i am new to thai bl and i was wondering if there's a fandom favorite in every couple? the first show i watched was firstkhao and that's what got me into the fandom, and i've noticed that people seem to prefer khao a lot, he's the one everyone always wants to talk about no matter what. is that how it is with all the pairs? and if so, who are the favorites. are there any pairs where both actors are loved more or less the same?

And if I read your ask correctly, you are asking that if it is the norm to have a favorite within the CP (official pairing). Cause you gave the example of FirstKhaotung - mentioning that you think a lot of people prefers Khaotung? And all everyone does is want to talk about him?

Ahem, I am not going to say I’m an expert in CPs or Thai BL in general. But I think whoever you are following? Or talking? are probably solo fans or antis.

Oh, I have no doubt fans will have their “bias” within the CP. However, Thai BL fans who follows a CP expect a partnership and it’s the interaction (plus chemistry) of the couple they are lapping up whenever they see the CP on-screen, during events etc.

So, even if fans have a bias, sane fans will still support both individual equally.

And you only need to see how the official fanclubs of our boys interact! First and Khaotung both have different official FCs but the respective managers are so supportive of each other that I’m inclined to believe they have their own bromance/BFFs situation going on (or whatever it is the equivalent of this).

And even after FK officially paired up with new FCs popping up promoting “FirstKhaotung” as an entity, all of these other FCs follow the leads of the boys original individual FCs.

As for the other CPs, I don’t really follow them. But from the outside, most fans (again, I’m talking about sane fans, cause there are trolls out there!) are equally supportive to both individuals that make up any CP.

However, just a caution, there are some toxic delusional fans that become absolutely devastated when their CP breaks up - so yeah, you can get on one hand, solos & antis of CPs but on other hand too devoted to the CP that their sense of self shattered when the partnership ended (OhmNanon and JamesNet break up come to mind)

I guess, the bottom line is just to have fun and don’t take anything about CP too seriously. The boys who are in CP know what they are in for but equally fans should understand, CP is a job!
