   the straw hat captain is not really paying attention to what exactly his navigator is saying, instead finding heavy interest in a stow away ladybug. it crawls its way along the petals of one flower within the Sunny's raised plant boxes. crouched and with hands resting on his knees, Luffy watches intently, only somewhat processing half of the words spoken by the ginger.

the swing on the ships deck was something that brought the man some peace as he let himself sway to and fro, letting him bask in the warmth of the day upon the sunny. there might be thoughts coming through his mind from years past from time to time, but right now, he had his eyes closed, just listening to the sounds around him.

that was until he heard a door open, his eyes opened to see the navigator of the crew come out of the kitchen with a sweet in her hands, no doubt from the chef. it looked rather enticing as he stopped the swing to question.

There are a number of emotions that sort of surround Nami, but his first thought of her is... relief. That she has been able to find people she loves && has the ability to thrive, all the while working hard to achieve her dreams. While he does see her as a survivor of Arlong's cruel treatment of the people among Cocoyashi village, he also sees her more as a strong navigator, a cunning thief, a strategic fighter, && a kind person to those she cares about. Antics of a short-tempered Nami ( often towards their captain or the two bickering boys often at odds with each other ) is something he's come to recognize as a way to show she's comfortable with who she's interacting with. Almost like a sister to many of them, or at least, how he imagines siblings to be like. Also sees her as someone who is adaptive && resilient. She's a fine young woman that only fools overlook.

There will always be that itch in the back of his mind, holding onto the guilt he has in his inaction to stop Arlong all those years ago, but knows she holds no fault towards him from it. Though more on the subconscious side, he will find himself just a bit more protective of her or letting her hitch a ride on him even though there isn't anything in particular that is preventing her from matching their speed. Seeing her happy with the rest of the crew eases his old soul, finding himself smiling anytime he gets to see the group interact so casually.

Brook thinks Nami is an amazing person! Imagine a woman who has it all: she is absolutely stunning, rational, smart, quick-witted, strong-willed, but also incredibly caring. Brook knows better than to ask Nami for money, so he has never been on the receiving end of her debt collecting. He is of very high opinion of Nami and respects her immensely, which is one of the reasons why he still feels a little bashful around her and doesn't know how to start a conversation, thus the constant requests to see her panties.
