|| ashlyn banner & tyler hernandez
summary: ashlyn has dealt with worse than an argument with tyler, but when it sends her into headspace midway through a night in the phantom dimension it can become a problem
just lil disclaimer; don’t like, don’t read. I’m only saying this because it’s a smaller fandom and I’ve seen some pretty hostile comments about topics and I really don’t want to deal with any of that <3
warnings: little!ashlyn, caregiver!tyler, caregiver!ben, set after tyler gets out of the hospital/is healed, hurt/comfort, arguing, involuntary regressing, crying, non verbal!ash is mentioned, nicknames, tyler is practically ash’s older brother now

“We can’t just stay put forever!” Tyler groans and runs a hand through his hair, the school bus creaking under his pacing feet.
“I’m not saying we stay put forever but- we can’t just run out there either.” Ashlyn sighs, looking over at Taylor who’s stood closest to Tyler and has been trying to get him to calm down. It’s been almost a full month since Tyler healed from the tree incident and while he had been content on waiting to go past the graveyard walls for awhile because of Taylor’s worries, he’s not so keen on the idea anymore. They need to do something, get out of here, find out more about the phantoms, anything.
“Then we should come up with a plan like I’ve been saying.” It’s angry and hot, Tyler’s eyes pointed towards Ashlyn with all the fire in the world. She looks away in seconds and takes a deep breath to try and steady herself, they’ve been standing here arguing for at least an hour, Ashlyn has also been slowly slipping into her headspace throughout it all. It’s the worst possible timing in the world and she’s trying to push it away but isn’t sure it’s really working.
“The plan you’re proposing isn’t safe.” Running out and trying to capture a phantom to study it is the only thing Tyler’s suggested, nobody’s agreed with him, not even Aiden.
“Well it’s something! You’re the leader and you haven’t given a single idea.” The leader is said in almost a mockery, Ashlyn gets it. She’s the one that took on that label and she hasn’t done an amazing job at keeping everyone safe. No matter how many times Tyler reminds her that what happened wasn’t her fault, she can still feel the small amount of resentment he holds against her. She’s not mad about it or going to tell him to get over it or anything, but it hurts when she feels this vulnerable.
Since the trip to Savannah Ashlyn hasn’t been able to regress, it used to be something she did before bed, just to destress and sleep better, but now she’s got monsters to fight. Literally. She had thought going without regressing would be fine and it has been, til this week. There’s no reason she can pinpoint on why her little space has been begging to come out, she just knows it is, and that her eyes burn with tears because of it. The more emotional side of her always comes to the surface when she’s little.
“I- I think we should take time to come up with a more cohesive plan.” Her hands clench and unclench by her sides, voice an odd quietness that Taylor and Aiden definitely pick up on as they give her a questioning concerned look. She ignores it.
“To do what!? You’re supposed to be the one coming up with plans and taking charge, so what are we going to do?” Tyler steps closer to Ashlyn as her mouth opens only close. She’s definitely slipped now, she can feel it, all the emotions flooding into her system, the fear almost feels suffocating. There’s sounds of monsters all around her and she has Tyler standing in front of her looking extra pissed off, she doesn’t know what’s worse, the ear torture or the guilt that her friend is so upset because of her.
“Tyler-.” Taylor starts and Tyler turns to look at her but when he does Ashlyn stumbles backwards, hitting Ben’s chest with a flinch and high pitched noise she hadn’t meant to let out.
Her heart is beating two times faster than it should be and her body curls back into Ben as far as it can, tears building in her eyes and terror spiked in her chest. She didn’t mean to do that, she knows Tyler would never hurt her, she trusts him, really she hadn’t meant to—. The tears she was holding back start to slip down her cheeks and she quickly turns to hide her face in Ben’s chest.
“Ashlyn…” The sudden hand on her back only makes her jump again, hands clinging to Ben’s shirt with enough of a grip that she could tear the fabric in two.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t- I didn’t mean to-.” A choked off sob stops her from continuing the small pleas. There’s a shake to her body that only makes her more scared, she wants to go home, she wants to be safe, she doesn’t want to be standing in a school bus trembling and feeling herself slip further down into headspace. It’s only a matter of time until she goes completely non-verbal, something that’s never been an issue but definitely will be here.
