Jerking him off in front of a standing mirror, making him watch himself crumble under your touch as you pump his length from behind, you can see every bead of sweat glistening off his body as he tries to fight the pleasure. His pathetic little whimpers travel to your ears and you hold his head still so he has to watch you tormenting his aching cock. “Fuck- I- mmm, gonna cum” his weak voice calls out before shooting his load all over the glass, you chuckle as you watch it roll down slowly, creating a abstract image as aftermath of what just happened.

Dean Winchester: the boyfriend that acts like he’s the best thing since sliced bread, but is secretly worried about if you’d like the gift he got you for your anniversary
Sam Winchester: the boyfriend that would sit with you in your apartment and watch crappy reruns of your favourite show, snugged under a blanket and sipping warm coco with marshmallows
Castiel: the boyfriend who would be completely clueless about why you enjoy doing *activity* but would happily join you in it anyway, because he knows you like it, and that’s good enough for him

can you do overprotective with dean winchester?
from this prompt list 🩷: https://www.tumblr.com/wolvietxt/764960124626403328/overprotective-sunshine-is-about-to-do-something?source=share
DEAN’S voice cut through the air, sharp and unyielding, stopping you mid-step on the wooden ledge.
“what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
you froze, looking over your shoulder to see him stalking toward you, his expression hard enough to rival stone. his green eyes burned with something between frustration and fear, and it pinned you in place like a physical force.
“we don’t have time to waste,” you said, trying to keep your voice calm. “i’ll go first and make sure it’s stable.”
dean’s jaw clenched, and his boots ground into the gravel as he closed the distance between you. “no. you’re not stepping foot on that thing.”
“dean - ”
“don’t dean me,” he snapped, cutting you off. “you’re not doing it.”
“someone has to,” you argued, gesturing toward the rickety bridge swaying precariously over the canyon. “we can’t just stand here debating.”
“then i’ll do it,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. “no way in hell am i letting you go out there first.”
“why does it always have to be you?” you shot back, your irritation bubbling to the surface. “i’m not some damsel you have to protect, dean. i can handle myself.”
“it’s not about that,” he said, his voice dropping low, rough with an emotion he rarely let slip. “it’s about me not being able to handle it if something happened to you. so stop being stubborn and let me do this.”
his words hit you harder than you expected, and for a moment, all you could do was stare at him. he didn’t look away, didn’t try to soften the intensity of his gaze. it was like he needed you to understand, to take him seriously.
you sighed, stepping back slightly. “fine. but if you fall, i’m not carrying your ass back up.”
the corner of his mouth twitched, almost like he wanted to smile but couldn’t quite manage it. “yeah, yeah,” he muttered, turning toward the bridge.
he tested the first plank with his boot, his movements deliberate and cautious. the wood groaned under his weight, but it held, and he took another step. you watched, your hands clenched into fists at your sides as he made his way across.
“dean,” you called, unable to keep the worry out of your voice.
he glanced back over his shoulder, his expression softening for just a second. “i’m fine. just hang tight.”
it felt like an eternity before he reached the other side and turned to face you.
“all right,” he called. “your turn. take it slow.”
you stepped onto the bridge, your heart hammering in your chest as the wood creaked beneath your feet. you kept your eyes on dean, his steady gaze a lifeline as you moved forward.
when you finally reached him, his hand shot out, grabbing yours to help you over the last step.
“see? no big deal,” you said, though your legs felt like jelly.
“reckless,” he muttered, but his voice lacked its usual bite.
“overprotective,” you shot back, your lips twitching into a smile.
“damn right,” he said, his eyes scanning your face like he was memorizing every detail.
you opened your mouth to respond, but before you could, dean leaned in, his lips brushing against yours. it was soft at first, tentative, like he wasn’t sure if you’d pull away. but when you didn’t, he deepened the kiss, his hand cupping your cheek as his thumb brushed against your skin.
when he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, and he let out a shaky breath. “you drive me crazy, you know that?”
you grinned, your fingers curling into the front of his jacket. “yeah, but you love it.”
he shook his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. “don’t push your luck, sunshine.”
you giggled, the sound light and unburdened as the tension between you melted away. for once, you let yourself lean into the safety of his presence, knowing he’d always be there to catch you.

dean and angel!reader headcanons *°࿐
⭑ when you first met the winchester brothers, dean decided straight away that he didn’t like you. he initially saw you as nothing, but a “self-righteous little feathered nuisance” who didn’t have a clue how the world worked. but as the months passed, he slowly grew fond of you, enjoying your endearing little quirks and the way you were so intrigued by the world around you; he realised you were so much more than just a celestial being. he also loved the way you and castiel would interact like siblings. cas actually played a huge part in helping you bond with both brothers.
⭑ of course his favourite petname for you is angel, but his other favourites include: little bird, dove, birdie & feathers. they started off as a way to mock you initially, but they stuck, and now they’re only said with love. he always enjoys calling you sweet thing, pretty girl, sweetheart, lovebird etc. anything that makes your pretty little face light up.
⭑ dean adores how fascinated you are by the world and by humanity in particular. the way you ask odd little questions and quirk your head as you absorb information. he loves watching things click in your brain and the soft gasp you always expel as you put two ‘n two together in your head.
⭑ his heart continues almost burst every time you make jokes and reference things he’s taught you about— like movies, pop culture moments, music. he finds it so heartwarming because he sees himself reflected in you. he loves that you like what he likes, and that you’ve grown to adapt his sense of humour.
⭑ dean loves how overwhelmed and moved you get by music, especially by sappy poetic songs that he hates. he puts up with your music taste because he loves how your eyes sparkle when you dance and sing along.
⭑ dean just thinks you’re the sweetest little thing. he constantly second guesses himself and wonders why you’re choosing to be with him. he thinks someone as beautiful and as pure as you deserves someone better than him.
⭑ dean noticed early on how you took a liking to certain things like colours, scents, textures. he goes out of his way to pick you little flowers that are your favourite colour or buy you candles with your favourite scent. he also took notice of things you didn’t like, and consequently keeps you from dealing with them— like sticky textures or the feeling of crumbs in his bed (he’s working on that, he swears.)
⭑ dean had to teach you about sleeping when he kept waking up to you sitting on the end of his bed, watching over him as he slept. what he doesn’t know is that most of the time you pretend to sleep. you’d never let him know, but you pretend simply because you enjoy being in his arms overnight. it’s the only time you get to see dean completely unguarded; his features relaxed and his face almost boyish.
⭑ sam watched dean fall in love with you without realising. after months, he had to finally tell dean to make a move. it almost blew dean’s mind when you reciprocated your feelings. he wasn’t used to the warm ‘n fuzzy feelings in his chest, but with you they became natural. a constant. and he wouldn’t have it any other way now.
⭑ dean considers you the light of his life. he’s always making jokes about you being heaven-sent for him. he’s completely enamoured and in love with his little birdie.
⭑ dean had to learn to be patient with how sensitive you can be. as an angel, you always assumed that people were more good than evil, so being on the receiving end of harsh words and treatment used to upset you greatly. dean labelled you a crybaby at the beginning, hating how you’d look so sad and pathetic with your tear-filled eyes. he never understood why your tears made his chest ache, but now he does, and he’s vowed to never make you cry again…. unless it’s out of pleasure that is.
⭑ sex was a tricky subject for you and dean initially. he was cautious and wanted to take things slow— he knew that mentally you were a virgin, so he wanted to be good to you. the first time you went all the way, he immediately knew that there was nobody else for him. the way you looked at him with such trusting soft wide eyes and the way you moaned out his name made his knees weak. he loves seeing your face all blissed out, your neck all marked up and your skin glistening from sweat. your soft little sighs of pleasure make him go truly crazy though.
⭑ you’re very sensitive to the feelings of people around you. dean’s emotions were no different. you saw how closed off he was when it came to his feelings and dealing with things. with gentle prodding and patient kindness, you’ve managed to get him to open up a little— granted it is still a work in progress, but he’s doing better. he trusts you.
⭑ you insist on doing weekly bodily scans for dean— and sam too. you just wanna make sure your boys are healthy. heaven knows how much damage dean’s poor liver takes. a little zip and it’s all better. dean says once a week is “a bit over the top”, but you disagree; you aren’t taking any chances when it comes to your love and his brother. you want them happy, healthy and safe.
⭑ dean loves when you just start rambling and info-dumping about whatever you’ve decided to learn about that day, even if it’s a subject he’s completely uninterested in; if you’re interested, then so is he. he has to stifle a laugh if you get a fact wrong or say something entirely untrue with full confidence. he always just nods along and when you’re done, it’s always “very good, my little lovebird.”
⭑ dean knows you don’t really understand the concept or reasoning of marriage— you’re an angel, why would you? but you’ve come to the conclusion that it’s worth it if it makes dean happy… and you’re not entirely opposed to becoming mrs. winchester or being bound to him officially.
A/N: are these too specific?? idk but dare i say angel!reader is neurodivergent coded??? i think yes!! anyways i’m lowkey sick as hell rn and this is poorly written ofc but enjoyyy <3

wishful thinking
-warnings// angst, mentions of smut but no real descriptions
lil summery// Sam has a little crush on deans girlfriend a just little sad
Dean x reader... with a little Sam x reader (just a lil bit)
word count// 3450
(Gif from pinterest)
You groaned as the light came through the window blinds, rolling over to hide in your boyfriends warm chest, Dean chuckled running his hand up and down your bare back "not ready to wake up gorgeous?" He asked kissing the top of your head "no. My plans revolve around staying in bed with my pretty sexy, and very nude boyfriend" you mumbled against his chest, dragging your hand down his chest and down his stomach
You jumped back when you heard a loud knock on the door "are you two almost ready? There was another attack last night" Sam called through the door, "Just taking a shower then we'll be out Sammy" Dean yelled back, you looked up at him confused "baby we showered last night" Dean chuckled, rolling on top of you, he smirked down at you, his amulet hanging down his neck "yeah but I just bought us some more time" Dean flirted as he pressed kisses down your neck, already making your eyes roll.
Sam leaned against the impala, growing more and more impatient as the time moved on, with a final sigh of annoyance he went back to Dean and your shared motel room, "Dean I've been waiting almost an hour dude serio-" Sam started to yell but was quickly cut off by the door opening revealing you dressed only in deans long red flannel, your cheeks red and your hair a mess "I'm sorry Sammy, we'll be right out in two minutes, I swear" you told him quickly shutting the door in the stunned Winchesters face
Sam was in awe of you, ever since you and Dean came to get him from Stanford four years ago he knew there was something about you that just warmed his heart, how kind you were to him and when Jess passed, you let him cry in your arms many nights after, how beautiful you were, how smart you were, you were like a walking encyclopaedia. He knew how wrong it was, having a crush on Deans girlfriend. he just couldn't help himself
Every day was an internal battle for Sam, he wanted you, he wanted you more than he's ever wanted anything, but he sees how much his brother loves you, and that's what kills him even more, he would never want to hurt his brother. He just couldn't help himself, especially when he heard your moans through every crappy motel walls, hell he's even walked in on you both going at it more times than he'd ever like to admit, you would think after the eitgth time Dean would learn to lock his damn door.
It definitely didn't help Sam keep himself composed when he was popping boners left and right with the images of you after being fucked, even if wasn't by him flash through his mind constantly.
"Alright, give us the run down Sammy" dean said as he drove away from the red room motel Sam stayed quiet as he tried to avoid looking at you sitting in the back seat "Sammy!" Dean called loudly snapping his fingers in his face startling the seasoned hunter "w-what?" He stuttered out confused "gives us the run down... are you feeling good, not like you to be so out of it man" dean turned to look at him quickly worry evident in his voice
"Yeah fine just tired. didn't sleep great" Sam mumbled out tucking his growing hair behind his ears "you sure sweetie? you look a little pale, maybe your coming down with something. c'mere let me check your temperature" you said leaning into the front to feel his forehead "w-what no no I'm fine not sick I'm just tired so just drop it and leave me the hell alone!" Sam said flinching away defensively, if you touched him right now he was definitely gonna go crazy
Dean turned to give Sam a hard look "watch it Sam, she was only trying to help you, no need to bite her damn head off!" Sam snorted "whatever" he pushed himself as close to the passenger side ignoring his brother for the rest of the ride his eyes stared hard out at the road as he tried to focus on the hunt... and not how good your breasts look in that shirt .
Dean looked at Sam then gave you a concerned look matching your own in the rear view mirror.
When you got to the Swanson house you both decided to let Sam take the lead in questioning considering he didn't give you any details on the death, what he suspected, could be demon, ghost... literally anything at this point.
"Any idea what's up with Sam?" You asked Dean watching as Sam spoke to the victims heartbroken husband, Dean sighed his eyes narrowed at his little brother trying to figure out what's going on in his head "not a clue but I'll talk to him about it" dean grumbled out squinting his eyes at his younger brother.
It was a quiet drive back to the motel , Sam was laser focused on watching the blurs of houses and cars, you couldn't help yourself but looking at him worried, you were sure he could feel your eyes burning a hole into the back of his head. Even if he did feel it he never let on, never acknowledged you or dean were in the car too.
