travelers were ripe for the picking and Steve took advantage of the chaos. By the time he stepped out of the hotel, heâd pilfered a suitcase, a backpack, and a dozen wallets. Given the situation, the doorman was overly polite and very Johnny-on-the-spot, and within seconds, he was in a taxi and on his way to the airport.
While the driver was focused on the road, Steve sorted through what heâd lifted; anything useful was put into the backpack or pocketed, and whatever remained was discarded in the suitcase. When the cabbie pulled up to the curb, Steve paid the fare, and disembarked. The airportâs entrance was bustling, and the throng of early-morning travelers were laden down with luggage, which made it all too easy for him to leave the stolen suitcase behind in the crowd.
Steve checked the departure schedule and found the first available flight out was destined for Mexico City. When he got to the ticket counter, the agent told him he was just in time, and that there was still plenty of seating available. By the time he paid, got checked in, and made his way through security, theyâd announced final boarding.
It had only taken forty-five minutes to escape, but this time, Steve didnât feel relieved when the plane took off. Instead, he felt nauseated, and the sensation stayed with him long after the flight ended.
A pit-stop at a tourist trap for toiletries, over-priced snacks, and new clothes. Then, it was on to a cash-only, no-names, non-descript motel. Four walls, a bed, and heavy, garishly patterned curtains. A bedside lamp that flickered incessantly, a television that didnât work, and an air conditioning unit that puttered out lukewarm air in unsteady intervals. It wasnât fancy by any means, but the place was clean, which was more than he could say for himself.
He undressed in front of the full-length mirror that hung on the back of the bathroom door, and the fluorescent light revealed everything that had been kept under wraps. Friction-burned knees; thighs smattered with fingertip-shaped bruises; hickey-covered throat; a bite mark on the crook of his neck; scratches on his torso; tenderness in the softest, most intimate of places.
It looked bad, but it felt so God-damn good. Â
Half a fucking decade had passed. He shouldâve been well and truly over it, but old habits were the hardest to break, and like an idiot, he did the one thing heâd promised himself he would never do again. Steve shouldâve said no. He shouldâve said no because he knew better. Damn it, he knew better, but heâd always wanted Bucky. Heâd wanted him from the moment he understood what wanting someone actually meant, and heâd never stopped fucking wanting himâŚ
The ache in his gut was compounded, because every time Steve took a breath, he could fucking smell him. Many things had changed, but Bucky had worn the same cologne since high school, and the all-too-familiar scent still clung to his own skin. Steve could still feel the voraciousness of their shared pleasure in his calves, at the small of his back, and in his arms. His groin and mouth and heart and conscience were still laden with everything theyâd done, and all that blistering, bittersweetness was just too fucking much to carry.
A tiny shower stall, with a sheer curtain that kept clinging to his ass; travel-sized, off-brand soap and shampoo; a methodical cleansing that he knew would leave his skin pruned and bright red afterward. After Steve got out, he wrapped a towel around his waist, and brushed his teeth at the sink until his gums bled in protest.
The clothes heâd traveled in went into the trash, and though he was exhausted down to his marrow, he could find no rest. Detoxing meant avoiding temptation, so, instead of obsessing over Bucky, he turned his mind toward Fury, and tried to mentally untangle the web.
What Steve couldnât understand â what didnât make any sense at all â was why Nick had even bothered coming to the table if his ultimate goal was to take Brooklyn for himself. Fury was a man who didnât like to share or compromise, but he would do it if it served his bottom line. He was also a man of patience and strategy, and he rarely, if ever, missed a target. It just didnât make senseâŚ
Steve knew there had to be more going on, but he couldnât see the bigger picture yet. He may have lost a battle in Jamaica, but that didnât mean the war was over, and leaving had been much more than a tactical retreat. He knew what he needed to do â what it would take to get it done and make it right â and for the sake of what remained of his sanity, he had to go it alone.
The journey began two days later on the shores of Table Bay in Cape Town, South Africa. The economic hub lured in real estate moguls and sightseers, but Steve hadnât been interested in Clifton Beach, African penguins, or the architectural heritage. What heâd needed was information and he knew a guy who owed him a favor.
From there, it was on to Tristan da Cunha; an island completely isolated from civilization that required a seven-day boat trip to reach. There were no restaurants or hotels, credit cards werenât accepted, and while most of the inhabitants made their living through trade and farming, he knew of one resident who wasnât who she appeared to be.
After that, it was on to the Caymans, followed by Cuba. Then, Steve headed back to the States, and hoped to find the final piece of the puzzle at a swanky beach house in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
âI heard you were dead,â Phil Coulson declared by way of greeting.
