On November 1st 1889 a wall collapsed at Templetons Greenhead Factory Calton, tragically taking the lives of 29 woman.
For some reason this didn’t flag up yesterday.......
At about 5.15pm that evening, unusually high winds caused a large section of the new western extension to collapse into the adjoining weaving shed. The workforce was composed almost entirely of East End women and many were buried in the ruins.
The Eastern and Central Fire Brigades attended the scene under Superintendent William Paterson and they were assisted by the Glasgow Salvage Corps and policemen in their search for survivors. The firemen and Salvage Corps were replaced at 7pm by organized search parties consisting of workers from the factory. Although many women were rescued, twenty-nine died women and girls in the rubble.
Maggie Shields was a power loom weaver at Templetons Greenhead Factory Calton , who went to her work on the 1st November 1889 and became one of the 29 young girls to loose there lives when the ornate wall that was being built collapsed during a storm and demolished the weaving shed where Maggie and her co workers were working. Maggie was 22 years old and lived at 10 Gibson Street Calton The Glasgow Herald on the 2nd November reported that Maggie was missing at that time.
Their names were, according to the Evening Times:
Margaret Arthur, 20 Margaret Blair, 16 Helen Bradley, 21; Agnes Broadfoot, 21 Elizabeth Broadfoot, 17 Margaret Cassidy, 18 Lilias Davitt, 19 Agnes Dickson, 16 Jane Duffie, 20 Janet Gibson, 16 Dinah Gillies, 19 Jean Glass, 20 Sarah Groves, 22 Margaret McCartney, 17 Minnie McGarrigle, 24 Agnes McGregor, 17 Martha Mackie, 20 Elizabeth McMillan, 15 Rose Ann McMillan, 21 Jeannie Marshall, 22 Jemima Morris, 23 Grace McQuillan, 19 Margaret Shields, 22 Elizabeth Sinclair, 25 Mary Ann Stewart, 16 Annie Strathearn, 19 Mary Turnbull, 15 Ellen Wallace, 23 Annie Wilson, age 14
A memorial garden at the corner of London road and Tobago street is believed to have been built to commemorate the death of these 29 girls and on the wall was a plaque with the poem.
‘Green buds for the hopes of tomorrow Fair flowers, for the joy of today Sweet memory, the fragrance they leave us As time gently flows on its way’
The reason I say believed is that the garden seems to have come into existence many years later in 1954, and no records exist to it coming about.
There’s a wee bit about the memorial garden here https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/13259515.makeover-for-memorial-to-29-women-crushed-in-glasgow-workplace-disaste

WMG theory: the time squad fanfic buck, The first chapter of CHAD D and the future of the Ghoulfamily where just hallucinations by minus!puppycorn
Turns out minus!puppycorn didn’t really met buck tuddrussel, Cassidy Dickson and rongo swirll, all of this was in his head while he was drinking 10 gallons of McDonald’s sprite (kinda like what pico does)
Speaking of which, I decided to make a scene based on the ending to marshmallow people 3:
Minus!Unikitty: little bro, where the hell have you been all of a sudden?!

Fall, Year 5: Misc
At Byron and Jenee’s, their kittens aged up. (I don’t know which is which or if one of them is the mother instead of the offspring.) I wish I’d remembered they had kittens when all of my Peasants were wanting one earlier this round. Oh well.
I keep trying to invite their children and grandchildren around as often as possible. I want them to know each other and I want all of them to have a fair chance to inherit the house and business. Unfortunately, Jenee and Byron’s grandchildren get along as well as their children did (barely at all and not without intervention.)
Their business is cute, but not very exciting. It’s going to take time to get it off the ground.
I keep them busy with the house, the kids, and fulfilling gardening wants, but what they would prefer to do, when left to their own devices is just relax together.
I thought they were going to make it through the season, but at the last moment, the Grim Reaper came for Byron. (Somehow Jenee ended up being a day younger. Her bar was also full, so if she hadn’t lost a day somewhere he might have come for her too.)
Byron was aged 77. He is survived by his wife Jenee, his children (Jeremiah, Earnest, Madeline, Rebekah, and Patrick), and twelve grandchildren. He almost lived long enough to meet his great-grandchildren as at least two are on the way. He and his wife were the first to jump class and rise among the ranks. The business is in Jenee’s hands now. I’m eager to see who she passes the torch to.
I’ve also been trying to catch up my other, unofficial households. Evil Warlock Dickson Bransfield and his wife Robin Zaidi of the Merchant’s Meeting Place (which hasn’t been utilized in awhile) and managers of the graveyard, have a son. I was hoping for a daughter because I had a name I liked picked out, but since they had a boy, he is named Griffin.
Celeste Mellon had been pregnant for quite some time with Lorenzo Cade’s baby. She finally gave birth to a baby girl named Cassidy. Celeste had been living on a university lot, but since she was at the end of her university career and on academic probation, I had her quit and move back to the Langerak home. Since she is the daughter of Claire and Lakshmi, she is technically the heir.
I’m not sure how old Cassidy should be in relation to her half-brother, Erik, but I played her up to the toddler stage at least.
After bringing Trevor Cade home from work with her, Claire slept with him (while I wasn’t looking) and became pregnant with twins. Celeste is holding her baby sister, Zelda, while Claire gets her first look at baby Zander. I think that makes nine children for Trevor now. I wonder if he’ll make it to the ten that he wants.

