Cari is still often mistaken for a sun-positive drowned due to her red clothing making her eyes appear red, silver hair, and grey skin. It still pisses her off.

🫀 & 🧭
[ 🫀 ] does your muse make decisions with their head or their heart? perhaps a bit of both?
Shade: Primarily with her head, she's much more strategical in her thinking and likes to do things she knows have a chance to work. On rare occasions she might operate based on emotions, but she tries to stay away from it.
Careil: As smart as she is, I don't think Careil has heard of forward planning. Most of her "strategies" in life have gone "Learn from x person -> Do some questing -> Get rich from questing -> become most powerful fire mage ever -> gains." The vast majority of her decisions are made from a mix of emotions/heart and pure hubris.
Mili: Her decision making is a bit of both. She was raised by a demon war general and a professional "fighter for hire" aka neutral aligned mercenary/guard. She knows how to survive nd how to plan out attacks, but she also tends to live life and think about one goal at a time, so her heart and emotions can very quickly make her shift gears into a completely different and separate plan and goal.
Rowan: Pure heart baby, with an occasional use of her head, but that's often to make her decisions alight with her personal idea of right and wrong. While she is very smart, she is also very prone to doing things based on her feelings at the moment with only a few moments of foreplaning or debating if it will help her in the future.
Cerda: She likes to claim she makes decisions with her mind, but very often she is acting from her heart. If she is actively working then she is in pure logic mode, but otherwise she is indeed a creature of the heart.
Evelyn: Both and she is very aware of it. Unlike Shade she does not hide from her emotions since it fuels her magic, but she also doesn't try to hide decision reasoning as something they are not. It's taken her a long time to work on, and it's not perfect, but a lot of it also comes from a deep sense of low self-worth based on occupation and social rank (being a strega and scout, both of which are viewed as either low or near non existent in Remulan society) and aren't horribly healthy. It's still a work in progress.
[ 🧭 ] does your muse consider themselves a good person? why or why not?
Shade: Yes, she does her best to do good by her home, friends, country, etc. She believes that actions make the person.
Careil: Yes, and she believes in her own inherent virtue rather than her actions. As long as she is comfortable with herself, she cannot see herself as being anything less than good and right (often she is not right, not evil either, but not right).
Mili: Mili would categorize herself as good, as she does try to protect the majority of people when she can, and will often help the weak. She also understand that her decisions are often made selfishly, her help to big towns often comes with a price tag, which isn't the nicest thing. She doesn't believe that niceness makes goodness though, and honestly only cares what her loved ones think of her. nice =/= good, but selfish or self-serving =/= evil and she uses that as her personal moral compass and to explain herself. As long as she doesn't actively wish to hurt innocent people, she sees herself as generally good.
Rowan: She is a firm believer that nice = good, and frames her goodness largely on public perception of her. She relies more on other's ideas of her than she lets on, and a lot of her confidence comes from the idea that she is a good person at her core, and she believes that is evident by her being a nice and likable person.
Cerda: She believes she is good, and would be shocked and distressed if someone counteracted that idea. Despite operating based on emotion, she is a very analytical person and is very likely to examine a new idea should it be presented, but until anything is presented or a challenge comes to her views she is unlikely to examine them on her own.
Evelyn: She believes so and has been told so, but she is also continually examining herself and her role in the empire she lives in and is constantly trying to prove her own goodness. She will not deny having helped do wrong in the name of the empire though, and does worry on the regular if she is effecting things in a bad way, or a good way as a small cog in the clock of time and life.

