Jeremy is the daydreamer to end all daydreamers; especially when out on the field, that’s when he relies on his own imagination to find the emotional strength to push himself through harsh conditions. His imagination is in many ways an escape for him, something he can run off into and  disappear  in for a while. It isn’t ideal, too often has he been startled by the loud voice of a superior, but it is enough to get by. 

More often than not he thinks about wild adventures and heroic tales   (  ironic, considering some would see his career in the army as wild and heroic )   yet his mind is prone to taking him to more fairy tale like scenes, something with less blood and better boots, somewhere where the feeling of victory humming through his veins after a battle won is permanent, and won’t be replaced with the feeling of regret as soon as he’s scrubbing blood off his sword. 

He is aware of this tendency, just as he’s aware that he would much rather prefer this way of living in the harsh conditions of army life than face it without his private form of escape.

It has almost been 7 months since I started this wild ride  &  basically that’s the only reason I need to give a big fat shoutout to the people who have made me insanely happy during my time here; I love everyone on my dash but this one is for the special tulips in the crowd !!  

@oceanfoamed : are you even surprised that you’re the first person on this list?? honestly, holmes, ever since you picked up on writing Jack again, and you threw yourself into watching master and commander and hornblower my blog has been 80% related to you and your muses. Plotting, shipping and writing with you in this fandom has been nothing short of a miracle. It has been a pleasure to create so many unique relationships and interactions with you. Fuck me with a rusty spoon because I can’t believe how lucky I’ve been to develop my children with you to hold my hand every step of the way. I can’t imagine what amazing things we’ll create once plotting will literally be nothing more than a shout down the stairs xoxo.

Plotting an age of sail verse for our HP kids while sitting next to one another in a rollercoaster back in September last year made me remember exactly how much I love the time period. You have been amazing support, a great friend, and I cannot express to you how much I’m going to miss you. You’re my world, an endless well of creativity. There is very little I wouldn’t do for you, snolleke. And I hope that you know that I’ll always be here for you, even if I’m on the other side of the world. So yes, it is surprising how easy going he is. One reason for this, is very rightly stated, that he is open to change.
