Coming home to a house in slight disarray was something you'd learned to expect years ago. With four Reid children, your house always had something out of place. Whether there were toys on the floor, homework on the dining room table, or soccer cleats not put away, there was something messy.
When Cleo was born, Spencer struggled to come to terms with how much stuff came with a baby. Three babies later, the mess hadn't lessened. But the chaos was what you had made together, and you both loved it.
After a busy day at work, you unlocked the front door, stepped into the warm house, and took your coat and scarf off. Once you left your bag in the office, you followed the noise up the stairs of the townhouse until you found the four kids sitting around the kitchen island and Spencer cooking.
You held a finger to your lips, instructing them to be quiet while you snuck up on Spencer. He definitely knew from the little giggles coming from Maisie, and the way Zara clamped her hand over her little sister's mouth.
Still, when you touched his shoulder, Spencer pretended to jump in fright, and all four of them burst into giggles. "Hi, Mrs. Reid." He greeted you, wrapping one arm around your waist and pulling you closer to him.
"Hi." You replied, tiptoeing up to place a kiss on his lips.
"Ew!" The kids clamored, all pulling the same disgusted face when you pull away.
Spencer shook his head with a laugh, looking back to you before raising his eyebrows and you didn't have to ask to know what he was thinking. All you did was wrap your arms around his neck while he cupped your cheeks and kissed you as dramatically as possible, tipping you backward and keeping his lips on yours for as long as possible.
The whines of protest made you both laugh at them. "Oh, I forgot you were here." You joked, earning some confused looks as you pull away from Spencer and walk around to kiss each of their foreheads. "How was your day?" You asked all of them.
There were excited comments from all of them, but something Cleo said stuck out. "We've got a surprise for later on." It earned her shushing from the rest of her siblings, who weren't happy she jeopardized the secret.
Suspiciously, you look up at Spencer with your eyebrows furrowed. At 7, Cleo didn't get things confused like the twins did. Spencer just shook his head, not giving up the secret. "And what's for dinner?" You asked instead.
"Spaghetti got the most votes." He answered like there had been a serious vote. "And it's ready, munchkins, so sit up at the table." He instructed and they swiftly moved to sit at their unofficial assigned seats.
Family dinners were something you adored. You knew that as they got older and started staying with friends, participating in hobbies, getting jobs, and eventually leaving home, the dinner table at the Reid house wouldn't be set for 6 people. It saddened you, but you made the most of them while your kids were still babies. It might have been your biased opinion but not only were they cute, they were also hilarious.
Once dinner was over and everything had been cleaned up, you went to get changed and ready for their surprise. The first thing you noticed in your room was that the blanket was missing, but you shook it off and made your way back out to the kitchen with pajamas on.
"Mommy, close your eyes." Zara insisted, surrounded by her siblings all sporting matching grins.
"Okay." You agreed, placing your hands over your eyes.
You knew Spencer was behind you before you spoke, from the warmth of his body and the smell of his cologne. "She'll cheat if you let her do that." He told them, causing you to turn around and scoff. With one hand on your waist, he spun you back around to face them and placed the other hand over your eyes. "Mace, Mais, you take her hands and guide her." He instructed Mason and Maisie, the twins.
They each grabbed one of your hands and pulled you in what you thought was the direction of the living room. "Can I look now?" You asked when everyone finally stopped walking.
"What do you guys think?" Spencer asked them, big palm still over your eyes. He must have earned four silent nods because he pulled his palm away and you came face to face with a massive blanket fort, taking up all the room between the couches and floor.
"Wow! Did you guys do all of this?" You asked in shock, looking at their wide grins. They were lucky their dad was an engineer because the fort not only looked impressive, but it also looked structurally sound.
"And we get to sleep in it," Mason told you. "Daddy said."
You looked to Spencer who was standing by his decision with a faux firmness. "I guess we just have to then." You decided. "But you need to show me where I'm going to sleep first."
"Daddy and you have to sleep on the floor," Cleo informed you, pointing out the different areas. "Zee and Mais are sleeping on one couch and me and Mace on the other."
"And we get to watch a movie," Maisie added, bouncing up and down with excitement.
After two movies, impressively, all of them were asleep, and you figured it was because Spencer took them out to the park to run them around.
When you turned back to look at him, he was already looking at you. "Hi." He whispered, brushing a strand of hair out of your face softly.
"Hi." You replied, reaching out to rest your palm against his cheeks. Over the years, he'd grown into his features and you loved them all the same. "You're so pretty."
"Mm, I think you're the pretty one," Spencer disagreed, inching his face closer so your noses were touching. "I love you, you know? Like so much."
You smiled widely at him, mumbling your reply. "I love you, too."
"We've got to sleep now, though, because I also promised breakfast tomorrow." He sheepishly mentioned, biting down on his lip.
"Hey, it's not me that's going to be making it." You joked, earning a smirk from him. "But I want a kiss first."
Spencer pulled you closer to him, so close that you were basically laying on top of him. He leaned up and placed a soft kiss on your lips before pulling back and kissing you again. Your arms wrapped tighter around him and you pulled the blanket tighter over the two of you before falling asleep together in the blanket fort made by your amazing kids.

