So the other day I was asked what i thought the sexiest MV was. I answered with the below MV and though it’s one of THE most famous MV’s in the entire world, a lot of my followers haven’t seen it. This song was literally BANNED for being too sexy. And I was originally slightly embarrassed saying that this was imo the Sexiest Music Video until I rewatched it and realised THEY’RE ALL MOSTLY SHIRTLESS SINGING EXPLICIT LYRICS AND THEN ALL THE FUCKING BONDAGE MY GOD. 

So no. I stand by it. This is from 2008 and it’s still sexy as fuck.

Hubble Faz Imagem Espetacular do Fantasma de Cassiopeia - Space Today TV...

Já que o Hubble foi arrumado, vamos comemorar com uma bela imagem feita por ele.

Lembrando, essa imagem foi feita antes do problema com os giroscópios, mas vale para comemoração.

Desde que o Telescópio Espacial Hubble foi lançado, ele nos mostrou um universo praticamente novo, e um dos objetos que ele mais tem estudado são as nebulosas.

O Hubble então foi apontado para a constelação de Cassiopeia, uma constelação pouco conhecida aqui no Brasil, já que ela é melhor observada do hemisfério norte, e tem a forma de um W no céu.

Nessa constelações temos uma estrela chamada Gamma Cassiopeiae que é uma estrela variável subgigante azul-branca, que é 19 vezes mais passiva que o Sol e 65 mil vezes mais brilhantes.

Ela gira a uma velocidade de 1.6 milhões de quilômetros por hora.

Isso faz com que a estrela tenha uma forma mais ovalada além de criar erupções de massa no disco que a evolve, essa perda de massa está relacionada com as variações de brilho.

A radiação emitida por essa estrela é tão intensa que conseguiu afetar uma nebulosa que está distante dela, a chamada Nebulosa Fantasma, ou IC 63.

E essa nebulosa que o Hubble fotografou de forma espetacular, o que se vê é o hidrogênio dentro da IC 63 sendo afetado pela radiação ultravioleta da Gamma Casiopeiae, fazendo com que os elétrons ganhem energia e que é emitida posteriormente como radiação hidrogênio-alfa e observada em vermelho na imagem.

Isso faz com que a IC 63 seja classificada como uma nebulosa de emissão, mas também é possível ver na imagem uma luz azulada, essa luz azulada é a luz refletida da estrela Gamma Cassiopeia, que é refletida pelas partículas de poeira na nebulosa, significando que ela também é uma nebulosa de reflexão.

A nebulosa colorida e fantasmagórica está vagarosamente se dissipando sob a influência da radiação ultravioleta emitida pela estrela Gamma Cassioepeiae, mas a IC 63 não é o único objeto na região afetado pela estrela, existe uma região muito maior de nebulosidade, que tem a largura de 4 Luas Cheias.

Fica aí, essa imagem hoje como comemoração da volta do Hubble às suas atividades científicas normais e o porque precisamos tanto dele, para estudar objetos belos e intrigantes como essa nebulosa.