Shop Shenanigans
Careil snatched up an herb from the shop, putting it in her basket and moving on the the next shelf to see if there was anything she could use there. Beside her her large grey wolf companion was holding a separate basket, one meant to hold everything once she left. So long as Elrohir had it she was sure no one would try to steal her ingredients.
Spotting the last vial of mugwart on a particularly tall shelf she reached for it, only to watch it be snatched up just before her twitching fingers could push it closer to her.
“Hey!” She snapped her attention to the offender who had her mugwart. Her nose was crinkled in her displeasure, amber eyes flashing near as bright as her dress. True, she had yet to buy it and hadn’t even touched the item yet but - “That was mine!”

highlighting eyes
Shades eyes are simple to make more apparent, as golds and reds will make them appear warmer and more golden than brown. She vary rarely, if ever, wears either color though, and instead they they just look very dark due to her adherence to black and silver clothing, her green tunic the only real color appearing in her wardrobe. Careil has attempted to make her appear flashier, but only succeeded in her having her Hat of Disguise disguise itself as a silver leaf hair piece to keep her hair from her eyes.
Careil’s eyes, being an amber color, change much more dramatically with what she’s wearing. If she is ever in formal wear or representing her clan (which calls for her to wear pale blue and silver as those are her clan colors) the yellow and golden tone in her eyes are much more apparent. They’ll appear to be more on the burnished gold or orange side of amber, but if she wears red as she likes, the red in the center of her irises becomes far more apparent and they look more like fire or red amber. This is a trait that Careil prides herself on, especial as not many in her clan wear red to achieve this effect, and she’s fairly average in looks among her clan otherwise (she’s short for a Sindarian, plus grey skin and silver hair is the norm) so she views her eyes as her best feature. She especially loves wearing red to show them off, though she doesn’t wear gold very often, largely cause she thinks its overused despite the fact that it would warm or mimic her eyes.

Threat Levels in a fight
Shade: Looks like she can kill you and can.
Careil: Doesn’t look like she can kill you, but 80% chance she’ll burn you alive.
Mili: Looks like she could kill you in a fight or by roasting you (verbally or literally). Can and will do either.
Rowan: Doesn’t look like she could kill you, but will hurt your feelings and make you cry before stabbing you in the knees.
Evelyn: Doesn’t look like she can kill you but can.
Cerda: Doesn’t look like she could kill you and probably can’t. She can destroy your reputation though.

