That title awakened a ship i forgot I shipped 💀
Idk how it is in TKC but I've read one fic in which Nico calls Carter "Pharaoh Kane" and I think that's pretty neat.

Nicarter ~ Fantasies
Tumblr media
It was his last chance, everything else had failed.
The death of his mother had been hard enough, but it's really when his father joined her that Carter became obsessed with the idea of knowing. Knowing where they were, if they reached the right side, what was the right side...
He didn't say a word to Sadie, too afraid to take her with him in his grief. And as a sorcerer coming from a family of even more powerful sorcerers, he should be able to handle this on his own.
But the more he thought about it the more he thought he should have told her. That way he wouldn't be standing alone before this dark, beautiful and frightening angel with dark wings claiming to know a way to the underworld.

Location: Shard Fortress
Author: GlassGuts on FR Flight: Shadow Type: City Fortress/Ruins
The Shard Fortress is located deep within the Ghostlight Ruins that border Shadow and Plague. It's a crumbling underground city, left abandoned long ago. There is a large castle central to it, from which the rest of the fortress territory seems to radiate out. It is now inhabited by the Cartico Clan, a plague clan who moved to shadow, driven out by beastclans attacking their original clan. The clan has settled in the fortress, and as they radiate out and gain more territory so does the fortress expand, crumbling pillars and half wrecked buildings repaired and made home by the clan. To the western outskirts of the Fortress is a secret oasis, Kallah's grove. It is a source of food and fresh water for the clan, and is maintained by a nature and wind spirit. In the grove is a giant pool that tunnels down and out into the sea of a thousand currents. Clan Customs

You've mentioned that you ship Cartercy? Consider Carter/Frank, also known as Frankane. Additonally, Nico/Carter aka Nicarter. And also, do you ship Frank/Nico as well?
Never considered Frankane but why not ? When I imagine a PJO/HOOxTKC crossover I picture Frank bonding with Zia and Carter, so I think they could be cool as more than friends : serious, shy, nice, but strong courageous and ready to sacrifice themselves for their friends. A good combination.
Nicarter, friends, I'm SURE they would be friends they have to be : I want them to talk about magic, ancient gods, and bonding over their family/sister problems. I want Carter to regularly visit Nico in his Underworld and Carter would invite him to his, to meet his parents. So yes I ship, probably one of my favorite crossover's ships.
And for Frico/Franko/Nank, I don't know, I've never been into it. As friends ? Absolutely, I'm totally for it. But as a couple ? I see how you could make them work (lack of self-confidence, caring, family issues, need of affection) but I don't find a lot of interest in this ship. Sorry.

