Bufflehead ♀️ The way I try to photograph diving ducks is kind of funny. My approach is similar to the red light, green light game. When the duck dives, I run towards it for about 3-4 seconds, then kneel down before it pops back up. I do this until I'm in close range to get a decent shot. I won't say it works 100% of the time, but I does help! Common Goldeneye ♂️ with a juvenile Herring Gull. They actually weren't hanging out together. I was focused on the Common Goldeneye, and as it started swimming away from me, I just happened to catch this frame as it swam past the Gull.