8 Halloween Pet Parades You Can’t Miss
The post 8 Halloween Pet Parades You Can’t Miss by Elizabeth Anderson Lopez appeared first on Dogster. Copying over entire articles infringes on copyright laws. You may not be aware of it, but all of these articles were assigned, contracted and paid for, so they aren’t considered public domain. However, we appreciate that you like the article and would love it if you continued sharing just the first paragraph of an article, then linking out to the rest of the piece on Dogster.com.
Looking for some fall fun? From coast to coast, there are Halloween pet parades that have dogs putting the wow! in bow wow. Here’s a peek at these annual events from around the country.
1. Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade in Long Beach, California
Ahoy, doggies! These Boston Terriers took the 2016 Best in Show at the 16th annual Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade in Long Beach, California.
This is the 18th year that the Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade has been marching on. More than a parade, this event includes pet adoption and vendor fairs. Judges rate costumes on originality, showmanship, costume details and first impression — and there’s lots to judge. For example, the 2016 parade had more than 550 dogs entered! Humans of all ages are welcome to dress up and join the parade.
Event details: Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m. The start/finish is at Marina Vista Park, 5355 E. Eliot St., Long Beach, CA 90803. Registration begins at 12:30. $5 for front-row seating (fees are donated to a pet organization). Vendor fair and pet adoption fair is in the park from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Visit hautedogs.org/howloween.html.
2. Spooky Pooch Parade in Chicago, Illinois
Bella, a Shi Tzu- Pomeranian mix, rolled away with the prize for Best Senior at the Spooky Pooch Parade, with a horticulture theme perfect for the venue!
Dogs are allowed in the Chicago Botanic Garden for just two hours a year — for the Spooky Pooch Parade. Nonprofits and vendors are on hand, er, paw, to sell dog-related products and share info. Costume categories include best dog/owner costume, best puppy, best senior and, in keeping with the venue, best horticultural interpretation. This marks the fifth year cleverly costumed canines strut their stuff to celebrate Halloween. And maybe stopping to smell the roses!
Event details: Saturday, Oct. 20, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Parade starts in the Krasberg Rose Garden. Dogs must be on leash at all times and leave the Garden by 2 p.m. Viewing the dog parade is free. Anyone bringing a dog, whether entered in the parade or not, must pay the registration fee. Visit chicago botanic.org/dog.
3. Howl O’Ween Dog Parade in Geneva, Illinois
This Bullmastiff won Scariest prize at the 2017 Geneva Park District Howl o’ ween Dog Parade.
For the eighth year in a row, canine competitors vie for top honors at the Howl o’ Ween Dog Parade. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, funniest and scariest costumes. Will your favorite entry be boo-tiful or just creeping it real?
Event details: Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Illinois 60134. Line-up is at 1:15 p.m. in the courtyard. No registration fee. Visit genevaparks.org/contact-us.
4. MainStrasse Village Paw-rade in Covington, Kentucky
If this parade was a person, it’s one year away from being able to vote! This is the 17th year for the MainStrasse Village Paw-rade and will feature vendors, prizes for the best costumes and overall fun for both those with two legs and four. Previous categories have included best original costume and, for those less crafty, best store-bought costume.
Event details: Sunday, Oct. 28 at Goebel Park in Mainstrasse Village. The event begins at 12:30 p.m., and the Pawrade starts at 2:30 p.m. There is a $5 registration fee for each dog. Visit mainstrasse.org/calendar –events.html.
5. Ocean City’s Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade in Ocean City, Maryland
This dog and owner go together like, well, you know. They won the Most Ocean City Spirit award in 2017.
This is the seventh year that dogs will be able to strut their stuff on Ocean City’s historic Boardwalk in festive style. (Cats, birds and other family pets are welcome, as well.) The event is free, and some lucky pups will win prizes. Monetary and pet supply donations will be collected to benefit the Worcester County Humane Society.
Event details: Saturday, Oct. 20 at N. Division Street on the Boardwalk at 1 p.m. Registration begins at noon. Visit ococean.com/events/howl-o-ween-pet-parade.
6. Sea Witch Halloween and Fiddlers Festival in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
Treating a pup like royalty, this was one of the top finalists in the 2016 Sea Witch® Costumed Dog Parade.
Feeling a little deja-boo? This is the 29th Annual Sea Witch Festival! It features multiple events including carnival rides and a 5K race, along with, of course, the ever-pupular dog parade. According to a member of the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, “This is such a dog town, everyone dresses their dogs up.” If that’s a typical day, imagine the outfits today!
Event details: Sunday, Oct. 28 (weather dependent). Registration begins at noon at the North end of the Boardwalk near the Henlopen Hotel. $5 fee per dog. The parade begins at 1 p.m. on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk at Lake Avenue. Visit beach-fun.com/sea-witch- halloween-fiddlers-festival.html.
7. Nassau Barkfest Pet Parade and Costume Contest in Long Island, New York
This is the fifth year this parade will go on — rain or shine — with hundreds of dogs dressed to the nines. Organizers state this is Long Island’s largest pet parade, and they request all dogs be on a leash. (Which is good advice any time your dog is out and about, of course.)
Event details: Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. (judging at 2:30 p.m.) at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New York. Admission is free. Contact [email protected].

“i fucking love you” “hang up, and tell me this when you’re sober”
“just call me. you know, whenever… no matter how late…”
(I’m already imagining reader drunk calling Spencer for phonesex…)
come celebrate 5k friends with us
☀️ established relationship
R16 level content below
Going out with the BAU ladies was a guaranteed good time to talk about sex, relationships, and everything but work. It was the first time you'd be hanging out since you officially started dating Spencer, and you knew the conversation was going to come up. It wasn't that you weren't excited to share, but they already knew so much about you still had to look them in the eyes at work on Monday when the effects of the alcohol had worn off.
"Okay, you need to start spilling the beans about Reid." Emily declared once you were up to your fourth round of shots and far too many fruity cocktails. "We've waited politely, but you've got to tell us all the juicy details."
JJ hit her on the shoulder. "Em." She warned your friend not to be so pushy.
You sighed, although you weren't afraid of answering, you didn't know how much was too much. "What do you want to know?"
"What the sex is like." Penelope flatly told you, cutting to the chase. It surprised you since she very much saw Spencer as an innocent boy wonder.
It almost made you spit out your slightly too sweet cocktail. "What the fuck?" You asked, not able to filter your words anymore. They all shrugged, wanting to know the same thing. "Fine, it's good."
"Just good?" Emily asked, smirking. "That's going to damage his ego."
You rolled your eyes. "Spencer doesn't have an ego, but the sex is mindblowing." You conceded, giving them the answer they were looking for.
Penelope jumped in once again. "Is it big? Because Morgan said-"
Before she could finish you were in a fit of laughter along with JJ and Emily. "Why has Morgan seen my boyfriend's dick?"
"I don't know." Penelope shrugged, frowning in concentration like she was trying to remember her full conversation with Morgan. Emily, JJ and you couldn't stop your giggling. "Tell us." She demanded.
Instead of words, you held up two fingers Spencer's dick length apart which earned you gasps of shock and an odd sense of pride. "Oh, yeah." You gloated. "And he knows how to use every inch, too. His fingers, too, but don't even get me started on his tongue because his mouth was made for eating pussy." As soon as you started, you couldn't stop bragging.
"Is he into anything... like...?" JJ asked, clearly having an internal conflict about whether or not she should be asking such personal questions about a friend.
It was an internal conflict no one else at the table seemed to have. "Oh, he definitely likes it rough. It's always the quiet ones that have a dark side." Emily commented.
"So you're super vanilla then, Em?" You joked, trying to avoid answering the question.
"I didn't say being loud and having rough sex were mutually exclusive. But it's a statistical fact that quiet peoples' minds run wild with dirty thoughts." She tried to explain her logic, although she was too drunk to be doing a good job. And it only resulted in giggles from everyone else. "Shut up. Get your kinky, nerd boyfriend to explain it to you."
The laughter continued, and she joined in. "Genuine answer." You started. "Spencer Reid most definitely has a dark side which we've had a few... elaborate discussions about, but I haven't seen most of it... yet."
The squeals started immediately after that, and you could tell they were all so excited about the new knowledge.
There were only a few more conversations before you were all leaving the bar, drunk enough to decide to crash at Emily's rather than taking separate taxis back to your respective houses.
You were so hammered that it was easy for the girls to convince you to call Spencer after JJ called to say goodnight to Will and you felt like you were missing out on something.
"Mm, hey, lovely," Spencer answered, sounding half asleep.
If you had to guess, he had probably fallen asleep on the couch in his apartment, so at least your late-night phone call would have prompted him to sleep in his bed where he wouldn't wake up with a sore back.
"Spencer!!" You cheered like you were expecting someone else to answer the phone. All of the girls burst into a round of giggles, and in his own apartment, Spencer laughed.
"How are you all?" He wondered. "Need me to come and supervise?"
"Oh, Y/n would like that." Penelope joked loud enough Spencer could hear.
You hit her on the shoulder, but it didn't stop Emily's next comment which, if Spencer didn't get the innuendo before, he definitely would now. "I would not like that in my apartment. Yuck!" She exclaimed.
"Y/n has something to tell you." JJ kept the conversation on track, mostly because she must have been excited.
"And what would that be?" Spencer wondered, clearly intrigued by what your 4 drunk minds thought was such a pressing matter.
"Spencer, you're like my best friend ever." You started, earning a pout from Penelope. "Sorry, P, but I fucking love you, Spencer, and I need you to know that."
He laughed loudly, finding the whole declaration amusing. "Hang up, and tell me this when you're sober, you dork." He said.
"Spence, there's one other thing." You said before he could hang up, getting up from the floor where you were sitting in a circle. It earned a bunch of ooos from the girls.
"What's up, my love?" Spencer asked, wondering what the next entertaining thing that came from your mouth was going to be.
You waited until you were far enough away you were sure they wouldn't be able to sneak up on you and eavesdrop. "I just wanted to talk to you about something else." You hoped he got the underlying tone and wouldn't make you say it outright.
"You're dangerous, you know that, right?" He asked, his tone full of humor.
"And you're my boyfriend, it's your job to help... get me off." You said, whispering the last part. "I know it's something you wanted to try.
He laughed once again which only made you pouty. "You know you can just call me. You know, whenever... no matter how late, but only when you're sober." He informed you.
"I'm holding you to that tomorrow night." You assured him, anticipation already brewing.
"I can't wait." He replied. "But get some drink some water and get some sleep."
Spencer was definitely not innocent but he was nothing if not pure.