Once Dean parked baby Sam was rushing out toward his motel room. Dean slammed the car door annoyed before turning to look at you his hard eyes softening "I'm gonna talk to Sammy see if I can get him to talk about wheatever the hells bothering him" dean told you before planting a soft kiss on your lips "okay baby, I'm gonna take a walk and go grab us some snacks and beer, hopefully Sammy opens up to you" you wrapped your arms around deans neck, his own on your hips as he had you pinned tight against the impala
Dean shook his head pulling baby's keys out of his pocket "your not walking anywhere sweetheart, I trust you'll take care of my baby, and my baby will take care of my sweetheart" dean joked making you giggle, your cheeks heating up as you licked your lips "you Dean Winchester are a man of many surprises... and I quite like that about you" dean caught your lips once again in a soft kiss his tongue slipping into wrestle with your own before giving your ass a hard smack. You gasped and pulled away your body feeling hot at his actions
You put your hands on deans chest lightly pushing him away from you "alright I better go, good luck talking to Sam" dean shook his head his green eyes turned to look at Sam's closed motel room door sighing "yeah I'm gonna need it".
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Your nerves were all over the place as you walked around the small corner store. You hated when Sam and Dean would fight, on one hand, Dean is your boyfriend you can't help but take his side most of the time, but Sam was your best friend. It just put you in such a shitty position until the boys eventually swept it under the rug. You grabbed a bunch of snacks because you knew Dean was an angry eater and he usually stuffed his face with liquorice and chocolate after any arguments, or if you were having make up sex and dean was still a little mad he'd eat something else...
You opened the door to your motel room so see Dean pacing the floor his hands running through his hair, clearly he was frustrated and seemed pretty anxious "how'd it go sweetie?" You asked him setting the bag of goods and beer on the table "I- uh- fi-fine yeah I guess" dean stuttered out as his pacing continued "dean what's wrong? Is it bad- oh my god please sit down your freaking me out!" You snapped grabbing deans arms stopping him from moving any further "it's nothing I just... look you know how much I care about you. Id do anything for you no matter what it was, I just when you talk to Sam please remember that" dean told you his hands coming to rest on the sides of your face his worried eyes staring into your own
"Wha- talk to Sam? Dean what's going on why do I need to talk to Sam?" You were freaking out why the hell was Dean Winchester, the man who hides what he feels on the daily pouring his heart out to you now of all times. Dean leaned in catching your lips in a slow sensual kiss, pulling away to rest his forehead against your own "I promise everything will make sense if you talk to Sam" Dean whispered "okay let's go" dean shook his head immediately "I don't think I should be around Sammy right now I'll wait for you here" okay now you were officially freaking the fuck out
You nodded slowly and headed out to towards Sam's motel room next door. You stared at the red door taking a couple of deep worried breaths before knocking. It took three seconds after the last knock until the younger Winchester was opening the door his cheek looking slightly swollen "hey... come on in" Sam said moving to the side to allow you in "hey... so what's going on? Dean seemed pretty upset" you told him, Sam sighed and ran his hands down his face his eyes closed tight "it's stupid. It's so stupid I just don't know what to do anymore I've been... fuck this is hard-" "Sam! Spit it out please!" You yelled cutting off his rambling
"....Y/N, I think I'm in love with you" once the words left Sam's lips your whole body froze. You felt like the air was sucked right out of you. "You what?" You asked "I think I'm in love with you... it started a couple of years ag-" "Years! what the fuck do you mean years Sam? How many?" You cut him off "i- I lost Jess and then you... you were there for me and it just kinda escalated from there. Look I don't want to feel like this. I don't want to be in love with my brothers girlfriend, I've felt like the worst person in the damn world every day because of this... I just I can't help it" Sam confessed
"Sam Jess passed four years ago. Are you telling me you've had feelings for me since then?" You asked him calmly and he nodded quickly "honey I don't think your in love with me. I think you went through an extremely traumatic experience with Jess and me being there for you every day. I think your confusing the feelings you had for jess to me. Sam, I love you because your my best friend... and I'm with dean and I haven't even told him yet but I love him Sammy..." you told him and Sam took a deep breath "I uh i guess I never thought about it like that. I think your right I'm confusing my feelings I had for Jess to you" Sam agreed making you relax
"I'm sorry I sprung all this on you and Dean today. When you put it like that it makes sense... I mean Jess was the love of my life… I even had a ring. Before you and Dean came to Stanford I had it all planned out, then it was taken away from me in the blink of an eye... and dean still has you-" Sam paused taking a shaky breath "I guess I'm just jealous of you guys, of what you have with each other. I've never seen Dean love someone so much and that's why me feeling like this bothered me so much because I want my brother to be happy and I want my best friend to be happy too" Sam ended his speech and you had tears falling down your cheeks feeling your heart break at his words
"Sammy I'm so sorry about what happened with Jess. You deserved to have the happy life you always wanted with her" Sam nodded his eyes filling with tears he sucked in a harsh breath of air "yeah.... I miss her every day. I just... I want what I had with her back- I want Jess back, I see you and Dean and I want that. Jesus I fucking had that. Life deals me the crappy hand of yellow eyes and Jess has to pay for it?" Your cheeks were wet with tears, you couldn't help but bawl at Sam's words. Life had been so cruel to the Winchesters
"I know honey... I know. It's not fair, I know you feel like Jess was the one for you but sam, I only met her once and I seen how much she loved you. She would want you to get out there and find the girl your meant to spend your life with, it's not me, but she's out there... she's just waiting for you to find her" you smiled taking his big hand in yours and giving it a comforting squeeze. Sam nodded slowly
"I really i appreciate that Y/N, I'm glad this crap got brought out. Talking to you has really made me feel a lot better about this so thanks, I uh do you mind giving me some time just to think. I kinda want to be by myself now" Sam told you and you nodded heading towards the door, Turing to take one last look at the sad giant "we're right next door if you need anything at all, okay Sammy?" His lips curled in a soft smile and he gave you a quick nod.
Once the door was a shut you leaned against it your hand going to your chest as you took a deep breath, hunting gouls was easier than that damn conversation. Your heart was beating like crazy thinking back on every word, Sam thought he was in love you, I mean of course he wasn't. He was in love with the idea of you... of love that's what he wanted.
You squeezed your eyes shut to calm down before going back to your and Deans room. You opened the door to find Dean sat at the edge of the double bed, his head facing the ground as his hands ran through his hair “Dean?” You called to him. His head snapped towards you his feet moving faster than the rest of his body as he stunned his way toward you “Y/N…. H-how’d it go? Did you-” “talk to Sam… yeah we had a long talk. I think everything’s gonna be just fine now” you told him
Deans shoulders visibly relaxed, his arms wrapping around you and pulling you into a hug “thank god… thought I was gonna have to kick his ass” dean joked but you thought back to Sam’s swollen cheek. You pulled back from the hug and gave dean a hard look “Dean Winchester… did you punch your brother because of me?”
Dean shook his head quickly “no of course not… I punched him because he told me he wanted to be with my girlfriend, maybe had he phrased it better to me I wouldn’t have lost my temper but if someone tells me they want to be with my girlfriend and they’re in love with her… I’m gonna loose my shit” you tried to hide the small smirk from your face by leaning in to give dean a hard kiss on his soft lips “that’s really sweet baby. Please don’t fight with Sam because of me, seriously we had a really good conversation tonight”
Dean noodles slowly “can you tell me what you talked about?” You smiled and sat down on the bed and pulling Dean with you so you were both laying down on the hard mattress “well he told me he was in love with me-” deans arm around your waist grew tense as he pulled you closer so your head was resting against his chest “but we talked about things and we got to talking about Jess and-” you paused taking a deep breath and looking up at dean to find him already looking at you
“Sam is still hurting over Jess. He was confusing his love for Jess to love for me, thats all, he’s not In love me. He’s in love with the idea of love because he had that, then he lost it in the blink of an eye and then he sees us together. He just needs some time and he needs us to help him get back out there find a distraction, hey maybe even find the love of his life like m-” you stopped yourself quickly, Dean opened his mouth to say something but you quickly jumped back in
“We should take him out tomorrow, there’s a bar down the block. I saw it when we were driving earlier, it looks like it could be fun, what do ya say?” Deans eyes crinkled as he smiled lovingly at you. He loved how much you looked out for Sammy, it’s part of what made him fall in love with you. “I’m down, any time I get to spend with you I am down for it” dean told you taking your hand in his placing a soft kiss to it “how about we crack open those beers over there eat some junk food and watch a little Dr sexy?” Dean suggested. You smiled and nodded your head “i love that idea” you leaned up to give him a quick kiss before he grabbed the goods.
You were hours into the doctor sexy marathon you and dean had unintentionally started. Deans arm hung loosely around your waist while you cuddled comfortably into his warm side, your leg wrapped loosely around deans hips. You looked up to see deans green eyes lolling to sleep slowly, still somewhat awake “dean?” You whispered, his eyes opened quickly and he let out a low “yeah?” And turned his gaze to you “why were you so nervous earlier? Before I went to Sam’s room?” He sighed his body tensing slightly under you “I just… I hated the idea of you talking to Sam about his little crush on you because well, your my girl… and I love you” dean rushed out the end and your head snapped up
“You what?” You asked your chest suddenly feeling tighter like your heart was about to explode “i love you sweetheart” dean told you more clearly this time. A smile immediately overcame your face as you rushed down to press a hard kiss on deans lips. Dean responded right away, his hands wrapping around your hips to pull you on top of him… well more than you already were
You pulled back slightly from the kiss pressing your forehead against his “I love you too Dean Winchester, so fucking much baby” you giggled your lips brushing against his in each movement. Dean pulled you back into another deep kiss his big rough hands squeezed your ass before moving up your waist to pull your shirt off leaving you in your black lacy bra. Your squealed into deans mouth when he ripped your bra in half, pulling the ruined fabric off off your arms baring your breasts to him. Deans lips detached from your swollen ones, he attacked you chest immediately placing kissing app over your chest, sucking love marks all over you, especially on your sweet spot to mark his territory.
Sam who was in the next room slammed a pillow over his head to drown out your screams of pleasure, Sam lied to you earlier, he meant it when he said he was in love with you. But when he saw your panic and how you talked about your one for his brother he panicked and wanted to take each word back, that’s why when you mentioned it being confusion over his love for Jess he jumped at it. He would never do anything to hurt you or dean he loved you both way to much to ever even think about doing that to either of you, that’s why he was just going to have to swallow his feelings and curse chuck for not having you both meet first. He wished every damn night that he met you before dean, constantly living in guilt Sam knew he had to take his feelings for you and bury them deep inside of him, a life with you was just wishful thinking for the younger Winchester.

Hey pookie, how are you! I was wondering if you could do a romantic spn pref for sam, dean, castiel, crowley, and gabe? The plot would be that they're on a hunt with the reader and they have to infiltrait a strip club. The reader is female so she poses as a striper (she wears a white angle outfit). At one she pulls she pulls one of the guys into a private room to talk about the plan, but they see a camera in the room so the reader gives the guy a lap dance while explaining the plan as to not get caught. There is alot of sexual tension, and the guys have a crush on the reader. At this point they're only friends though. Thanks girl!
Private. (SPN Pref!) ❤️
a/n: i devoured this prompt. i am in heat. i hope you like this pookie!!!
warnings: SUGGESTIVE!!! read at your own risk, strip club, stripper!reader, lap dances, grinding, no actual smut but nsfw xx
Dean:
dean didn’t imagine this being his wednesday night.
his eyes watched you on the stage, walking around and pretending to be busy. the dainty Angel costume you were wearing hugged you in all the right places - just enough for him to imagine more.
in his distraction, he dosent realize you’re trying to get his attention.
he was suddenly pulled into one of the back, private rooms. he looked over and met your pretty eyes. he smiled.
“dean, i got info.” you smiled, closing and locking the door behind you both.
he was going to respond but his eyes caught something else. a camera. it seemed like you noticed too because you sighed.
dena watched you pull the chair to where the camera faced.
“sit.” you said in a seductive voice.
it’s just for the bit.’ dean reminded himself. he shakily sat down.
you walked toward him, back facing the camera. his eyes widened and face blushed as you started to give him a lap dance.
he was stiff as a board, too nervous to move.
“at least pretend you like it. we have to sell it so we don’t get caught.” you whisper in his ear, pressing kisses to his jawline.
shivers went down his spine and he nodded, grabbing onto your hips.
he stared into your eyes as you spoke, only being able to focus on the feeling of your hips on his, moving and grinding against him. his jaw clenched and he bit his lip, rubbing your hips with his thumbs.
you spoke about the case but he could barley hear you.
eventually you stopped, smiling at him.
“pay up, lover.” you grinned playfully.
he tried to hide his boner, giving you a forced smile as you walked away. his breath heavy and cheeks beet red.
—
Sam:
sam was nose deep in one of his papers of his research he scraped together. his cheeks were red, trying not to look up at you.
not because he didn’t want to - no. he wanted to. more than anything. but if he did, he knew he wouldn’t be able to look away.
despite his efforts, when he felt a hand on his shoulder he had to look up. it was you.
the white angel outfit you were wearing caught his attention. it was tight and revealing, something he wasn’t used to seeing you in.
“come with me.” you lean down and whisper to him. he just nodded, following you.
he then found himself sitting on a chair in one of the back rooms.
“there’s cameras. i have to play my part sammy.” you said to him, and he nodded
“anything you want.”
he blushed again as you started to give him a lap dance. his eyes widened.
you spoke softly about the case, but he could only focus on your body and how it moved atop of his own.
he pretended he was listening, but he was struggling. only feeling the fogginess of his mind and the weight of your body on his lap.
it was over much too soon for his liking
you got off of him and smiled.
“maybe we do this more often.” you said with a smirk.