Steve smirked and stepped over the threshold, âDisappointed?â
âImpressed,â he countered. âAnd relieved.â
Steve knew there was no point in asking Phil to elaborate on his assertions. The man had been doing the whole espionage thing since before it became mainstream, and though heâd been in retirement for nearly a decade, he still had his finger on the pulse, and really enjoyed the build-up before the show-and-tell. Phil was also the last person left who owed Steve a debt, but it took a tour of the house, lunch on the patio overlooking the ocean, and a lot of small-talk before he was able to bring up the reason for his visit.
âWhat can you tell me about the players in New York and in the West Indies?â Steve prompted. Â Â
âI donât participate,â Phil said as he tapped at a wireless keyboard that fired up the flatscreen on the wall. âBut I do like to watch.â
A map of Brooklyn appeared and it displayed the hierarchy and territories of the Families over time. After that, it was the West Indies, which showcased how Fury had slowly taken it piece by piece. Next came the reports of all the backroom talks, underhanded deals, blood, death, and destruction. It wasnât anything Steve didnât already know, but what Phil brought up next made his blood run cold.
Steve had lied to Fury â said heâd tied up all loose ends â but he hadnât. Since he knew the womanâs death would bring nothing but trouble, heâd let the dead Senatorâs wife go free, and his act of mercy had been both a mistake and the catalyst. Samâs flunky at the shop came up and he recognized the trademark lollipop. Subsequent pictures showed the two women had met dozens of times. After that, there was a video of Sam doing what he did best, which was very illegal, and theyâd used the tape to blackmail him and force him to play along. Â
The series of clips that followed showed Fury locked in a cell by himself, but eventually, another person had been thrown in with him. The man Steve saw was supposed to be in a graveyard back home, but the date and time stamp revealed Sam Wilson was above ground, and very much alive.
Buckyâs private security â all taken out by a lone bodyguard who had been bought off and tasked to kill his own Boss. The men who had ambushed Steve on the street, in his house, and who had also raided the Families homes -- they, too, had received similar instruction and payment. All in all, theyâd had enough combined insider-knowledge to get it done, but someone who had both clout and cash had helped them execute their plans. Â
Steve ran a hand over his beard and started to pace. He hadnât been able to see clearly or think straight, but now, all the madness made sense. Keeping the peace meant Steve continued breathing and someone clearly hadnât wanted that. When heâd gotten captured by the Families, Fury shouldâve issued a kill order; instead, heâd sent an unknown emissary to negotiate for peace, which meant the accord had actually been a contingency plan.
The agreement between the Bosses had been Furyâs way of trying to ensure Steveâs back was covered. The man had struck the bargain of a lifetime, but if half of what heâd learned was true, Nickâs hands hadnât been on the steering wheel since the paperwork had been signed. Whoever had done this had managed to get him out of the way and that person now had full control over both the business and crew. What little protection Steve had been given had also been taken away, and somehow, theyâd managed to convince the Families to cut him off completely.
Given everything Phil had shared, Steve knew someone had to have put things in motion before he ever stepped foot in Brooklyn. Whoever it was had maneuvered the Senator and his wife into Furyâs orbit; ensured they got caught double-dipping with the Families; planned for the job heâd been sent to do to go sideways. The torture, the ousting, the rumors, the staging of Samâs death â theyâd been responsible for all of it.
Whoever was behind it hadnât been trying to prevent a war, theyâd been planning one all alongâŚ
âWhen all else fails, follow the money,â Steve bit out. âWho bankrolled this?â
Phil had saved the best for last, and when the picture and wire transfers were revealed, Steve put his fist through the screen. Everything inside him was screaming in protest, and he didnât even realize Phil was still present until heâd been given a towel for his bloodied knuckles.
âWhy? Why would she do this?â
Phil shrugged slightly, âFuryâs getting up there in age and has been looking for a successor. I have a feeling Nick intended to hand the crown to you after the job in Brooklyn was done.â
He cursed and wrapped his hand, âI wouldnât have accepted.â
âShe couldnât be sure youâd decline,â Phil asserted.