☀️established relationship 🦦 having an argument 🐘 making up “it's okay... you don't have to stay up with me. “ “I'm not going back to sleep when you're this upset.“
With every minute that the clock ticked passed 8 pm, you could feel yourself getting more and more irritated with Spencer. He promised he'd be home early enough for the two of you to eat together. You knew he'd be at work, where he almost always was. It was why he told you he'd be home so that you could spend time together.
But he didn't walk through the door. Not until it was closer to 10. And you were really annoyed with him.
"Really, Y/n, this?" He asked once he saw you rolling your eyes, huffing, and getting off the couch.
"What, Spencer?!" You snapped, throwing your hands up in the air in frustration. "You expect me not to be mad when you promised to be home early?"
He was the one looking annoyed at that as if he had a right to be. "I never promised. I told you I would try." He argued.
"No." You shook your head. "You said you would be here by 8, and you weren't."
"You know I have work!" He yelled, so out of character that it surprised you. "You're always expecting so much from me."
He knew that was a lie, and you knew he knew it, too, which was why there wasn't much more to say. "Spencer, you don't have to ever be here if you don't want to. Just please stop making promises you can't keep." You restated, walking off to your bedroom once you finished.
When he came to bed a few hours later, you pretended to already be asleep. He definitely knew you weren't sleeping, but he didn't say anything, getting into bed next to you. It took longer than usual for you to get to sleep, not having Spencer's arms wrapped around you.
You woke up to Spencer's voice, not his usual calm morning voice but his disturbed yelling. "Please, don't." He begged, the desperation clear in his voice. "Don't hurt her! You can't."
"Hey." You shook his shoulder, knowing what to do from the many times before that this had happened. "Hey, you're okay. Wake up, Spencer."
After he trashed around once more and you nudged his shoulder once more, those big brown eyes you adored found yours. He abruptly sat up, rubbing his eyes like he usually did when he had a headache.
"Sorry, I-" He cut himself off before he could continue, shaking his head.
"Tell me." You insisted, pushing his curls back out of his face.
Spencer shook his head again, looking quickly at the clock on the nightstand. "It's okay... you don't have to stay up with me." He told you.
"I'm not going back to sleep when you're this upset." You assured him. "So tell me."
Softly, he sighed, unsure about whether or not he should reach over and take your hand. You knew what he was thinking and you took his hands in yours. "I'm sorry for before." He apologized. "I just can't stand the thought of losing you."
"Baby." You cooed, pulling him closer to your chest where he cried out the rest of his tears. "I'm not going anywhere."
"I'm sorry, I know I promised." He mumbled quietly. "And I'm sorry you have to stay up with me."
You pulled back to cup his cheeks, tracing over his cheekbones. "I love you, Spence. I'll always stay up with you, and none of that other stuff matters."
Spencer's face softened, and he leaned forward so he could kiss you for the first time that night. "I love you, too, and thank you."

I'm so happy for you! Here's to MANY more 🕯(make a wish) 😉

🐚 mutual pinning 🦩 fake dating 🦕 hurt/comfort
"Reid, I need a huge favor." You announced one morning in the elevator, finally finding the courage to ask him what you were hoping he would agree to.
Spencer looked up from playing with the strap of his satchel. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you, but he was a little concerned about the tone of your voice. "What's wrong?"
"It's kind of embarrassing." You prefaced, earning a more curious look from him. "But I need a date to this stupid dinner my parents are hosting. It's tomorrow and you're the only person I know who might be slightly interested in coming with me."
He paled at the thought of getting to be your date, worried he'd embarrass himself before he got the chance to properly ask you out. "Uh, yeah, I guess." He agreed.
"You're the best!" You cheered, quickly hugging him out of relief. Things felt a little brighter knowing you'd have a date and one that they'd approve of. "Can I pick you up at 7?"
It sounded a little too much like a date and you felt a little too close to him in the elevator, so once it dinged open, he raced out. "Yeah, 7 is good."
After two more long days of work, Spencer was getting dressed in his most expensive suit, buttoning up all the buttons of his shirt, and tying his tie. The night after he agreed to come, you went out and brought a new dress because you thought Spencer might like it more. You were uneasy about seeing your parents anyway, but going with Spencer made you much more nervous.
Taking a deep breath in, you knocked on his door. He opened the door with a little smile, looking as pretty as ever. Unlike usual, he had purposefully done his hair and he smelt like expensive cologne.
"Look at you all handsome." You commented, reaching up to adjust his collar.
Spencer chuckled awkwardly and you could feel his breath against your skin. "Thank you, and you look beautiful. Not that you usually don't, you just- I mean-"
You shook your head to stop him from talking. "Thank you. And thank you for coming with me." He nodded, stepping out of his apartment, and locking the door. "Also, I'm paying for dinner once this is over. Any takeout of your choice."
"I thought we were going to dinner?" He asked, frowning as you walked side by side.
"We are." You said before explaining. "But one, the food is always in such small proportions it's ridiculous, and two, I know you're a fussy eater."
Spencer scoffed in mock offense. "I am not fussy."
You rolled your eyes. "Reid, last week, on the case, all you ate was Cheez-Its because everyone voted to have seafood."
"I just don't like lobster." He claimed, blushing.
You giggled at him slightly, bumping into his arm as you walked. "You're a dork." You joked before your face stiffened. "You don't mind if I introduce you as my boyfriend, do you?"
"Ye-no, no, I d-don't mind." He blurted out all at once, making you smile in adoration.
When you reached the car, he opened the driver's side door for you before getting in the passenger's seat himself. "Okay, so there are a few things I need to go over..." You started, before giving him a crash course on everything he needed to know about your family.
Your parents were instantly impressed by Spencer, more so than they had been when you got into college or the FBI, but finally, you felt like you'd done to please them.
He was the perfect date, something you had thought about more than once at night. He didn't even need to be so perfect when all you asked of him was that he pretended he liked you, but he spoke eloquently to everyone, his hand was always on your waist, and he kept getting you drinks.
You'd actually thought things were going alright, and you'd escape their house without getting in trouble. All up until, the end of the night when you were helpfully helping them clean up.
"Y/n, have you been thinking about what we talked about last time? About having kids?" Your mom asked. Of course, she had to.
You didn't want to, but your eyes darted to Spencer, whose eyebrows raised in shock as he tried to avoid looking at anyone.
Your dad apparently needed to have his say as well. "She probably doesn't even remember when she was last here."
"Yes, dad, I do, and no, I haven't thought about having kids yet." You replied to both of them, trying to shut the conversation down before it could resolve in a big fight like last time.
"You need to think about it." Your mom doubled down. "Sooner rather than later." It took everything in you not to scream, and Spencer could see it as he reached over to touch your hand. "You'd have to give up the FBI, of course, but you never belonged there anyway. A lower position would work better for you anyway."
That was enough for you to be seeing red. "Mom, that's unfair. I like my job and there's nothing that's going to make me give it up!" You yelled a little too loudly.
"You're being dramatic." Your dad told you. "Apologize now."
You weren't going to back down. Not that time and not when Spencer had protectively pulled you closer to him, arm resting wrapped around your waist. "No, we're going." You insisted, pulling him closer to the front door.
"She belongs at the BAU," Spencer told them in a moment of uncommon confrontation. Usually, he overthought everything in his head before he said it, but the need to defend you overwhelmed him and he blurted it out.
You didn't look at them again as you walked to the door with Spencer, not stopping until you got into the car. You were too embarrassed to even look at him, starting the car in silence.
Spencer could feel the hurt radiating off you, and the pain you were feeling trumped any sort of judgment. "Y/n, if you want to-"
"Nope." You shook your head, looking over at him pleadingly. The tears were already spilling down your cheeks as much as you tried to stop them. It broke Spencer's heart to not be able to help, not without making a fuss of it. "Can we pretend it never happened?"
"Sure." He agreed. "I want ice cream, that nice one in Georgetown."
You frowned at him when you stopped at the traffic light. "What?"
"You promised to buy me whatever I wanted for dinner, and I'm cashing in." He explained and you smiled gratefully at him for pretending like it never happened.
Buying Spencer ice cream also meant you had to sit with him, he insisted. Ice cream helped, and so did his lame jokes. Every time you felt his knee bumping against yours, you felt your heart skip a beat.
"You know you belong with the team, right?" Spencer reminded you in a rare moment of silence between you two.
You nodded seriously. "I know, they just like to be irritating."
"As long as you know, that's all that matters." He softly said, looking at you. Taking a leap of faith, he reached out to touch your hand, threading your fingers through his. It was different than earlier that night when it was all for show, this was Spencer touching your hand because he wanted to.
"Thanks for being there." You said, leaning over and placing your head on his shoulder. He tensed slightly before relaxing when he figured out it was really happening.
Spencer nodded, letting his head rest against yours. "I'm always here for you."

