Tudo novo, de novo

Nas últimas semanas, descobri que perdi o blog que alimentava desde a adolescência. Na verdade, não perdi, ele ainda está lá – pomposo e me encarando, enquanto me impede de publicar novos posts ou editar antigos sem qualquer justificativa. Depois de muito tentar e lamentar, aceitei que era o jeito da vida me dizer que eu precisava seguir em frente (de novo). Lembrei, então, dessa plataforma que também me acompanhou desde os 14 anos e foi palco dos meus primeiros amores, episódios depressivos, obsessões, amizades virtuais e tantos outros grandes marcos. Encontrei um deles na aba de "rascunhos": o texto de despedida do meu Ensino Médio, quase uma década depois. Eu não estou hoje no lugar em que gostaria de estar em determinadas áreas da minha vida, mas posso dizer pra minha versão de 18 anos que vivemos de escrever – é bem diferente do que esperávamos, mas ainda encontramos magia nisso –, alguns poucos amigos que permaneceram e outros incríveis que chegaram há pouco tempo, mas que parecem de outras vidas, e muita história para contar. Muita mesmo. Algumas que eu preferia não ter no repertório, outras que faço questão de relembrar sempre que possível. Muita coisa que me possibilitou ser a versão de hoje, que inevitavelmente vai ter muito a aprender com a versão do futuro também. De qualquer forma, seja no diário feito de folhas do cardeno de Artes que ganhamos na escola, seja em um blog ou num perfil no Instagram, fico feliz de ainda conseguir me comunicar pela escrita, algo que parece tão intuitivo para mim que quase esqueço não ser a regra. Então, aqui vou eu, começando de novo (de novo). É oficialmente o início de mais um inferno astral, que me lembra do novo fim de ciclo que se aproxima, com uma sensação mais leve de estar chegando em algum lugar sem estar apenas tentando sobreviver. A nova primavera parece prometer um aroma mais doce.

An only child, Davina was spoiled from a young age. All she had to do was stick out her lower lip or let the tears well up in her eyes, and her parents were bending to her every whim. Unfortunately, spoiled children can grow up to be brats if not kept in check, and Davina was never kept in check.

As she grew older, Davina continued to make sure she got her way, steamrolling over anyone that stood in her way, and keeping enablers close. It was her way or the highway, and her pretty face and sweet demeanor often won others over - it was the other side no one wanted to deal with. When told no, or having something taken away from her she wanted, she would stop at nothing to ruin your life.

She skated by in high school, batting her eyes to get others to do her homework for her, not planning on continuing her education past high school graduation, the only idea she had for a job was something where she could do very little and look pretty - and that's where DJing at the club came in. She loved the atmosphere, knew what people wanted to dance to, and it paid well.

In the prime of her life, Davina is more shrewd than ever, her friends in on more than one life ruining scheme. She likes to act like she's completely untouchable and unbothered, finding a different boy to entertain her every few weeks, not caring who's hearts she breaks or who's boyfriend she falls into bed with; but there's a few cracks in her armor when it comes to one Aaron Cardeno, but if he noticed, he didn't show it, and she'd rather die than let anyone know she's got any kind of vulnerability.

In the book A Shot At Forgiveness by Cardeno C, there's a line that slays me every single time I read it or think of it.

"I've wanted you since the first moment I realized what it meant to want."

The character of Isaac says that to Rafi in the story. A story about Isaac having been a bully toward Rafi in school, but, years later, Isaac comes to Rafi seeking forgiveness & a happily ever after.

For some reason, tonight, it's hitting me hard how that's the vibe from Chiron in Moonlight. He was deemed gay before he ever even knew the meaning of the word then he wanted Kevin before he even knew what it meant to want anyone. And he carried that. All alone. For years.

So when he tells Kevin, "You the only man that's ever touched me. You're the only one. I haven't really touched anyone since." I'm combining that in my head with "I've wanted you since the first moment I realized what it meant to want" & breaking my own damned heart with all the feels from that kind of longing.