Tachyon tidbits featuring Patricia A. McKillip, Peter S. Beagle, Jacob Weisman, Michael Swanwick, and Caitlín R. Kiernan
The latest reviews and mentions of Tachyon titles and authors from around the web.
Patricia A. McKillip (photo: Stephen Gold/Wikimedia Commons), Jacob Weisman & Peter S. Beagle (Jill Roberts), Michael Swanwick (Beth Gwynn), and Caitlín R. Kiernan (Kyle Cassidy/Wikimedia Commons)
For THE GREEN REVIEW, Robert M. Tilendis praises Patricia A. McKillip’s World Fantasy Award-winner THE FORGOTTEN BEASTS OF ELD.
THE FORGOTTEN BEASTS OF ELD was the first book by Patricia A. McKillip that I ever read. Two things struck me about it: it was different than any other fantasy I had read to that point, most of which were in the high-minded, seriously heroic mode, but written in “realistic” prose; and it was funny. I didn’t know fantasy could be funny. This was not the almost-tongue-in-cheek of L. Sprague de Camp or of Gordon Dickson’s dragon books, nor the edgy satirical vision of Fritz Leiber, but the result of sharp, contemporary dialogue that betrayed a sympathy for slapstick that came out of nowhere and left you gasping — think of it as the Marx Brothers meet The Fellowship of the Ring.
This is another one of those magical creations by McKillip that ostensibly fits into the young-adult fantasy mold but holds great wealth for adult readers as well. The themes are those that underlie the body of McKillip’s work: love, honesty, and the difficult and confusing business of growing into maturity. In many ways, this one sets the tone for later works: the diction is elliptical; dialogue slides effortlessly between sharp, off-the-wall responses and direct, uninflected poetry; magic is an assumption, evident as much in the telling of events as in anything the characters do; and the characters themselves are deftly and subtly drawn. And, as is usually the case, McKillip manages to pack a huge amount of story into a fairly slim book.
One of the magical things about this one is that it reads like a fairy tale. I’ve only seen a couple of authors pull this kind of thing off, and McKillip is one of them. The story of Sybel, Coren and Tamlorn has much the same quality as the best renderings of folk and fairy tales recorded by the Grimms or created by Andersen, fleshed out into a novel with real, living characters who never lose that feeling of otherness while behaving like normal human beings. (The other who comes to mind is Steven Brust in Brokedown Palace, although his manipulations of the form are equally masterful, but more readily apparent.)
<snip>
If you are familiar with McKillip, this is a good one to read (or reread — it’s on that list). It’s a great starting point for a magnetic and magical writer, and it’s a good way to bring her other works into sharp focus. It’s also a terrific book all by itself.
THE FLUTTERBY ROOM is impressed by Peter S. Beagle and Jacob Weisman’s THE NEW VOICES OF FANTASY.
THE NEW VOICES OF FANTASY edited by Peter S. Beagle and Jacob Weisman is an anthology that collects together nineteen short stories from up and coming writers in the fantasy genre. The collection includes several award winners and whilst most of the stories have appeared in other collections there is an original addition. In this anthology Peter S. Beagle and Jacob Weisman bring together a wide selection of talent, with a broad range of topics – there is something for everyone in this collection – to create a stunning collection that will just draw you in. A perfect way to find new writers in the fantasy genre.
THE NEW VOICES OF FANTASY starts with two entries from the editors. The first is an introduction by Jacob Weisman and serves as a summary of the anthology and a bit about why he and Beagle selected the stories. The second is by Peter S, Beagle and he talks about what got him into the fantasy genre, how the genre is changed, and what it’s like to be a fantasy author. I thought this was an interesting and insightful piece and well worth a read. I think Beagle and Weisman did a good job and created an interesting and balanced collection of stories that cover a lot of different voices. It’s definitely one for fans of the fantasy genre to add to their collection.
Andrew Wheeler of THE ANTICK MUSINGS OF G.B.H. HORNSWOGGLER, GENT. regards Michael Swanwick’s work in and NOT SO MUCH SAID THE CAT in specific as vital and important.
The stories here are mixed SF and fantasy. I felt it tilted towards a fantasy feeling, but that's in large part because the SF is mostly post-apocalyptic, either part of Swanwick's "Darger and Surplus" series or similarly motivated, with mysterious superpowerful AIs serving as "gods" and "demons" and along the way proving Arthur C. Clarke's famous dictum.
More important than genre -- for me at least, and I hope for any self-respecting reader as well -- is the question of how good the stories are. They're very good: emotionally resonant, pointed and precise, carefully crafted for maximum impact. Swanwick is one of our best short-story writers, in genre or out of it, and this is yet another example of why.
I don't read a lot of short fiction these days -- I read a lot less of everything than I did, back when I read for a living -- so I'm not in any position to say any of you need to read anything in particular. But Swanwick is vital and important and great; if you read SF/fantasy short fiction at all, he's someone to know and keep track of.
Before the ink even dried on the contract, Caitlín R Kiernan on her POSTCARDS FROM THE RED ROOM blog made this announcement.
Also, I haven't yet mentioned that Tachyon Publications will be doing a "very best of" collection of my short fiction (approximately 150,000 words), distilled from the two Subterranean Press "best of" volumes, Two Worlds and In Between and Beneath an Oil-Dark Sea. I'll post more information when I have it. We've yet to settle on a Table of Contents.