—
Castiel:
poor boy
remember when he first went to the strip club
that’s him but x10 when he sees you
he’d never seen you in such clothing. not that he was complaining at all. if anything, he was ecstatic about it.
when you met his eyes from across the room, he got up and walked toward you immediately. you didn’t even have to ask (😍)
he followed you into the back rooms.
“cas. i gotta give you a lap dance.”
“what?”
“i’ve gotta play my part. is this okay?”
“…yes?”
castiel didn’t know what a lap dance was.
so when you started to actually do it
wowowowowow
he was gobsmacked.
his hands rested on your waist and he let you do whatever you had to do.
he bit back moans as he was so sensitive
but he listened intently to what you had to say about the case. his hips moved slightly with your body and his face was bright red.
he focused on your words but his eyes drank in how you moved against him and how his hands squeezed your hips
he could feel his dick throbbing against his jeans but he knew he couldn’t do anything about it
you got off of him eventually and he stayed sitting.
“c’mon. we gotta go.” you grinned and walked out before him. he was left with shaking hands and a red face.
—
Crowley:
he watched all of the people at the club with wandering eyes, stopping when he saw you
your outfit fit you perfectly and hugged you in all the right places
crowleys eyes wandered down your body as you came closer to him.
“come.” you said softly, leading him to the private rooms. he smirked.
“now, i didn’t know you wanted this, y/n.”
you just smirk and sit him down in the chair.
you start the lap dance, bringing your mouth close to his ear and whispering the plan to him, grinding your hips against his.
his hands ran over your body and hips, feeling the curves of your body and the softness of your skin
he was grinning, listening to the plan while also enjoying the thrusts and movements of your body
he wanted you to continue for hours. days. forever
but when you got off of him, he had to refrain from pulling you back onto his lap.
—
Gabe:
his eyes were on you from the start
he watched you with a passion, drinking in your appearance and how your white costume looked on your body.
the body he’d dreamed about seeing for months
that’s why he follows you into the back room without question
that’s also why he has to bite back moans when you start grinding against his lap, dancing
he watches with wide eyes, trying to listen to your words but drowning them out as he squirmed against your body weight
he gripped your hips and waist just a little bit too hard
he nodded along to the plan he wasn’t following, just watching your hips and body against his own
he let a groan slip from his lips at one point
his hips moving in rut him with your own
literally driving him insane.
but he’s not complaining

Flowers
Castiel x GN!Reader
i love his eyes. that's it, that's the tweet. guys...this is very sweet but i don't know if i'm satisfied?? tell me what you think, writing castiel is very hard, lawd
Summary: In a hunt, a flower appears over your pillow after you come back to the motel room at night. Who left it there?
Warnings: FLUFF, TOOTH-ROTTING FLUFF, i pictured s4/5 cas in this, use of y/n, sweet confession, NOT PROOF READ, that's it? english isn't my first language
WC: 2.5k
You can learn how to change Y/N for your actual name here
enjoy!
When you started hunting with Sam and Dean one of the last things you expected to encounter was an Angel, especially after discovering they aren't “harps and halos" like in the books you read as a kid, but instead soldiers and sometimes assholes.
Castiel was an exception to the “asshole” part, he was actually very sweet when it came to you and the boys. Helped you, saved you and cared for you. In that sense, Cas was just like the Angel stories, a guardian of the humans he was in charge of.
And for you, it was fun teaching Cas about humans and how they behaved, helped him when he didn't understand Dean's pop culture references, got him to watch classic movies and listen to music and he was always very keen into doing so, curious and intrigued in what you explained to him.
Those big blue eyes always gave you his full attention, sometimes with that little frown that you started to call “The Angel Frown” while he questioned you about something that, to you, was basic knowledge. You were always as patient as possible with him, always clarifying what you could in words he could understand and that ended up always making him come to you for help.
In conclusion, you and Cas got closer and you started to catch yourself staring when he wasn't looking, admiring his smiles, drowning into his sapphire eyes and wishing that he had just more doubts about how people acted so you could spend more time with him.
You knew, from what Castiel told you, that Angels and feelings, human feelings at least, weren't compatible and that things such as love and romance weren't truly a reality for him and his siblings, they were warriors after all, created to serve their Father and that was it.
Even when Castiel rebelled for the Winchesters, letting go of the “I don't serve men” mindset was difficult but you, Dean and Sam were there for him. You were more understandable then the brothers because you knew Cas was trying his best.
And because you fell for the Angel, but nobody needed to know that.
One night you arrived at the motel room you were staying at, after waving goodnight to Sam and Dean, them going to their separate room.
You opened the door and sighed deeply in exhaustion. It had been a long day of questioning and more questions appearing then those answered. At first you guys thought of a vengeful spirit, then cursed object, then witch. All of those possibilities were still up and it was driving you three insane. People were dying and you felt useless.
Once you closed the door and threw your stuff in the closest table you turned to your bed, where your bag was placed to get some clothes to take a well deserved shower. But, when you looked at your pillow, you noticed a single pink flower sitting over it and you furrowed your eyebrows.
You approached the flower slowly, skeptical about it, your hunter instincts telling you this wasn't good news. You slowly reached for it, as if it could bite your hand off, and picked it up. You analyzed the plant, very confused and grabbed your laptop.
You searched until you found a flower similar to the one you were holding and learned it was a Camellia. You looked between the screen and the flower and you searched up what a pink Camellia meant because, as much as you knew, flowers weren't really something you looked into.
What you found was shocking. According to the internet, a pink Camellia represents admiration and appreciation and Camellias and general represent love and affection. You widen your eyes at the flower in your hands, looking around your empty room as if someone would pop up and explain what this was doing at your bed. Wrong room?
You couldn't think of anybody that could give you this willingly. It definitely wasn't Sam or Dean because, first, they spent the whole day by your side and, second, unless they meant it platonically, the boys didn't see you like that. You loved them and they loved you, of course, but, to them, you were like a sister Dean loves you like he loves Sam, the same way Sam loves you like he loves Dean and vice-versa.
The only person that came to your mind was…No, it couldn't be, he said himself, love for him was basically unachievable but you couldn't help but wonder, even if your rational brain said it was stupid to think Cas would mean that. You smiled at the flower, that tinge of hope lightning inside you.
You looked around the room to look for something you could fill up with water and found an empty beer bottle. That'll do.
You washed the bottle to get the smell of alcohol off and filled it up with water, placing the little flower inside.
The pink color of the petals clashed with the transparent green of the bottle and you smiled at that. It looked cute in a way. You thought, even if this didn't come from someone you knew, you were keeping it, at least the flower.
You left the makeshift vase in your nightstand and took your stuff to the shower, peeling off your suit and your tie on the way, leaving it on the ground as you locked yourself inside the bathroom.
In these moments, Cas thanked his abilities of becoming unseen because you arrived just as he was leaving the Camellia over your pillow. He spent the day researching flowers, finding an interest in how humans always gave them to the people they cared about or to the ones who passed. He wanted to give you one to show you that he cared for you and also as a thank you for being patient with him for a long time.
He always felt happier around you, a warm feeling inside him always seemed to bloom. He felt the need to be close to you, like you were a human magnet. Everytime you looked at him he felt a weird feeling in his stomach, your smile was always something he felt the need to chase, he wanted to see it always in your face. He admired the way your eyes would shine when you were talking about something you liked.
When he saw you placing the flower on the nightstand with a smile he felt that weird feeling in his stomach again. He would do anything to see that look on your face again.
That hunt lasted a week, taking you three too long to figure out it was a witch and even longer to find said witch and to say you guys were fed up was an understatement.
For that long week you dared to say you missed the Angel, you thought about calling him, praying to him, multiple times but what were you going to say when he arrived? Missed you? I just wanted to see you?
Everything you thought sounded too intimate so you discarded the idea of calling him.
But two more flowers appeared on your pillow after that pink Camellia. A Peony that you learned meant for the Chinese something along the lines of “the most beautiful” and a stunning Carnation in a light red shade that represented admiration. At this point you were very intrigued about who was the one giving you the flowers, Castiel still on your mind. You didn't want to get your hopes too high, you were probably overthinking it anyways, making your heart speak louder than your brain.
You were lying on your bed, staring at the tiny bouquet of three flowers given piece by piece to you. It was your last night in that room, Dean having insisted he needed the sleep so as to not crash the Impala from tiredness. You had offered to drive as you weren't as bad as he was but, of course, that was an immediate no from the older brother so all of you settled for one more night.
As you close your eyes and start to fall asleep, a sudden flutter of wings gets your attention. It's dark in the room so you take a peek and for sure it's Cas. You hold back a smile and close your eyes, pretending to be sleeping.
You feel the Angel approaching the bed, his presence making your heart quicken in your chest. From what it sounds like, he's just standing, watching you and you start to feel very nervous.
Castiel on the other hand arrived to see your sleeping form and couldn't help but watch. You looked peaceful, your breathing was calm and you looked…pretty. Cas thought all his father's creations were wonderful but he felt like you could top them all, literally, in your sleep.
He had another little flower in his hand which, to him, had a very self-explanatory name, a Forget-Me-Not.
He spun the blue flower on his fingers, debating if he should leave it inside the vase or besides you, over your pillow.
He approached you and while he was placing the flower next to your head he felt a gentle hand wrap around his wrist and instantly froze on the spot.
You opened your eyes and looked at his near-horrified face. You smiled at him.
“Got you” You said, a little above a whisper and looked at the flower he was holding. That one you knew the name and what it meant and you felt warmth spreading through your cheeks, not just at that one flower, but knowing now that all those flowers you received came from Cas.
“I'm sorry for disturbing you” He said as he retreated his hand and you held the Forget-Me-Not. He was tense, not looking at you.
“So you were the secret admirer leaving me these flowers?” You asked as you slowly sat up on the bed and placed the blue flower inside the bottle with the three others. You placed both your hands over your lap, fidgeting nervously with your fingers. “Why?”
He looked around. What was he supposed to say? Himself barely knew why he was doing this but it felt right so he kept going with it. He noticed that the flower meanings resembled things that he felt or thought of you and he enjoyed collecting them for you, especially after you kept them.
“These flowers all have a meaning behind them” He started “Take them as a thank you for…being helpful with my understanding of human behaviors”
You smiled stupidly at that. The way he said it sounded like something he had rehearsed before coming to you to say it, the words too polite. But yet, that's one of the things you liked about him.
“You didn't have to Cas…They are beautiful, thank you” You said and looked at the flowers again, biting your lip. You felt his eyes on you, it was always intimidating. You knew that it was just the way he was, look right into your eyes while you talk to show you had his full attention, his beautiful blue orbs hypnotizing.
Cas analyzed every aspect of yours as you sat in front of him, his eyes wondering over your figure and his hands moved faster than his thoughts and he reached for your shoulder, his palm traveling from your shoulder blade to the end of your upper arm and back up, tracing a pattern over your skin. He longed to touch you and be closer to you in a way he couldn’t explain so, in this moment, you both alone, he decided to fulfill this wish.
You widened your eyes and looked up at Castiel who was entranced by the movement of his hand, goosebumps flaring up on your skin.
“Cas?” You said and acknowledged your call with a hum “What are you…?”
He finally looked at you, his hand steadied on your shoulder.
“When I’m around you I always feel this need to touch you, be closer and this…” He shakes his head, finding a word to define how he felt. “Warmth comes over me everytime you smile”
His eyes bore through yours and you could only stare back at him, shocked.
“Cas, you’re saying–”
“I think I might love you, Y/N” He interrupted. The way he said it sounded like a confusion, a slight approach, as if he was tiptoeing around the thought, not sure if he wanted to grasp it or just keep his distance.
You were dumbfounded. He sounded so sincere and your heart started to beat faster, his hand over your shoulder felt like it was burning through your skin. It all made sense, the flowers, the way he was always keen on talking to you even when you did most of the talking and he just listened with a faint smile and pure interest, he just didn’t know because he never felt like this before, he didn’t know what loving was like.
You landed a hand over his cheek, your eyes practically watering with an emotional overload at his words. You thumb rubbed the light stubble on his cheek and you pulled him in for a hug. You wanted to kiss him so bad but you were on a baby steps basis with the Angel.
You hugged him tightly, his hands hesitantly wrapping around your frame as you let out a deep breath. When you pulled back, you didn’t pull away completely from him looking between his eyes and his mouth, a giddy smile on your face.
“I think I might love you too Castiel” You said and he widened his own eyes, a light chuckle coming out of you at his reaction.
Your chuckles were cut off by his lips on yours and you gasped in surprise. His mouth was as soft as you expected, his lips moving against your in perfect sync. He was impressively a good kisser, one of his hands gently holding at the back of your neck while the other slid down to your waist.
You felt like a bomb had exploded inside you, a foreign feeling of happiness spreading to every single cell on your body as your arms wrapped around his neck to hold yourself when he sat on the bed, pulling you over his lap, making you yelp.
You both pulled away, your arms still wrapped around each other and he had a light smile on his face. You one hundred per cent had a shocked look on yours, your cheeks hot and breathing heavy.
“Where’d you learn that?” You asked, absolutely knocked by the kiss.
“Dean told me a thing or two” He said and you couldn’t help but laugh, your body shaking against his as he also chuckled. “It seems like I did great?”
You stopped your laughs and looked in his eyes, drowning in their ocean blue. You gave a peck to the corner of his mouth.
“You did amazing” You said as one of your hands played with the hair at the nape of his neck and he pulled you in, the warmth spreading through both of you yet again, never wanting to let go.

