just learned the term "compassion fatigue" and oh boy I didn't realize there was an official term for me feeling like "I care and I care until I don't. and then I'm heartless" bec my problem has always been caring too much until the point I can no longer bring myself to care anymore

I have bent over backwards to help people and when I hit my breaking point I don't have it in me to prevent them from drowning anymore