On November 1st 1889 a wall collapsed at Templetons Greenhead Factory Calton, tragically taking the lives of 29 woman.
Sisters Elizabeth, 17, and Agnes Broadfoot, 21
Margaret Arthur, 20
Margaret Blair, 16
Helen Bradley, 21
Margaret Cassidy, 18
Lilias Davitt, 19
Agnes Dickson, 16
Jane Duffie, 20
Janet Gibson, 16
Dinah Gillies, 19
Jean Glass, 20
Sarah Groves, 22
Ellen Wallace, 23
Margaret McCartney, 17
Minnie McGarrigle, 24
Agnes McGregor, 17
Martha Mackie, 20
Elizabeth McMillan, 15
Rose Ann McMillan, 21
Jeannie Marshall, 22
Jemima Morris, 23
Grace McQuillan, 19
Margaret Shields, 22
Elizabeth Sinclair, 25
Mary Ann Stewart, 16
Annie Strathearn, 19
Mary Turnbull, 15
Annie Wilson, 14.....
There's a wee bit about the memorial garden here https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/.../13259515.makeover-for.../

fantasy gym thoughts wk 4...
traded out Cassidy Keelen (v unfortunately) for Caroline Fitzpatrick (cmu) because i’m seeing pretty consistently that keelen is out for the season. I put Fitzpatrick up on beam over Hailee Westney - neither are super consistent, but Fitzpatrick can put up a higher potential score. I also added Rachael Underwood to my vault lineup (my core vault team of Capps, Dowell, Houchin, Raineri and Dickson is unlikely to have anyone break into those scores so she’s just a backup) and both Ivy Lu and Charlotte Sullivan to my bars lineup. (again, it’s not HUGELY likely that they’ll top the scores of Capps/Auferio/Carter/Dowell/Dickson, but it’s a possibility esp. with Lu). I added Evelyn Nee back into my beam lineup, and after a LOT of debate, added Maya Reimers into my floor lineup. 98% sure I’m going to regret that and Taylor Houchin (who I took out) is going to score a 9.975 but it’s fine.
i got a 197.113/197.3325 this week, so i’m pretty happy but KNOW my team can do better. I had to count a 9.65 on beam, which is better than last week but still not ideal, so hopefully my team starts hitting their beam routines ASAP(and my trade of Fitzpatrick pays off).. Rachel Dickson and Chelsea Raineri were my real stars this week!

