The way I write fanfiction is sooo unconventional, I’ll just write a bunch of random dialogue snippets and short scenes and then try to piece them together like some sort of frankensteins monster

have you listened to cant catch me now by olivia rodrigo? it’s for the new hunger games movie and honestly after listening to it it reminds me a lot of ghost and novak but also bucky and ghost

because looking at ghost and novak first, in the chorus and the bridge it goes

and i just think it goes well with this idea novak had of ghost being this self destructive soldier who he had all figured out and how obsessive he was over her and turning her into the “perfect soldier

now with bucky and ghost it’s so much more sad

cause when interpreting it from his perspective it’s him trying to remember who she is, remember that she is his “soldier girl” that while still in the same life time, he knew her in so many different ways

My footsteps on the ground

You'll see my face in every place

But you can't catch me now

Through wading grass, the months will pass

You'll feel it all around

I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere

he sees her everywhere

and i’m not talking about ghost,

his little soldier girl is in everything he sees and does, one can argue that ghost and soldier girl are two different people.

and then going back to ghost

when she leaves again, he sees her everywhere, and when they try to get her, well again, she’s in “the trees and in the breeze… you’ll feel her all around, she’s here she’s there she’s everywhere, but you can’t catch her now.”

if you haven’t listened to it yet i would take a little peak at it, the angst in it is soooo good

I love that you were able to put both Buck and Novak into the narrative.

Going from a verse talking about someone Novak doubting the abilities and drive of the narrator Ghost to her basically saying that he can't snuff her out as easily as he thinks; that she'll fight back even when he thinks that she can't.

Then with Bucky and the duality of Ghost [the ghost & soldier girl] She is there. She is right there. Both of them are right there. And, yet, she's not in a way.

Ughhhhh this is just too good, i love it so much 😭