Being so horny all day at work so much to that you go to your boss, who just so happens to be your secret lover and ask him for some assistance. He immediately agrees and tells you to hop on his lap so he can help satisfy you. You feel his warm breath on the nape of your neck as he whispers “relax baby, I’ll make it all better.”
his hand finds it way into your soaked panties and immediately gets to work “gonna take such good care of this needy little pussy.” He whispers as he circles your sensitive and swollen clit, applying just the right amount of pressure to have you squirming in his lap.

unwanted calls
PAIRING: Castiel x reader
SUMMARY: you don’t like to talk on the phone, you prefer people texting you. Castiel always seems to break this rule.
WORD COUNT: 475 (this is short, sorry gang)
A/N: not proofread, also I used a prompt generator for this…
You were driving back to the Men of Letters bunker after finishing up a simple witch hunt.
You felt your phone buzz beside you, and you briefly glanced over at it.
It was Castiel, calling you.
Letting out a groan, you accepted the call and pressed the phone to your ear.
“This better be important.” You grumbled, waiting for Cas to start talking.
The familiar monotone voice soon rang out, “How was the hunt?”
You raised an eyebrow, unamused. “You called for to ask that? You couldn’t have waited until I got back to the bunker?” You questioned.
“Hell, you could’ve texted it to me.” You added as an afterthought.
Castiel was rendered speechless for a second before he sighed and replied.
“You wouldn’t have seen the text until you got back then,” Castiel noted, and you bit back a scoff.
That was true, you thought, you probably wouldn’t have seen the text until you got back to the bunker.
“Okay, well, still…” You huffed, taking an exit on a road that led to Lebanon, Kansas.
“Sorry, I’ll make sure to text you next time.” Castiel assured, “Mind telling me how the hunt went now?”
“Oh, the hunt went good. Just a simple witch.” You replied with a quick clear of your throat.
Castiel let out a hum of acknowledgment on the other line.
After driving in a few minutes of silence, you voiced a question that was in the back of your mind for some time now.
You always noticed that Castiel never texted you, he always called. Especially when you explicitly told him not to.
He continued to do it anyway. To be honest, if he needed to talk to you so urgently he could just teleport over to you and talk to you then.
“Why do you always call? You do know if you need to talk me so bad then you could just teleport to wherever I am.” You stated plainly, taking another turn down a road.
Castiel was silent for a second time, and you grew slightly concerned. Cas always seemed to have something to say, whether it was him spewing information about some supernatural creature or asking a simple question about something.
It took a few minutes before Castiel replied, it was a quiet reply. So quiet you almost didn’t catch it.
“I just like hearing your voice.”
That caught you off guard, your eyebrows raising almost comically.
“Oh.” Eventually, a smug grin tugged on the corner of your lips.
“Well just wait until I get back to the bunker and I can chat with you all you want.” You chuckled, listening to Castiel almost eagerly reply with an ‘okay’.
You hung up the call and placed your phone back beside you, and you could’ve sworn you sped up a bit more to get to the bunker faster.

the boy at the library ~ sam winchester
In a small town somewhere in America, you were at the local library completing your weekly shift. Sam Winchester was busy trying to do research on a case he and his brother were trying to crack but when he couldn't find a book he was looking for he decided to ask for help.
"Excuse me," he said awkwardly, towering over you. "Do you know where I can find a book on demonology? It's for research purposes." he awkwardly smiles.
You looked at the tall boy standing at the front of the desk, he seemed to be about your age, maybe a year or two older. Usually, you were not one to find attraction to people immediately but this boy was entirely captivating.
His brown hair was slightly tousled and his shirt was untucked and messy. He had such a cute college boy look to him but his eyes told a different story, his eyes looked as if he had seen through the life of ten men at once.
"Yes, it's in this aisle, what's the book name I'll help you look? " you walk out to him and lead him down the array of aisles.
Sam was taken aback for a moment, his heart skipped a few beats as you agreed to help. He was used to having people be instantly intimidated by his tall built physique and cold demeanour and yet, you seemed different.
"Great," he said, clearing his throat and trying to remain cool. "The book is called 'Tales of Demonic Encounters.' It was written by a Reverend named Thomas Harries. Ever heard of it?"
"As a matter of fact I have. " you immediately lead him down the stream of books in the aisle and pick out the book he wanted. It was tucked amongst the mass of other religious and mythology series the library had in stock.
The book you pull out was on a higher shelf but you were still able to reach it. It was a thick leather bound book with a collection of dust on it. Sam stands directly behind you and places a large hand atop of yours to help you remove the book. A slight blush flushes a little across your cheeks at the contact.
Sam tries his best to stay calm as you retrieve the book. Your scent fills his nostrils, a mixture of sweet roses and something distinctly endearing.
He feels your hand beneath his, smaller and more delicate than his own. His heart races as his fingers brush against your skin, the contact sending a spark through his entire body. He releases your hand before taking the book from you, your fingers lingering on each other for a few more seconds than necessary.
"Thanks," he says, looking at the book in his hands before looking back to you. "You're a lifesaver."
"Say, what's a boy like you doing studying about demons? " you lean against the shelves and cross your arms against your chest.
You eye Sam up and down and notice a slight pink tinge on his cheeks similar to that of yours. "You seem like a more law type of guy- " you raise an eyebrow waiting for his name.
Sam feels a wave of nervousness wash over him as you ask the question. He knew he couldn't give you a straightforward answer, not without raising suspicion. He had to think fast. "Oh, you know," he says, forcing a convincing smile. "Just a hobby of mine. I'm interested in mythology and such. “
He glances down at your crossed arms, his eyes lingering on your figure for a moment before he looks back at your face. "The name's Sam Winchester. " he says, his voice a little quieter now.
"Sam, cute. " you stick a hand out at him, "Y/N. " you say, giving him a small smile. Sam takes your hand in his own, his grip firm but gentle.
"Y/N. " he repeats, savouring the way your name rolls off of his tongue. "That's a beautiful name. Suits you. " he lingers for a moment, not wanting to let go of your hand just yet.
"So, a demon hobby, huh? I dabble a little in mythology as well. " you shrugged, peeking at the stack of notes he had in his hand.
Sam notices you glancing at the notes. They were mostly sketches of demonic symbols, and the occasional drawing of a grotesque demon head. He realises that he has to be careful, he couldn't let you see the truth.
"Oh, yeah," he says, casually hiding the notes behind his back. "It's a fascinating subject, you know? Not for everyone, I suppose. But I find it intriguing."
"No, I understand. People think I'm crazy for wanting to major in mythology and dark arts. They look at me like I'm going to do some demonic thing to them. " you laugh slightly, gesturing to yourself, clad in a plain white shirt with a red flannel over it and some jeans. "Do I look demonic, Sam? "
This was said as a joke but you noticed something changed in Sam's demeanour. He tried to remain calm, but your mention of demonic things puts him on edge. He knows that he has to play his cards right.
"Demonic? No, not at all," he responds, forcing a smirk. "Quite the opposite, actually. You look kind and friendly." He glances down at your outfit, trying to keep his expression neutral. "Besides, I think you'd make a terrible demon," he adds, his tone lighthearted.
"A terrible demon? Why'd you reckon? " you place your hands into your back pocket and look into his eyes. They were this pretty blue colour that you couldn't help but get sucked into. You notice him also observing you in the same way.
"Well," Sam says, his gaze still fixed on yours. "Demons are cunning and manipulative. They prey on people's weaknesses and desires. But you seem different. More authentic, and honest." he takes a step closer to you, his tall frame towering over you. "It's refreshing, in a way. Almost, entangling... alluring."
"Oh. " you trail of feeling a little spark of excitement in your stomach as he steps closer. His smell wafts through your nose, very cinnamon centred with a hint of oak. He towered over you, your face barely peeking over his shoulder.
Sam notices how much smaller you were than him. It was endearing, in a way. It made him feel protective, wanting to keep you safe. He leaned down closer to you, almost unconsciously. The air between you grew heavy with tension.
"Honesty is important," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I think demons can be a tad dishonest every now and then."
"You seem to speak from personal experience? " you tilt your head, looking up at him through your eyelashes.
Sam freezes, realising that he said too much. He mentally scolds himself, cursing his slip-up. He steps back, creating a small distance between you. He tries to keep his face neutral as he laughs it off.
"No, not really," he said quickly, forcing a smile. "I just have a lot of experience talking to people, that's all." He glances down at the book he borrowed, then back up at you.
"Oh I understand Sam. " you peek out of the aisle to make sure no one saw you two.
"Sit. " you take a seat on the floor and gesture to Sam to sit beside you. He complies, the space just barely enough for his long legs. Sam feels a mixture of nerves and curiosity as he sits down next to you, his knee barely brushing against your leg, sending a small shiver down his spine.
Taking the book from his hands and laying it between you so you both could see, "What are you looking for in here? "
He glances down at the book and ponders your question. He couldn't tell you the truth, not about demons anyway. He had to come up with something plausible. "Just doing research," he says eventually. "Studying up on some demonic lore, nothing too fascinating."
"Come one Sammy, give me more than that. Maybe I can help. I do study these types of things. " you lightly bump his shoulder, giving him a smile.
He looks at you, seeing the genuine offer to help. He knew he should keep you at arm's length, keep you safe. But he couldn't resist your smile, your kind eyes. "Okay, fine," he relents. "Honestly, I'm trying to find out more about demons and what they're capable of."
"Any specific type you're looking for? From my knowledge of the type of mythology I study there can be different types. " you continue to explain your studies to him. There was a warm feeling in you as you noticed him listening intently to you, his eyes never leaving your face. You were passionate about the subject, and your excitement about it was contagious.
He felt his heart beat faster as you spoke, hanging on to every word. It was endearing to see you so animated and knowledgeable. "Different types of demons? I never realised," he said, despite already knowing what you're saying. "I thought they were all the same, just evil creatures of the night."
"Well they are, but you see they all have different purposes. Some make deals with humans, you know selling your soul and stuff - "
Sam's eyes widen as you mention demons making deals, a sudden jolt of adrenaline shooting through him. He tries to keep his composure, praying that his reaction didn't give anything away.
"Deals?" he asks, as casually as possible. "Like, making deals for people's souls? That kind of thing?"
"There's this myth that if you sell your soul to a crossroads demon, they kill you off after ten years. " you whisper.
Sam's heart races at the mention of crossroads demons. He knew all too well the truth about them. "Crossroads demons," he says, his voice low. "They're tricky bastards, that's for sure. Do you believe that? The ten year deal, I mean."
"Well, it's a myth right? " you laugh but then notice the serious look on Sam's face. "Can I be honest with you Sam? "
Sam glances down at you, his face serious but also curious. He doesn't know what to expect from the question, but nods at you to continue. "What is it? "
"I do believe that there's something out there, like the supernatural. Ever since I was a kid I felt like that. I thought by studying about it in university, it would help me understand. "
Sam looks at you in disbelief, not knowing what to make of your confession. He had never met someone so open about this kind of thing. To be so willing to believe in the supernatural without much evidence was...refreshing.
He leaned in closer as you spoke, hanging on your every word. "You've always felt that way?" he asks. "Since you were a kid? You've never wondered if perhaps it's just your imagination?"
"I think it was maybe just my imagination but hey, it's still interesting to learn about I guess. "
Sam smiled at your response, finding your unwavering belief in the unknown fascinating. Your willingness to explore this world of shadows and demons without fear was admirable.
"Interesting is one word for it," he says, his tone slightly humorous. "Most people run for the hills at the mention of anything supernatural."
"True. " you agree, laying your head against the book shelf behind. "What got you interested? "
Sam leans into the shelf as well, his body just barely touching yours. He tries to keep a level head, but it's becoming increasingly difficult.
He thinks for a moment, before replying. "Let's just say interest runs in the family. " he says. "There's so much out there in the shadows that people don't understand. It's like a mystery waiting to be unravelled."
"A mystery waiting to be unravelled. " you are unaware of the reality of his words. Sam chuckles as he watches you ponder.
"What's funny? " you lift your head to look at him only to find him smiling at you.
Sam shakes his head, his smile growing wider. "It's nothing, just a thought," he replies, his eyes never leaving yours. He can't help but stare at you, admiring the innocence in your gaze. It was refreshing to see someone so curious and open-minded, someone who wasn't aware of the dark secret he carried.
"Share your thoughts with the class, Sam. " you place your hand on his.
Sam's heart skids in his chest as you place your hand on his. The feeling of your skin against his sends electricity coursing through his body. "Well - " he starts, his voice slightly more strained than usual. "It's just that I find it amusing that you're so interested in the supernatural, and yet you have no idea how close to the truth you actually are."
"The truth? What? Some demon is coming to get me? " you joke.
Sam lets out a strained laugh, shaking his head. "No, no," he says. "Just...you've got a good eye. You're looking in the right places. You never know what you might find."
The irony is not lost on him. Here he was, a professional demon hunter, sitting with a girl who was oblivious to the monsters that lurk in the shadows.
"And why would I want to find it? Look I may be interested in these things but hey if a demon showed up on my doorstep I'd shit myself. "
Sam laughs heartily at your comment. He imagines your reaction. "Well, I can't blame you there," he says, still chuckling. "Seeing a demon up close and personal is no joke. Most people would have a heart attack on the spot."
You noticed the honesty in his words and began to wonder, "Yeah, it must be scary. "
Sam nods at your response, his expression becoming a little more serious. "Yeah, it is," he says, his voice quieter now. "Demons are vicious creatures, dangerous and unpredictable. They'll stop at nothing to...well, let's just say they're not here to be your friend."
"Sam are you alright? " You turn fully towards him and take a hold of his hand. There is a tired look in his eyes that grows more prominent now in the dull light of the library.