PRESS RELEASE
Austin, TX (Oct. 04, 2016) – FloSports today announced Coal Region Pro-Wrestling (CORE) will be the new centerpiece of their FloSlam.tv division. FloSports first purchased CORE in October 2016. A showcase event followed in April of this year.
"We're excited to once again serve die-hard pro wrestling fans with live streams of one of the best independent promotions in the world," FloSports co-founder and CEO Martin Floreani said. "This is a groundbreaking agreement that will take CORE to new heights." In addition to live coverage and replays of all future CORE cards, FloSlam will host archives from all CORE events dating back to 2007.
On the most recent episode of FloSlam’s popular Hot Tag podcast it was revealed that Sad Badd will serve as CORE’s head matchmaker. In addition to her role as a wrestling manager, Sad Badd is also the writer of the long running cult favorite fantasy promotion MOjave DEsert Pro-Wrestling, or MODE. The fictional promotion runs cards in cities like Pahrump, Nevada, Victorville, California, and Bullhead City, Arizona. FloSports officials were very impressed by the long term storytelling, irreverent humor, and sustained popularity despite countless extended breaks. To avoid any appearance of favoritism, Sad Badd has relinquished her manager’s license and her stable, The Shamokin Swat Team, will be dissolved.
News and Notes:
- FloSlam has signed an exclusive deal with well known internet influencers Aiden and Jayden Perry. The Perry Brothers began their entertainment careers on Vine before moving their unique brand of prank based humor and rapping to YouTube. Aiden and Jayden have been training with WWMA in Manhattan and the exclusive Japan 1 dojo in Tokyo and will very soon make their pro-wrestling debut in CORE.
- FloSlam has purchased the rights to the Jervis Cottonbelly property from the Chikara wrestling office. The next incarnation of the Sweetest Man In Wrestling will make his debut on October 13th when Jervis Cottonbelly III faces off against Drastik Boy.
Upcoming Shows:

Fall, Year 6: Langerak / Bransfield
For my last post for this season, I’m updating the rest of my unofficial households. I have been trying to play them up-to-date to catch up with the aging of my main hood. Mostly this will be birthdays.
The Langerak household is a large, multi-generational household. Laskshmi and Venkat are both vampires and Claire Mellon and her (and Lakshmi’s) daughter Celeste are both witches. There have been a lot of birthdays as I try to catch up this family with the main kingdom.
Celeste’s secret children with Lorenzo Cade are growing up. Cassidy is a teenager.
and Callum is a child.
Celeste gives birth to her third child by Lorenzo. (This affair is getting kind of ridiculous . . .) It’s a boy named, Corbin.
Claire’s twins with Trevor Cade (this is a twisted family tree) also reach the child stage. Here are Zelda
and Zander.
Could it be that Trevor is trying to end his cheating ways? He turns down Claire’s advances! Maybe there is some hope for him after all. (I doubt it though.)
Lakshmi and Venkat’s daughter, Sitara grows up.
And they welcome a new baby boy, Ajay. I know they are vampires and immortal and their aging is inconsistent because they aren’t in the main hood, but at some point they should probably stop having new babies. Lakshmi is already a great-grandmother.
Celeste also gets invited to an outing this season and rubs elbows with the young upperclass sims of the main kingdom. Lakshmi is kind of the queen of the subhood kingdom and Celeste would be her heir if she wasn’t an immortal vampire, so Celeste should be a powerful ally to have.
Dickson Bransfield is another sim who is behind when it comes to aging. His son, Navin, aged to an elder this season and Dickson is a great-grandfather, so I decided I need to catch him up to elderhood at least, so he can stay a little older than his son. Since he is a witch, I can assume he’s using his dark arts to slow aging.
He’s been placeholding my merchant’s meeting place for awhile and has settled down with townie Robin Zaidi and they have two little boys together.
Griffin
and Clark.
Dickson made it to elderhood, but he doesn’t look too thrilled about it.
He and fellow elderly witch, Jeff, managed to catch up this season before Jeff passed away.