Drunk Headcanons
Because I keep rewatching the beach episode of Helluva Boss and drunk Moxxie brings me life, it also gave me ideas as to how everyone here acts while drunk.
LONG post below because I had too much fun writing these.
Shade: She has the highest tolerance, and very rarely is she ever seen drunk. The few times she has been people rarely tell the difference, but the real difference is she is SLIGHTLY more talkative (going from barely talking to maybe saying something once an hour when not in conversation). Because of her stoic reputation, and the fact that she rarely talks and doesn’t slur when drunk (she appears to be perfectly sober even if she manages to reach shitfaced levels), people take her drunk observations as nuggets of wisdom for some reason. There have been a few moments when someone told her she bestowed her half-high-elven wisdom upon them or must be a fae guardian (because cheekbones) and she has no idea what the fuck they’re talking about. One time, because she’d said something like “it’s is bland and flavorless” about her ale, someone thought she was talking about their life choices because they mentioned mine work to be boring right before, then they popped in the next day and announced to Shade that they decided to pursue being a polka-playing bard instead to “bring flavor into” their lives due to her wise words.
Careil: You thought this girl was full of herself before? You ain’t seen nothing. While she has a high tolerance that rivals Shades due to Sindarians being renowned for their wine, she is more likely to et drunk due to overestimating her own tolerance. Her already high confidence grows to join the heavens, and drunk Cari finds it fun to flirt with any and everyone and “promise to take marriage proposals seriously and give you an answer upon the ‘marrow” since this ace baby winds up making herself a little harem of men who wish to be her life mate and get under her skirts (which won’t happen until marriage due to tradition and her not caring about sex in general). By morning she usually forgets and gets surrounded and asked about her choice, to wich she takes great pleasure in telling them that none are good enough for the position of her life mate and proceeds to leave town with her chin high and confidence boosted more than usual for that day.
Mili: Is surprisingly lazy. The normally active Tiefling gets sleepy, cuddly, clingy, or all three at once. This usually results in her usual distaste for being touched by anyone outside of her close-knit circle to break down and she will initiate contact be trying to climb sorta-friends backs for piggy back rides or trying to sleep in sorta-friends laps, shoulders, anything. She’s like a clingy cat. If there is no one she views as even a sorta-friend nearby she will be grouchy and hide in a corner to sleep until a friend comes to fetch her. Without telling any friends where she is in the first place. Which makes her even grouchier come a hang-over and no friends in sight the next morning.
Rowan: Is there even a difference? Rowan is usually the life of any party and constantly mistaken for a child due to her short stature and round face, but when drunk she may act like it a bit more. She is a very impulsive being, but when drunk the very few inhibitions she has are completely down, leading her to be much more petty at times if upset, more odd, and more likely to accept challenges. Challenges such as one time a friend had flipped a coin next into a barrel of ale near her and Rowan, who was anger drinking at the time and progressively becoming more pouty and “I am so an adult” petty due to mockery, accepted his challenge to fetch the coin without her hands. She dove into the barrel head first, got the coin, and popped back up very proud of herself. When further mocked and called less than civilized, she got out, fetched her stuff and drunkenly played an angry song on her lute as she, still drenched and dripping, waddled out of the tavern and back to the campsite to pout.
Evelyn: Since alcohol lowers her ability to sense things around her, Evie doesn’t drink very often. This makes her a bit of a lightweight and she can get buzzed by one good drink, and drunk by three. At the buzzed stage she simply is more relax and less guarded, making her a lot easier to be around and a lot more fun. By the drunk stage she has given everyone new nicknames that only make sense in her head, and is willing to join inane competitions like singing, bottle flipping, etc. If she goes past this she is simply passed out and sleeping wherever she was drinking at.
Cerda: Can handle her booze more than her designated Strega, but she is definitely a social drinker and doesn’t drink often either. Cerda is more fun when buzzed and drunk, likely to join crowds in cheering for whatever is being cheered for, because cheering is fun, or demonstrating her magical abilities regarding aquamancy. She is also a “woo-hoo” girl and will cheer at any and every little thing because she likes to encourage people.

Conversation
Careil: Shade! Read this!
Shade: *looking over note after Careil smacks her in the face with it.* I see... I see. Yup.
Careil: Can you believe the insults this plebian has given me! It was only one burned chicken, how could they be so rude!
Shade: Ah, that's what it was talking about?
Careil: You READ the letter! You should know! That's why you said 'yup' like the barn kid you are.
Shade: No...I said 'yup' because I confirmed that I still have no idea how to read. Anyway *gives letter back gently* you should go apologize to that farmer for setting his chicken coop on fire. I thought you had but if he's writing I can guess you haven't.

Afterlife Headcanons:
Upon death, Mili's soul is going to be claimed and reconstructed into that of a full demon (but identical to her fully infernal form in the prime of her life) by Asmodeus so that she may work in service to him, as per her ancestors agreement. I feel like the main job she'd be given is that of an enforcer, where she's either made to lead small groups or go on solo hunts to make sure others under Asmodeus' thumb are toeing the line. A side thing/when she's not deployed would have her working as a singer or entertainer in that method, because he'll have a siren-decendant who can use 3+ vocal octaves at once and for different levels (she can basically harmonize with herself) whose magic has a sedation and luringeffect. If he doesnt utilize that he's a fool.
Careil is going to go into the Sindarian Afterlife among the stars with the goddess Selune (homebrew from long ago).
Shade is likely to get into Valhalla or another Nordic Warrior Afterlife.