Lin grimaced as she wedged herself further into a thin frozen crevice. The ice was clear and pristine, which was interesting, but not as much as the magical presence in the area. It was so strong she could feel it heavy in the air, almost pushing down on her. She was supposed to be heading home, but instead she'd been tempted by rumors of arcane fluctuations far into the ice.
For once the rumors looked like they may be true, and Lin could feel herself getting closer to her prize. She didn't know if it was triggered by her presence, or just a coincidence, but the earth had begun to tremble, the walls shivering beneath her. Except, that wasn't right. Lin's earth magic told her that solid ground was far below, and unmoving. So, the tremors were coming from further in the ice. And by now, nearing the end of the tunnel, she could feel them rippling out from whatever was ahead.
She stepped out into a surprisingly large dome within the ice, smoothed and spiraling with lines of runic symbols that Lin didn't understand. And her main pass time was delving into ancient tombs and crumbling ruins. But what interested her more was the jagged chunk of ice in the middle of the room.
Lin took a step forward, only to freeze and watch in awe as the runes around her began to slowly glow an arcane pink, circling around until it reached the large piece in the middle. For the first time, Lin wondered if perhaps she was getting in over her head. She shrugged it off as she paced around the middle, staring around at the ice, bigger than she was even. It was steadily glowing bright and brighter, Lin found herself staring, almost entranced for a moment. She raised a gloved hand, almost about to touch it.
Except, she had to squint to look at it now, and as the air around her began to quite literally hum with energy, she actually listened to her instincts and took a step back. A little too late, because the moment she did the ice in the middle exploded in a flash of bright light. Little splinters of ice scattered across her cheeks as Lin was thrown back, and into darkness.
Lin woke with a gasp and then a groan as her head throbbed in pain. The runes glowed around her still, so she must not have been out for long. Except, the ice in the middle. Something WAS different. There was another dragon laying where the thing had been. Lin might have doubted the story it told, but there was shards of ice scattered all around the other. She grit her teeth as she got to her feet quietly, though it didn't seem like the other dragon was awake.
Pacing closer, Lin wasn't sure whether or not to be relieved to see breath coming out in frosted wisps. She took a closer look at the stranger. It was now clear that the dragon was a skydancer, long dark red hair falling all around her. Pink crystals or ice, Lin wasn't sure which, gleamed along the skydancer's face in polished slashes.
Lin's head raced as she took in the entirety of her situation. She would have to leave. Something had happened during...whatever had just happened, because now she could feel tremors coming from the actual earth, and she had the feeling this place was about to collapse in on itself. But. What about this dragon. She hadn't expected this. A strange ghostly tome buried with a skeleton in the ice is what she'd expected at most!
She reached down to touch, but gasped as the other dragon came awake in a flash. A small but strong hand gripped her wrist, as glittering pink ice spread from her to Lin and up her arm. "Hey hey calm down, I'm here to help! I'm going to get you out of here!" Lin yelped out, trying to pull away. At this, the other had calmed down, now staring up at Lin. She had strange eyes, and they were somehow both intense and muted. Without a word, she looked away from Lin and removed her hand, the ice melting away.
She stood to stand, and Lin started towards the entrance to the tunnel. Only to turn around at the sound of the skydancer quite literally passing out. Clenching her teeth at this surreal situation, Lin rushed over, hefting the other dragon into her arms with ease. Facing the tunnel once more, she sighed. "Well...fuck."

Shard Fortress territory layout:
Castle: Central point of Fortress, mostly just a meeting point for higher ranking members / the council. Vault: A giant secret chamber beneath the castle. This is where the clan hoards all valuable items.
Inner ring: Protected by Mava’s shield. Ring might be misleading, it’s actually a few rings of expanded building / territory that continues to push further out. Contains housing / merchant areas and such.
Outer ring: Outside of the shield but still considered clan territory. Mostly because it’s close enough that enemies still pose a danger to the inner rings / shield. First ring is patrolled by guards, but beyond that most ghouls / etc. are left to their own so long as they dont cause any problems (in which case someone may be sent to dispatch them).
Kallah’s grove: A secret grove located just outside of the inner ring. A strange sheltered cove-like formation, the ceiling above is broken and it’s one of the few places where sunshine truly falls. It to slowly expands the longer it exists, and is maintained by the nature spirit Kallah’s life force, along with the help of her friend Mirth. A large pool resides within the grove. At it’s center lies an underwater tunnel that leads out to the Sea.  This area is kept a secret to prevent tampering.
Trade routes: Four mini-forcefield protected roads extend from each direction of the Fortress and out of the ruins. This is to encourage people to travel through the normally hostile ruins and to help facilitate trade and such within the fortress.

