The final records weren't always meant as such as we have seen in our cases here. While we mostly mentioned some bands in that regard, even solo musicians make their last albums without being aware this would've been their ends. I mean, Prince settled on a certain groove on his later records, where one cannot claim he coasted on his former glories, he just did what he wanted to do like always. Still, these later LPs showed we took him for granted before his death. I agree, few of these attempts reach the heights of his 80's, though there are some gems in them that present you with someone who could still be capable of greatness, he just needed a brave editor to focus. You are correct – who would've been foolish enough for that?

Donnie invents a machine that can recreate images from somebody's memories and print them out as a photograph.
He does it for Casey Jr, and prints out the future Hamatos: Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, Cassandra, and April O'Neal. Casey's family.
Our Turtles and Co help Casey put together a small shrine for his deceased family. To honor them and their memory. A way to say goodbye.
Sometimes Casey will sit in front of the shrine and talk about his day. Sometimes he'll talk about his dreams or nightmares.
Sometimes he'll cry and mourn at the shrine; sobbing about how much he misses them.
Sometimes, he just meditates silently. Some days he'll be joined by a member of his current family. A sign of respect.

Cassandra experienced her first Christmas during No Man’s Land, in Azrael: Agent of the Bat 61.
When Batman learns that the Joker is targeting infants, in a bid to murder hope. Oracle sends Batgirl to recruit Azrael. On the way, he opens up to Batgirl about their similar backgrounds as children forged into weapons, and his fears about regressing into that again. She can’t answer in words, but it’s clear that she’s listening in her own way.
Once they get to the clock tower, Barbara has a surprise for them.
Barbara: Here. Merry Christmas. They’re Christmas gifts. Go on - open them. Jean-Paul: Oracle, excuse me, but could you explain “Christmas gifts”?
Jean-Paul, having been raised in the Order of St. Dumas, has only just learned that Christmas even exists. The only holiday he knew growing up involved eating a baby frog. Leslie didn’t have time to explain the origins, but she summed it up as “The birth of the child symbolises the birth of hope...and the presence of love in the world.”
Barbara: I forgot. You two didn’t exactly have normal childhoods, did you? Okay, Az, I’ll try... Gifts are a way of making someone feel good, and when they do, you feel good. When you get a gift, or give one, you feel valued and...not alone, I guess.
She apologises for not getting better gifts; this being No Man’s Land, she couldn’t exactly go shopping. Presumably, she gave Cass her own perfume. She found Jean-Paul a harmonica - a “mouth harp”, which was the closest she could get to the kind angels play.
As they start to patrol, Jean-Paul tries to play his harmonica. Once he gets the hang of it...
Jean-Paul: That was beautiful, Batgirl. A dance, wasn’t it? No? Oh, I get it. It was a gift! You’re gift to me! I wish I had something to give you...but I’m probably a worse dancer than I am a musician.
They reach Camp Lex, and Jean-Paul finally puts on his mask. He promised Leslie not to hurt anyone, and all Azrael can do is fight - but he wants to be able to help Batgirl.
They fight Luthor’s guards to get in, and then they’re confronted by Mercy, who demands invitations. Azrael explains they’re looking for kidnapped children, but she doesn’t care - until she sees baby dolls decorating the tree. Batgirl reaches out to touch one, just as Azrael screams for them to get back.
He shields both of them as the ornaments explode. Mercy calls for a medic; he grabs something gleaming in the snow before passing out.
He wakes up in Leslie’s clinic, where she tells him that he saved both Mercy and Batgirl’s lives.
Jean-Paul: Not me. Azrael. Leslie: Then your alter ego and his silly suit were finally good for something. You were clutching this when they brought you in. Must have blown off the tree. I guess not all the ornaments were explosive
Jean-Paul: Hello, Batgirl. This is for you. Merry Christmas.

do you have a goodreads or a list of the books you've read this year? ^___^
you are very generous to think my scattered mind would be anywhere near organized enough to keep track of things like this 😂💛 I'm happy to make you a list, though! (disclaimer that I read purely for the fun of it these days so a lot of these fall into a similar genre category...you'll know why. no shame. additionally, some of them should include trigger warnings, so please take care of yourself and look that up if you need to!)
Chain of Iron - Cassandra Clare (second in a series and very interconnected to all of her other TSC novels)
The Guest List - Lucy Foley (I completely forgot I read this...you're better off just reading Agatha Christie's iconic And Then There Were None)
Opium and Absinthe - Lydia Kang (this ended up being loosely connected to a book of hers I read last year, A Beautiful Poison, though they're both stand-alones)
The Sundown Motel - Simone St. James
Home Before Dark - Riley Sager
Final Girls - Riley Sager
Down Comes the Night - Allison Saft
The Mary Shelley Club - Goldy Moldavsky
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Last Letter from Your Lover - Jojo Moyes (I read this so I could watch the movie. which I still have not seen)
Ruby Holloway Reads After Dark - Abe Moss (trying to not give commentary here because I don't want this post to be too long, and because tastes are individual! but I would not recommend this book to anyone lol)
The Final Girl Support Group - Grady Hendrix
The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires - Grady Hendrix
Our Last Echoes - Kate Alice Marshall
Stalking Jack the Ripper, Hunting Prince Dracula, Escaping from Houdini, Capturing the Devil (a quartet series, so they're easier to list together!) - Kerri Maniscalco
The Girls Are Never Gone - Sarah Glenn Marsh
Dark and Shallow Lies - Ginny Myers Sain
The Dead and the Dark - Courtney Gould
Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses - Kristin O'Neal
now I'm only trying to decide on the next one
#i still haven't read the duology about nikolai but i know part of what happens and i'm :/// about it so i keep putting it off#so many of these are stories of hauntings and now i'm like: i read that too soon! i should've saved them for october!#anonymous#letterbox#i should've been tagging quotes as i shared them in a specific category or something but that was a recent inspiration and development#jessibat library#or something like that 🦇#me: barely managing to run tumblr. goodreads is Too Much#thank you for asking <3 if you want to know anything specific drop me a note!

Amazing performance by Prince (vox, guitar), (Lil') John Roberts (drums), Raymond McKinley (bass), Kat Dyson (guitar), Morris Hayes (keyboards), Cassandra O'Neal (keyboards), Matthew Rhodes (keyboards), Phil Davis (keyboards), Frank McComb (keyboards, vox), Támar Davis (vox), Sheila E. (percussion, vox), Eddie M. (saxophone), Ray Monteiro (trumpet), Steve Baxter (trombone), Greg Boyer (trombone), Morris Day (vox), Jerome Benton (vox)!
What I really love is how he showcased and really enjoyed the performances of Frank (“We’re a Winner”), Tamar (“I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)”, Morris and Jerome (“The Bird”), and of course the ever glam and talented Sheila E (“The Glamorous Life”). He sang, he played, he “fanned”, everything with his big heart!
