HELLO ALL!!

I have just seen Carousel (shoutout to those rush tickets) and let me tell you, I think it is SO WORTH SEEING. It’s really great to see Jessie singing more classically and it’s just so great. You know from the very start that it deserved best choreography.

I don’t want to go into too much detail as I don’t want to spoil anything, but Nicholas Belton was on for Billy (where’s my Comet friends out there) and I’m in AWE of him. He is so talented and was flawless in this role. That is all.

There was another understudy on today for Nellie? Nettie? Her name was one of those but I’m too tired rn, but she was SO GOOD guys GO SEE THE UNDERSTUDIES. That is all.

Happy #worldtheatreday @greatcometbway was the very first broadway musical I saw when I arrived in New York. It was a gorgeous show that I’m grateful I got to see the weekend it closed. I had originally planned to see Hamilton for my birthday in March. In fact, I’d ordered the tickets before I moved. But when I found not outrageously priced tickets to see Michael Luwoye return to the Rodgers, I couldn’t pass it up. It surpassed my expectations. @spongebobbway was my happy place. Having a bad day? Crazy roommate? Didn’t get the job? Seeing Spongebob was the answer. I’ll always be sad it closed too early. It was pure joy and a stellar company. I’ll be first in line to see what all of them do next. @carouselbway was heartbreaking for me. Having just lost my dad in November, and going into this show blind was a surprise to say the least. Themes of death & fatherhood had me sobbing from ‘Soliloquy’ all the way to the end. Joshua Henry broke me in the best possible way that night. @hohmusical opening weekend during Pride was phenomenal. Another show that closed too early, and I hope it has a chance to spread its message and love. The company was everything, and seeing Bonnie Milligan on stage playing a princess who was was my size? And wasn’t the butt of jokes? And who loves a woman? Outstanding. I always say that I need a less expensive hobby, and I might have to eat more instant ramen than I should (yay for being a broke grad student), but I’m extremely grateful that theater gives me something more than pure entertainment.
