Do I Have To Service My Car From The Dealership?
You have the option to choose whichever place you want to service you and by whom. It is also required to offer at least a two-year ultimate mileage warranty on all their new cars and it doesn’t matter if the car ownership is changed. In the UK the dealership cannot force car owner to have their car serviced by their official dealership network.

The Best EV Chargers For Home Use
There are a number of smart home chargers on the Australian market. Here are my top picks based on installer experience and product reliability.
Goodwe’s HCA series launched in 2022 and is compatible with all EV brands. It allows for smart solar charging and is available in single-phase (7 kW) and threephase (12/22 kW). It also comes with an extended warranty backed by an office in Australia.
Level 2
Most ev chargers come with a standard 10 Amp Type 2 plug for AC charging at home and at public stations. There are also adaptors available to enable your EV to charge with other types of plugs.
Most people will charge their EV at Level 1 public chargers, usually located in shopping centres and restaurants. These can add a full charge overnight for most small to medium battery EVs but will not be fast enough for the average daily commute or road trip.
Installing a Level 2 charger at home is the best long-term solution to increase your EV range and save money on fuel. However, it will cost between $1,000 and $3,000 including installation by a licensed electrician. Look for a charger that features a cable management system that enables you to coil and hang the cables off the connector, out of the way when parking the car. This will keep them away from the elements and help prevent damage.
Level 3
Slow AC charging using a standard 240-volt Australian household outlet can replenish most EVs’ driving range overnight. It’s cheaper than fast DC charging and generates less heat, which is better for battery longevity. This is the most common option for charging at home and can also be used as a backup in the event of long commutes.
A single-phase 7kW EV charger at home can guarantee enough range to get most people to work and back again the next day. Combined with solar power, this can reduce charging costs even further.
Choosing a charger that’s designed for Australia’s climate is important. Having the same provider for both the charger and installation can simplify warranty claims if anything goes wrong. The UK-made Zappi V2 charger from Myenergi and EVSwitch is a great choice. It comes with a 7kW home charger and 5m Type 2 cable, features three modes for maximum efficiency and uses renewable energy whenever possible. It also has an easy-to-use free EV Charging app for remote management, monitoring and scheduling.
Combo
Electric Vehicles (EV) are here to stay and are transforming the way we travel across Australia. However, the EV revolution raises many questions about charging times, driving ranges, and how to find public chargers across the country.
For a stress-free trip, an EV owner needs to ensure that their home charger can keep up with charging demands. Look for a home EV charger with Wi-Fi connectivity, which makes it easy to monitor usage and receive notifications. A good EV charger will also feature enhanced load balancing, which adjusts the power distribution to prevent circuit overload.
When shopping for a home charger, look for one that is compatible with your electricity tariff, solar system, and battery. The Wattpilot EV Charger costs about $1,800before installation and integrates seamlessly with Fronius inverters. It is available as both a hardwired and portable option and features fast charging. The best ev chargers Australia are rated for reliability and come with a 5-year warranty.
Solar
We've rated the best chargers available for home use based on their features, reliability and pricing. Level 2 charging at home is more expensive but offers much faster charging and the ability to co-ordinate with your solar system and home battery to maximise savings. A garage or off-street parking is required to install a level 2 charger at your house.
ABB’s EV chargers are available in 7kW single phase and 22kW three-phase for home and business use. They can be tethered or untethered and come with an EV cable. ABB's EV chargers can be supplied and installed by your Enphase Energy microinverter installer as part of a new solar system or retrofitted to existing systems.
SMA offer an EV charger that integrates with their microinverters (both older and newer models). This smart feature monitors how much excess solar you're exporting and diverts the surplus to your car battery to charge your vehicle using the cheapest electricity in Australia: behind-the-meter Australian solar.