“Ash, it’s okay, nobody’s upset.” Aiden speaks slow and soft, they make eye contact when she turns her head to the side against Ben’s chest. He gives his cousin a small nod before Ben hesitantly starts to wrap his arms around Ashlyn’s back to hold her in closer, tightening them when she doesn’t flinch away from the motion.
“Can you talk to us? Tell us what’s wrong, if- if it’s Tyler I swear he’d never do anything to hurt you.” Taylor comes to stand beside Aiden with her teeth chewing her bottom lip in nerves. Ashlyn can see Tyler behind her shoulder, he’s still pacing but it’s less angry and more worried, she feels horrible for making them all so concerned.
“No- no it’s not Ty’s fault, I’m sorry- I just- everything’s so much. I wanna go home, I wanna be safe, I don’t wanna be here.” A childlike tone drapes over Ashlyn’s words that makes more tears run down her cheeks. She doesn’t know where that nickname for Tyler came from, or why she’s being so honest and not trying to make her answers to sound more normal, less like she’s a child despite how she feels.
“Oh sweetheart…” Taylor says as if she can read through every thought Ashlyn has, can see just how vulnerable she’s being.
“Why don’t you and Ben sit down, okay? Just try and breathe, it’s okay.” The direction is followed easily and as soon as Ben’s sat with his back pressed to the wall and window of the bench closest to them Ashlyn finds herself curling against him again. It’s probably a bad idea, probably raises a million red flags for the others, but laying her head down on Ben’s chest to listen to his heartbeat is helping her feel calmer so she allows herself some grace. And she knows if Ben was uncomfortable or didn’t want her there he’d push her away.
“Want some water?” Logan appears over the seat in front of Ashlyn and Ben, his eyes flicking around their faces nervously, he obviously doesn’t know how to help or what to say. Ashlyn shakes her head and closes her eyes against Ben’s shirt, she’s exhausted and wants to go to sleep but knows she can’t, there’s monsters close by that could attack at any moment. She needs to stay alert, as much as she can while regressed anyways.
“Ashlyn are you sure you’re okay? I didn’t mean to scare you.” Tyler questions in the most hesitant voice Ashlyn’s ever heard him use. He’s usually so sure of himself, not afraid to speak his mind, not afraid to say things with his full chest, never this anxious about simply talking.
“M’okay.” Her face untucks just enough for her to see how Tyler’s stood in the aisle in front of where her and Ben are sitting. His eyes are big and hands fidgeting restlessly, Ashlyn reaches out for him before she can fully think it through, just wanting him to calm down, for things to not feel so stressful.
Tyler takes the offer after a short pause, sitting on the seat next to Ben when he shifts his knees up so there’s enough room. Ashlyn crawls her way off of Ben’s chest to Tyler’s, more careful with how she sits on him as she’s still petrified that he’ll be in pain because of the tree injuries, but she quickly relaxes when his hand starts to rub up and down her back. The sound of his heartbeat is a little faster than Ben’s was but it drowns out some of the monster sounds the same.
“Taylor used to sit with me like this when we were little, she’d make me carry her around anywhere she could too. I’m not sure I’ll be able to carry you as easily though carrot top.” A small smile spreads over Tyler’s face as he talks. Ashlyn sinks into every word, they feel safe and comfortable, like Tyler’s telling her it’s okay in some odd way. It’s okay that she’s upset, that she wants to go home, wants comfort, as if he’s assuring her that he’ll take care of her the same way he does his biological sister. As if they’re one and the same.

inaccurately assigning the sbg kids marina songs
Yes, I KNOW these are NOT the actual meanings of the music, nor are they even that accurate. But I am being self indulgent here and you can't stop me (:
Ashlyn Banner
Solitaire: A major part of her character is learning how to balance her introverted nature with opening up to others. I like how she isn't shamed for being a private person, though, just encouraged to give others a chance, so I'm giving her the song about that.
Oh No!: Ashlyn is a very confident person as far as we've seen (though there are still some insecurities she has to work through) who isn't going to change her entire self for some random kid. Oh No! fits that kinda in that Ashlyn has flaws, but she is aware of them and she decides what's worth trying to change.
Aiden Clark:
Too Afraid: Aiden. Buddy. CHILD. He is incredibly extroverted, outgoing, social, and tends to take up the spotlight wherever he goes. This isn't a bad thing in its own light, however we've seen that it's largely become a coping mechanism for him. This kid's mind is or at the very least WAS in a very dark place before, and it's being repressed largely (at least, that's what it seems like.)