Seniors Tournament the Best Yet.
The Ulladulla Tennis Centre in Warden Street was buzzing on the weekend of February 17, 18 and 19 when players from all around NSW, ACT, Victoria and further afield competed in the annual BIG4 Bungalow Park Burrill Lake Seniors Tennis Tournament under the control of tournament director Mary Lou Barclay. President of Tennis NSW Seniors Mick Bruton was the lucky winner of a week’s accommodation for 6 people generously donated by Catherine and Quentin at Bungalow Park on Burrill Lake. Our most popular event ever saw 220 players enjoying singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles events in Ulladulla and Milton. In a very competitive but also social atmosphere teams were grouped according to their age or ability and played a round robin format with a cash prize for the winners and runners up in each group. The high standard of players included the current world number one ITF ranked doubles lady in the over 65 age group Adrienne Avis-Main as well as ex-local Helen Worland who is currently 22 in the world seniors doubles ranking. They made a formidable pair on the court. Current and past presidents, secretary and treasurer of tennis Seniors NSW also attended as well as Councillor Patricia White and Deputy Mayor Mark Kitchener. Thank you in no small measure to Tournament Director Mary Lou Barclay and her assistant Val Crook and to hard-working Canteen managers Jennie Rutherford and Pauline Proctor who only went home to sleep during the three days.
Many of the entrants have represented Australia at an international level where they have been successful in becoming world champions including ladies number 1 ranked doubles player in the 65 plus age group Adrienne Avis-Main. Cheering her on was her new husband Lorne Main who at 86 years of age is Canada’s and the world’s most successful seniors tennis player winning over 40 titles on the seniors circuit in the past 30 years. While the competition is targeted at visitors, a number of Ulladulla Tennis Club players also participated with many being successful, especially our coach Kevin Murphy who won 2 events - Men’s Singles and Men’s 75 years Combined Age Doubles with David Ridley. Other locals who did well are: Deb Loves and Kerri Cassidy who won the 75/110 Ladies Combined Age Doubles; Geoff Cook and partner, Belinda Arthur from Wollongong, won the 95/120 Combined Age Mixed Doubles. Paul Woodcock with his partner Elaine Brockett won the 45/65 Age Mixed Doubles. Lee Dickson and Mike Lynn won the 50/55 Age Mixed Doubles.
The Saturday night barbecue for competitors and volunteers was a huge success with President Keith Bonser advising all the visitors that “If you want to have a great tennis club you need a dedicated and hard-working committee, a great coach and generous sponsors and we are very fortunate to have all three.” Mary Lou also said “I wish to give a special thank you to the Milton-Ulladulla District Tennis Association committee members and a number of volunteers who helped tirelessly over the three days working in the canteen, cooking the barbeque, serving liquid refreshments, taking photos and doing the heavy lifting and numerous other jobs.” Congratulations to all involved.
Next year we will celebrate our 20th anniversary and it can only get better.

Ole Miss Women’s Tennis Shuts Out UC Irvine in Season Opener
In the 2017 season opener, the Ole Miss women’s tennis team left no doubt that they were ready, shutting out UC Irvine 7-0 to conclude the first part of their trip out west. They will now head across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii for their next match.
The Rebels won all three doubles matches to begin with the 1-0 lead. Sophomore Tea Jandric quickly made it 2-0 as she shut out her opponent, Jacqueline Tsodikova, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Freshman Alexa Bortles joined the team 10 days ago and stepped right into the lineup in doubles and singles and won both. Her 6-2, 6-1 win over Hali Dickson at No. 6 singles gave the Rebels a 3-0 lead. Bortles also teamed with Natalie Suk for a win at No. 2 doubles.
Senior Zalina Khairudinova finished off the Anteaters, downing Cassidy Branstine 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
At the net… • The Rebels improved to 13-3 in season openers under head coach Mark Beyers. • Senior Zalina Khairudinova improved to a team-leading 7-3 on the year. • Junior All-American Arianne Hartono improved to 6-3 on the year. • Two freshman made their debut. Alexa Bortles and Anna Vrbenska both won in doubles and singles. • The Rebels did not drop a set in any of the singles matches
Thoughts from head coach Mark Beyers… “Solid start to the season. It’s always good to get the butterflies out, play a match and get a ‘W’. I am proud of the way we competed and of our energy level. As we get more practice and match play in, the level of tennis will continue to go up. All-in-all a very good start to the season for us.”