From the build a blurb! :)
🥥🦖
'I thought I told you to shut up'.
I like the idea of reader and Spencer being academic rivals and always trying to one-up each other on cases/facts/work/EVERYTHING. And then, for some reason, having to hide in a tiny closet and they're having a kinda heated (but petty) argument and ✨sexual tension✨ is high. Similar vibe to Nicholas and Mia in Princess Diaries 2, if you have seen it?
Also, congratulations on 5k!! You're amazing!! Thank you so much for everything!
thanks for celebrating 5k friends with us
🥥 enemies to lovers 🦖 forced proximity i thought i told you to shut up
"Can you stop doing that?" You asked after Spencer tapped his pen for the 9 millionth time.
Of course, you got the worst job of the case, having to sit in the supply closet with your least favorite person in the whole FBI. It was the unsub's fault for potentially being in the very police station you were working out of. It was also Hotch's fault for partnering you and Spencer up to look through the officers' files in the tiniest room in the place where they could accidentally find you and completely devolve.
More than anything, it was Spencer's fault for being so irritating that you needed to be at least 10 feet away from him to not want to punch him.
He had annoyed you from when you first joined the team when he insisted that he thought of something you profiled about the unsub first. It was supposed to be your moment to earn their respect, but instead, you had found yourself biting your tongue and acting like it was all his thinking.
From that moment on, all you two had done was argue over tiny problems. If he thought one thing, you had to add to the idea and claim it as yours. If you made a mistake, he had to loudly announce it to the team.
Spencer irritatingly looked at you from across the tiny desk, illuminated by only one tiny lightbulb. "It helps me think." He claimed, tapping louder to annoy you.
It had never helped him think before, and you rolled your eyes to display your annoyance. "Well, it's stopping me from thinking." You claimed.
"That isn't really a concern for me." He told you, not waiting for you to reply before he elaborated. "Because we don't need your brain when we have mine."
"Fine." You agreed, dropping the file you were reading through. "You can do it all, and I'll just sit here." Why do any word when he was offering to do it for you? Instead, you could stare at his pretty features as he poked his tongue out and worked. It was another reason you hated him, the intense pull he had on you.
Spencer took the files you were working through. "Well, it would be easier if you please shut up."
The idea didn't sound as appealing as annoying him did. "I'd really rather not."
"Do you really like the sound of your own voice that much?" He asked, eyes darting up from the file to meet yours. His pupils were wider than normal, and you weren't sure it was solely caused by the lack of light in the room.
"Yes, actually, I do." You answered the very much rhetorical question.
Spencer rolled his eyes at the answer he didn't want. "I thought I told you to shut up."
"Firstly, you said 'please,' and secondly, you're not in charge of me." It was, maybe, the most childish thing you could think to say, but as long as it annoyed him, it didn't matter.
"Sorry for being polite." He said sarcastically. You couldn't help glancing at his lips and wondering if they were always so pink. The most perfect shade of pink. "I didn't know it was such a bad quality."
It wasn't. He knew it wasn't. And he knew you knew that. And you also knew he was the kindest person anyone could find, just not to you.
His attention was so far off the files and he just looked right into your eyes for so long that you thought he was going to kiss you because he really looked like he was.
You could see every part of his face, every perfect inch, and god was he attractive. Maybe the prettiest person on earth. His breath was hot against your skin and you could feel his knee resting in between yours.
Face-to-face, almost like a staring match with so much chemical attraction you could feel it pulsing between you. Only inches apart and you couldn't help but glace between his lips and his eyes, and he was doing the same thing.
And then the phone rang.

🐳🦕 I hate going to bed angry or something
i'm adding in the other one you requested, I hope you don't mind

