❁ ❁  She had gotten the ‘excuse’ part of it right, but certainly wasn’t a good excuse at all. No good excuses existed when it came to her mother, which was unfortunate.

Silence pierced the atmosphere as she continued to sternly stare at the girl, in front of her a broken frame that stood in between them. Thankfully, not a single shard had gotten to her, & she wouldn’t have been this upset if she hadn’t kept telling her white lies.

‘A ghost did it!’ ‘Pepita did it! It’s not my fault.’

Did she not know that her mother’s number one pet peeve was being lied to? Visibly, the girl was slowly becoming irritated herself as she wasn’t being let go of–but perhaps if she told her the truth, then the discussion could have easily been done minutes ago.

It hadn’t helped that she sneaked into her parents’ room as well, which, for the most part, was off limits unless permission was granted. There was nothing in particular to hide, but privacy was one of the main reasons as to why they didn’t allow many in. Suspicion began to surface as she observed her carefully, knowing there must have been a reason for her to glitch her way into the room to lift that picture frame in the first place.

All she had to do was just tell her why, but it was becoming more difficult as they let this drag on. & if she thought that time would wear her mother out, it was best of her to reconsider that.

“  You have three seconds to tell me the truth before I decide that you aren’t going to have any dessert for the next week o so.  ”