Primadonna: Like the exact same thing as above. Takes up the spotlight because the minute you stop off the stage, what's left?
Ben Clark:
I Am Not a Robot: Ben is a very stoic-seeming character. We've gotten to know him and he's a gentle, kind-hearted, nervous, and sweet person, albeit one with astoundingly destructive and angry tendencies. A bit part of his character, to me, has been seeing him balance not allowing his rage to run away with him but also not bottling up until it overflows. He is NOT a robot.
Valley of The Dolls: Yeah this song's about a book I've never read so uhhhhh ANYWAYS. Ben's past self was ANGRY. He was hurt and upset. No matter how many people he fought, or how much it hurt, he couldn't feel better, if anything at all. There was an emptiness he couldn't heal. Maybe it's still there. But he's healing.
Logan Fields:
Karma: I think this song could fit his relationship with his bully (Baron or Barron? Can't remember how to spell it), especially in the arcade fight scene (LOVED IT). Baron has been getting away with horrific acts simply because nobody knew, but now that it's come to light, now that Logan is stronger, now that he has people in his corner, karma's coming.
The Family Jewels: I'm concerned about Logan's home life, honestly. We don't know (as far as I'm aware) why he lives with his grandparents. Did something happen to his parents? Is he an orphan? Is he not with them for another reason? Also, what's going on with his grandparents? Is it because they're florists that they have access to painkillers and sedative type drugs, or another reason?
Taylor Hernández:
Orange Trees: I don't even know. I just really like the song. And I really like Taylor. And i think she would vibe to it. Taylor has a really fun personality and I think this fits her.
Can't Pin Me Down: On a more serious note, oftentimes Taylor (by both characters and the fandom, myself included) is unfortunately reduced to "aww happygolucky bestgirl!" Especially after Tyler's tragedy, we've gotten to see a new side of her: fierce loyalty and pure anger that stems from her kindness. She's going off the rails and I LOVE this for her, but I can only hope she doesn't lash at out the wrong people.
Tyler Hernández:
Are You Satisfied?: Giving him one of my ALL TIME favorite songs! Since the death of their father, Tyler has been caring for both his mother and sister and keeping the household afloat effectively. Through this, my dude doesn't seem to know what it means to take a break. He needs one.
Highly Emotional People: Furthermore on that note, I can see Taylor saying these lyrics to her twin brother. Tyler has gotten to used to being the caregiver at such a young age he doesn't seem sure how to be cared FOR. My dude is repressing and lashing out and everything in a very unhealthy way. If anything good comes out of the tree kebab, it's forcing him to accept outside help and let others take on some burdens. We're highly emotional people, and everyone deserves to show that.
Anyways I didn't expect this to take so long to type :^

Characters with Autism masterlist
n this masterlist you’ll find comic/movie/videogame/tv show characters that have Autism (not the actor but only the character they play). Like/Reblog if you thought it was useful.
Comics
Hikaru Azuma(With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child) [x] Sachiko and Masato's firstborn, and the main character of the series. His autism showed up one and a half years after his birth.  Hikaru hated to be picked up and held as a baby and did not grow in step with children his age, leading Sachiko to seek a doctor for him.  He always has been wearing diapers for a long time. He even stays in his stroller even when he's too old for it.  Hikaru dislikes loud and painful noises such as crowds, Buddhist chanting, and babies crying. He likes trains and memorizes many of them, including ones no longer running. Like many autistic people, when something is changed in his routine without any warning, such as a show switching times or being canceled, it upsets him. Because the attendants at Arkham did not know how to deal with autism, they would end up restraining him to the bed as he struggled and screamed whenever they tried putting him to bed. In this version, young Black Manta was also fascinated when he saw Aquaman on television.