🐳 Dad!spence 🦦 having an argument 🦕 hurt/comfort I hate going to bed angry
In all the years you'd been in love with Spencer, him being away from you never got less difficult. It was always tough to see him go and you always missed having him around.
It didn't get easier once you moved in together or once you got married or once you had a baby. It was still just as difficult after having two kids, even where part of Spencer that you always got to keep.
Eden and Olive adored Spencer. The little girls were almost carbon copies of their father, from looks to the way they spoke, it was all so similar.
And sometimes it made you feel like you were the odd one out.
You loved all of them more than anything else in the world, and they all loved you, but as soon as Spencer walked through the door, you were forgotten about.
It happened the way it always did when Spencer got back from a slightly longer case than usual. He dropped his go-bag by the laundry, his satchel on his office desk and came into the lounge with a wide grin.
"Hi, my sweet girls." He greeted the 5 and 2-year-old wrapping themselves around his legs.
"Daddy!" They both cheered, clinging tightly to him.
It warmed your heart to see moments like that between them, where nothing else in the world mattered. Spencer leaned down to pick both of them up and hugged them for the first time since last Sunday.
"Have you two been good this week?" He asked, eyes flicking to you for just a second as he smiled. Even after 10 years, you were so beyond in love with him that there weren't enough words to describe it. He was the prettiest person in the world with the little grin he gave you.
"We've been really good," Eden assured him, and Spencer looked at you to check she was telling the truth. Instead of telling the truth yourself, you just nodded. "Can we play now, Daddy?"
Spencer looked at you again, trying not to let the guilt of not knowing the household routine get to him. When you nodded, he went back to the girls. "Of course, let's go." He said, spinning around with them before walking to the playroom.
You tried not to dwell on it for too much longer, instead, going to finish cooking dinner and tidy up a little. Spencer asked question after question about their weeks and what they'd been doing.
Things seemed normal, quiet but normal, until it was nearing the girls' bedtime, and you took a phone call, leaving Spencer in charge of them.
When you came back into the kitchen, the three of them had a bowl full of ice cream, sprinkles and chocolate sauce. "Spencer." You growled, frowning at him seriously.
"Sorry! They convinced me." He defended, only seeing the humour in the situation. You looked at him furiously for another moment before going to watch TV.
Every minute that passed their bedtime drove you angrier at Spencer. When it was 15 minutes after Olive's bedtime and 15 minutes into Eden's wind-down reading time, you went into the playroom where the three of them were still giggling.
"Okay, you two, it's time for bed." You told them sternly, putting your foot down in a way that you usually didn't.
"5 more?" Olive requested, holding up 5 little fingers, which was almost enough for Spencer to agree.
He would have, had you not stepped in. "You've had an extra 15 already. Come on, daddy will get you ready." You decided, looking at Spencer who was confused.
"Yeah, mommy's right, let's go." Spencer reluctantly agreed, offering out a hand to pull her up.
You left most of getting them ready for bed to Spencer. He always talked about missing too much of the little moments when he was away so you decided he could be the mean one for once.
"What was that about?" Spencer asked much angrier than you thought he deserved to be.
"What was what about, Spencer?" You rolled your eyes, walking away from the girls' bedrooms and back down the hallway.
Spencer crossed his arms in front of his chest while you sat on the couch. "Being mad at me and them for no reason."
"You can't just come back every time and be the fun parent!" You shouted a little bit louder. It was hard not to sound jealous, but sometimes you wished you could be the fun one.
"Keep your voice down." He insisted like he knew how hard it could be to keep them asleep when they wanted him. "And you know how my job works."
You threw your hands up in the air, fighting with him wasn't usually so frustrating. As stubborn as he was, he was usually able to see both sides of the argument. "I know and it's never been a problem that you can't always be here. I just want you to be on my team when you're here!"
"We're on the same team!" He yelled back, too overcome by emotions to be thinking about waking the girls.
"Well, it sure as hell doesn't feel like it." You replied, refusing to look at him as you storm off to your room.
The last thing you wanted to do was sleep without him on one of the rare nights he was at home, but you were far too mad at him to be around him. All you'd been dreaming about was laying next to him and now you were crying in bed alone. You missed him even though he was just down the hallway, and you couldn't help feeling like you failed as a parent.
You were close to falling asleep when someone climbed up the bed. When you sat up, your eyes met Spencer's. The soft light of the hallway floated into the room, and you could see his teary eyes. "I hate going to bed angry." He stated simply, sitting in front of you. "I brought ice cream." He announced, pulling out the pint of your favorite flavor and two spoons.
There he was, your sweet boy, and you melted inside as you looked at him. "I love you." You reminded him, taking a spoon and opening the pint. "But I'm still mad at you."
"Understandable," Spencer agreed while you take a spoonful of the ice cream. "I overcompensate with them because I'm terrified they hate me for not being here. Which isn't fair to you. You do the most amazing job, and I'm so grateful for you. You shouldn't always have to be the one making them follow the rules."
He was always so good with his words, and it assured you that he understood your point of view. "Thank you for getting me and you're an amazing father."
"Thank you for being the best wife and mother ever." He replied, leaning forward to cup your cheeks. "I love you, Mrs. Reid."
You leaned in close enough that your lips were only an inch apart. "I love you, too, Doctor Reid."

