Two of my Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous girlies, Meril and Neilia. Meril is a Cavalier of the Paw and I haven't yet named her wolf and Neilia is a Paladin of Shelyn. I've fallen to my classic wormhole: creating more and more characters in an RPG but now I also have to paint their portraits because of course, why make it easy. It's fun to paint these though and I'm learning more when I have to make backgrounds as well.

Yay I did the thing!
I was failing at sleeping last night as I was stuck trying to come up with a Core playthrough build (because I don't have enough characters...) and this afternoon started a game with Maria, the halfling Order of the Paw Cavalier, and her faithful doggo, Banquo. The water elemental took me three tries, but on the successful time no one went down!

For the KC Asks: 2, 14, 24 for Cleo? 1, 7, 10 for Maebrys?
thank you!!
Cleo
2. What led to the Knight-Commander picking their archetype, or staying the standard class?
Answered here!
14. What about another mythic path that they did not take? Is there one that would fit them, build or personality wise, and what might that have looked like?
Ooh that’s interesting! I always knew Cleo was going Demon, so I never really considered anything else. She’s definitely chaos leaning, but Trickster doesn’t really fit her (it’s a bit too much ‘for the lolz’). Azata would definitely be interesting; it contrasts her personality for sure, but in a way that could be fun to explore
The biggest though would be her Bad Ending where she takes Demon all the way to the end! I’ll play that through one of these days just to see how Bad it gets
24. When the option to pick was available, which mythic units did they unlock and why?
…I’m gonna be honest, I do not remember. But when it comes to council choices, she tends to side with suggestions from Seelah or Ulbrig!
Maebrys
What led the future Knight-Commander to take their base class?
On a meta level, it was very much me being delighted by the existence of the Cavalier of the Paw subclass. For Maebrys- I imagine this order of cavaliers being somewhat famous among halflings, and something she always dreamed of doing. It was an important job that also came with a sense of adventure, and she very much wanted that!
7. Is there an alternative class or archetype that is in-game that may fit them better, and if so why did they not take that path?
As a halfling, I’m sure she could be gotten a good build as a rogue or something like that, but it’s not her style- she’s got a paladin’s personality!
10. How does their ancestry (race) play into their class and mythic path - do they overlap, or what dynamic is created from that combination?
The main thing with halflings is that I think most people tend to underestimate them. So when tales of the powerful Knight-Commander with powers of the Angels start to spread, I’m sure there are plenty of folk who are surprised/amused to learn that she’s a halfling.
Mae is aware of that, but she tries not to pay it much mind- she’s more focused on her own actions and the works she’s here to do

Dragon Age Veilguard Hype Questions
10.Which location are you most excited/hoping to explore in-game?
I'm excited for everywhere (with a major dose of 'I hope BioWare doesn't fuck them up'), but especially Tevinter. I have a deep worldbuilding soft spot for magocracies and arcano-tech, and I wasn't sure how much they'd lean into it, but the glimpse we saw in the gameplay reveal got me hyped!!
(I also want to see our home base, the Lighthouse!! Fingers crossed for some Skyhold-esque customization options but without the. Um. Blandness.)
11.What's one thing you'd really like to see in this next game?
DA2 and DAI both gave us elf companions who hated each other, and I really really really hope Davrin & Bellara break the trend. And especially since they're both Dalish, I want to see them talking about their Clans & their similarities & differences in terms of culture & customs, & even perhaps their different (and hopefully respectfully handled) perspectives on dealing with the corrupted Evanuris.
12.What's one thing you're hoping we DON'T see in this next game?
"""""""""""""""""Grey morality"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
13.What's one thing you've seen confirmed so far that you're a fan of?
Does the CC count? Specifically that body =/= gender =/= pronouns, I'm so excited to be able to make my he/him butch lesbian Rook, and it feels like a much better direction to be going in than BG3's 'four body presets we're going to pretend aren't gendered but they still conform to thin cis ideals & also clothes that look wildly different depending on body type' shit
16.What's one crack theory you subscribe to (yours or someone else's)?
Lucanis has some sort of spirit bullshit going on I'm so sure of it
19. Are you planning to replay any of the previous games, watch Dragon Age: Absolution, or read any of the books/comics/short stories, or are there other games you want to play in the meantime?
Last year, I replayed Origins twice, DA2 once, and got ~halfway through Inquisition, so I'm feeling pretty up-to-date on the games themselves, though I may try to finish an Inquisition run... maybe............ In the meantime, I have another run of Pathfinder WOTR I've been dwelling on (CN trickster halfling cavalier of the paw, with her mount flavored as reynard the fox/other canine trickster folk lore figures), and I'd like to do a run with one of the evil mythic paths too (I /love/ the vibes of the swarm that walks but idk if I can commit to the consequences it comes with....), AND eventually I will finish durge!Cyrus' BG3 run (sadly the braid clipping issue has not yet been fixed).
I also want to rewatch Absolution & read Tevinter Nights & the Missing comics to ~set the stage~