What to Look For in a Used Car Dealership
Tumblr media
When considering purchasing used cars in Yorkshire from a dealership, it is crucial to be discerning to ensure you get a good deal and a reliable vehicle. Here are some key things to look for in premium used cars:
Reputation and Reviews
Online Reviews: Check websites like Google, Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for customer feedback. Look for consistent positive reviews and how the dealership responds to negative feedback.
Word of Mouth: Ask friends, family, or coworkers for recommendations or experiences with local dealerships.
Inventory Quality
Selection: A good dealership should offer a wide range of vehicles, varying in make, model, year, and price, and include luxury cars in UK.
Vehicle History: Ensure the performance car sales dealership provides vehicle history reports (e.g., CARFAX). These reports show past accidents, ownership history, and any title issues.
Condition: Inspect the vehicles for signs of wear, rust, or damage. Check for any discrepancies between the online description and the actual vehicle.
Transparency and Honesty
Pricing: The dealership should offer clear, upfront pricing with no hidden fees. Be wary of deals that seem too good to be true.
Sales Practices: A reputable dealership won’t pressure you into a quick decision or upsell unnecessary add-ons. They should allow you to take your time and even let you take the car for a pre-purchase inspection.
Certifications and Warranties
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO): Consider dealerships that offer CPO vehicles. These cars are typically newer, have undergone rigorous inspections, and come with extended warranties.
Warranties: Check what kind of warranty is offered on the vehicles. Even used cars should come with some form of warranty, whether it’s a dealership-specific one or remaining manufacturer coverage.
Professionalism and Customer Service
Staff: The sales staff should be knowledgeable, courteous, and willing to answer all your questions.
Facilities: The dealership should be clean, well-maintained, and organised. A chaotic or dirty environment could indicate a lack of professionalism.
After-Sales Service
Maintenance Services: Some dealerships offer ongoing maintenance services, which can be a plus.
Return Policy: Understand the dealership’s return policy, if any, in case you encounter issues shortly after purchase.
Financing Options
In-House Financing: Some dealerships offer financing options directly. Compare their rates with banks or credit unions to ensure you get the best deal.
Transparency: Be sure to get all financing terms in writing, with clear details about interest rates, loan terms, and total cost.
Test Drive and Inspection
Test Drive: Always take the vehicle for a test drive, checking for any unusual noises, handling issues, or comfort concerns.
Pre-Purchase Inspection: If possible, have a trusted mechanic inspect the car before you finalise the purchase.
By paying attention to these factors, you can increase your chances of finding a trustworthy dealership and a reliable used car that meets your needs.

Extended Warranties: Protect your car for longer with extended coverage options.
Some dealerships even offer service plans that let you spread the cost of regular maintenance.
6. Customer Reviews and Reputation
Before visiting a Suzuki dealership, it’s worth checking customer reviews online. Websites like Trustpilot, Google Reviews, or dedicated car forums can give you insight into the dealership's reputation. Look for dealerships with high ratings for customer service, transparency, and vehicle quality.
7. Special Offers and Events

Tumblr media
The discussion surrounding the choice between new and used vehicles remains a prevalent topic among consumers when considering a vehicle purchase. This is especially advantageous for novice drivers or individuals with limited financial resources. In Llandudno, where the cost of living can be high, saving on car insurance can make a significant difference in your overall expenses.
3. Certified Pre-Owned Programs
Many people hesitate to buy used cars due to concerns about reliability and potential maintenance issues. However, the availability of certified pre-owned (CPO) programs has alleviated many of these worries. CPO vehicles undergo rigorous inspections and often come with extended warranties, giving buyers peace of mind. In Llandudno, many dealerships offer CPO programs, ensuring that you can purchase a used car with confidence.
4. A Wide Selection of Vehicles
The used car market in Llandudno offers a diverse selection of vehicles, from compact cars to SUVs, and everything in between. These costs are often based on the car's value, which means that a used car with a lower market value will generally incur lower fees. This is an added financial benefit that can make owning a car more affordable in the long run.
6. Environmental Benefits
Buying a used car in Llandudno isn’t just good for your wallet; it’s also good for the environment. The manufacturing of new vehicles requires substantial resources and energy, leading to environmental harm. By choosing to buy a used car, you’re reducing the demand for new vehicles and helping to minimize your carbon footprint. This eco-friendly choice aligns with the growing trend towards sustainability in the UK and beyond.
7. Avoiding Hidden Fees
When buying a new car, you’re often faced with a host of hidden fees, including shipping charges, dealer preparation fees, and advertising fees. These costs can add up quickly, making the final price of the new car significantly higher than the sticker price. In contrast, when you buy a used car in Llandudno, these fees are typically much lower, if they exist at all. This transparency in pricing makes it easier to stick to your budget and avoid unpleasant surprises.
8. Availability of Vehicle History Reports
Thanks to the widespread availability of vehicle history reports, buying used cars in Llandudno has never been safer. By choosing a used car, you may be able to afford a higher-end model or a vehicle with more features than you could if you were buying a new one. For instance, you might be able to get a luxury car or a vehicle with advanced technology and safety features for the same price as a new, lower-end model. This strong community support ensures that you’re purchasing a business that values its customers and stands behind the vehicles it sells.
11. Easier Financing Options
Financing a used car can often be easier and more flexible than financing a new one. Lenders recognise the lower risk associated with used cars, which can result in more favourable loan terms. Additionally, many used car dealerships in Llandudno offer in-house financing options, making it easier for buyers with varying credit histories to secure a loan. This accessibility to financing makes owning a car more attainable for many people in the area.
12. No Need to Worry About Initial Depreciation
As mentioned earlier, new cars lose a significant amount of their value as soon as they’re driven off the lot. By choosing a used car, you avoid this steep initial depreciation, which means your car will retain its value better over time. This can be particularly beneficial if you plan to sell or trade in the car in the future. In Llandudno, where vehicle ownership is often seen as an investment, buying used allows you to maximize your return on that investment.
Conclusion: Drive Smart with Used Cars in Llandudno
In conclusion, the benefits of choosing used cars in Llandudno are clear. From significant cost savings to a wide selection of vehicles, lower insurance premiums, and environmental benefits, there are many reasons why buying used is a smart choice. Whether you’re a first-time car buyer or looking to upgrade your current vehicle, the used car market in Llandudno offers something for everyone. By choosing a used car, you’re not only making a financially sound decision but also supporting the local economy and contributing to a more sustainable future. So, why not drive smart and consider a used car for your next vehicle purchase in Llandudno?