Johnny Do(Psi-Force)[x] Johnny Do is highly autistic and was treated as a virtual animal in a Russian project investigating paranormals.  Boyd was able to forge a connection with him and became his caregiver. Gabrielle had a short relationship to Kip Denton. He was not aware of her Aspergers and did not understand her absurd behaviour. 'Pro-Black American' Logic Succinctly Explained By Social Commentator Mr. David Carrollhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbm7xE99jVI/Above excerpted from David Carroll YouTube broadcast titled "Afro-American !!!!! holes pt2 (the blueprint)" published on Jan 27, 2018.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-TZ-zEgONQ/___Question! Respectfully, why are many of my reasonably intelligent American and foreign born neighbors FAILING TO RECOGNIZE that most all the folks crying, whining and carrying on about RACISM impeding the Quality of Life for black or African American citizens......are the SAME segregationist-minded "Pro-Black and Conscious Black Community" American citizens choosing to HATEFULLY demean and denigrate as C^^ns, "Sell-outs" and "Uncle Toms", successful, accomplished American citizens choosing to peacefully pursue THEIR OWN individually unique vision for L, L, (Love) & Happiness?I am referring to the ever-expanding population of successful Americans like Justice Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, Charles Payne, Crystal Wright, Dr. Ben Carson, Harris Faulkner, Stephen A. Smith, Walter Edward Williams, Senator Tim Scott, (Sheriff) David Clarke, or Stacey Dash, to name a FEW of our peaceful, accomplished American neighbors illogically targeted for HATE, OPPRESSION and discrimination by a significant population of our illogically angry "Pro-Black and Conscious Black Community" American neighbors wishing to promote an illogical segregationist agenda.Sadly, there is no doubt in my mind the illogical thinking, hate-embracing, otherwise freedom-loving American citizens loudly whining about Racism or the concept of 'white supremacy' impeding black or African American citizens from achieving success and experiencing equality......are the very same "Pro-Black Americans" WILLFULLY IGNORING SYSTEMIC *MATERNAL CHILD CARE* & MENTAL HEALTH issues responsible for virtually all of President Barack “My Brother’s Keeper” Obama and Mrs. Michelle "Girl Power" Obama urban-TRUTH-teller friends and WH guests composing VIOLENCE riddled American music art HATEFULLY demeaning black or African American girls and women as less than human creatures undeserving of being treated with basic human respect. "Who Is Really A C^oon In The Black Community? (The Brother Pill Podcast) Oshay Vlogcast Channel" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Bh3zQHydrQ/ ___ Am I the only American hoping more and more of my American, as well as foreign born neighbors RECOGNIZE and embrace the indisputable fact our ever-evolving, imperfect, often self-destructive human species will continue evolving, learning day by day about our human condition and physical world, slowly shedding our human ignorance and adapting as we continue plodding along trying to improve the Quality of Life for all human beings! ___ I write about and share evidence of America’s MUCH IGNORED, oppressive, potentially life scarring black or African American *MATERNAL CHILD CARE* #T_H_U_G_L_I_F_E NATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS that I, as well as a growing number of my reasonably responsible, caring, concerned American and foreign born neighbors believe is impeding our black or American neighbors of African descent from experiencing the equality and respect all peaceful, reasonably responsible Americans are entitled to enjoy. "The Hate U Give Little Infants Fvvks *EVERYONE"* ~Tupac Shakur "We need more people who care; you know what I'm saying? We need more women, mothers, fathers, we need more of that..." ~Tupac Shakur Unfortunately, before he developed the confidence to properly promote his #THUGLIFE Child Abuse *AWARENESS* concept, Tupac was brutally murdered by OTHER emotionally or mentally ill victims (*May 18, 2015 - Rise in Suic!de by Black Children Surprises Researchers - The New York Times*) of America's Culture of African American Child Abuse, Neglect and Emotional Maltreatment evolving from America's multi-generational, ignorant, once legal Culture of Racism. Much like Tupac I’m sorry to pick on moms, though since ancient times they are the primary caregivers we look to keep our young minds feeling SAFE, protected, cared for and loved right from our start. Peace. ___

It is important to note that every country’s youth differs in internet usage, as was pointed out by (...), and therefore to help New Zealand youth, we need to study New Zealand youth.
After talking to the head researcher of Netsafe,
The end aim of this research project is to find out the psychological reasons why

Tumblr media
Mary "Polly" Magdalene Everhardt Hayes, age 95, of Wilkesboro, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.  Leona  Blevins,  95
Tumblr media
Mrs. Leona Mae Brown Walsh Blevins, age 95 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, July 7th, 2017 at Wilkes Senior Village.
