Omg I saw this ask and then completely forgot to answer it (I repressed it) 🙂‍↕️ Apologies for the 2 month delay.

I've read 5.5 books 🫣 just found out there's going to be a sequel to Bride!?! Whyyyyyy

Best to worst (I take no responsibility for what past me thought of these books):

The Love Hypothesis (First was better since it was first)

Love on the brain (same plot in every book, same guy in every book)

Love, theoretically (there was an ace side character is all I remember)

Bride (this was gross. Only reason it's on 4 and not last is because I loathe the chess ♟️ book with my very soul)

Not in love (not finished yet 😞 we tried. Me and @appleinducedsleep were racing each other but then I lost interest and she's still waiting for me 🙂‍↔️ @mangoslixes finished it without us lol).

Check & Mate 🔪🔪🔪 (if I could stab this book, and stab the guy I'd do it).

Work has been really harrowing this year what with cyber attacks, layoffs round 1, layoffs round 2, working without a manager, dreading the coming of a new manager 🙃

I'm still happy with the *checks notes* 30 books I've read this year because some of them were so beautiful! Looking at The Spear Cuts Through Water 👀

We are 'knot' doing well and we've only been at it for one night 🤡

Olá! A minha última leitura foi A Biblioteca dos Sonhos Secretos que foi maravilhosa! Uma leitura super gostosinha que deu um quentinho no coração. Vários personagens conectados por uma biblioteca e por quererem mudar alguma coisa em suas vidas. Totalmente recomendo!

A minha leitura atual é The Secret Lives of Country Gentleman que é um romance de época de queer bem legal.

A próxima leitura provavelmente vai ser Sobre aquilo em que eu mais penso: Ensaios da Anne Carson. Ela escreve super bem então já imagino que vou adorar <3

Okay, now I need to know, why do you loathe Beach Read? 🤣

You'll know when you reach the end 🫡 It has one of my most hated trope - Miscommunication ✨

Also it was crap. I didn't like any of it. Possibly a personal preference since everyone loves this author 😶‍🌫️

What was your favourite food/drink you had while reading a book this year? (Because you posted so many pretty pics of them 😉)

Hello! This ask made me go back and look through my photos because I love snacks and I always think I deserve a little treat 😌 that being said, it was really hard to choose but here are my top 5 favorite food/drinks I had while reading this year:

5. Coffee shake reading Howl's Moving Castle. It was so hot that day, so it was the perfect drink and so creamy!

4. Stroopwafel reading Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments. I friend gave a package of stroopwafels, and it's so goooood!

3. Waffles with guava jam reading The Jasmine Throne. Nothing special about the waffles, but the guava jam is a new favorite.

2. Red Velvet cake also reading Howl's Moving Castle. Layers of sugary perfection!!!

And the first place goes to a salty caramel chocolate pie from my favorite café! Their menu is wonderful, and I'm never disappointed with their food. Read the first chapter of North and South very happily while eating there!

So what's up with Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow? Why are people hyping it up? And what didn't you like about it? 👀

Ahahaha why indeed 🥲 The stupid hype made me vote for it and never have I had more regrets (except when I voted to read The Secret History) 🫢

Okay so serious answer, the book is not what it was advertised as. I went in wanting to read about two friends who made video games together but it was such a huge mess.

Some relationships were toxic, some good ones got strained, the main characters had no growth! They were stuck in their heads. No emotional or mental growth. Just stuck in a moment that they never wanted to let go.

I liked some of the games but the drama with the characters was really annoying. I didn't enjoy reading it at all.

Kinda late with this reply because holiday season didn't start well 🥲 My vacation got spent managing some personal problems at home and now I'm back at work with so many distractions at home that I can't concentrate on anything (hating WFH right now).

I'm almost done with my yearly reading. Did manage to read 2 books in the last week. I just want to finish my current read (A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher) before the year end. I have a few new books lined up for the new year ☺️

Hmm, I know you're a very big fantasy and contemporary reader. But I think our contemporary tastes diverge a bit? And I don't read a lot of fantasy and the ones I enjoyed I know you've already read! So tough question.

So I'm going with three fantasy books that you may enjoy:

Enchanted Glass by Diana Wynne Jones

The Mirror Season by Anna-Marie McLemore

Starfell: Willow Moss & the Lost Day by Dominique Valente

Now about the books I wanted to throw across the room, I read this manga called O//n or O/ff and one of the MCs misleads the other MC so they can have sex. It's super gross ✨️ and he becomes sweet and kind the rest of the story. I hated it 😬
