YES!!!
They were both stationed with Clarel. While they were there, they were acquaintances. Nolan was/is a troublemaker lol and Cassian is all business especially when it came to his Warden duties.
But they were some of the few Wardens who realized Clarel was being weird, so they tried to see what was up and ended up having to go awol because when they found out what happened Erimond ordered the other Wardens to kill then.
They were on the run together for a bit, formed a hesitant friendship (on Cassian's side lmao because Nolan is absolute chaos) and ended up joining Lourdes while you know Thedas did its thing of Thedas-ing