🌼 for anyone!
✿ for a general moodboard about my muse
thank you! I did one for Maebrys since I don't talk about her much (I'm only like halfway through her playthrough still lol)
She's a halfling cavalier of the paw, and she's my Angel playthrough!

Thank you @serenbach86 for asking about Maebrys Tallflower! I haven’t talked about her a ton yet, but she’s a halfling Cavalier of the Paw, which is a really solid class. The paw subclass is especially fun because she gets to ride around on her giant dog, Nehaly, and it’s adorable
Let’s see, what else about Mae...her favorite companions are Seelah and Greybor, she’s a Neutral Good follower of Iomedae, and she’s on the Angel Path but I’m going to try and get the Secret Ending with her (if I ever finish her game lol). She’s aromantic, so she’s not romancing anyone; she’s the oldest child in a very large family, aaaand she really enjoys flying around on her new Angel wings!

Ok for the WOTR asks - 4 for Piper, 14 for Maebrys, 16 for Cleo, 20 for Lilith please :)
4. Companions: your OC’s rock / person they go to for reassurance?
Both Arueshalae and Seelah were this for Piper! Arue gave her a lot of was always willing to listen when Piper needed to vent or bounce her thoughts off someone, and they had a lot of quiet moments together that helped give Piper a sense of peace and comfort. Meanwhile, Seelah was constantly encouraging Piper and gave her a sense of normalcy, and while Piper was surprised to be receiving that much support from a paladin, it always meant a lot to her. The three of them still have a really strong friendship after the game and continue to meet up a lot!
14. What was your OC doing right before being brought into Kenabres on a stretcher?
Aside from being in Areelu's lab, Mae was already trying to help the Crusades!
She came from a large halfling family, and was part of a halfling group of warriors (all of whom were Cavaliers of the Paw). The warrior's purpose had always been to protect their homes and families, and in Mae's opinion that meant doing whatever she could to permanently stop the demons.
She ended up leaving her home, which was hard but in her mind necessary, and had been fighting groups of demons on her own while trying to get a position within the actual army. So all in all, becoming Commander was exactly what she wanted and helped her achieve her goals, just not at all how she predicted!
16. Your OC’s favorite ability / spell?
Cleo is a beastkin barbarian, and her favorite ability is definitely Feral Transformation- when she rages, she can take the form of an animal, and she usually opts for a wolf!
It's a fun mechanic, and my headcanon reason for why she can do it is that Cleo comes from a tribe consisting of a lot of druids. She never really got the hang of druid magic as a kid, but she still had druid magic in her blood, and it comes through with this transformation ability. So the move is both something she's used for years in fighting and something that reminds her of her family and home.
20. Your OC’s thoughts on Areelu Vorlesh?
Ha, Lilith's thoughts on her are...complicated.
On the one hand, there's a lot of respect. Areelu is ruthless and intelligent and composed, and those are all things Lilith admires. It's unfortunate that their goals are opposed, but the fight against Areelu isn't personal for Lilith- at first.
When Lilith learns the source of her powers and her connection to Areelu, things get a lot murkier. She hates the idea that Areelu used and manipulated her without her knowledge, and that leaves her with a grudge. Plus Lilith doesn't really have any experience with having a family or parents, so having Areelu suddenly claim she's a vessel for a beloved daughter is something that Lilith has no idea of how to deal with. And when Lilith doesn't know how to deal with something, she gets defensive and shuts down, meaning that she became completely unwilling to listen to anything else Areelu had to say.
In the end, Lilith mainly thought back on Areelu with resentment, and while she is interested in learning what she can from Areelu's interest, she doesn't want to dwell on Areelu as a person.