A celebration of her life was July 10th,  at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Cardwell and Rev. Charles Edwards officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Blevins was born January 4, 1922 in Wilkes County to Ray Vaughn and Maude Ann Prevette Brown.
While our nation celebrated its independence a few days ago, it took Leona Brown Walsh Blevins a few days longer to do the same. Nonetheless, her grand finale was just as liberating.
She was a firecracker herself to all that knew her, with a spark of independence and honesty that could not be dimmed.
Most of her life was spent as a dedicated homemaker where her kitchen soon became the favorite spot of everyone to gather. Seated around a table with her famous mashed potatoes, creamed corn and mouth-watering biscuits, 5 star restaurants paled in comparison.
Her spark continued to burn steadily for 95 1/2 years. Along the way she lost many people that she loved including her parents, her husband, Edward Walsh, and later husband, Luther Blevins. Her list of lost loves also included three sisters, four brothers, an infant son, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. The welcoming committee in Heaven was great.
Surviving are her two sons, William Wade Walsh, and wife Ruby, of North Wilkesboro, and Gary Michael Walsh, and wife Vickie, of Wilkesboro. Also, three grandchildren, Sherri Tribble and husband Tim, of North Wilkesboro; Carrie Walsh and fiance' Greg Roten, of Wilkesboro; and Kelley Barker and husband Trent, of Traphill: three special Great-grandchildren, Cameron, Morgan, and Madison; one brother, Edward Eugene Brown and wife Betty, of North Wilkesboro and two special nieces, Debra Hester and Ann Osborne.
While independence means many things to many people, Leona's Independence Day freed her from a tired body and a foggy brain. As she took her last breath here on this Earth, she opened her eyes in Heaven in the presence of the source of all freedoms-freedom from the chains of sin, freedom from pain, and freedom from sadness. Only in His presence are we truly free and it is there that she rejoices today.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fishing Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 925 Old 60 Wilkesboro, NC 28697.

Hi, I really liked reading your agere fics 💖 I wanted to say I really appreciate you writing them!
I was wondering if you could possibly do an sbg agere where Aiden regresses? With Ash as his caretaker? Or swapped, they're just both my favourites and I really relate to them so it would just be lovely ✨️ no pressure tho!

Ashlyn hadn’t meant to regress, truly she was trying to stay big until the group left their planned night of studying at her house as their schoolwork has been severely disrupted due to the phantom dimension- but her plan to stay big is being seriously disrupted right now.
Aiden has an arm around her shoulders and a hand rubbing up and down her arm, something she’d normally scowl at and push away from, but something her little side sinks right into. It’s getting later, around ten pm, the usual time she allows herself to slip before the inevitable monster fighting montage she’s thrown into every night begins. And while that’s never been a problem because Ashlyn has gotten quite good at monitoring the time so she knows she’ll be big when in the phantom dimension, it’s certainly a problem right now.
Damn Aiden and his never ending attempts at trying to make Ashlyn engage in physical contact, and damn her headspace for making her feel so comforted by it.
“Ash?” Aiden’s voice is cheery like always as he tugs her closer towards his chest, not a protest in sight.
“Mm?” The conversation the group has been having has been going straight over Ashlyn’s head so she hopes he’s not about to ask her something related to it.
“Taylor, Tyler and Logan went home. Me and Ben are gonna crash here cause your parents don’t want us home alone.” Oh, they did go home, and Aiden and Ashlyn are the only ones left in the room.
“Where’d Ben go?” Possibly to walk Taylor outside as he’s been doing lately.
“Downstairs with your mom, he’s getting snacks.” She hums and lets the notebook barely held in her hand slide to the floor before bringing an arm around Aiden’s chest without a second thought about it.
“Hey, are you okay?” A sudden worry drapes over Aiden’s words, his brows furrowing and eyes locking with Ashlyn’s.
“Tired.” It’s not the answer Aiden was looking for but he takes it and nods.
“We can move to your bed if you want. You might wanna change first.” The jeans she’s wearing are uncomfortable now and even the shirt she has on is a bit tight around her neck- but trying to choose a suitable outfit right now sounds difficult for how small she can feel herself slipping.
“Can you grab me somethin’ to change into?” She curses the lisp that comes out of her mouth but hopes Aiden just writes it off as her exhaustion.
“Uhh sure..” He gives her another concerned glance before standing and starting to rummage around her dresser.