Sam's hand instinctively holds onto yours, his grip firm but gentle. He looks down at your intertwined hands, letting out a soft sigh. "I'm just tired," he confesses, his voice weary. "I haven't had a good night's sleep in ages. It's like I can't escape..."
He catches himself, realising he's said too much. He quickly tries to put on a smile, trying to hide his exhaustion.
You couldn't help but caress his cheek, feeling slightly bad for the boy in front of you. He seemed like a genuine person who has been through a lot.
"I know how that feels, I have ADHD and sometimes it doesn't let me sleep at night. " you say, trying to be vulnerable towards him to show him that you were genuine.
Sam leans into your touch, the feeling of your hand against his cheek soothing. He glances at you, his expression a mixture of surprise and comfort.
"You have ADHD? I never would've guessed." he smiles at your attempt to relate to him, appreciating the gesture more than you could know.
"Was it all the fidgeting or the non-stop talking? " you laugh a little and so does he, a dimple popped out on his cheek that makes you look at him fondly.
"Maybe a combination of both," he says. "You're surprisingly bouncy and talkative. It's cute."
"Thanks. " you shrugged, "Most think I'm annoying. "
Sam looks at you, a look of disbelief on his face. "Annoying? Those people must be idiots." He shakes his head, still smiling at you. "You're not annoying. Far from it."
"You're nice Sam. " you brush your hands through his hair before your eyes land on the clock on the wall. "I've got to get back to my shift. "
Sam helps you gather up the notes he had borrowed, feeling a pang of disappointment as you prepare to leave. "Okay, yeah, of course," he says, still a little reluctant to see you go.
He gazes down at you, his eyes lingering for a moment. "Before you go," he says suddenly, a flicker of courage sparking inside of him. "Can I ask you something?"
"What is it? "
Sam's heart thumps loudly in his chest, his mind suddenly racing. He knew he was taking a risk here, but he had to ask.
"I was wondering if I could have your number," he says, his voice slightly shaky. "Just in case I need some more myth and lore advice sometime."
"Oh, yeah sure. " you smiled and pulled out a pen from a stack of the notes he had and wrote down your number on the top page of the stack before noticing a symbol he had scribbled down on it.
"I know this symbol. " you gently pull out the page and examine it closely. Sam looks surprised at the fact that you had recognised it.
"You know that symbol? " he asks, his tone a mixture of disbelief and caution.
"Hades. " you say, nodding your head. "Ancient Greek, I'm talking like really ancient. This was used as a summoning tool to get one of Hades' men to show up. People who had the means to call upon him used this to get a one way ticket to the underworld, kinda like skipping the whole dead line and passing all those judgement people. "
"That's what this is? A summoning tool? " he glanced back down at the paper. "How did you get that so fast? "
"I study this Sam, kind of my speciality. " you say.
Eyes widen as you easily identify each symbol, one after the other. Sam can't help but feel a pang of worry mixed with fascination. Were you simply a mythology enthusiast, or was there something more to your vast knowledge?
"Okay, so all these symbols have something to do with summoning one one Hades’ men, Thanatos, but there's a piece missing. "
Sam's mind races as he takes in your words. He swallows hard, trying to keep his cool. "What piece is missing? " he inquires, keeping his voice steady.
"I'm assuming that's what you're looking for? The missing piece? You're not going to find it in this book then. " you say.
"Not in this book, why's that? “ he asks.
"This book is filled with Christian lore. You're not going to find anything here. You need ancient Greek lore. "
He sighs, his shoulders slumping slightly. "Damn," he mutters. "Ancient Greek lore, huh? Any idea where I might find something like that? “
"Follow me mister, I do still work here after all. " you walk past the book aisles to the other side of the library where the ancient Greek and Roman books were situated. "Here they are. "
Sam’s mind was still racing from your earlier revelation. He takes in the unfamiliar titles surrounding him as you stop in front of a shelf filled with ancient Greek and Roman texts.
"I hope you can read ancient Greek. " you laugh. "I'll leave you to it though, my supervisor will kick my ass if she doesn't find me at the front desk. Let me know when you're done though. "
Sam chuckles at your joke and gives a nod as you prepare to leave. He watches you go, appreciating the help you've given him so far. "Hey, wait," he calls out suddenly, a thought crossing his mind.
You stop in your tracks and turn back to him, "Yes? "
Sam hesitates for a moment, wondering if he should ask his question. But then he decides to just go for it. "Since you're so knowledgeable about all this lore, can I ask you one more thing? " he inquires, his eyes searching yours for a response.
"Fire away. "
Sam chews on his lower lip as he considers how to phrase his question. He didn't want to sound crazy, but he had to ask. "Alright," he begins, his voice slightly shaky. "Hypothetically, if someone were to want to call upon Thanatos, how would they do it? “
"Summon Thanatos, seriously? " you wanted to laugh but then noticed the serious expression on Sam’s face. You cleared your throat and grabbed the pile of notes from his hand and assembled them onto the table.
It all formed pieces of a really weird puzzle and only the first piece was missing. "There you go, until you find the missing piece you can't do anything though. Whatever you have to do, it needs to be done in this order. "
Sam watched intently as you arranged the notes into a makeshift puzzle. He was impressed with your ability to piece together seemingly unrelated information, forming a clearer picture. He reaches out to the table, his fingers brushing across the notes. "And if I find the missing piece? " he asks, a hint of anxiousness in his voice.
"You call upon Thanatos, I presume. " you confirm. "That's what these symbols are. All demons are trapped in hell which is the underworld for the ancient Greeks. Get the right piece and I guess it's like opening a door for them. "
Sam nods slowly, absorbing your words.
"I'm assuming this isn't some kind of project. " you look at Sam with a serious and concerned expression laced on your face.
Sam's eyes meet yours, and he hesitates for a moment. He could feel your concern, and it tugged at him. He knew he shouldn't keep you in the dark, that you deserved an explanation, but before he can form a response, he's interrupted by a ringing sound from his pocket. He pulls out his phone and glances at the screen, his expression hardening.
Sam answers the call and turns away from you, his voice barely above a whisper as he speaks into the phone "What do you have, Dean? "
He listens for a few moments, his free hand running through his hair in a frustrated gesture. He glances over at you momentarily, making sure you weren't listening. After a brief moment Sam gets off the phone, his voice now hasty and laced with worry.
"I need to go," he says abruptly, his tone urgent. "Something's come up."
"Oh alright, well don't forget your stuff. " you help him gather the pages again and watch him stuff it into his bag.
Sam nods in thanks, his mind clearly elsewhere. He slings the bag over his shoulder and turns to look at you. "Sorry to cut this short," he apologises, his voice tinged with regret. "I'll make it up to you, I promise."
"Don't worry about it, whatever that was sounded important. " you smile and watch as he walks away fast from the library. You look out the window and watch him get into a black car with another guy as they drive away in a hurry leaving you to your shift.
~~~
"Find anything? " Dean asks Sam as they speed through the road.
Sam shakes his head, his mind still on the conversation with you. He was frustrated that he didn't have the answer yet. "Not yet," he replies, his voice tight. "But there was this girl at the library, she was surprisingly familiar with the symbols. “
"A girl huh? She's pretty? " Dean smirks at Sam before returning his eyes to the road.
Sam scoffs and rolls his eyes at Dean. Trust him to focus on that aspect.
"She's...interesting," Sam replies, trying to downplay it. "She knew a lot about the symbols, more than most people. “
"You think she's a demon? " Dean asked seriously.
Sam paused for a moment, considering the possibility. While it seemed far-fetched, it wasn't completely outside the realm of possibility. "No," he finally answers, shaking his head. "She seemed normal. Human."
"What'd she give you? Anything useful that would explain all these walking corpses around town? "
Sam reaches into his bag and pulls out the stack of pages filled with scribbled notes and symbols. "She was able to identify these," he says, shuffling through the pile. "And she explained what they were but we're still missing a piece. It’s like a puzzle. "
"Man, I hate puzzles. " Dean complained.
Sam nods in agreement, especially when your life, and other people's lives, depended on them. "Yeah, tell me about it," he mutters, rubbing a hand over his tired eyes. "But we have to figure it out. People are dying, Dean. We have to stop it. "
"Yeah I know. She say anything about the missing piece? Where do we find it? “
Sam shakes his head, sighing in frustration. "No, but she did say something about ancient Greek and Roman lore. So we might need to dig through some of Bobby’s old history books."
"Oh yay, love me the Olympics. " Dean rolled his eyes and pulled up to the motel they were staying at. They both rush into the room and shut the doors and windows immediately.
Sam sits down at the small desk, opening the laptop and immediately launching an online search for information on the mythology. He types in keywords related to their case and scans through page after page of search results, hoping to find something useful.
Dean cracks open a beer and begins looking through Bobby's old journals trying to find something useful to them. After about two and a half hours of searching they came up with nothing. "Damn it man. You're saying this library chick knew this stuff immediately? "
Sam shuts the laptop in frustration, rubbing a hand over his tired face. They had been at it for hours and still had nothing. "Yeah," he confirms. "She seemed to recognize the symbols right away, and knew what they were used for. It's like none of this was a surprise to her. "
"Sounds fishy man, are you sure she was human? " Dean takes a swig of his second beer.
Sam sighs and shrugs, his mind still lingering on your knowledge of the symbols. It was impressive, but it did raise a few questions. "I don't know," he admits, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
"You said she studied these things? Like as a degree? "
Sam nods, recalling what you had told him at the library. "Yeah, she said she was interested in these things, and she had studied them extensively. "
"Look, I know you're developing some sort of attachment to this girl but we might need her help, Sammy. " Dean looks at his brother, Sam's face was conflicted. He too didn't want to drag an innocent girl into this.
Sam frowns,he knew Dean was right, but the thought of putting you in danger didn't sit well with him. "I don't want to put anyone in harm's way," he argues, his voice a mix of concern and determination. "But you're right. We need her help, she's the only lead we have right now."
Sam hesitates for a moment, but he finally pulls out his phone and dials your number and waits anxiously for you to pick up.
You were about to close up the library when your phone rang all of a sudden. Fishing it out of the bag you answered the call, waiting for the caller to speak first.
As the call connects, Sam takes a deep breath, mentally preparing himself. "Hello?" he says into the phone, his tone laced with urgency.
"Hi, who is this? " you ask.
"It's Sam Winchester," he replies, his voice serious. "The guy from the library earlier today. Look, I need to talk to you about something important."
"Oh hi Sam, what can I do for you? " you asked, locking up the library and heading to the car.
Sam takes note of the sound of keys in the background. "Are you still at the library?" he asks.
"Almost about to leave, why? Did you forget something here? " you asked, now in the car tossing your bag in the backseat. There was a slight ringing in your head followed by a sharp pain. You reached back to your bag and brought out your painkillers.
"No, no, it's nothing like that," Sam reassures you. "But there's something I need to talk to you about in person. It's pretty important. Can we meet? "
"Yeah sure, how far are you from the library? " you manage to say after swallowing the pills.
Sam looks out the motel window, his gaze fixed on the street outside. "Not too far. We're staying at the Starlight motel. Room 4B. Can you come over here?"
"Oh, alright. Who's 'we' by the way? " you ask, starting the engine and pulling out of the parking lot.
Sam grimaces, realising that he hadn't really explained the situation fully to you yet. "Oh uh...my brother Dean's here with me," he admits, his voice slightly apologetic.
"Oh I see. I'll be on my way shortly Sam. " you say goodbye and make your way to the motel a little weary of why Sam sounded so urgent. For the sake of protection, you pulled pepper spray from the bag and walked up to the motel room, knocking on the door.
Sam and Dean hear the knock at the door, and Sam jumps up to answer it. He glances through the peephole and sees you standing outside. He opens the door and immediately his eyes widen at the sight of your pepper spray. "Whoa, easy there," he says, holding up his hands in a gesture of peace.
"Sorry, momma taught me to be safe. " you laugh and enter the room, pepper spray still in hand. There was another guy there you assumed to be Sam’s older brother. He was a little older than Sam, slightly shorter with green eyes.
Dean watches you as you enter the room, his expression a mix of curiosity and scepticism. He takes note of the pepper spray in your hand, silently assessing if you were a threat. But when you mention your mother, he barks a laugh. "Smart woman," he comments with a smirk. "Never hurts to be prepared. “
"I'm Y/N. " you extend your hand to the guy and he shakes it, telling you his name. You then turn to Sam, "What is it that you called me for? "
Sam motions for you to take a seat on the bed. He sits down next to you, while Dean stands by the window with his arms crossed. "Alright, this is going to sound a little strange," Sam begins, looking at you intently. "But there's something we need to ask you about. “
"Alright then, ask away. "
Sam glances at Dean, silently asking if he should reveal the truth fully. Dean just shrugs nonchalantly. Sam takes a deep breath and turns back to you. "Have you ever heard of demons before?" he asks, his voice measured and serious.
"Demons? " you laugh, looking back and forth between the brothers, "Like the ones in myths we were talking about today? "
Sam and Dean exchange a glance, amused by your scepticism. "No, not myths," Sam answers bluntly. "We mean real, authentic demons. Straight out of Hell."
"What? "
Dean leans against the wall, a cocky smirk on his face. "You think we're pulling your leg, don’t you?" he says, looking at your doubtful expression.
"We'll yeah, just little. " you eye Dean up and down.
"Look. demons are real and we need a way to stop them. " Dean blurts out, Sam gives Dean a warning glare. He had wanted to ease you into this revelation, not just dump it all on you at once.