My fav boy has been way overdo for a bio, and I finally got him one! I also updated his look a little
Bio code by @fimbrethil-fr! As always, I’m a big fan of more minimalist bio layouts.
Bio text under the cut b/c it’s kind of small in the screenshot
“ A strange child found as a hatchling wandering the ghostlight ruins. Ultimately adopted by Hiraeth and Sinic, the three share a deep familial bond obvious to even outsiders. Though slightly out of their depth, the two found raising Mirror to be delightful, and Hiraeth especially proved herself to be surprisingly adept at parenting. After teaching him to sign, the two allowed him to pick his own name (as Hiraeth had as a child), and, though odd, accepted his decision when instead of signing anything, he simply pointed to a mirror at the wall. By this point, both Hiraeth and Sinic had started to realize Mirror was different in more ways than just his silence. They often found him just staring into reflections, and worried something was wrong until one night Sinic found him in his dreams, during which Mirror spoke, waking him up. After Hiraeth took him to see Alice, hoping for advice on what was happening, they discovered that Mirror actually had true sight, a rare ability to see the true essence of things, including other dragons. However, his powers were not yet honed, and he could only see the truth in reflections. Alice offered to help mentor Mirror in using his abilities, and Mirror happily accepted. As he grew, he took to wearing as much reflective bits as he could, though as his powers grew stronger he began to have glimpses of true sight even outside of reflections. His dream walking powers also grew stronger, and combined gave him an odd ability to converse with beings not totally of this plane. Against the rules set for the clan, he began to wander into the ruins alone and began to observe and interact with the various ghoul-adjacent denizens that wander the skirts of the clan's territory in the Ghostlight Ruins. The most notable being Croix, who Mirror grew quite close too.”
——Mirror is still young, and still surprisingly trusting and naive when it comes to others. He manages to find goodness in all, even those that may seem completely corrupted by the shade or other forces. Where some may use his abilities to hunt, Mirror uses his to heal, trying to use his true sight to pinpoint the pain in others and draw it out. As a result, he's a very beloved member of the clan, and even some enemies and shade beings have sworn allegiance to him after being helped one way or another. Though he's never had real reason to use them, he has also trained under Hiraeth in the various arts of self defense and weapons, including combative magic. Still, rest assured that were anyone ever to harm a scale on his head, he has several dragons who would be happy to jump to his aid and wreak payback. Currently, he is simply enjoying exploring the new light territory around him, but there's a nagging urge to explore the Hewn City that he knows he shouldn't follow, but eventually will give into.
Notes:
- Knows sign language but can speak almost telepathically with others who may have adjacent abilities - Very interested in studies of otherwordly entities - Will go out of his way to inspect something curious

Also like, I havent really talked about how the light retcon affected the clan’s but basically:
Nix was still making a deal with the shade, pretending to be communing with the Shadowbinder. My clan’s council leader / seer, who actually is a fragment of the shadow goddess herself, thinks this is weird because she hasn’t heard anything from the god, but doesn’t think to question it further b/c thats just how gods are sometimes. (though they don’t find out, the shade was preventing the goddess from reaching out to the progenitor and giving her info on what was truly happening)
Fast forward to bounty of the elements, with all the gods suddenly going radio silent. Now, Nix doesn’t have a reason for exalting, because why would she bother with a god who isn’t responding? But, the shade isn’t silent, and knowing that in it’s hunger it will grow angry, she’s faced with running away or coming clean to the clan.
She ends up telling the council what she’s done, horrifying everyone and further driving Alice from her. Despite this, Alice vouches not to have her banished, instead saying she should be forced to help fix her mistakes. The council decides that the clan will stand it’s ground. After all, they live in the ruins, so this stuff is mostly par for the course ALREADY, its just that they are going against the Big Bad.
Mava makes her forcefield. Where nix and her exalters would usually be... well, exalting, they are now tasked with making sure every member of the clan has basic fighting skills.
The Shade hasn’t yet done anything, but Nix feels like it’s not the last she or the clan have heard of it. Nix is no longer part of the council, and her and her apprentices now must try to redeem themselves in the eyes of their clan and themselves.

