Happy Friday, Niri! This all hit me in the shower about two hours ago and it doesn't fit the prompt exactly, but I think it fits the spirit? Anyway, happy DADWC and I hope you enjoy a really rarepair weirdness! 💜💜💜 for @dadrunkwriting

Blasted forest.  Blasted werewolves.  Blasted… talking bloody trees!  Carver stumped his way around the edge of the camp, wishing he hadn’t drawn the straw to take the middle watch.  Leave this shit to the elf, or one of the damned dwarves!  They can see in pitch black, and I’m just tripping over my c - feet.  Void take it, even Morrigan could do a better job if she turned into a bird or a cat or something.

He paused and looked back at the rest of the group sleeping around the fire.  The campsite they’d picked out was too small for tents, so everyone was in bedrolls tonight.  Brosca was in theirs. Leliana was in theirs too.  More power to them, he thought spitefully.  Zev was in his.  Carver’s was, of course, empty, and Oghren was snoring leaning against a tree.  But Alistair, Sten and Morrigan were missing.  Had they left before he got up?  If so, why hadn’t Wynne mentioned it?

And if they’d left after Carver was on watch, why didn’t they say let him know?  Also, how had he missed it?

Furthermore, why would the three of them go anywhere together?  Sten distrusted women and mages, Morrigan hated Alistair personally, and Alistair just wanted them to leave him and each other alone.

Without the jingle of his mail or the thud of his boots, the night was far more quiet than it had any right to be - further proof that something about the Brecilian Forest was unnatural.  As he frowned and tried to figure out what to do, a faint metallic noise drifted from beyond the trees.

Like a weapon sliding on a shield.  

Before he knew it, he was leaving the camp and following what could only be the sound of fighting.

Maker, they really decided to just all three try to kill each other, didn’t they?  What the void for?  Why here, why now?  As he crept through the forest, he tried to remember if anything had been off during the evening meal.  Morrigan had been asking Sten questions that left them both looking flustered and annoyed, but that wasn’t really new. One of them was always pissing off someone, either out of deliberate spite (Morrigan) or stubborn obstinance (Sten).  But what did that have to do with Alistair?

A river was somewhere to his left, wide enough that the tree cover let the moonlight through.  The reflection made everything look and feel like the Fade, and reminded him of the times Bethany had accidentally dragged him into her own dreams.  He’d asked Morrigan about that one night, and she’d rolled her eyes and scoffed that he’d heard too many sermons on the evils of apostasy.

A few nights later, when he was on first watch, she’d asked him why he wanted to know, and listened to him with an intensity in those captivating yellow eyes that bordered on feverish.  In a roundabout fashion, Carver found her company the easiest of everyone, except Brosca.  She was an apostate, and knew all about the dangers of Templars, even if her mother had been a bit more… direct in getting rid of them than theirs ever had been.

She was still a bitch after that, of course.  Never gave him the time of day, or treated him with anything but contempt, but it was comforting in its own odd way.  She didn’t like him on his own merits, not for anything Garrett or Bethany had done or not done, and Maker, that was refreshing.. 

Focus.  Maker knew what Morrigan was up to now, or what Sten and Alistair might be doing to her.  He sped up, still moving toward the sound of metal, until something large and furry hit his back.  There was no time or space to pull out his sword, but he got his belt knife out as he felt forward and stabbed up behind him.  

The bear bellowed - Andraste’s flaming asshole, I’m wrestling a bear, I’m going to die - and swatted him to the ground as it fell on top of him, knife still stuck in its shoulder.  What’s the thing?  Play dead and they’ll get bored?  Or is that wolves?  Or mountain cats?  I’m so dead.

Carver grabbed at the knife and slashed at its throat, determined to at least make it pay for its next meal, and the damn thing batted it away as he leaned over him with a low threatening growl before everything felt sideways and watery, then Morrigan was on top of him, bleeding from shoulder and throat, and hands covered in dirt and moss where they dug into his shirt.

Is there any way tonight can get any weirder?  “What the -”

Hey I just saw that post you reblogged about matching two characters together who never met in canon and giving them elaborative backstories. And like, you mentioned Carver and Alistair (who I love btw) , and Carver and Morrigan and like!!!! I never even THOUGHT of them together but you tagging them felt like a punch over the head and I'm super intrigued now! You said you had some ideas for them? Do you mind sharing them, I'm super curious.

Honestly it’s more of a Vibe than specific ideas but yeah I think they’d work really well together, especially in origin timeline! But here are some of my thoughts, keeping in mind I’m kinda rusty with my dragon age knowledge currently 🥲

First off, I think there’s the potential for some interesting stuff with their attitudes around family. Family is so important to Carver, but he also has a complex relationship with them. Family (and connection in general) is also important to Morrigan but in a different way given…y’know, Flemeth and Morrigan’s upbringing. I think that would be interesting to explore and the way they’d comfort and challenge each others views would fun.

Carver would let Morrigan show her softer side while she’d allow him to be honest and show *his* bitchier side (which neither of them would have been able to do as much given their “role” in their families). They’d encourage each other to show that other side to the, but also challenge each other and keep each other accountable.

Then Carver can have a kind of dumb, goofy sense of humour (especially after processing the trauma of Ostegar and Lothering) and Morrigan is snarkier and can be a lot blunter and I think they’d balance each other out. She’d roll her eyes at him but ultimately be entertained and Carver would enjoy her but also push back if she went too far and they’d bring out the other side in each other a bit more.

