I posted some mer!buck earlier for an ask, but now I'm using this as an excuse to post the other bit of the snippet (all prev snippets here)

“Smartass,” Eddie mutters, already emptying his pockets, dumping the contents in his shoes. “You’re not secretly one of those evil merpeople that’s gonna drag me under, are you?”

“You wound me!” Evan scoffs, holding his hand to his heart in mock offense. “And do you really think I would tell you if that was my plan?”

“Actually, I think you would. You can’t lie for shit.” Eddie lowers himself into the water, wincing at his pants and tee clinging to his skin. “Now what? I can’t exactly tread water forever.”

He thinks Evan mumbles something about humans before swimming closer. 

“Now what is that you hold onto me.” Evan arranges them, looping Eddie’s arms around his neck. “There.”

Eddie’s breath hitches in his throat as realizes how little space there is between them. How their bodies are pressed together, noses almost touching. He doesn’t think they’ve ever been this close before. Not since Evan saved him, and Eddie doesn’t actually remember that part. 

“Yeah,” Eddie murmurs. “There.” 

He thinks there must be something else he could say, something intelligent or witty, but his brain is too occupied. Too full of confusing thoughts and emotions that don’t make any sense. 

“You said you’d dance with me,” Evan reminds him, a little too softly. 

“I- I did.” Eddie swallows past all the new, contradictory feelings trying to rise to the surface.

For your mer DCA AU!

What is eclipse’s new situation like after the escape from the pirates? I know you said he works with a small fishing business, but where does he live? Does he have any friends? How did he get the job in the first place? What’s his new boss like?

After escaping it would be a few months before he'd manage to find a home of his own - aside from finding a new job, there'd be the process of getting himself officially recognised as a sentient robot (this is a world setting where sentient robots can have rights if they are able to prove they have free will/thought) and after that getting a bank account opened so he can start being paid for work.

The town he ends up at is a small fishing town and it has housing for the fishers who work there for low rent. After getting the job Eclipse was able to secure one of these houses close to the shore. I kinda imagine the area he lives at is similar looking to this:

Funny Answer: if they can catch it. they will eat it. this includes seagulls. The only exceptions are animals that are actively poisonous/venomous like Jellyfish or Sea Urchins, but honestly they still might try.

"Sorry! Sorry! Ren is really sorry!"

Almost immediately, webbed fingers move to cradle your face closer to his as wide, ocean-blue eyes peer into your own. Ren doesn't seem to process your concerned tone (nor the rest of your words), instead focussing all of his attention on the way your body shook from all the salty water you'd just been swept into. And yet despite the clear worry evident on his features, Ren's touch remains gentle as he pushes a few strands of blue hair from your face.

"Ren will go fight the nasty wave later! Is Alian okay? Does Alian hurt? Tell Ren where!"

"Ren believes he can do it too, b-but... But Winndy's bed is warm..."

Strong arms come to pull you back into his chest, before his head nuzzles its way into the wavy expanse of your hair. He doesn't seem to mind the warm rays of sunlight peeking in through your curtains, nor the way he could feel Persey jump onto the bed to curl up by your feet.

"Do you really have to go to work today? Stay here with me instead... We can even sit in the bathtub again! Now that Ren has legs instead of a tail, I can fit better!"

"You're the angelic one."

He retreats behind the safety of dark bangs once more; clearly not wanting you to see the pained expression on his face. He can feel his hands twitch by his side too, though he doesn't act upon the urge to reach out and hold you — not this time. Instead, he simply stands there, eyes cast downward as his thoughts plague his mind and devour any semblance of confidence he had left.

This side of him isn't appealing. No one would like him like this. No one could love him as he is.

"You're too kind f'your own good. Bright, too." A genuine smile forms at the thought of you. "Y'need a heart of gold to love someone like me."

merman suguru overestimating how long he can go without water. he insists to y/n he's perfectly fine as he flops along by their side, only to pass out moments later from dehydration. y/n panics and drags him by his tail to the nearest source of water around

Hi hi hello!! I just wanted to say that I adore your art, specifically your mer!Jonathan art!! Is there a story behind all the au characters that you’ve drawn so far, or a plot you have in mind for the au beyond silly hijinks and shenanigans? /gen

It was someone else's suggestion to begin with, and I rolled in the brainrot for a bit, and then rolled along more with what others continued suggesting. Now there've been so many neat takes (half of which are still in my inbox im sorry i don't know how much i'll get to) that I can't decide between this or that and have just taken to being goofy about it. I think the selling point of pirate era aus like this is in how believably you can execute the background lore, historically and otherwise, and I'm not very good at that, so there's a point where it gets hard to imagine the scenarios properly...

But yes if there were to be a linear story within the au, I'd love it very much, that would be the best version of it. The sexy period au with mature themes, deep feelings, and dark sea lore. A girl who is just a bit jaded and aloof who meets someone so completely out of her depth (literally) that she can't help developing a fascination, new and unexpected feelings, allowing herself the vulnerability of love, etc. I don't picture her being super edgy or anything, just maybe not being in touch with her feelings, or not used to having relationships she feels she can be vulnerable in. Like. I genuinely think the most important part of the au is Erina. It could be point-for-point Phantom Blood, mermaidified and liberties taken, but Erina being a pirate is the special spin that makes it unique and adds all the new spice to the dynamic.

Tl;dr, I don't trust myself to create the version of the au that I'd like the most so I'm just vibing and having fun (admittedly also why jonathan's only fishy feature is his tail, in this house we do in fact enjoy a mer design with more fishy features)

RIDDLE SUFFERING HOURS YAAAAAAAY

oh oh and jade would join in too!!! Maybe it's late and riddle goes to return a book he borrowed from you and of course your room door is open so he walks in to you being spit roasted by the twins!!! Omg or double penetrated and all your limbs are tied up and pinned down....by a few tentacles :D

They would make you continue the interaction with riddle as if you arent being stuffed and groped and when you say thanks to riddle, someone gives a hard thrust so you end up moaning out riddles name aaaaaaaaa the poor bby cant handle all of this!!!! His tent is becoming more obvious and ofc the ever so benevolent mer folk are willing to let him use their little toy! All riddle has to do is swallow his pride and ask.

Omg this is the most Riddle’s ever struggled with a question in his life. Does he put aside morals and pride to have sloppy seconds, or does he hold his head high and try to be the better person? He probably says no the first time, so flustered and speechless that he can hardly think coherently, and his body reacts on its own, carrying him out the door even though part of him wants to see you. >_<

But then you’re all he can think about in the coming days, and Riddle’s plagued with lewd dreams of you. He’s never felt so distracted and perpetually horny before, his thoughts straying to you in the middle of a lecture. He knows he’ll just prove Azul right by admitting the obvious, but he has so much pride and he refuses to be a gross pervert like some people (the trio). So he adamantly denies wanting anything to do with you, lying to both himself and Azul whenever he teases Riddle with mentions of you, saying things like how you’ll be free and completely alone tonight, how you’re in need of a tutor, how you’d like to borrow another one of Riddle’s books. :) by the end of the week, he can’t stand depriving himself of you. You’re his crush! How can he possibly pretend to dislike you and the idea of having sex with you?

He hates the eerie smirks the trio wear when he walks into the Mostro Lounge, snapping at Jade that he’d like to speak with Azul. He’ll pay the price just this once, even if it means he’s subjected to ridicule from the slimy fish. Anything for a night spent with you. <3