Also I think I missed the band wagon a little but since I finally have a moment to chill on my laptop before work I’m gonna talk about pearls :3c thankfully, I only have 4 pc’s so this won’t be a very long post:
Tumblr media
Ava’s pearl is probably the most unique so I’ll talk about it first. It’s perfectly round and emits a soft glow. If you look into it, a galaxy swirls within, almost like that viniq vodka lol. Anyways, Ava was originally an imperial, who found the pearl sitting at the bottom of a fairy pool. Those who know better would have let it be, because a faintly glowing pearl that you can hear humming out to you should probably not be investigated, but Ava was young and curious. Looking into the pearl, she felt her entire body burn and she blacked out, waking up changed into a PC. Not only that, but the pearl had given her strange powers (she can see ‘red strings of fate’, amongst other things). She now has a vague voice in the back of her head that tells her how use her powers, and will also randomly have a memory imparted onto her from the pearl. She’s unsure who the original pearl’s owner was, but it seems as if it’s been passed along, because it has more than one voice and type of memory in it.
Tumblr media
Naz’s pearl is similar. Naz is actually a maren princess, who ran away pissed off after an argument with her family. Prone to exploring and with a secret love for dragon things, it’s no surprise that she’s immedialtey drawn to a glimmer of light on the sea floor. When she gets closer, she finds a pearl that also seems to hum out to her with magic. In a trance, she touches it, and like Ava her body burns as she’s changed. Naz still isn’t sure of the true nature of her pearl, but as long as she’s touching it and water, she can turn from maren to dragon, though her default appearance was forever turned monstrous by the pearl’s curse.
Tumblr media
The only thing left of Cupid’s pearl is a small shard he wears on a necklace and keeps tucked out of sight. Maybe his demonic nature could be tracked to whatever destroyed his pearl and memories?
Tumblr media
Fara’s pearl is rather big, and in an act of taboo she doesn’t really carry it with her unless she’s using it for something. Most often, it’s sitting on a table in her shop (though w/ the clan being a caravan atm, it’s probably hidden away in a luggage bag). It’s a normal pearl, born from her own memories, but it’s also filled with moonlight energy and her memories of all sorts of strange arcane enchantments. She uses it often for enchantment rituals, but of course she keeps her techniques secret. Though it’s also a taboo for other’s to look into a pc’s pearl, it was not uncommon to walk into her shop and find both her and her arcane sprite peering into it silently, as if studying.

Also I’m gonna take a moment to ramble about kallah’s grove and it’s inhabitants and the whole move thing affecting them.
Kallah has been a part of the clan since it started in plague, and her job (maintaining a secret grove to help feed the clan) has never changed. However, even for a strange nature spirit she’s getting pretty old, and when she settles she bonds her life force to the place she builds her grove. Everytime she moves, it’s extremely taxing on her.
When the trade routes first opened, Kallah sensed a similar presence in the fortress and, seeking it out, found Carya, a homeless dryad who Kallah instantly took under her wing. Teaching Carya all she knew, the two formed an inseparable bond as mentor/apprentice, almost pushing into mother/daughter boundaries. When word of the move reached her, Kallah knew it was what would be best for the clan, but deep down knew that she would be extremely weak after uprooting again.
For Carya it wasn’t a problem, as a dryad she experienced the same difficulties Kallah did, but she hadn’t been in the fortress long enough to properly bond to the grove, and leaving it only took a little out of her.
As Kallah grew weaker, it became Carya’s duty to care for her the way only a fellow nature aligned spirit could. Mirth, who had long since been Kallah’s loyal (if not bitter) companion, could also since Kallah’s waining life force. But, Kallah kept a brave face, and since she didn’t bring it up, Mirth accepted it, supporting her in silent ways as he felt their time grow shorter and shorter.
When they arrive in light, the sun does Kallah good, her feathers bristling out as if blooming under the heat, but Mirth could sense it would only slow the inevitable.
Currently, the grove’s residents travel with the clan caravan and, on top of their current obstacles, now also have to deal with no longer being secret. Naz especially is subject to constant questioning, but none of the grove’s members are normal dragons, and attention is unavoidable.
Still, they are slowly learning to adapt with the rest of the clan. As the bond between Brook, Naz, Carya, and the rest of the clan’s members strengthen while they get to know each other, Kallah’s life force dims, and Mirth contemplates what he will do when their situation reaches it’s inescapable conclusion.