"What he means is that we're hunters," Sam explains, his gaze fixed on you intently. "Hunters of supernatural creatures, like demons, monsters, and witches."
"Hunters? " you tilt your head, taking in the information.
Sam nods, his expression serious. "Yeah," he confirms. "We track and kill things that go bump in the night. We've been doing it our whole lives."
"Wait, this may sound crazy but do you know Bobby Singer? " you ask.
Dean immediately averts his gaze from you to Sam. "You know Bobby? " Dean stares at me.
Sam pauses, a little taken aback by your question. He glances at Dean, who looks equally surprised. "Yeah," he answers slowly, his curiosity piqued. "We know Bobby. How do you know him?"
"Bobby is my uncle. Well my dad's family friend, I used to see him a lot when I was little. He used to tell me stories all the time about how he was a hunter and he used to kill monsters like what you’re saying now. Of course he was a drunk so nothing he said was real but it still made me interested in mythology. "
Dean looks at you quizzically, his mind racing with questions. "Why hasn't Bobby ever mentioned you? " he asks, his voice laced with suspicion.
"He and my dad had this fight when I was twelve, never saw him since. "
Sam's eyebrows furrowed, "What happened between them? If you don't mind me asking. " he asks, his tone softer now.
"Something about a hunting trip gone wrong? I think my dad must've messed up and Bobby got angry. They used to go deer hunting often. "
Sam and Dean exchange a knowing glance. They both knew about the disastrous hunting trip Bobby had gone on with John. They had heard it from Bobby many times over the years.
"Must have been one hell of a hunt," Dean mutters, more to himself than anyone else.
"Wait but what does that have to do with demons? My dad hunted deer with Bobby, not monsters or whatever. Those were just stories. "
Sam takes a deep breath, knowing that the explanation was about to get more complicated. "It's a little more than that," he begins. "Bobby was involved in a different type of hunting. Supernatural hunting and now I think that your dad was involved too. "
"You're joking, right? " you look between the brothers confused.
Dean snorts with a sarcastic laugh. "Hell, I wish we were," he says, his expression serious. "But we've been hunting these things all our lives. Demons, ghosts, werewolves, you name it."
You swallowed hard, trying to hide the fear. "So what do you want from me? I'm not some type of demon or anything. "
Sam quickly senses your fear and places a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "No, no, we know you're not a demon," he reassures you. "We just wanted to ask you about those symbols. "
"Oh. " you eased up a little. "Well those are to summon Thanatos from the underworld like I explained. "
Dean leans forward, intrigued. "How do you know so much about these symbols? "
"Mythology 101 at Harvard. " you say, shrugging as if it were nothing.
Dean raises an eyebrow, clearly impressed. "Harvard, huh? Brains and beauty."
You blush at his words and fail to notice the annoyed look Sam gives his brother. He didn't miss the way Dean was eyeing you up and down.
"So anyway, what do you need me for? I already explained what there was. " you asked.
Sam rubs the back of his neck, slightly hesitating before speaking. "Well, we're trying to figure out how this thing got to earth and why someone would have wanted to summon it."
"And you think that I could help? "
Sam rubs his forehead, the exhaustion from the long day catching up to him. "We don't have anyone else to ask right now," he admits. "You said you know a lot about this, so we thought you might be able to give us some answers. “
You notice the exhaustion on both Sam and Dean's face and nod, agreeing to help them.
"Can you read ancient Greek? " Dean asks, placing one of Bobby’s old journals in front of you.
"Yes I can, a little rusty but I can do it. " you glance at this book and pull out a blank page to scribble down whatever you decipher. "This might take me a while, it's a lot and let's just say the grammar is terrible. “
Dean chuckles at your comment, his impatience showing. "Take all the time you need, sweetheart, we got all night. “
You continue pouring over the text, the brothers leave you at the table and do some research on the laptop. You were all busy for what felt like about three hours.
Sam and Dean had gotten so engrossed in their research that they lost track of time. Sam glances over at you at the small table and notices you diligently working on the ancient text. "How's it going over there? " he calls out.
"I'm almost done. " you say, scribbling the last few words on the page.
"That was quick," Dean comments, a hint of surprise in his voice.
"Thanks, I was the top student. " you walk over to them at the coffee table and sit next to Sam, placing the page of translated Greek in the centre.
"Damn, that's some impressive writing skills you got there, sweetheart," Dean smirks.
Sam gives Dean a warning glance, silently telling him to cut it out. "Dean," he says, his tone stern. "Give it a rest, will you? " Dean rolls his eyes and nods.
"Okay so from what was written the missing piece isn't a symbol but more of a chant that you say out loud as you assemble the pieces together. It’s a ritual. “
Sam rubs his chin thoughtfully, taking in your translation. “So if we do this, we summon whatever is bringing those corpses back? Thanatos, you said? “
You nod, confirming his words. "Yeah. it says you have to do it thirty minutes before the full moon rises and guess what moon it is tonight. "
"We have about an hour until we need to do this. " Dean says, looking at the time.
"Damn, you're right," Sam mutters.
You watch as the brothers scramble to get everything ready for the ritual. They pull out weird looking items in jars and bags with different types of smells. "You just casually have these things? "
Dean looks up from loading his shotgun with salt rounds and gives you a smirk. "We travel a lot," he says, his tone nonchalant. "We're always prepared."
Sam gathers the supplies and sets up a circle on the ground, carefully drawing symbols and diagrams around it. As they prepare the final items for the ritual you take a seat on the couch and rub your temples, trying to subside the oncoming headache.
With fifteen minutes to spare before they start you pull Sam to the side while Dean is busy. "Hey, are you okay? " you ask him, noticing the fatigue on his face.
Sam pauses, he can see the concern in your eyes, and appreciates your thoughtfulness. "Yeah, I'm okay," he replies, his voice a bit weary. "Just a little tired, and worried about what we're about to do."
He suddenly takes hold of your hand and intertwines your fingers, surprised by the comfort your touch brings him.
"It must be scary? Having to deal with all of this. "
“It is scary," he admits, his gaze meeting yours. "We've seen and faced things most people wouldn't believe exist. But we don't have a choice. We do this, or innocent people get hurt. Or worse."
"You're heroes. " you smile up at him.
Sam can't help but smile back, a hint of pride in his expression. "Thanks," he says, his voice softer now. "But we don't always feel like heroes. There's a lot of pain and suffering we've seen. Sometimes, we question if we're making any difference at all."
"One less demon on earth, I'd say that's a big difference. " you nod and place a soft kiss on his cheek. "It's almost time, you should join your brother. "
Sam's breath hitches and he savours the moment for a brief second, before nodding in agreement. "Yeah, you're right. "
You watch as they wait for the right moment to begin the ritual. Sam effortlessly says the chant as Dean readies himself for whatever may come with a blade in his hand. You move behind the couch, away from them to be safe and out of the way.
The room suddenly turned cold and the pain in your head grew more intense. Your vision clouds with green mist and as you make out a figure standing in the middle of the symbol that Sam drew.
You blink to clear the mist from your eyes and notice the figure at Dean’s foot, dead. Confusion washes over you and you realise that the whole thing was over.
Finally, Sam looks over at you and gives you a small nod. "It worked," he says, his voice filled with relief and exhaustion as if everything lasted a long time.
You stare as the brothers clean out the mess. Dean drags the figure outside to bury its body before you could get a close look at it.
You were left with Sam alone in the room. "I can't believe that just happened. " you say stunned.
"Yeah, believe me, it’s a lot to take in." Sam agrees.
"Wait until you find out about the angels. " Dean shouts from outside.
Sam chuckles at your astonishment. “Thank you for staying out of the way, it put up a good fight, you would’ve gotten hurt. “
You nod, having no idea what he was talking about.
"You okay? " he asks, genuine concern in his eyes. "You holding up alright? " Sam closes the distance between the two of you. In the dim light of the room, he takes a moment to look at you, his gaze lingering on your face.
"I'm going to be honest Sam, that sacred me but I didn't shit myself so I think I'll be fine. "
Sam throws his head back and lets out a hearty laugh at your unexpected response. There’s a hint of relief in his expression as he looks back at you. "I appreciate your honesty," he grins, still chuckling. "Most people wouldn’t be so calm after witnessing a demon exorcism."
"I'm definitely not going to be able to sleep tonight but that's nothing a little alcohol can't fix. "
Sam's expression softens. He can only imagine the shock and adrenaline rushing through your body right now. "You sure you want to go the alcohol route? " he says, a hint of worry in his voice.
"What other route is there Sam? I just saw the supernatural in real life, found out everything my drunk uncle Bobby told me was real. I think I deserve a drink. Heck, you deserve like five for dealing with this all the time. "
Sam lets out a sigh, knowing that you had a point. He can't really blame you for wanting to drown out the traumatic events of the night. “Well I wish I could catch a drink with you but there is still a lot to do. “
"There's more? I thought it was over. "
Sam shakes his head with a weary sigh.
"I wish it was that simple. There's still a lot of work to be done. We have to figure out who summoned this thing in the first place. It wasn't just a random occurrence. Someone wanted that thing on earth, and we need to find out why. "
"I don't suppose you'll be needing my help then. " you smile sadly.
Sam frowns at your assumption. He can't help but feel a pang of disappointment at the thought of you not being involved anymore.
"Well then Sammy, you know where to find me should you find yourself needing any assistanc. " you pulled him in for a kiss.
Sam is taken by surprise at your bold gesture, but he doesn't resist, letting himself be pulled in, his hand coming up to cup your face gently as your lips meet his. For a moment, all the chaos and danger of the world fade away.
"See you around. " you walk out the door leaving Sam staring.
Sam watches you walk out the door, his lips still tingling from the unexpected kiss. "Yeah, see you, sweetheart," he whispered, his voice laced with a hint of wistfulness.
ᰔ what really matters !
pairing : dean winchester x fem!reader warnings : shy!reader, crazy overthinking, friends to lovers, insecurities, implied anxiety, crying, hurt / comfort, jealousy, kiss, dean flirts w other people to show off, happy ending, size diff wc : 6.5k a/n : currently working on a part 2!
it was supposed to be a simple salt-and-burn. sam had found a lead on a restless spirit haunting a small-town diner, and dean, ever eager for some pie and action, had jumped at the opportunity. you’d tagged along, like always, quietly sitting in the back seat of the impala, offering occasional input between the brothers’ banter.
the plan was clear: investigate during the day, torch the bones at night. simple enough. yet somehow, being in close proximity to dean for an extended period always felt anything but simple.
“you’ve been awfully quiet back there,” dean said, turning slightly in the driver’s seat to glance at you. his green eyes lingered a moment too long, forcing him to correct the car’s steering. “everything good?”
you nodded quickly, avoiding his gaze. “yeah, just… thinking.”
“uh-oh,” he teased, a grin tugging at his lips. “are you thinking weird again? i told you, sweetheart, you don’t need to do that with us. leave the worrying to sammy.”
sam huffed from the passenger seat. “thanks for that, dean.”
you offered a small smile, unsure how to respond. dean’s words felt warm, like a blanket, but your mind couldn’t stop picking them apart. was he teasing, or did he mean it? did he think you worried too much? was it annoying?
you shook the thoughts away as the car rolled to a stop in front of the diner.
inside, the place was charming in that worn-down, small-town way. red vinyl booths, a jukebox in the corner, and a waitress who seemed to know everyone’s name. dean leaned against the counter, his usual swagger on full display.
“so, martha,” he said, flashing the waitress a smile that could’ve melted butter, “anything weird going on around here lately? cold spots, flickering lights, mysterious whispers…?”
you hovered awkwardly near sam, feeling out of place. martha’s eyes sparkled as she leaned closer to dean, completely ignoring you and sam.
“oh, weird stuff always happens around here,” she said with a giggle. “but nothing too scary. why, you boys hunting ghosts or something?”
dean chuckled. “or something.”
you shifted on your feet, pretending to study the menu even though you weren’t planning on ordering anything. dean’s charm was undeniable, and you’d seen him use it a million times to get information, but it always left you with a strange, hollow feeling.
not that it mattered. it wasn’t like he meant anything by it.
“you alright?” sam asked softly, pulling you from your thoughts.
“yeah,” you lied. “just tired.”
sam didn’t look convinced, but he didn’t push.
the rest of the afternoon passed in a blur of questions and notes. martha had mentioned a former cook who’d died on the job and hinted at some unusual occurrences in the kitchen, which gave you all a solid lead.
“we’ll dig up his records, find the grave, and salt-and-burn tonight,” sam said as you walked back to the car.
“easy peasy,” dean added, slinging an arm around your shoulders as he held the door open for you. “see, this is why you keep us around. all the hard work, none of the worrying.”
your heart jumped at the casual contact, but you forced yourself to focus. it didn’t mean anything. he was just being dean.
the graveyard was damp and cold by the time you arrived. armed with shovels, salt, and gasoline, you worked as quickly as possible, trying not to draw attention.
“you’re sure this is the right spot?” you asked, glancing at the headstone.
“positive,” sam said. “records match up.”
“don’t worry,” dean said with a wink, “we’ve got this.”
you weren’t sure how he managed to be so confident all the time. it was like he didn’t feel fear, or at least he never showed it. you, on the other hand, couldn’t stop thinking about what might go wrong. as the brothers dug, you stayed on lookout, flashlight in hand. the woods were eerily quiet, every rustle of leaves setting your nerves on edge.
“hey,” dean called, his voice pulling you out of your thoughts. “you good over there, sweetheart?”
you nodded, gripping the flashlight tighter. “yeah, just keeping watch.”