âThen, why even bother to play nice at all?â Steve snapped. âWhy didnât she just kill me when she had the chance?â
âMoney, anger, fear, envy â theyâre all powerful motivators. Sabotage takes time, but itâs less risky, and much cleaner. Killing you wouldâve been easier, but youâve got friends in high places, and it wouldâve drawn too much attention.â
âIs anyone else involved?â Â
âNo. None of them had a hand in it or benefitted from it.â
Steve let out a ragged breath and stared at the destroyed television, âI donât have it on me now, but I will send you money to replace it.â
Phil grinned and retrieved both a manila envelope and a tablet from the coffee table, âI thought youâd say that. I also figured youâd show up here eventually, so, letâs settle up, shall we?â
A thumbprint was all it took to bring the screen to life, and when Steve realized what Phil had done, the tightness in his chest spread right on up to his throat. He hadnât just provided coordinates to Sam and Furyâs location -- heâd also somehow managed to unfreeze Steveâs money and assets, and had put safeguards in place to ensure they would never be taken from him again. The envelope contained two stacks of cash, a burner phone, a plane ticket, and a set of car keys.
Phil told him his chariot and the arsenal in the trunk awaited him, and since his flight departed in an hour, his driver was on standby to take him to the airport. The debt Phil owed had been paid in full, and though Steve was floored and overwhelmed, he still managed to thank him and shake his hand. Â
âGive âem hell, Rogers,â Phil advised. âAnd when youâre done, get out, and donât ever look back.â

Trumpâs âDeep Stateâ is Trumpâs Corrupt State
Trump has been ramping up his âDeep Stateâ rhetoric again. Heâs back to blaming a cabal of bureaucrats, FBI and CIA agents, Democrats, and âenemies of the peopleâ in the mainstream media, for conspiring to remove him from office in order to allow the denizens of foreign shi*tholes to overrun America. Â
But with each passing day itâs becoming clearer that the real threat to America isnât Trumpâs Deep State. Itâs Trumpâs Corrupt State.
Not since Warren G. Hardingâs sordid administration have as many grifters, crooks and cronies occupied high positions in Washington.
Trump has installed a Star Wars Cantina of former lobbyists and con artists, including several whose exploits have already forced them to resign, such as Scott Pruitt, Ryan Zinke, Tom Price, and Michael Flynn. Many others remain.
When he was in Congress, the current White House acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney pocketed tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from payday lenders, then proposed loosening regulations on them. Trump appointed Mulvaney acting head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, of all things.
When he was Trumpâs special adviser on regulatory reform, Wall Street billionaire Carl Icahn sought to gut EPAâs rule on ethanol credits which was harming his oil refinery investments.
Last week it was reported that a real estate company partly owned by Trump son-in-law and foreign policy advisor, Jared Kushner, has raked in $90 million from foreign investors since Kushner entered the White House, through a secret tax haven run by Goldman Sachs in the Cayman Islands. Kushnerâs stake is some $50 million.
All this takes conflict-of-interest to a new level of shamelessness.
What are Republicans doing about it? Participating in it.
Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, who also happens to be the wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, has approved $78 million in grants for her husband's home state of Kentucky, including a highway-improvement project that had been twice rejected in the past. Chao has even appointed a special liaison to coordinate grants with McConnell's office.Â
Oh, did I say, McConnell is up for reelection next year?
News that a Cabinet secretary is streamlining federal funding for her husband's pet projects would be a giant scandal under normal circumstances. But in the age of Trump, ethics are out the window.
Congressman Greg Pence, who just happens to be the brother of Vice President Mike Pence, has spent more than $7,600 of his campaign funds on lodging at the Trump International Hotel in Washington since he was elected in November, although federal election law forbids politicians from using campaigns dollars to cover housing costs.
The Corrupt State starts with Trump himself, giving new meaning to the old adage about a fish rotting from the head down.
When foreign governments arenât currying favor with Trump by staying at his Washington hotel, theyâre using state-owned companies to finance projects that will line Trumpâs pocket, like Chinaâs $500 million entertainment complex in Indonesia that includes a Trump-branded hotel.
Trump claims the Deep State allows foreigners to take advantage of America. The reality is Trumpâs Corrupt State allows Vladimir Putin and his goon squad to continue undermining American democracy.
âIâd take itâ if Russia again offered campaign help, Trump crowed last week, adding that he wouldnât necessarily tell the FBI about it. Just days before, Trump acknowledged âRussia helping me get electedâ the first time.
Despite evidence that Russia is back hacking and trolling its way toward the 2020 election, Republican defenders of Trumpâs Corrupt State wonât lift a finger.
Mitch McConnell refuses to consider any legislation on election security. He and Senate Republicans even killed a bill requiring campaigns to report offers of foreign assistance to the FBI and federal authorities.
The charitable interpretation is McConnell and his ilk donât want to offend Trump by doing anything that might appear to question the legitimacy of his 2016 win.Â
The less charitable view is Republicans oppose more secure elections because theyâd be less likely to win them. Â
Trump and his Republican enablers are playing magicians who distract us by shouting âlook here!â at the paranoid fantasy of a Deep State, while creating a Corrupt State under our noses.