☀️ established relationship 🐳 dad!spence 🦦 having an argument 🦕 hurt/comfort “i’m tired and my bed feels so empty without you here.” “if i asked you to stay, would you?” “i would do anything for you. but, i’m starting to realise you wouldn’t do the same for me.”
"Okay, we're going to call daddy, and then when you wake up tomorrow, he'll be here." You say to Theodore and Eleanor as you pull out your phone. Ella climbs onto her brother's bed in her pajamas while Theo sits up with his body under the covers.
You sit down at the end of his bed, dialing Spencer's number since he assured you that you could call him. When they sat next to each other, Ella and Theo look exactly like how you picture young Spencer, with the same brown curls and big brown eyes. Maybe you were biased, but they were the cutest kids on the planet.
"Hey, beautiful," Spencer speaks into the phone once you answer. On the other side of the country, he steps away from the loud sirens blasting outside the abandoned house the unsub was torturing his victims in to focus on his family.
You smile at his usual greeting. "Hi, handsome, the kids are here." You inform him before he can say something inappropriate.
"Hi, pumpkins, how are you?" He asks, a pronounced smile on his face as he climbs into the SUV. He figures the rest of the team could finish things at the house while he spoke with them.
"Good, Daddy."
"'cited to see you."
They both answer at the same time, huddling over the phone screen like they could see him. "That's good, and I'm excited to see you two." You cough into the phone, playfully announcing you were there. "You three." He corrects himself, no doubt smirking.
"When will you be home?" Ella demands.
"I've got to have a sleep here first and then go on the jet, but I'll be there tomorrow afternoon, I pinky promise." He assures them, and you can almost see the guilt seeping into his brain.
"Okay." Theo agrees, having not known anything different in his three years of life. "Then can we read more of the book?" He asks.
Ella jumps in before Spencer got to answer. "Can we do more of our reading?" She asks before adding a devious, "First." Spencer always loved to have at least one book on the go with each of them, and they loved getting to read in bed at night with him.
"We'll have lots of time to read both of them." Spencer settles the fight that was brewing in the distance. He tilts his hand to glance at his watch. "It's probably time for you two to get to bed." He mentions which you were grateful for.
"Mhm." You hum. "Tell Daddy goodnight."
"Love you, Daddy!" They both squeal into the phone. They even sound like him, sometimes so much that it freaks you out.
"I love you both." He replies, looking up at Morgan when he gets in the car. "Do you want to say goodnight to uncle Derek?" He offers.
He already put the phone on speaker so Morgan could hear the kids cheering. "Goodnight!" They shout loud enough through the phone that Spencer probably didn't need it on speaker.
"Goodnight, little pretties." Their godfather replies, blowing them a kiss through the phone.
With the phone back on his ear, Spencer talks to you. "Can I call you later, sweetheart?"
"I'm demanding that you do." You joke, no doubt earning a grin from him.
"Okay." He chuckles. "Sleep well, little loves. I'll see you tomorrow."
They say one final goodbye before you hand up, knowing the phone call could go on with declarations of love for hours because you were just a family that sappy.
You were getting in bed with your pajamas on and teeth brushed when Spencer Facetimes you. Perfect timing as usual.
"Hey, there's my favorite girl." He greets you, his phone propped up on the nightstand of his hotel room.
"Mm, I love you." You say, grinning at him. "How are you? How was the case?"
Spencer sighed loudly, and you wished he was there so you could hug him. "Stressful, but it's done now. How are you?"
"I'm happy you're coming home safe." You say the same thing you almost always say to him. "But I’m tired and my bed feels so empty without you here." You complain, accentuating your pout.
"I'll be in that bed as quickly as I can," Spencer assures you, flashing you his signature smirk. You talk for a little while longer before you're so tired you're almost unable to keep your eyes open. After an embarrassing amount of I love yous, finally, you hang up and fall asleep.
When the mini Spencers woke you up, you cook them breakfast, take them to run a few errands with the promise of Starbucks cake pops, and wait around for Spencer to get back.
He wasn't back until three when the kids were watching a movie. "Hi, sweet babies." He says, walking into the playroom after dropping his things off. They scramble to hug him, and he lets himself be pulled down so he can hug them when he crouches.
"Spencer!" You exclaim, walking into the room with the cookies Ella had given up baking while you were still mixing ingredients. You hand them each a cookie, mainly so Spencer could stand up again and you could hug him.
"Missed you." He says, wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his head on your shoulder.
You squeeze him tightly. "Missed you, too." You hum, pulling back to place a kiss on his lips.
It was short-lived when Theo pulls on his arm. "Can I show you my painting?" He asks, looking up at Spencer with the big, brown eyes no one could say no to.
"Absolutely." Spencer agrees. "We've got a lot of things to get through."
The kids dragged Spencer around all afternoon, showing him their art, reading with him, watching TV, playing games, and kicking the ball outside. There wasn't enough time to get everything finished before they had to have dinner and settle down.
"Daddy, can we go on my bike tomorrow?" Ella pleads as you two tuck her in.
Spencer nods before placing a kiss on her cheeks. "I promise, sweet pea. We'll do it after breakfast, but you've got to get some sleep now."
"Night, Daddy. Night, Mommy." She happily hums, almost asleep when you turn the light off and sneak out of her room.
Spencer's lips crash against yours before you're even in your bedroom, feverish kisses on your lips as you almost trip over your feet to follow him.
"Love you." He mumbles against your lips.
"Mm, love you, too." You reply, pulling back with your arms still wrapped around his neck. "I really just want to cuddle tonight." You tell him, pulling back slightly to run your hands through his hair.
He nods in agreement. "Please."
You expect him to be cuddled up next to you when you wake up, but instead, it's Spencer's phone ringing. Loud and as obnoxious as usual when he hasn't even been back home for 18 hours.
"What the fuck?" You ask, mad that you were woken up to the BAU ringtone. You sit up to look at him as he rolls to the side of the bed.
He answers it with a glare at you. "Doctor Reid...Yeah... I'll be there soon."
That was enough to properly set you off and he gets out of bed without another word. "Spencer, where are you going?" You demand, locking eyes with him when he walks back into the bedroom with a dress shirt still unbuttoned and a tie thrown over his shoulder. Surely he wasn't going.
You were quickly proven wrong. "Sorry, love, duty calls." He replies nonchalantly.
"No, Spencer. It doesn't." You shake your head, sitting up more as you watch him get his things ready. His face changed when he realized you were actually angry. "You promised them you would be here today." You say, pointing towards the hallway.
Spencer keeps rummaging through the draws, ignoring you. "They understand." He says, assuring himself more than trying to convince you.
"Look, I get it." You remind him. "But you made a half dozen promises of what you were going to do with them today, and I'm going to have to break them." You scold your husband who still wasn't getting it.
"Just tell them I love them." He requests.
You always did that, but it was different when he promised to be there. "I would do anything for you. But, I’m starting to realize you wouldn’t do the same for me." You tell him as he unlocks his gun safe, almost ready to walk out the front door.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He pointedly asks, turning back to look at you.
You sigh loudly, frustrated with him. "That you don't care about the position you put me in." You try to explain as simply as possible. For a genius, he could be pretty fucking stupid.
"This is going to happen, Y/n." Spencer states, like nothing about the situation was complicated. "Deal with it or..."
You know he doesn't have the courage to say the actual word which only made you roll your eyes. "You're the only one who ever leaves around here." You remind him.
"Bye." He offers nothing more as he quietly opens the bedroom door and you wait until you hear the front door click unlocked and then locked again before crying.
You didn't sleep after he left, you physically couldn't. All you did was cry about him being gone and try to figure out how you could tell Theo and Ella. Although you love him more than anything, Spencer could be infuriating. Leaving wasn't something you wanted to do, but you knew you were almost done with his attitude towards your family.
Once Theo and Ella got up, you barely have time to think about their father. They are smart enough to know something’s wrong but there are still tears of frustration from all of you. They're going to forget moments like this, you know that, but eventually, there will be too many memories that they won't be able to outweigh the good times. And you refuse to let them continuously be hurt by his actions. You're so mad you can't even feel guilty for letting him leave without telling him you love him, something you always do in case of the worst-case scenario.
You should have gone to sleep hours ago, but you're still awake at 2 in the morning when your phone buzzes with a notification from the cameras Spencer had insisted we're installed. It's him, unlocking the front door as you hear it from your bedroom. You try to decide between pretending to be asleep and ignoring him, but he walks in before you make your mind up.
There aren't any words between the two of you as he locks his gun away and walks into the wardrobe to get changed. The look on your face, both when he left and when he came back, kills him. The stabbing pain in his heart intensifies and takes away from all of the relief he felt when he realized you were still there
You look so broken watching TV while you fight back tears and he knows it's his fault. He also knows he wants to fix it, more than anything.
You speak first, needing the answer to your question more than you wanted to coax him to apologize. “If I asked you to stay, would you have?”
He doesn't need to search for an answer in his big genius brain. “Yes, and I will next time.”

🥥 enemies to lovers 🦩fake dating + a request from @thisiscalmanditsdoctorreid for the dialogue "did you just — “ “no.“ “i'm pretty sure you did.“ “nope.”
"This is so stupid," Spencer complained, his hand resting against yours on the wooden table. It was an odd feeling, his slightly cold, slender fingertips resting against yours. Definitely not a situation you thought you'd find yourself in with him.
When you joined the team, things were better than you first thought. Emily shared how hard she found it when she first started 4 years prior, but it wasn't like that for you. Everyone was nice, accepting of your ideas, and respectful of you. Everyone except Spencer.
It was odd to the team, too, since he was rarely hostile with people and absolutely never as cocky as he was around you. Anything and everything you said had to have a smart remark from Spencer. None of them could figure it out, and neither could you.
"You could always quit." You offered, smirking into your drink- a mocktail that would have made interacting with Spencer a lot easier if it was alcohol in it.
Why Hotch had assigned you two to pretend to be on a date to lure out the unsub was beyond you. He explained it as the unsub's choice of victim, but you weren't entirely sure it wasn't just to try and bring some calm between you two.
"I'm not going to quit." He huffed, struggling to fake the smile he needed for appearance's sake.
"That's a shame." You mumbled, going back to the menu you weren't really reading. Keeping to pattern, you two needed to leave the restaurant before actually ordering anything in order to catch the unsub.
Spencer wished he could glare at you more than he was able to. "Why did Hotch even make us do this?" He complained, more looking to vent than for an answer.
"His victim type." You answer shortly.
"I really didn't think you were listening while we were giving the profile," Spencer remarked snarkily, tilting his head to the side like it was what he genuinely thought.
You rolled your eyes at his irritating behavior. The irony of the situation was that that's what the unsub needed to see, two people in love who were acting like they hated each other. "I was listening." You state firmly. "We profiled the unsub's victim type as being young couples. His main target is the attractive men who are definitely out of their partners' league, like you and I." You spat it out before you could stop yourself, continuing on to maintain some professionalism. "We profiled it was because a romantic interest of his, who was less conventionally attractive, left him."
From the smirk on his lips, Spencer caught it. "Did you just-"
You weren't about to let him have a win that big. "No."
He was still smirking as wide as ever, clearly relishing in the glory of the confession. "I'm pretty sure you did."
"Nope." You shook your head.
He brought your hand up to his lips, making you remember it was actually still holding his. "For what it's worth, I think you're much more attractive than me." He offered, and you couldn't help the small smile that took over your face.