“you’re cute when you’re focused, you know that?” he said, grinning as he tossed another shovelful of dirt aside.
your face burned, and you quickly turned away, pretending to scan the trees. cute? he probably didn’t mean it. he said stuff like that all the time.
still, the word echoed in your mind, making it hard to think straight.
the ghost showed up right on cue, just as dean and sam hit the coffin. it was a tall, shadowy figure with glowing eyes, and boy did it move fast. too fast.
“stay back!” dean shouted, stepping in front of you as the spirit lunged.
sam was already throwing salt and iron, keeping it at bay while dean lit the match and dropped it into the open grave. flames roared to life, and the ghost let out an ear-splitting scream before vanishing.
you stood frozen, heart pounding as the grave smoldered.
“you okay?” dean asked, turning to you. his hands landed on your shoulders, steady and warm.
you nodded, your voice stuck in your throat.
“you sure?” he pressed, his green eyes scanning your face.
“yeah, i’m fine,” you managed to whisper, hoping the fear in your eyes wasn’t too obvious.
he didn’t look convinced but let it go, giving you a reassuring squeeze before stepping back.
the ride back to the motel was quiet, exhaustion settling over the group.
“not bad for a day’s work,” dean said, trying to lighten the mood.
you offered a small smile, but your mind was still racing. every little thing he said, every glance, every touch — it all felt so significant, and yet it probably meant nothing to him.
“you’re thinking too much again,” dean teased, catching your eye in the rearview mirror. “what’d i tell you about that?”
“it’s nothing,” you said quickly, hoping he’d drop it.
but dean being dean, he didn’t.
“come on,” he said, turning in his seat to face you. “spill it. what’s going on in that pretty head of yours?”
you froze, unsure how to respond. sam shot you a sympathetic look but didn’t intervene.
“seriously,” dean pressed, his voice softer now. “are you good?”
you nodded, forcing a smile. “yeah, ‘m just tired.”
he studied you for a moment, his expression unreadable, before turning back to the road.
back at the motel, you retreated to your room as quickly as possible, needing space to breathe.
dean had always been a little too much — too loud, too charming, too... everything. and yet, you couldn’t help but feel drawn to him, even if you knew it was hopeless. you sighed, flopping onto the bed and staring at the ceiling.
somewhere in the room next door, dean was probably cracking jokes with sam, completely unaware of the chaos he caused in your mind.
it was fine. it had to be fine.
because as much as you wanted to believe he saw you as more than a friend, you couldn’t risk getting your hopes up.
the day started like any other, with sam at the laptop, you poring over your notes, and dean bustling around with an air of restless energy.
“coffee?” dean asked, holding up a cup for you.
you nodded, offering a small smile. “thanks.”
he plopped down beside you at the motel table, his knee bumping yours. “so, what’s the game plan today, professor?”
“um…” you hesitated, flipping through the notebook in front of you. “so, i think we should — ”
“let me guess,” dean interrupted with a grin. “the safest, most boring route possible, right?”
you blinked, taking a second to process what he’d just said, hurt surely beginning to form in your features.
“it’s not boring,” you mumbled.
“sure thing… but hey, relax!” he said, patting your shoulder. “you’re good at what you do, even if you’re a little… well, a lot predictable.”
your stomach twisted. predictable? was that how he saw you?
“thanks, dean,” you muttered, staring down at your notes to hide the burn in your cheeks. sam noticed though. sam always noticed.
sam shot dean a look from across the room. “hey, maybe ease up a little, man.”
“what?” dean said, shrugging him off, a deep chuckle reverberating from his chest. “i’m just messing with her.”
the lighthearted tone didn’t soften the sting. you knew dean teased everyone, but his words stuck like a burr under your skin, refusing to let go.
soon after, the three of you piled into the impala, the rumble of the engine filling the silence as dean cranked up the radio. you stared out the window, letting the music blur into background noise while your mind replayed the conversation from earlier.
predictable. you thought, the word echoing in your head.
you weren’t mad at dean — how could you be? he didn’t mean anything by it. but the overthinking wouldn’t let up, weaving a web of doubt and insecurity that clung to you like static.
“you okay?” sam asked from the front seat, glancing back at you.
you forced a smile. “yeah. just tired.”
sam didn’t press, but his concerned expression lingered.
the diner was bustling with mid-morning activity when you arrived, the smell of coffee and sizzling bacon wrapping around you like a comforting blanket. you slid into the booth, hoping the noise would drown out your thoughts.
“what can i get ya?” the waitress asked, her voice cheerful as she slid the menus across the table.
“just a coffee, please,” you said quickly, barely looking up as your fingers fumbled over the paper.
“and a stack of pancakes,” dean added, leaning forward and giving her a grin that was just a little too easy. “extra syrup. gotta start the day off right, y’know?”
the waitress’s eyes lit up, and she laughed, her attention lingering on dean as she jotted down the order. there was something almost playful in the way she looked at him, an expression that made your chest tighten.
“you sure know how to charm, don’t ya?” she teased, her voice warm and full of flirtation.
“what can i say?” dean replied, that easy smirk tugging at his lips. “comes pretty easily when i’m speaking to women like you.”
you forced your eyes back to the menu, though you couldn’t stop yourself from glancing at the way the waitress’s fingers lingered on the pen, her attention still fixed on dean. the two of them seemed to be in a world of their own, and you were just... here. watching. waiting.
“what about you, sweetheart?” the waitress turned to you, her smile softening just slightly, though it didn’t reach her eyes.
“uh, just coffee, please,” you mumbled again, feeling heat crawl up your neck. your voice felt small in the noise of the diner, a whisper lost among the clatter of plates and low hum of conversation.
“gotcha,” she said, giving you a brief, almost dismissive nod before turning and making her way to the kitchen. you could still feel her attention on you, like an echo, but this time, it was empty, no warmth behind it.
dean shifted beside you, leaning back and letting out a low chuckle. “she’s got quite the smile, huh?” his eyes were teasing, his grin crooked as he looked over at you and sam. the joke was light, but there was an edge to it that made you feel off balance.
you forced a laugh, but it came out hollow, cracking under the weight of the moment. “yeah, sure,” you said, keeping your eyes fixed on the coffee cup in front of you, the porcelain cool and solid beneath your fingertips.
“you okay?” sam’s voice broke through the silence once again. dean’s teasing slipping away as his eyes studied you too. there was a flicker of concern in them, but before you could let yourself get lost in it, he added, “didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, sweetheart. it’s just... that kind of smile, you know?”
the question hung in the air, and you couldn’t tell if he was talking about the waitress or you. but the sharp sting of jealousy you felt at the thought made your throat tighten. you forced a smile, though it felt like a lie. “i’m fine. just... not hungry, that’s all.”
“you sure?” he pressed, his expression softening as he reached for his coffee. the playful energy had faded, and now there was something else, a vulnerability that felt rare for him.
“yeah,” you said, voice quiet. “just... never mind.”
he leaned back, eyes still on you, but this time, there was a shadow in them, a shift that made your heart twist. he looked away, watching the waitress as she came back with a smile that was just for him. his eyes softened, and he laughed as she spoke to him, teasing and warm.
it was almost too much, the way he could be so effortlessly charming. your chest ached with the realization that the way he looked at her was the same way he looked at you sometimes, though it felt different when it was just the two of you, alone in the dim light of the bunker.
by the time the food arrived, your appetite had disappeared. dean was still chatting with the waitress every time she came by, his voice low and easy in a way that made your chest ache.
you stared at your coffee cup, your fingers tightening around it as your thoughts spiraled. was this what dean wanted? someone confident, flirty, and self-assured? someone like her?
the sting of earlier comments layered on top, building a weight that felt impossible to carry.
“you sure you’re okay?” sam asked again softly, his voice cutting through the haze.
“fine,” you said quickly, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill over.
sam’s brow furrowed, but he didn’t push.
dean, oblivious, kept talking. “man, this coffee’s strong enough to put hair on your chest. might wanna ease up, professor,” he teased, nudging you lightly.
that was it. the dam broke.
you barely registered standing up, the chair scraping loudly against the floor.
“excuse me,” you muttered, your voice shaking.
you hurried out of the diner, your chest tight and your vision blurred.
sam found you a few minutes later, sitting on a bench just outside. he didn’t say anything at first, just sat down beside you and offered a quiet, grounding presence.
“you wanna tell me what’s going on?” he asked eventually, his tone careful.
you shook your head, unable to form the words.
“okay,” he said gently. “you don’t have to talk. just breathe.”
his arm slipped around your shoulders, pulling you close. the dam fully burst then, tears streaming down your face as you buried your head in your hands.
sam held you, his voice low and steady. “you’re alright. just let it out.”
his hand alternating between rubbing soothing circles on your back and tapping you lightly to the beat of your heart, the steady motions helping to calm the blur.
“‘m sorry, sam,” you choked out between sobs.
“don’t apologize,” sam said firmly. “you don’t even owe anyone an explanation. especially not dean.”
you flinched at the mention of his name, fresh waves of doubt and embarrassment washing over you.
sam seemed to sense it, his tone softening even more. “he doesn’t mean half the crap he says, you know. he’s just… dean.”
you managed a shaky nod, though the knot in your chest didn’t fully ease.
“hey,” sam said, tipping your chin up to look at him. “you’re okay.”
he pressed a light kiss to your forehead, the gesture warm and comforting in a way that made you tear up all over again. sam had always had a way of calming you down, knowing what was wrong and when. you were very similar in lots of ways.
inside, dean sat in the booth, fidgeting with his coffee cup.
“where’d they go?” the waitress asked, dropping off the check.
“outside,” dean muttered, his gaze fixed on the window.
he watched as sam wrapped you in a hug, his jaw tightening.
“everything okay with your girl?” the waitress asked, her tone light.
“she’s not my girl,” dean said quickly, his voice a little sharper than he intended.
the waitress raised an eyebrow but didn’t push further, the hint of a smile ghosting over her features.
dean sighed, running a hand through his hair. he hadn’t meant to upset you — he never did — but the sight of you crying, with sam comforting you, made something twist in his chest. he threw some cash on the table and stood, his mind racing with a mix of guilt and something else he couldn’t quite name. jealousy, maybe?
he pushed the thought aside, heading toward the door.
“dean?” sam’s voice cut through the noise of the diner.
dean turned, finding his brother standing outside the far doorway, his arm still draped protectively around you.
“give her a minute,” sam said, his expression firm.
dean nodded, swallowing hard as he watched you lean into sam’s side.
he retreated back and stood in the doorway of the diner, his boots scuffing against the floor as he watched you outside with sam. his jaw ticked, the familiar burn of guilt twisting in his chest.
you’d looked so hurt when you bolted. he hadn’t meant to upset you — hell, he rarely thought before he spoke, but he hated that his careless words had made you cry.
and then there was sam, playing the role of the comforter, his arm draped around you like it was the most natural thing in the world.
dean hated how that made him feel. jealousy wasn’t a look he liked wearing, but damn if it wasn’t fitting him like a glove right now. he shoved his hands into his pockets, staring down at the worn linoleum. when sam finally walked you back in, dean forced himself to meet your eyes.
you glanced at him briefly, your cheeks blotchy and red, before dropping your gaze to the floor. the pang in his chest deepened.
sam gave him a pointed look, one that said, don’t screw this up, before gently nudging you toward the booth.
you slid in first, keeping as much distance between you and dean as possible.
“hey,” dean started, his voice uncharacteristically soft. “you okay?”
“i’m fine,” you murmured, not looking up.
the waitress returned, her cheerfulness only adding to the tension at the table.
“ready for the check?” she asked, glancing between the three of you.
“yeah, we’re done,” dean said gruffly, tossing some cash onto the table without counting it. “keep the change.”
the waitress hesitated, her gaze lingering on dean for a second too long before she turned and walked away.
sam cleared his throat. “we should probably hit the road.”
“yeah,” dean muttered, sliding out of the booth.
the ride back to the motel was quieter than it had ever been. the only sound was the low hum of the engine and the occasional rustle of paper as sam reviewed the hunt notes. dean kept glancing at you in the rearview mirror, but you didn’t notice. you were too busy staring out the window, your fingers twisting nervously in your lap.
“so,” sam said awkwardly, breaking the silence, “any ideas on how we’re gonna track this thing down?”
dean grunted. “same as always. follow the trail, kill the thing.”
sam shot him a look but didn’t press further.
you stayed quiet, your thoughts miles away.
back at the motel, you retreated to your room almost immediately, mumbling something about needing to check your notes. dean and sam both watched you go, the motel door clicking shut behind you.
dean’s jaw tightened as the guilt settled deeper in his chest. he wasn’t used to feeling like this — so unsure, so aware of every single way he’d messed up. he rubbed a hand over his face, frustration building as he stared at the floor. he could feel sam's eyes on him, the tension thick in the air. he didn’t know how to fix it, and that made everything worse.
“dean, what the fuck? that shit you pulled at the diner… it doesn’t impress her you know. flirting with other people. christ.” sam said, his voice getting louder with every word, visibly stressing out. evidently, he’d been holding that in for a while now, waiting to get dean alone.
“i know i fucked up. okay, sam, i know.” dean snapped back.
“you’re gonna talk to her, right? you better.” sam asked, leaning against the kitchenette counter.