But itâs not a party trick. Itâs the dirtiest trick of our time, enabled by the most corrupt party in living memory.

2010â˛s
2010âs Thinking about this last decade and there are so many amazing milestones, losses, triumphs, memories, successes and more. This decade provided the following memories 2010 - I dropped out of college, one semester short of graduation. My first job (Wendyâs) promoted me to a shift supervisor. I moved in with my boyfriend and his family. We went on my first cruise and my first international vacation. I swam with sharks and hand fed a scarlet macaw Jamaica, fed green turtles in Grand Cayman and petted Ernest Hemenwayâs cats in Key West 2011 - I quit my job at Wendyâs and took the summer off to relax and revaluate my priorities. My parents moved out of the home I grew up in and moved to a one-bedroom apartment in the next city over. I took a weeklong vacation to Lincoln, New Hampshire. I went to the top of Mt. Washington and saw six moose on a moose tour. 2012 - Six weeks after getting a job at Catherineâs plus sizes as a supervisor, I was promoted to Assistant Manager. At the age of 24, I was the youngest manager in my district. (All of New England). I was also top in sales for the state of Massachusetts. I went to Niagara Falls and enjoyed every moment of it. I never got tired of seeing the waterfalls. 2013 - Quit my job as an Assistant Manager at Catherineâs when my boss was screaming at me in front of customers because I didnât catch a small mistake made by another employee. I broke up with my boyfriend of seven years. Our relationship and our lives werenât moving forward, and he didnât see a problem with it. Therefore, I moved back in with my parents at 25. I traveled to NYC with my parents to celebrate their 30th anniversary. By the end of the year I was a Swing Manager at McDonaldâs working 50 hrs a week. 2014 - Easter Sunday was my first Sunday off in six months. I was bored and downloaded Tinder. Within 10 minutes, I matched with Chris. We spent the next five days texting and on the phone with each other. On April 25th, I traveled five hours on two busses, 2 subways and a commuter rail to get from Lowell to Hartford to meet Chris at the bus station. We went on our first date to Mooyah in New Britain. Six months later, I quit my job at McDonaldâs and moved to Connecticut and into our first apartment. I had lived in Massachusetts for 23 years and itâs the only state that I ever remember living in. 2015 - Chris and I traveled with his parents to New Hampshire and saw the Ice Castles. That March, we found out that I was pregnant. I was on the Depo Provera shot. When we went to the Planned Parenthood two days after we found out, the pregnancy was deemed high risk as my HCG levels were about 3 times what they should have been for six weeks along. We spent an entire night and day at St. Francis Hospital to be told by three OB/GYNâs that I had a âunviable pregnancy of unknown locationâ. A week later we went back to St. Francis for another ultrasound and they found the sac and a heartbeat. The Radiologist said that everything looked normal and my due date was 11/22/15. I refused to believe it, but after three weeks of terrible all-day sickness, the pregnancy was gone. I was 9 weeks, 3 days along. I couldnât work for an entire week after that. Chris and I have never spoken about it again. After that, I revaluated what I wanted to do with my life. Just not sure what I wanted to do, just that I wanted something that I could help people and that wasnât a dead end job. That June, Chris was laid off from his first job after graduating college. We had to move in with his parents. I threw myself into working as much as possible. My job at the time was at Panera Bread as an Associate Trainer. That August, I signed up for real estate classes at Manchester Comm. College in Manchester. It took me three months to complete the course, but I passed the final exam with flying colors and looked forward to leaving the restaurant industry behind. Chris and I spent Thanksgiving moving into a two-story townhouse in Ellington. 2016 - I passed my national and state real estate exams on my first try in January. I signed up with Keller Williams in East Longmeadow. My license was issued on February 16th. After a few months, I switched to Keller Williams in West Hartford. I interviewed with several teams. However none of them were the right fit for me. I was still working at Panera but was desperate to leave. That November, I saw a Facebook post on the Keller Williams West Hartford that the Blake Team was looking for a Transaction Coordinator. I responded with my resume immediately and Amina messaged me back within five minutes. Five interviews later, I landed the job and my start date was 1/2/17. After two years at Panera Bread, it felt incredible to put in my two weeksâ notice. 