🐳 Dad!Spence 🐘 making up
"She's still mad with you, you know?" You ask as soon as Spencer kicked off his shoes, dumped his satchel in his office, and wandered into the lounge.
It was almost like he was looking for what to do, contemplating whether to sit down, have his dinner, or maybe walk back out the door.
He glanced at you with a frown, hiding the sadness behind a wall of anger. "And you are, too?" He sounded annoyed, the kind of thing that made you want to roll your eyes but being married to Spencer for so many years had taught you patience.
"No." You reply, shaking your head.
It was a little bit of a lie, and he could easily tell. "Yes, you are."
"Talk to Matilda first, then we can chat." You tried to not let it sound too anxiety-inducing, looking down the hallway and letting his eyes follow yours.
"Okay." He agreed, not pushing a fight.
Apologetically, he walked down the hallway, drudging his feet along the carpet until he reached the bedroom door. He softly tapped on the door that was rarely closed and walked in.
"Hi, little one." He greeted the little girl, who was sitting at her table, coloring something.
"No." She replied, sounding more like you every day.
Spencer stopped lingering by the door frame and walked over to her. "What are you coloring?" He asked, crouching down next to her where he could see the twistable crayons that she was firmly pressing against the paper.
"I'm crossing you out." She announced, drawing a red cross over a tall stick figure standing next to two smaller ones.
"Is that because I missed your dance?" He asked, knowing he deserved it.
Matilda nodded, looking up at him for the first time. "Yup."
"I'm so sorry, sweet pea. I should have been there." Spencer told her, not going into the age-old excuse of being at work. "And I promise I will be tomorrow."
"Will you?" She asked, tipping her head to the side like she didn't believe him. Affirmatively, he nodded. "Pinky promise?"
He eagerly held out his pinky finger to lock with her much smaller one. "I pinky promise and I'm so sorry I missed it this afternoon."
"It's okay, daddy. I forgive you." She said, flinging her arms around his neck. Spencer accepted her hug, wrapping his arms around her as he stood up. Like a koala, she clung to him. As he held her, he placed kisses all over her face. "Daddy." She giggled, trying to dodge his kisses. "Put me down." She squealed, kicking her legs up and down playfully.
Spencer obliged, setting he back in her seat. "I love you, Matilda. More than anything."
"I love you, too." She replied. "And I have to re-draw you."
He chuckled lightly. "Thank you, little love. I've got to go see mommy, but I can read you your book after if you like?"
"Please." She agreed, smiling at him one last time before drawing a new figure on her paper.
For just a moment he wondered if she would always forgive him and say things were okay, even if they were his fault, but he didn't dwell on it for too long. Instead, he trailed out into the living room to see you.
"Is she okay?" You asked, looking up at him from your phone.
He knew making things right with you would be a little more difficult. "I am really sorry that I missed it." He told you, sitting down next to you while fiddling with his fingers.
"Spence, I know you can't be here for everything, and that doesn't worry me." You start, giving him the rehearsed lecture you knew you'd have to give him at some point. "It doesn't bother her either. What you have to stop doing is getting her hopes up and not following through."
It was all true, but he also knew he had to hear it sometimes to reflect fully. "I hate lying to her, and I hate not showing up when I promise I will."
"Then don't." You reply, shrugging slightly. "Telling her the truth is going to hurt her less than the disappointment will." You leaned over to push back the brown curls that had fallen around his face. "I love you, Spence, and she does too."
That made him look up with a little smile, ignoring the few tears the had fallen. "I love you both so much."
"Come here then." You directed, cupping his cheeks and pulling his face closer to yours so you could give him the first proper kiss of the day.

Something like Spencer is over thinking their situation and starts to ramble. He won't shut up and y/n just kisses him to make him stop.
Also I LOVE your writing and your amazing 😁♥

🌴 fwb to lovers 🪐 confession
"What is with you and freaking out every time we do this?" You asked, getting out of bed and climbing over the clothing you'd stripped yourself of before you got into bed with Spencer.
He was pacing across your hotel room, running his hand through his hair roughly. "I'm not freaking out." He insisted.
"Spence, we don't have to do this. Like you literally don't need to be here fucking me." You assured him. "Just... can you stop acting like it's the worst thing in the world?"
"Sorry." He apologized, briefly looking over at you with an embarrassed look. "I didn't mean it like that."
You drew your lips into a line, showing him no emotion. The hurt of him leaving, acting unhappy, accumulated every time. He was always eager at the start, but his brain always started spiralling out of control.
"So we're done with this?" You asked, trying to seem nonchalant as you rummage through your bag to find something to wear for the night.
Spencer hesitated, looking at you through the mirror where he was trying to fix his hair. "This is just...it's wrong, Y/n. I can't even keep up with what's going on in my head because I- it's just not fair that I keep doing this to you, but I can't stop it. There's something so intoxicating about just being near you!" This was the biggest spiral you'd seen from him, complete with him flailing his arms around as he spoke.
"Spencer?" You asked, stepping closer and tightly holding his arms.
"Yeah?" He squeaked, his eyes fixed on you once again.
You didn't say anything else, you just cupped his jaw and roughly kissed him. He tensed for a moment before relaxing into it, kissing you back gently. Every interaction between the two of you felt like it had been leading up to that moment and finally, the stress of being in love with him felt like it was leaving your body.
You didn't stop until you needed oxygen, and you broke apart panting. "That wasn't meant to be-" You began to clarify, not wanting him to think you only wanted to sleep with him again.
"I know." He nodded, pulling your body closer to his. "I know, Y/n."