Saunders, Williams Break More Records in Ole Miss Track & Field Opener

The second day of the Ole Miss Rebels’ season-opening track & field meet was much like the first, featuring more NCAA-leading performances and school records.
On Saturday at the Commodore Invitational, Ole Miss throwers put on another powerful display with an NCAA-leading women’s shot put from junior Raven Saunders and a school-record men’s shot put from new Rebel Brian Williams.
On the weekend, Ole Miss athletes recorded two school records, one facility record, two NCAA-leading marks, two event victories, four runners-up and a remarkable 33 indoor personal bests.
“It was a really good first meet,” head coach Connie Price-Smith said. “I was very pleased with the way that most of our athletes competed. Everybody kind of got their feet wet. I think some of the younger ones will be a little less nervous next time out. All they have to do is compete and do what they’ve been doing in the past and in training. Now they know they should be able to compete with anybody out there.”
Saunders, a 2016 Bowerman finalist, picked up where she left off a year ago when she set collegiate records for both indoor and outdoor shot put and placed fifth at the Rio Olympics. The Charleston, South Carolina, native uncorked a throw of 19.10m/62-8 that was a facility record and by far the best in the NCAA this year. It was the second-best indoor throw of her career (behind only her record of 19.23m/63-1.25) and the fifth-best mark in NCAA indoor history. She joins Oklahoma’s Tia Brooks and North Carolina’s Laura Gerraughty as the only women to throw 19 meters on multiple occasions indoors.
“She threw well,” Price-Smith said of Saunders. “It took her a little to find her rhythm, and she found it. It was a good opener for her.”
Saunders’ new teammate, junior college transfer Janeah Stewart, placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 15.67m/51-5 that ranks her third in school history, one day after her NCAA-leading and school-record weight throw.
Not to be outdone by the ladies, junior college transfer Brian Williams made his mark in his Ole Miss shot put debut, shattering an 11-year-old school record with his personal-best mark of 18.83m/61-9.5 that ranks him among the top five or 10 in the NCAA this year. The previous Rebel record of 17.71m/58-1.25 was set by Derek McGuire in 2006.
“It was really nice to see (Janeah and Brian) come out and perform and compete so well,” Price-Smith said. “They were always really capable of those marks, so it was good to see them come in and take off like that.”
The pole vaulters also had a big opener for the 21st-ranked Rebel women. Freshman Sandra Brown took the win in her collegiate debut with a personal-best 4.09m/13-5, good for No. 3 in school history. She led a 1-2-4-4-6 finish for the Rebels, which included junior Lindsey Murray (3.99m/13-1), freshman Nicole Kallenberger (3.89m/12-9), senior Callie Watson (PR 3.89m/12-9) and sophomore Katy McAuley (3.79m/12-5.25).
Other top performers for the women included a personal-best 800-meter run by sophomore Maddie McHugh (2:10.03) to move up to No. 9 in school history and freshman Jeanette Paul clocking a PR 8.70 in the 60-meter hurdles for No. 8 in school history.
Of the 12 men who competed on Saturday, seven were freshmen, many of whom were competing in the first indoor meet of their life. Top performances included freshman Courtland Barnes running 6.94 in the 60 meters and senior Trevor Gilley clocking 4:06.41 in the mile.

The Ole Miss rifle team welcomed No. 3 Murray State and No. 5 Kentucky to open the second half of the 2016-17 season on Jan. 14, while fans enjoyed free Chick-fil-A and coffee.
The Rebels fell to Murray State (4708) and Kentucky (4664) in both air rifle (2345) and smallbore (2279) to post a 4624 aggregate.
Recapping the Match
Ole Miss was led by senior Alison Weisz in air rifle, as she posted her second highest score of her career (595), which was two points off the school record that she set in the fall. Weisz’s score was the second highest in the match behind Murray State’s junior Bobby Broadstreet (597). Sophomore Harley Gardner followed behind Weisz shooting a 587, her fourth highest score this season.
Junior Jessica Haig led the Rebels in smallbore shooting a 574, the same score she shot against Army back in November. This is the third highest score for Haig this season, just five points behind her career high. Gardner followed behind Haig shooting a 571, but despite the uncharacteristic total she fired two perfect scores in prone for the first time. Sophomore Randi Loudin mirrored Gardner as she too shot a perfect 200 in the prone competition. The best score for smallbore in this match was shot by Murray State’s junior Ivan Roe (589).

Talking with Head Coach Marsha Beasley
“This was a very rough day for us. It is always tricky coming back from a long break. Sometimes folks can pick up where they left off, but other times it takes a couple weeks to get back to the level where they were performing,” Beasley said. “We knew Kentucky and Murray State would be tough to beat, but I would like for us to have been more competitive.”
Up Next
The Rebels will travel to Murray, Ky. on Jan. 22 to face No. 11 North Carolina State at 9 a.m. CT. The Wolfpack competed against Nebraska and Army this weekend, topping Army 4673-4668, but falling to Nebraska 4678-4665.

There’s a wee bit about the memorial garden here https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/13259515.makeover-for-memorial-to-29-women-crushed-in-glasgow-workplace-disaster/
