Verses
//I finally got around to making a couple verses for Tsukishima and making a page for them.Ā
This is just the outline/descriptions so that I can tag and save them.
Fractured Pasts
This is a headcanon-based verse thatās derived from the fact that when Tsukishima cuts his victims and alters the past and their memories, he also āremembersā those pasts. While he has some resistance to utter mental breakdown because heās the one who instigated the change, having those conflicting memories building up over time has given Tsukishima a fractured sense of reality and identity in this verse.Ā
In this verse, Tsukishima is more volatile, easily confused/distracted, and perhaps more dangerous depending on who heās interacting with. Heās frequently assaulted by flashbulb-like memories from various pasts, and the types or intensity of the memory may cause rapid shifts of mood, behavior, or personality.
Note: Ginjou is one of the few people who can interact with Tsukishima and not trigger these memories, because he interacted with Tsukishima extensively before he developed Book of the End.Ā
Basically, this is a verse good for a moreĀ āmadā or insane Tsukishima or for a thread where heās more vulnerable.
Beyond-Canon Verses
Basic Premise:
This verse is set after the Shinigami win the Thousand Year Blood War with the Quincy/Sternritter. Tsukishima and the other Fullbringers died in the human world and are now Souls in Soul Society; however, after being rescued from the Rukongai and trained by the Shibas (they all still have their Fullbring powers), Tsukishima and the others retain their powers. Tsukishima has fulfilled Xcutionās/Ginjouās debt to Ichigo by helping Orihime fix Zangetsu, and in canon thereās not any indication where they went afterwards.
The Reconciliation Route:
Based on the premise ofĀ āthe enemy of my enemy is my friendā: after the Thousand Year Blood War, Xcution agrees to work with Soul Society instead of against it. Soul Societyās leaders accept this because a) theyāre all souls now b) they didĀ aid the Gotei in the war, and c) they all have high spiritual pressure and great discipline, and itās just easier to keep an eye on them if theyāre all Shinigami.Ā
Tsukishimaās personality wouldnāt change much: heād still be sadistic, sociopathic, amoral, and manipulative. However, heād be mostly well-behaved and/or limit his amoral activities to criminals or hollow. However, he wouldnāt be aboveĀ ābullyingā in a psychological sense, and certain people will likely be either terrified of him (like how people were fearful/wary of Gin) or in wary awe (think Moe).Ā
Zanpakuto Powers To Be Determined, but obviously based around the Fullbring in some way
Variations include: at the Academy, post-graduation:in a division, defection from the Gotei after joining, etc.
The Defection Route:
Xcution take the aftermath of the war as the opportunity to escape and they disappear into the Rukongai. Because of their unique combination of powers, theyāre able to remain hidden, except from certain individuals (Kisuke, Yoruichi, and the Shibas). Xcution still considers themselves enemies of the Gotei, and Ginjouās original motivations and goals still stand. However, they know they canāt fight Ichigo, so theyāre waiting/planning and otherwise staying low. Being who they are, Xcution manages to set themselves up relatively well in mid-numbers level of North Rukongai (between 55-75 or so, depending on how hard theyāre trying to hide), and become somewhat feared, yakuza-like figures among non-shinigami residents.
Anyone in the slums of the Rukongai unfortunate enough to know who Tsukishima is knows better than to cross him. He wastes no time in establishing that he will not be stolen from, he will not be merciful to those who try to attack him, and he just might use any adverse interaction as a reason to make that personās life hell for his amusement. Heās more careful and subtle in nicer districts where Shinigami and law-enforcement are more prevalent, but heās not prone to following the law.
He is incredibly motivated to find new books, as there is a painful lack of those in the lower districts...
Alternate Route 1: Return to the Slums -Ā Xcution (or Tsukishima by himself) are returned to the slums of the Rukongai and, without Yukioās money, they suffer the effects of poverty. The lack of food has made using Fullbring powers difficult and/or a luxury that uses too much energy. Tsukishima survives - and helps the others survive - by being as manipulative and as ruthless as necessary, but they want to stay very low to avoid Gotei attention.
Alternate Route 2: Repaying the Debt - Xcution ends up as lackeys of the Shibas because of Ginjouās need to repay his debt to the Shibas for initially rescuing them from the Rukongai and giving them the training to master their powers as Souls. Tsukishima finds this particular arrangement distasteful, but follows Ginjou loyally. And so, he often absconds to the surrounding Rukongai areas to relax and read if possible.
The Prisoner Route:
Tsukishima and the rest of Xcution have been apprehended after the Thousand Year Blood War and are prisoners of the Gotei. This verse can vary for roleplaying purposes: maximum confinement in the Maggotās Nest; lesser confinement in a normal prison; confiscation of their Fullbring Items and/or forced enrollment in the Gotei; or imprisonment and experimentation at the 12th.Ā
The biggest elements of this verse are that Tsukishima is imprisoned, heāll likely be desperately bored, heād probably love to escape - but only if itād benefit Ginjou in some eventual capacity -, and heās not particularly fond of the Gotei.Ā
Note: Execution sentences/scenarios are also an option in this verse. However, itāll only be used if plotting has been done to plan things out.
Xcution of the Plan - Canon Verse
This is basically the canon verse set during the Fullbringer Arc. Xcution - including Ginjou - have been cut and the false, predetermined past has been set for the plot against Ichigo. Tsukishima and Moe Shishigawara are living in a mansion away from the others as they manipulate all the living pieces of their plot. Threads can start/occur at varying places along this canon plot line, depending on what works with the thread/prompt.Ā
Variation 1: Snake Next Door with @hisvenom - Tsukishima keeps his own apartment away from Moe and Xcution so that he can get away and read in peace. In the existing threads with hisvenom, this apartment is next to Gin Ichimaru in a special post-Aizen, human world verse (Ecoysis).
Telling Xcutionās Story
This is an adult Tsukishima verse set sometime before the Fullbringer arc, and is based largely on headcanon and preference. However, this will be after the formation of Xcution: those characters may appear in the background of threads and there will be the basic plot to enhance their powers and the agreement with Ginjou to bind them all together. Tsukishima will display the various character traits of the original canon verse. Setting (country, town, etc.) may vary depending on the needs of the thread. Good for other Fullbringer muses.
Turn Back the Pages
A verse for child!Tsukishima. Ages and settings can vary; however, Tsukishima is going to be less sadistic the younger he is. In this verse (and all verses), the sadism and amoral tendencies are learned and encouraged by Ginjou; Ginjou raised Tsukishima to be a weapon - to survive, to fight, to crush his and Ginjouās enemies and enjoy it. Because these are learned, younger Tsukishima has the tendency to be much more gentle and incredibly naive/impressionable.Ā
In variations where Ginjou hasnāt found him yet, Tsukishima may not even develop those immoral traits, depending on who becomes his mentor. However, heāll have high spiritual pressure for a child and be able to see spirits/shinigami and hollow. This Tsukishima may also āimprintā on whoever helps him and offers him the companionship that Ginjou did in canon.
In variations where Tsukishima has already been found by Ginjou, he may display some taught, amoral behaviors, but not necessarily be completely sadistic yet. The level of conditioning by Ginjou will vary.