from the prompt list: 🦀+🚀
(preferably a really *messy* breakup)
and again congrats on 5K. you deserve it!!
come celebrate 5k friends with us i love love love this prompt and thank you ! i didn't know if you wanted a happy ending, but they got one.
🦀 Exs with feelings 🚀only one bed
"Why is there only one bed?" Spencer asked, almost disdainfully, as he glanced around the room. His tone had already sounded like he blamed you before there was just one bed, like it was your fault that you had to double up on rooms.
"I don't know." You replied flatly because he didn't mean it rhetorically. It was awkward, yeah, but you weren't about to throw a tantrum over it like Spencer looked like he was about to do.
He sighed loudly, determined to make it a big point. "It's bad enough that I have to share a room with you, but now I have to share a bed with you, too." He complained. Honestly, you weren't sure why Hotch paired you up. No one knew about the 10 months you were together, and this was the first time any room sharing had to occur in the two months you'd been broken up. If you thought about it, it was probably because they could all sense the distance between you, less friendly with each other now that you couldn't tell him you loved him whenever you liked. So, he'd probably made you share so you could fix whatever had been broken. Which wasn't going to happen. Breaking up with him, well, getting broken up with, was never something that felt inevitable when you were dating him.
"So don't." You offered, dumping your stuff on one side of the bed. "Sleep on the chair."
He'd slept in worse places in his life, and the armchair did look comfortable, but the chance to sleep next to you again was far too tempting. Dangerously so. And he wasn't going to do the grown-up thing and express his feelings properly. "That's ridiculous, I'm not going to do that." He huffed out.
"Okay, so shut up so we can go to sleep, wake up and pretend this never happened." You instructed, knowing it would make him mad. Any orders you have him or ideas you had in the field were guaranteed to make him irritated.
He waited until you were looking at him to roll his eyes. "I'm going in the bathroom first." He announced, taking his stuff out of his bag. When you were together, you always took the first shower. Always. Which was why he went first, determined to not let it feel like it used to.
Once he was gone, you unpacked some of your things, getting out your pajamas and toiletries. He took longer in the bathroom than he usually did, probably to annoy you, and you didn't say a word when you passed him to take your shower.
When you came back from your shower, he was sitting up against the headboard on your side of the bed. The side you had always slept on.
"What?" He must have noticed your scowl. "I always liked this side of the bed."
"Not where you used to sleep." You muttered, rolling your eyes.
Spencer rolled his eyes. "I'm so sick of compromising with you!" He exclaimed, uncharacteristically raising his voice.
"You do not compromise with me." You shot back, glaring at him.
"It's all I do, Y/n." He complained.
Now would have been a good time to stop, to be the bigger person, and let him sit there pouting. "Really? I had been ready to move in with you for months! And I was prepared to wait for as long as you needed me to."
"Shut up! Just shut up, I don't want to think about that." He stated, shaking his head and squeezing his eyes closed.
You were resisting the urge to touch his hand, squeeze it and tell him everything will be alright. "Well, if I have to think about it, so do you." You decided, crossing your arms over your chest defensively.
His face softened in a way you've only seen a few times before, and he looked at you with a long-lost tenderness. "You think about it."
Honestly, you answered him. "It's pretty much all I think about." The bad breakup replayed in your head whenever you didn't see him, and you still dreamed about being next to him when you slept. Even though you broke up because of him and his persistent need to take things slowly and keep your relationship a secret. At some point, it just got too difficult.
"Me too." He admitted, almost shyly, like it was an alarming secret. It had been since you broke up. He couldn't feel mad at you, just sad he'd ruined what you had. It was just easier to act mad to mask his feelings.
"How do we move past this then?" You asked, ready for the whole mess to be over.
His face dropped at that question, turning sad. "Move past it?" He whimpered out.
"Yeah. I guess we have to decide whether we get back together or not." You simplified it, trying not to give him room to overthink it.
"I..." He started, unsure about how to continue. His eyes were everywhere but yours. "I w-want to be with you, I always will."
You nodded, sitting on the edge of the bed, so you didn't look awkward standing in the corner of the room. "I can't do that if nothing changes." You told him.
Spencer gulped as he nodded, eyes flicking up to meet yours. "I want everyone to know. I just- I was... scared before, but being without you is the worst thing imaginable."
"It sucked, didn't it?" You laugh, earning a nod from him. "I love you, Spencer, and I'm not going to stop."
With the additional confidence, he reached forward to take your hands, leaning so close your lips were almost touching. "I love you, Y/n, and I'm going to tell everyone." He vowed before moving the extra inch forward and attaching your lips. It was the first kiss you'd had in too long, but the passion felt like no time had passed.
"Can we cuddle now?" You asked, crawling up the bed with him while wrapping your arms around him so you could cling to him. "I've missed that a lot."
"Me too." He agreed, pulling the blanket over you both and pulling you even closer to his chest.

🐳 Dad!Spence 🦦 having an argument
"Are they watching Cocomelon?" Spencer asked, walking right past you in the kitchen one Sunday morning. It was the only day your whole family had off from activities, sports, and birthday parties in months, and Spencer was home. He sounded more concerned than he needed to be at the thought of his children watching cartoons.
"Good morning, my beautiful wife whom I adore. Where are our usually lovely children who you grew, birthed, and raised." You rephrase his original question with a sweeter morning greeting.
He sweetened it further by pulling you in for a quick hug, stopping you from making the pancakes you were making for the kids. "Good morning, my beautiful wife, whom I adore. Where are our usually lovely children who you grew, birthed, and raised?" He repeated, drawing soft circles on your waist.
"Watching Cocomelon." You answer.
The way he sighed, throwing his head back in annoyance, surprised you. "I hate Cocomelon." He complained.
It made you chuckle more than it should have. "What is so bad about Cocomelon that you're going to start an argument first thing in the morning when you could be spending time with me?"
For a second, you thought he was going to stay in the kitchen, but then the theme song started and he was stepping away from you. "That's something I'm going to take up with them." He decided, not wanting to spend his Sunday morning watching a show he hated. He would move Heaven and Earth for them, but Cocomelon was a step too far.
You could hear them in the other room, all squealing when Spencer walked in, no doubt throwing themselves around his legs. "Daddy, don't change the channel!" What sounded like Millie yelled.
"But we can watch Shaun the Sheep." Spencer reasoned.
"No!" Ava argued since it wasn't her favorite show.
Spencer changed the channel again. "Peppa?" He proposed, trying to find any compromise than watching Cocomelon.
"No, Daddy." Beau pleaded, kicking his little legs up and down against the couch in protest.
PAW patrol, A series of unfortunate events, and Sesame street were all met with no's. It had gotten hostile enough you walked into the room to offer some pancakes. "Okay, why don't we eat and come back to this?" You offered, bringing some peace to the situation.
"Scooby-doo!" Beau shouted, pointing to the TV screen where Spencer was going through the opinions of children's tv shows.
"Yeah." Ava agreed while Spencer nodded too.
It all rested on Millie's agreement. "Can we eat our pancakes in here, Mumma? So we can all watch?" She asked.
If it meant there was going to be some calm, you'd agree to almost anything. "Absolutely."

Being sent on the jet with Spencer across Texas to investigate what looked like a connected crime felt as close to a personal win as you could get during serial double murder cases. The team wasn't looming over you, scrutinizing every move you two made and trying to figure out if you were finally together. It was an hour each way for you and Spencer to destress in the best way you knew how.
You had been on the couch, naturally, the most comfortable place to do anything that required anything vigorous. But as soon as it, as incredible as it was, was over, you felt yourself falling asleep, laying on his chest with your head on his shoulder. He was warm, and he'd always brought you more comfort than you cared to admit.
Spencer watched your face, knowing your eyes were closed, and you wouldn't think him weird for his admiration. Everyone looked pretty when they slept, he convinced himself, and he was your friend: it was a normal thing to think.
You could feel his eyes on you, and you reached out to try to force his eyelids closed. "Y'need sleep. Haven't in days."
He chuckled, his chest vibrating as he did so. "I will." He promised although it might be another promise he broke. Because he definitely broke his vow to not fall in love with you.
"Mm. I love you." You mumbled, tensing on top of him when the three syllables slipped past your lips. Your stomach completly dropped. It was too easy at that moment, with the afternoon sun coming through the windows while you felt all warm. And it felt nice to say, almost natural.
From that, he knew you knew what you'd said. "Did you just-"
That was not a conversation you were ready for, maybe not ever. "No."
"I'm pretty sure you did." He smugly stated, and you couldn't see it, but he was smirking. All you were thinking about was the teasing it was going to bring. Lighthearted jokes that would crush you just enough each time that you'd lose all confidence to ever tell him.
"Nope." You replied, shaking your head against his chest, not risking looking up at him when you could take the rejection without those pretty hazel eyes watching your expression.
It wasn't going to work for Spencer, and he placed a finger under your chin so you were forced to look at him. Still, you kept your eyes shut, making him chuckle again in a way that wasn't cruel. "Look at me." He requested, softly adding, "Please."
So you did, slowly blinking your eyes open and noticing how close your faces were. It hadn't been uncomfortable until now. "Can we just pretend-"
"No." He firmly stated, shaking his head. "I'm finished with pretending that I don't... feel... things about you."
"What are you saying?" You asked cautiously and slowly.
You could feel his chest rise more than usual like he was taking a deep breath. "I love you." He said as simply as possible.
"I- well, you already know that." You sheepishly told him.
"Can you say it again?" Spencer requested, smirking a little. When you shook your head, he had something else to say. "You were mumbling, that's not fair."
That was how you'd fallen in love with him so quickly, the goofy side that not many people saw. "I love you."
Spencer grinned at hearing that, leaning down slightly so he could kiss you differently than he was just 10 minutes ago. This kiss was full of passion, as usual, but much more love out in the open.
