Yeah I’m not 100% certain a piece is still in there but my gum on that one is still kinda lumpy. Never had a dentist look at it but I always kinda wondered. Oh, also, cleaning out the holes in one’s gums after wisdom tooth removal SUCKS. But it has to be done because you do NOT want food and junk in there when it closes up. I also swallowed a tooth as a kid lol, it came out in my cereal. I have no idea how long it was in me but it passed just fine; getting one trapped in a trachea for a months sounds incredibly unpleasant.

I’m not catholic so IDK anything about rosaries, but if the hail mary teeth are mostly wisdom teeth from people you love, maybe the our father teeth and centerpiece could be from animals? Obviously that would require like, an animal to need dental work or be dead, which sound scary and very sad respectively, but if a pet died maybe their teeth would work? I dunno if that’s morbid and horrifying or inappropriate though, just a thought. As for a big centerpiece, maybe a shark tooth? I know that wouldn’t have any special symbolism but they’re big and cool looking. If you’re going for something more cross shaped, you could always literally cross two little bones together. I dunno where you’d get such bones that would be meaningful, but that would be on theme.

As for 100% serious tooth rosary, that’s honestly not the strangest thing I’ve seen in a religious context (I was raised UU) so you’re good, that just took me by surprise.

Your thought process is fascinating actually, and it seems really meaningful. It honestly makes it less gross, and the idea of seeing it as a Memento Mori specifically because humans are slowly evolving to not have wisdom teeth/we get them removed is a really interesting angle. I am very excited to see what becomes of this project.