2017 â Started my first ârealâ job in January in Wallingford. I couldnât have asked for a better team to learn from. Everything I know about real estate is from this team. While I enjoyed a job that kept me busy. (Our team was the #1 Individual team at Keller Williams in New England that year) I knew that I wanted to go back to school to finish my bachelorâs degree. That May, I applied to Central Connecticut State University and I was accepted. I started in August as a general business major as I didnât really know what I wanted to major in. It was intimidating to sit in classes of 20-year-old students at nearly 30 years old. Especially after being out of school for nearly nine years. I would work 8 am â Noon, M-F as an ISA on the team and then go to CCSU from 1 PM â 10PM, Monday â Thursday. First semester didnât go as great as I wanted to, but I kept going. After months of illness, my nana passed away on Nov. 25th. I had visited her two days prior on Thanksgiving, it was heartbreaking to see her like that. 2018 - I continued my education and kept working in real estate. I went back to handling the transactions for the team that August. I did not want to give that up as Iâve worked hard to get my license and to earn a spot-on Aminaâs team. Due to financial reasons, I went back to Panera Bread as an Associate Trainer. So along with taking 15 credits at CCSU, working in real estate, I was working at Panera, my only day off was Saturdays. That May ended up declaring my major as Hospitality and Tourism with a minor in Business Administration. Professor Kreeger, who is the head of the department, was the first professor that I met that cared about my education. He took transfer credits that CCSU initially refused to take. Thus, allowing me to graduate a semester early. My grandfather passed away October 1st, he was my last surviving grandparent. 2019 â I started my last semester at CCSU in January and continued to go to school full time and work two jobs. Iâm still not sure how I handled it, but I ended up graduating with a 3.6 GPA in my major and a 3.0 overall. That June, I quit Panera Bread again and took on real estate full time again. In September, Amina asked me if I was willing to take BOLD that year. At first, I was hesitant as I had preconceived notions that it was just cheerleading for agents and a scheme for KW to make more money. After seven weeks on the âUntouchablesâ team, I was hooked. The energy and momentum were more that I was expecting. I even got my first listing appointment while taking BOLD. Iâve already asked Amina if I can take it again in the Spring. As I look back on the past decade, I first saw failures, from relationships, education, jobs and myself. However, I never gave up, I kept going until I reached my goals. Am I where I thought I would be at 32? No, but I am working to get there. There isnât a timeline for when things need to happen. Iâm going at my own pace.

HEDGE FUND LIST-REAL ESTATE
Investors are always looking for the best investments that will yield the most profit. Any investor who can afford the extra cost should consider investing in Hedge Funds. Hedge Funds were started in 1949 by Alfred Winslow Jones, who pioneered non-traditional investment strategies. Jones innovated this new investment strategy by selling short stocks, while buying other stocks (long stocks). Hedge Funds are very similar to Mutual Funds, except that there are fewer regulations on Hedge Funds. As a result, Hedge Funds usually require a much larger investment.
What Are Hedge Funds?
Hedge Funds can help investors make more money with higher-risk investments. Other techniques used in Hedge Funds include "leverage," which is borrowed money to trade in addition to the capital provided one's investors. The usage of Hedge Funds also requires an incentive fee. An incentive fee is a fee based on a portion of the client's profits as opposed to a fixed percentage of assets. This fee is then invested and ideally will gain the investor more money.
Generally, companies are the owners of Hedge Funds because most people do not have enough money to meet the minimum investment required to have a Hedge Fund. In 2004, Hedge Fund investments passed the $1 trillion dollar mark. In mid-2004 about 39 companies shared the total Hedge Fund values of 1.1 trillion dollars.
Common Techniques for Investing
There are also other techniques for investing with Hedge Funds. One way is to invest in a company just before a major merger. If one gains knowledge of a merger, and buys large amounts of share in a company that is about to merge, the shares go up greatly once the merger occurs. This is, unfortunately, a very high-risk investment strategy because some mergers may not occur.
Other techniques include selling short, which is where one invests in seemingly undervalued securities, trading commodity and FX contracts, and taking advantage of the separation between the current market price and the highest purchase price in events such as mergers.
Why are Hedge Funds Beneficial?
Hedge Funds are also beneficial because of their high level of security. Hedge Funds are private, between individuals, and do not have to be made known to the government or other companies. Currently, Hedge Funds do not need to be registered with the SEC. Hedge Funds are also based in places with less regulations (I.E. The Cayman Islands, The Virgin Islands, etc). However, one drawback of Hedge Fund security is the fact that it looks suspicious to have secretive investments. For this reason, many companies and investors are criticized for being involved with Hedge Funds.
Conclusion
Hedge Funds are a very risky investment, with a large payoff. In order to invest in Hedge Funds, one must be prepared to make a very large investment. Hedge Funds are similar to Mutual Funds, except there are less regulations on Hedge Funds. Less regulations lead many people to be suspicious of investors who invest in Hedge Funds. However, if one is willing to take the risk, Hedge Funds can certainly pay off!