Plus if it’s warden!carver during origins, you can get Carver being Kieran’s father and I loooove Carver with kids! And then it makes Kieran relates to Hawke too which can allow for

And thennn I just personally love Morrigan with sweet men who can be a little goofy and encourage her to be open and I feel like Carver fits that, and I love Carver with assertive women who can boss him around if they wanted to (and he does want them too imo 😏, so like…Isabella, my oc Eila…) and Morrigan fits that too.

And idk, I’m not great at identifying exactly why I like things and explaining character thoughts haha but *marge simpson voice* I just think they’re neat

It's Over (An Eddie Munson x Horror!Bimbo Angst Blurb)

Synopsis: No warnings except for necromancy, worshipping death goddesses, and zombie boyfriends.

This is after the event of '86, I read that a lot of people left Hawkins, Indiana, lets find out where they went.

Everyone moved.

‘85 was already enough, then ‘86 just took the cake to be perfectly honest.

It began with the well to do families of Loch Nora, like the Harringtons and the Carvers and The Cunninghams, and then everyone else eventually followed.

People didn’t even want to be in the state anymore to be perfectly honest, and somehow a good amount of people ended up moving to the Chicago suburb of Glenview, Illinois.

The Wheelers, The Hendersons, The Sinclairs, so many fled to Glenview.

With it’s picturesque Autumns and Dickensian Winters, this was the place to settle.

After losing a lot of their children, people tend to want to go as far away as they were able.

And when Dustin and Moth brought Eddie back from the dead, Glenview was where Moth brought her Eddie.

She took her revived Eddie with her in his old van (Wayne gave her most of his possessions, it’s definitely what he would have wanted.) , packed her things and ignored her parents' pleas, and drove up to Illinois. She took her savings, the birthday money her grandparents gave her, to rent a four bedroom house in Glenview, with Robin and Steve.

She well and thoroughly felt like Kurt Russell from escape from New York.

When Eddie died, she was either going to respond with suicide or bringing him back from the dead, summoning all her dark forces from Hel, from The Morrigan  using her own blood, his belongings and an exchange.

And who was that sacrifice?

She needed a good one, and she knew what it meant and how severe it was to exchange one person's life for another but she needed Eddie, she needed him so badly.

She found his father, Alan, living in Indianapolis on parole, she lured him in to let him know his son had died, and as he accused his cause being drugs accused her kind, sweet, quirky Eddie of being a low life, she wrapped a chord of Eddie’s guitar around his neck nearly severing his head off, and it was the final ingredient to the recipe.

It wasn’t all roses when Eddie returned from the dead.

He was still learning to be alive again, sort of in a vegetable state. It had Steve and Robin worry about her and fall into depression, but she never gave up, and in between working at a strip club in Chicago, she was trying to get him to remember, she refused to give in to bringing the dead back is a mistake and there are consequences, with Lilith on her side she refused.

One year later, while she was making a Chinese dumpling soup she got from a magazine, she heard a groan like someone was stretching, like someone was waking up from the best nap of their life, and her heart fell in her stomach when she heard the upbeat familiar voice say “Fuck I’m stiff, shit that smells so good, what are we having Moth?”

Valda Aeducan x Leliana

Named after a former great queen of the aeducan house, Valda is a proud warrior with her mother's eyes and her father didn't even try to hide that she was his favorite, causing both brothers to resent her...(Also, all dwarves can grow beards! Most women in orzammar just chose not to... probably due to a human lover of a paragon at one point who accidentally made it a fad in her time lol...When she gets to the surface Valda starts to occasionally grow hers out)

Antoinette "Atton" Tabris x Morrigan

Atton is very butch and most non elves mistake her as a man, something she used to her advantage to survive the alliangae, she's a rogue with quick hands and a quicker wit. she has a lot of rage against nobles and she doesn't try to hide it (she and Valda exist in tandem and it takes *awhile* for them to get along)

Marian "Rain" Hawke x Isabela x Merrill

("Wow hawke, how come the Maker lets you have TWO GFS?!") To strangers she's a sarcastic ass who comes across as borderline lackadaisical, but her inner circle knows shes extremely driven and can be deadly serious when needed, had a twin brother who died at ogstagar to save carver so he in turn could save their family, it took her well over a year to even say his name again.

Pallegina Trevelyan x Sera (Trevelyan)

Youngest of seven, greatness was never really expected of Pallegina, who was always a bit quiet and socially awkward, she didn't take to politics as quick as her siblings, and was usually just ignored by her parents, but one of her older brothers trained her with the sword and shield and she proved to be a natural warrior, she was sent to the conclave as an expendable formality. Thanks to the support of her friends she's taken to being the inquisitor remarkably well... tho Josephine often has to work overtime to fix her many faux pas

So this is quite niche because it’s from a game over 10 years old, but I extremely ship the Hawke siblings from Dragon Age 2. It’s weird because the fandom is so extremely against incest, yet they often talk about how they want to bang Bethany or Carver. ?!!! Yet I can’t post about Hawke fancying their sibling because that’s too far, lmao.

There are Dragon Age fans who ship and produce incest content, but we’re rather quiet and have to stay in our own corners. I’ve been blocked by blogs I’ve never interacted with. Sucks but that’s how it is.