“yeah,” dean muttered, running a hand through his hair. “just… give me a minute.”
you didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but the thin motel walls didn’t leave much to the imagination.
hearing dean pacing and muttering under his breath made your stomach twist. you couldn’t make out the words, but it didn’t take a genius to figure out he was talking about you. the familiar voice of self-doubt crept in, louder than ever.
he’s probably frustrated with me. i overreacted. i always overreact.
you sank onto the edge of the bed, burying your face in your hands.
dean knocked on your door a little later, his knuckles rapping softly against the wood.
“hey,” he called, his voice hesitant. “you busy?”
you hesitated, then opened the door a crack. “no.”
he stood there, looking uncharacteristically unsure of himself.
“can we talk?” he asked.
you nodded, stepping aside to let him in.
he glanced around the room, his hands shoved deep in his pockets. “listen,” he started, “about earlier…”
you shifted nervously, not meeting his eyes.
“i’m sorry,” he said, his voice low. “i didn’t mean to upset you. i was just… being a bit of an idiot, like usual.”
you looked up at him then, surprised by the sincerity in his tone.
“you didn’t do anything wrong,” you said quietly.
“yeah, i did,” he admitted, his green eyes locking onto yours. “i was an ass, and you didn’t deserve that.”
the honesty in his voice made your chest ache.
“it’s okay,” you said, though you weren’t entirely sure you believed it.
“it’s not,” dean insisted. “you’re… you’re important to me. and the last thing i want is to make you feel like crap.”
your breath hitched at his words, the weight of them settling over you like a warm blanket.
“thank you,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
he took a step closer, his gaze searching yours. “are we okay?”
you nodded, a small smile tugging at your lips.
“good,” he said, the tension in his shoulders easing.
he seemed to hesitate a little before taking another step closer, looking down at you as he seemed to study your expression. he smiled once again, a big cheesy dean smile and then after he seemed to contemplate what to do he turned on his heel after planting a soft kiss on your head. as he turned to leave, you couldn’t help but wonder if you’d just imagined the way his eyes lingered on you, soft and full of something you couldn’t quite name.
inside his own room, dean collapsed onto the bed with a groan. he stared at the ceiling, replaying everything over in his head.
he’d apologized, sure, but it didn’t feel like enough. not when you’d looked so… defeated. for one of the first times in his life he felt awkward, he hoped you hadn’t thought too much of the kiss, however short lived. his chest tightened at the memory of your tear-streaked face in the diner. it was like a punch to the gut every time he thought about it.
“damn it,” he muttered, scrubbing a hand down his face.
he hated this. hated feeling like he was losing his grip on something that mattered so much to him. because you did matter — to him, more than you probably knew. and that was the problem. he wasn’t sure how to show you without screwing it up further.
the tension you thought was resolved seemed to linger between you and dean the next day, hanging over the group like a storm cloud. sam did his best to fill the silence, but it was clear neither of you were really in the mood to talk.
“i’ll check out the library,” sam said finally, grabbing his bag. “you two stay here, see if you can dig up anything online.”
dean nodded, not meeting your eyes as sam left. the door clicked shut, leaving the two of you alone.
“you want the laptop?” dean asked, his voice gruff.
you nodded, taking it from him without a word.
he sighed, leaning back in his chair. “look, i don’t know how many more times i can say i’m sorry, but — ”
“you don’t have to keep apologizing,” you interrupted, your voice softer than you intended. a stark contrast to his.
he blinked, caught off guard. “i just… i hate that i made you feel like that.”
you glanced at him, your heart aching at the genuine regret in his eyes.
“it’s okay, dean. you’ve already said sorry, i thought that was it,” you said, even though part of you wasn’t sure it really was.
he nodded, his jaw tightening as he looked away.
that night, dean stood outside your door again, debating whether or not to knock. he hated this distance between you two, hated feeling like he was walking on eggshells. but most of all, he hated that he didn’t know how to fix it.
finally, he knocked, his heart pounding in his chest.
“come in,” you called softly.
he opened the door, hesitating in the doorway.
“hey,” he said, his voice quiet. “you doing okay?”
you nodded, though the tightness in your chest said otherwise.
he stepped inside, closing the door behind him.
“look,” he started, running a hand through his hair, “i know i’m not great at this kind of thing, but… i care about you. more than i probably should.”
your breath caught, his words hitting you like a freight train.
“dean, i…”
he held up a hand, cutting you off. “just… let me say this, okay? i care about you, and i hate seeing you upset. especially if it’s because of me.”
you swallowed hard, your chest tightening as you fought back tears.
“you’re not just a friend to me,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
your heart skipped a beat, his words sinking in. what could he mean by that? what you’d always wished he felt for you?
“dean,” you said softly, your voice trembling, “you mean a lot to me too.”
he looked at you, his green eyes filled with something you couldn’t quite name.
“so… are we good?” he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.
you nodded, a small smile breaking through the tension.
“yeah,” you said, your voice steadier this time.
he smiled back, the tension in his shoulders finally easing fully. and for the first time in days, things between you felt like they might actually be okay.
you weren’t sure how it happened, but somehow you and dean ended up crammed together in the tiny motel room armchair, your knees brushing his and his warmth radiating off him like a furnace.
sam had taken off to follow a lead, leaving you and dean to man the research front. but the computer battery had died, the coffee had gone cold, and now you were both lazily flipping through books neither of you were really reading.
dean tilted his head, watching you as you squinted at the small print. “you always make that face when you read?”
“what face?” you asked, looking up at him.
“that cute little scrunched-up thing,” he said, a teasing grin spreading across his face.
your stomach flipped, and you ducked your head, suddenly very interested in the book in your lap. “i don’t scrunch my face.”
“yeah, you do,” he said, leaning closer. “like this.”
he exaggerated a dramatic squint, furrowing his brow and twisting his mouth into something ridiculous.
you couldn’t help it — you giggled, the sound soft and bubbling out of you before you could stop it.
dean grinned wider, clearly pleased with himself. “there it is,” he said, his voice warm.
for a moment, everything felt easy, natural, like the awkwardness and tension of the past few days had melted away. but then your eyes caught the faint smear of grease on his hand, and your mind drifted.
you thought back to the first time you’d realized you had a crush on dean winchester.
it had been a quiet night in the bunker, just the two of you tinkering with the impala. he’d handed you a wrench, his hand brushing yours, and you’d felt it — a spark, like a live wire connecting the two of you.
he’d smiled at you then, soft and genuine, and it had made your heart race.
you’d brushed it off at first, chalking it up to admiration or something equally benign. but the more time you spent with him, the more you realized it was something else entirely.
you’d fallen for him — hard.
and it wasn’t just his looks, though you’d be lying if you said those green eyes and that cocky grin didn’t make your knees weak. it was everything about him: the way he protected the people he cared about, the way he laughed, the way he carried the weight of the world on his shoulders and still managed to crack a joke.
but he’d never see you that way. how could he? you were just… you.
and then there was the size difference. it wasn’t something you normally thought about, but around dean, it was impossible to ignore. he was tall, broad-shouldered, and solid in a way that made you feel both safe and utterly self-conscious.
you, on the other hand, felt small in comparison — too small, too quiet, too unsure of yourself to ever catch his attention.
“hey,” dean said, his voice pulling you out of your thoughts. “you good?”
“yeah,” you said quickly, forcing a smile.
“you sure? you spaced out there for a second.”
“just tired,” you lied.
he didn’t look convinced, but he let it go, leaning back in the chair and stretching his legs out in front of him.
dean wasn’t immune to overthinking either, though he’d never admit it out loud. he’d had a thing for you for what felt like forever, but he’d always convinced himself it was a bad idea.
you were shy, sweet, and way too good for someone like him. besides, he didn’t want to scare you off — not when having you around was one of the few things that made the job bearable.
so he kept his feelings to himself, content to just be your friend, even if it killed him a little every time you smiled at him like he hung the moon.
but there were moments — moments like now, with you sitting so close, your leg brushing his and your eyes darting to his every so often — that made it damn near impossible to keep his cool.
“you know,” he said, his voice low, “you don’t have to keep everything to yourself.”
you blinked at him, caught off guard. “what do you mean?”
“i mean… you can talk to me,” he said, his gaze steady. “about anything.”
your heart squeezed at the sincerity in his voice.
“i know,” you said softly.
he smiled at that, a small, lopsided grin that made your chest feel warm.
“good,” he said, leaning forward slightly.
the proximity made your breath hitch, your eyes locking onto his for a moment that felt like it stretched on forever. but then the moment passed, and he leaned back again, running a hand through his hair.
later that night, as you lay in bed staring at the ceiling, your thoughts wandered again.
you thought about all the little things dean did — how he always walked on the side closest to traffic, how he made sure you ate on hunts, how he was quick to tease but just as quick to defend you if anyone else tried.
he cared about you. you knew that much.
but as a friend, or something more?
the uncertainty gnawed at you, and you rolled onto your side, pulling the blanket tighter around you.
dean wasn’t faring much better. he sat on the edge of his bed, staring at the floor, his mind racing.
he thought about all the times he’d come close to saying something, only to chicken out at the last second.
he thought about the way you’d looked at him earlier, like you were trying to figure him out. he thought about how often he fucked up infront of you, trying to distract himself from his silly crush only to regret it afterwards. and he thought about the way you made him feel — like maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t as broken as he thought he was.
“screw it,” he muttered under his breath, standing up and heading for your door.
a knock at the door pulled you from your thoughts, startling you. you sat up in bed, heart thudding.
“it’s me,” dean’s voice came softly from the other side, muffled but familiar.
“come in,” you said, trying to keep your voice steady.
the door creaked open, and dean stepped inside, his movements careful. he closed the door behind him quietly, as if not wanting to disturb the stillness of the night.
“i couldn’t sleep,” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck in that familiar way, his gaze briefly flicking to yours before darting away.
“yeah, me neither,” you murmured, fingers twisting the edge of the blanket draped over your lap.
he hesitated for a moment, standing awkwardly near the door before crossing the room and sitting down on the edge of your bed. the mattress dipped slightly under his weight, and for a moment, neither of you said anything.
finally, dean broke the silence. “so i’ve been thinking,” he started, his voice quiet but deliberate. “about us.”
your stomach flipped, your pulse quickening as his words hung in the air. “us?” you echoed, barely audible.
he nodded, his jaw working like he was trying to find the right words. “you mean a lot to me,” he said finally, his voice rough around the edges. “more than i’ve ever really let on. i regret that.”
your breath caught, your chest tightening at the quiet vulnerability in his tone.
“dean…” you began, but he held up a hand, his eyes meeting yours fully now.
“let me say this,” he said, his voice firm but gentle. “i’ve spent so much time trying to keep things simple, to keep things from getting messy. but with you…” he trailed off, his expression softening as he searched your face. “it’s never been simple. and i wouldn’t want it to be.”
his words hit you like a punch to the gut — raw, honest, and so undeniably him.
“i don’t know if i’m any good at this,” he admitted, his hand brushing yours where it rested on the blanket. the touch was light, almost hesitant, but it sent a shiver up your spine. “but i want to try. if you’ll let me.”
your heart raced, a thousand emotions swirling inside you. “dean, you don’t have to…”
“i want to,” he interrupted, his voice steady. “i care about you. more than i probably should. and i don’t want to keep pretending like that’s not true.”
your hand was fully engulfed in his now. you swallowed hard, his words settling over you like a warm blanket. he looked at you, his green eyes searching yours for any sign of hesitation.
dean’s gaze flickered, his lips parting slightly before he closed them again, his hesitation palpable. his other hand hovered near yours, fingers brushing faintly, the touch so light it was almost imagined. the space between you seemed to shrink on its own, the weight of the moment settling over both of you. his eyes lingered, tracing the lines of your face as if memorizing every detail.
his fingers shifted closer, finally grazing yours with deliberate care. the air grew warmer, each heartbeat louder than the last, as if the world itself held its breath, waiting.
“can i…?” he started, his voice trailing off as he leaned slightly closer, his gaze dropping to your lips before snapping back up to your eyes.
you nodded, unable to find your voice, your chest tight with anticipation.
his hand cupped your cheek gently, his thumb brushing against your skin as he leaned in. his lips met yours softly, testing, like he was afraid to push too far. but when you didn’t pull away, he pressed a little closer, his warmth grounding you.
the moment his lips met yours, the world seemed to tilt. his kiss was slow, deliberate, like he was savoring every second, his hand sliding from your cheek to the back of your neck, pulling you closer. your fingers clutched at his shirt, the fabric bunching beneath your grip as a quiet whimper escaped you.
dean groaned in response, the sound low and rough, reverberating against your lips. it sent a shiver down your spine, your cheeks flushing hotter. his other hand found your waist, firm but gentle, anchoring you to him. his thumb traced the curve of your jaw as he deepened the kiss, his touch igniting something that left you breathless.
when he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, his eyes half-lidded and his breathing slightly uneven.
“i’ve wanted to do that for so damn long,” he confessed, his voice low and filled with something you couldn’t quite name.
“me too,” you whispered, your cheeks flushed and your heart pounding.
he chuckled softly, the sound warm and comforting. “guess we’re both a little stubborn, huh?”
you smiled, a weight lifting off your chest as his words settled into your heart. “maybe just a little.”
dean’s fingers traced the edge of your jaw, his touch lingering as if he wasn’t ready to let go. “you’re fuckin’ awesome, you know that?” he said softly, his voice almost reverent.
you giggled quietly, the sound light and easy. “if i’m fuckin’ awesome, what are you?” you said, mimicking his much deeper voice,
he smirked, his expression softening as he leaned in to press a kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment. “just lucky,” he said, his voice filled with a quiet sincerity that made your chest ache in the best way.