Something I thought off that made me laugh: The prominence of literally ripping stockings or even corsets and expensive dresses off of women alongside the line of "I'll buy you a new one" in a show of dominance and "sexy" confidence before getting to the deed in the romance genre. And how my gals would respond should anyone do that to them
Shade: .....this is what I get for going to a fancy persons event...I am not allowed nice things.
Careil: you have ten seconds to run before you're on fire. *sets you on fire within 3 seconds*
Rowyn: *smacks you and grabs your collar so you look her in the eye* Do you have any idea how much CRAFT went into that? We are going to that person right NOW and APOLOGIZING for you disrespecting their craft! No, get your pants up and stop whining!
Mili: You *smack* mother *smack* fucker! *smack* do you *smack* even *smack* know *smack* how *smack* EXPENSIVE *SMACK* that was?!?!

Shade in conception: A strong, stoic fighter
Shade while in play: The so-done-with-this-shit mom friend trying to herd squirrels together and a lot more sociable and charismatic when not presenting as human. Disaster lesbian supreme.
Careil in conception: powerful and graceful mage from a forgotten race of elves
Careil in play: Narcissitic, dog fanatic enough to LITERALLY ADOPT A WOLF, performing every prideful mistake one can imagine a 19-21 year old making.
Mili in conception: a serious and fun ranger, think Aragorn but sassy
Mili in play: Sass master, too cool for regular school, kleptomaniac, that one weird goth chick in the corner hanging with her fellow goths and nerds and that one inexplicable religious kid
Rowan in concept: chaos incarnate. Super charming little gnome with NO sense of law but she thinks she has one. Playing "Devil went down to georgia" on harmonica.
Rowan in play: has yet to be seen...I'm a bit scared considering how the others went lol.

Easy ways to fluster
Shade: Pretty girls flirting with her. She is unused to positive feedback outside of her fighting prowess, the poor girl isn’t used to flirting like a normal woman.
Careil: Call her bluffs and flirt back with her HARD, but not too obvious ro pushy. Basically innuendos and obvious flirty jabs that don’t make her feel like she’ll get jumped. It both rivals her pride and she’s in over her head at this and doesn’t know how to respond. The other is to best her in anything, she hates losing.
Mili: Compliments of most kinds, especially about her singing voice. If you really want her flustered and cornered bring her family and potential future family into the mix. Asking things about her families opinions on her life choices, how she likes watching and caring for her baby brother, etc. Will both make her happy and a bit blushy, but the SECOND this gets pulled into her starting her own or carrying on the bloodline as a “proper” Baatezu descendant should, she gets flustery and at a loss for words. For bonus points, try to suggest hooking her up with people and she’ll stutter. Just don’t touch her without permission, or she’ll go right into angry mode.
Rowan: I have no fucking clue. As far as I know this gnome is shameless. She’s grumpy when people expect her to be a thief, but that’s it.

Muse Limitations
As much as I love my gals, and while they are each powerful in their own right, they all have some hard limitations.
Shade: She is as strong as a small giant, unless your muse has comparable or strength greater than a giants don’t expect to beat her in a fist fight, arm wrestling contest, or expect a swing of her ax to just nick you unless she misses. Same goes for her archery skills. That said, her calm and reserved nature can lead her to be a little slow on getting to places or make a more brash decision when pushed to a corner as quick-thinking isn’t her strong suit. She’s good against fellow brawlers, but more crafty muses can probably overtake her.
Careil: As smart and powerful as she thinks she is, Careil is honestly best when fighting in a group and where her inclination towards pyromania is best served. While she is quick witted and can find her way out of places in a pinch, she’s also hot-headed and likely to get herself into situations where she needs others to help her. She is not strong by any means and is fairly weak outside of her magic. If going against someone in a game of wits she’s likely to find her match in most earthly enemies, but once someone tries to get up close and personal she’s likely to be beat.
Mili: She’s an excellent strategist and melee weapons expert, making her a good match against most opponents. Due to her background in demon hunting and her skill in magic she’s the most well-rounded fighter amongst the four, and she can easily fight most demons or low-ranking devils, albeit with some difficulty but she find those fights fun and good ways to test her skills. Especially as she practices and expands her Bardic abilities. She CANNOT compare to overlords, Princes, Gods, or any such beings in fighting skill though, and while a formidable opponent on the surface realms a highly skilled knight or mage might be able to find a way to beat her as well.  While powerful, she’s not all-powerful and still has room to grow. Her skills lie in tracking, medical prowess, wit, charm, and in her sword skills. In a straight up fight without any of those she’s easy to beat, or if someone is smarter than her its easy to find holes in her strategies.
Rowan: She’s a support character through and through. This little lady is not built for fighting, but she can stab someone easily in a pinch. She works best providing support to others and is the most squishy of the four.