Ashlyn tries to seem productive waiting for Aiden, tidying up the open math books and pens scattered across her floor, shoving it all into a pile that’s still messy but at least out of the way. The motions are clumsy and she’s glad Aiden isn’t turned around to see just how badly she’s struggling with her motor skills right now.
“This good?” A loose army green t-shirt and pair of jogger sweatpants get held up and Ashlyn nods, it’s better than she would’ve done since she knows those sweatpants were shoved to the back of the drawer.
“I’ll let you change.” Before Aiden can walk out of Ashlyn’s room, she catches his wrist from where she’s still on the floor, silently asking him for help which he quickly complies in. There’s an unsteadiness to her stance once she’s upright, barely tumbling straight back down to the floor if it wasn’t for Aiden catching her and guiding her to sit on the edge of her bed.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” The worry is undeniable now.
“I- I feel kinda little.” That’s either going to be enough for Aiden to understand what’s going on or it’ll leave him more confused, she’s praying for the former.
“I didn’t know you regressed.” Oh thank god.
“I don’t like to talk about it. It’s vulnerable and I don’t do that…” The word vulnerable is too mumbled and squished together for it to sound anything like how Ashlyn’s words usually do but Aiden understands it.
“We don’t have to talk about it, but I’m not gonna leave you alone right now.” Probably for the better if she’s honest with herself.
“Can you help me get changed?” A small smile pulls on Aiden’s lips at the childish tone in Ashlyn’s voice, he nods and picks up the stack of clothes he just discarded.
It takes no time at all to switch her shirt over to the more baggy t-shirt but trying to get the tight jeans she has on off and then the joggers on is a bit of a struggle. Thankfully for Aiden, Ashlyn spends the entire time giggling at Aiden kneeling by her bed struggling to yank the jeans off. It’s obvious she’s slipped younger and it’s absolutely adorable in Aiden’s humble opinion.
“All set Ash.” He almost broke a sweat doing that.
“What else do you need? Brush your teeth? Water?” The redhead ponders the questions before shaking her head but pointing over to her closed closet.
“Gotta get Bunny from the closet!” She exclaims and swings her feet off the side of her bed, ready to jump down but quickly stopped by Aiden’s hands on her shoulders- the last thing he wants is for her to end up falling and hurting herself, she was already pretty unstable earlier and now she’s farther into headspace he can only imagine how hard of a time she’d have now.
“Where is he? I’ll grab him.”
“She! Bunny’s a she, she’s on the top shelf.” A pout appears on Ashlyn’s face at the wrong pronoun use of her favorite toy, Aiden nearly chuckles at how cute it is but refrains as he can guess she wouldn’t like that very much.
Sure enough, there’s a baby pink stuffed rabbit on the top shelf of Ashlyn’s closet, thrown atop a bin of old ballet costumes from what he can tell, trying to be hidden. It’s an older plush with worn features and droopy ears that have definitely seen better days as the fur is all matted down and even the ribbon on its neck is frayed at the edges. Maybe he can find the same one online somewhere, just for a backup as he doubts she’ll ever get rid of this one with how long she’s already had it.
“Here you go.” A beaming smile gets sent Aiden’s way- this is the most Aiden’s ever seen Ashlyn smile in one day, a real smile, big and stress free. It tugs on his heartstrings.
“Anything else?”
“Can you tell me a story?” There are no kid books in sight and with the way Ashlyn’s looking at Aiden, he’s guessing she wants to hear him make one up.
“Lay back first.” Ashlyn scrambles back on the bed to slip under her blanket and tug Bunny up to her chest with expecting eyes, Aiden moves to flip the main light off before coming to join her in the bed.
The second Aiden’s comfortably leaned against the headboard Ashlyn curls into his side again, head on his chest and arm around his middle, Bunny still pressed against her front. She blinks tiredly at him and he hesitantly runs a hand over her back, still worried he’ll cross a line and she’ll jump away from his touch like she usually does.
“Once upon a time there was a ballerina…” He starts, coming up with a random plot line in his head, watching contently how Ashlyn’s eyes flutter closed within a couple minutes of the story starting. They’ll talk about this more later on, for now Aiden tugs Ashlyn closer and tries to savor this moment as he knows they’ll be in a very different situation come a few hours.
