Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan, is located just a few miles West of Detroit Metropolitan Airport. While the latter serves the classic passenger airlines, Willow Run is, apart from some general aviation traffic, a dedicated cargo airport. For decades, it's core business was to serve the US automotive industry and its frequent need to ship spares and parts overnight.

In the glory days of the US carbuilders, several air freight carriers specialised to this need, basing their fleets of cargo aircraft at Willow Run and offering a network of scheduled cargo flights radiating from there. One such carrier - perhaps the best known of them - was Zantop International. In the late 1980s, it still employed a fleet of over 50 freighters: 25 Lockheed L-188 Electras and 14 Convair 580/640 turboprops accounted for the largest part of the fleet. They were joined by around eight to ten DC-8F-50/DC-8-62F jets that were used both for domestic cargo and international military transport flights. The last two or three of the once 16 aircraft strong fleet of Douglas DC-6 freighters were still kept serviceable, too, serving as stand-by aircraft in case of sudden, unforeseen demand.

TMNT: The Last Ronin Video Game Is In Development

A video game based on the hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles graphic novel The Last Ronin is in the works, Polygon reports.

The news comes from Polygon's interview with Doug Rosen, senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global. According to Rosen, The Last Ronin video game will be a single-player action role-playing title in the vein of the Norse-themed God of War series. Like the story it adapts, the game will feature a mature tone. The game’s developer has not been named, and the project is years away from release. 

The Last Ronin was published in 2020 as a five-issue mini-series by IDW. It takes place in a dark futuristic New York, where three of the four turtles have been killed. The surviving turtle, whose identity is revealed at the end of the first issue (we won’t spoil it), dons a black mask and seeks revenge by fighting crime using both his and the weapons of his fallen brothers.

The Lego Racing Game Looks Like A Chaotic Open-World Mario Kart

Lego 2K Drive is an open-world carbuilding game that’s all about making your own vehicles out of the titular blocks and causing general havoc driving them around a breakable block-made world. At a glance, it might look like a simple Lego racing game, but the first trailer makes the game look like a hodgepodge of Mario Kart, Burnout, and the Forza Horizon series.

Epic unveils Unreal Engine advancements, Hellblade tech demo, ability to publish directly into Fortnite

Epic Games has held its latest State of Unreal presentation, during which it demoed new features for Unreal Engine 5.2, fresh peeks at Unreal Engine games such as NCSoft's Project M and Ninja Theory's Hellblade sequel, plus a live demo of Fortnite's brand new UE5-powered creative mode.

Today's presentation began with a look at new procedural generation technology being baked into UE 5.2, which will allow developers to build a small section of an open-world environment, from which Unreal Engine can then build out a much larger area at scale. A demo video showed how components can be switched out on the fly, with elements such as a bridge adapting automatically to the environment around.

Counter-Strike 2 Is Real And It's Out This Summer

Valve has revealed Counter-Strike 2 and it will be released this summer. 

An official release date was not revealed, but Valve says Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to anyone who owns Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Plus, if you do own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you can jump into a limited test for Counter-Strike 2 starting today. During this testing period, Valve says it will "be evaluating a subset of features to shake out any issues before the worldwide release." 

The company also says, "Counter-Strike 2 is the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history, ensuring new features and updates for years to come."