Shade and Careil changes
Both have had their ages bumped up, shade just a tad and Careil quite a bit to put them more in ages that I feel would make sense with their experiences. Shade is now in her early 30s and Careil in the equivalent of her early 20s rather than late teens. having her be the equivalent of 19 made her feel slightly too jail-baity for me even if she doesn’t wind up in romantic ships very often or easily. I’m not fond of playing minors, and since they’re overarching plot includes going to war I didn’t like the idea of a just-out-of their teens character going o war. While early 20s isn’t much better, it is a bit more mature but still lends to age being a factor of Careil’s natural self-centeredness in terms of wants, needs, and thinking process that she needs to grow out of.
I have also finally nailed down their sexualities. Careil is very much straight, while Shade is very much a lesbian. A disaster lesbian because she has very few actual social skills or knowledge of making normal friends let alone a girlfriend, but i have realized the main people I see her falling for are all women.

Random thought because my brain won't let me go to sleep until it's out in the world:
Mili isn't a bad cook because she doesnt know how to do it.
She's a bad cook because she does not cook for taste, she cooks for utility. Plus she has an...interesting palate that let's her eat just about anything. Including a whole cheese wedge when she's just munchy and needs to kill time (as has happened in one game because she didn't want to listen to the Paladin's prayer).
Her taste buds work, most of the time, but she has learned to stomach anything to survive and forgets other people don't just need something to be edible for them to eat it.
She's the type of person who will make her sick friends what they want, and she'll apply her vast knowledge of herbs to it. Which has on occasion resulted in an injured friend being gifted with a well-cooked steak seasoned in cinnimon for blood flow, lemon for general health, a tiny bit of willow bark powder and cayanne for a pain relief effect, tumeric for inflammation, ginger for nausea, and the tiniest touch of salt for taste because apparently people like that.
Intentions: good.
Exectution: passibly done, decent cooking.
End result: an abomination the Italian-American mun is dreading as she writes.
For reasons like this even her baby brother, who usually loves hanging with her, will begin calling to be taken to their mother when its meal time. He's only two years old and he's very tired of ginger, tumeric, garlic, and willow powder in everything. The youngest sibling has the best working taste buds.
The silver lining in this: Mili makes some bomb ass tea. At least with tea she understands her limits and that things like honey, milk, sugar, etc are used for taste or to make it more palatable. It also helps that heat and fire don't effect her so she can handle everything in record time.
Careil Nightwalker still cant cook and burns all food she touches.

Little Shadow and Little Sun
While Shade may not be the best with people, and not a huge fan of them, she adores her two cubs Targayn and Rhoxar. Its around them that her softer side shows up, as she will sometimes speak to them with a baby voice, kissing them on the nose, semi-rough play (to help keep their hunting instincts in tact, though coaching them not to use their claws unless told), and cuddling with them during the day or night . She even dries them off and has gone as far as to buy them their own rain gear so they can safely train or play in the rain without being bothered by it.
Their training consists of using key words for attack, disarm, defense, etc., and while it appears as difficult as average animal training, if not more rough due to the cubs wild natures, Shade still mothers them by giving them treats. Most of her money goes to caring for them. She refers to Targayn as her “Little Shadow” and Rhoxar as her “Little Sun.”
Careil claims the treatment is ridiculous, that wild animals shouldn’t be treated as such, but she’s guilty of doing the same with her Elrohir. Both women value their animal companions more than they do people, though Shade is still better at talking with common people.