A car warranty is necessary for several reasons, including financial stability and peace of mind for vehicle owners. Here are a few essential points emphasising the significance of automotive warranties:

3. Quality Assurance: Manufacturers provide quality assurance in the form of warranties. An extended warranty period frequently demonstrates the manufacturer's confidence in the vehicle's durability and general performance.
4. Extended Coverage Options: Some warranties can be extended beyond the usual coverage duration, providing additional protection for a longer length of time. Extended warranties are useful for people who expect to retain their automobiles for an extended period or for those who want extra security.
5. Comprehensive coverage: Depending on the kind of warranty, it may cover a variety of vehicle components and systems, such as the engine, gearbox, electrical systems, and others. This extensive coverage guarantees that a wide range of possible difficulties are handled.
Finally, a vehicle warranty acts as a safety net for car owners, protecting them from unforeseen financial constraints and contributing to a less stressful ownership experience. It's never too late to consider a car warranty, and certain providers may provide discounts, such as Warranty Direct's continuous offer of a minimum 10% discount on auto warranties. Websites dedicated to car sales allow you to filter search results by make, model, price, and location, making it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for. We need to extend "If you don't know what it's for it's not for you" to be about disability benefits.
"If you don't know why it's a disability related cost, it's because you're not disabled and you don't need to worry about it".
I am seeing some horrific - dismissive and aggressively vile - comments on people's videos as they talk about the tories proposals to changing disability benefits - hopefully nixed now there's going to be a general election.
"We ALL need to use laundry detergent, it's not a disability cost"
"New clothes are not a disability cost"
"You're wasting MY taxes on YOUR entertainment. Get a fucking job".
when you're disabled and chronically ill basically everything becomes a disability related cost. You have no other income. Do people really want disabled people to just stare at the walls wearing dirty clothes? I mean, probably yes, but let's pretend there's decent people out there too.
The NHS is cutting down on a lot of things. If you've not seen the new bowl and bladder protocols, then you don't get to say how someone should manage their incontinence issues with NHS prescriptions.
There might be cheaper things out there, but let's think of good old Vimes and his Boots Theory. We know that cheaper things are often poorer quality. That usually means they don't work as well or last as long. You want good quality things, that usually means a higher outlay costs to last longer. Instead of buying something £30 every year and suffering through ordering related delays, you spend £120 in one go, suffer through ordering related delays once every five to ten years. The NHS are going more "One size fits all" and they already started narrowing diagnostic paradigms. People with EDS, Fibro, ME are often denied mobility aids and wheelchairs because thse are seen as self-limiting, self-managing conditions. You wouldn't need a wheelchair if you just lived within your means. The human body equivalent of being told there's no need to put your phone on Stamina/Battery Saving mode to use your phone properly for longer, just turn your internet off all day, keep your phone dim and only use it once a day to do the fewest of tasks. That means a person has the choice between a crappy medical aid from Boots or Shop Mobility which might not be suitable for their needs and will wear down or break quicker because of misuse, or pay through the nose for a more sturdy and often times nicer looking mobility aid from a private OT company. Not only is there an expectation that something made of better material that can be used properly will last longer, but private companies also have warranties and insurance meaning if anything went wrong within the expected life time of the mobility aid, they would be expected to fix it or replace it. So no just because the NHS has cructhes or walkers doesn't mean every disabled person can get them from the NHS, or the ones they're offered are suitable for their needs.
Being disabled and chronically ill can be depressing and soul destroying. When the topic of holidays come up, people think "oh so you're too unwell to work but you can go on holiday" I don't know if they're imaging we're all going skiing or something and leaving our illnesses and disabilities in the car park of the airport to go have some wild fun we don't do in the UK, but actually what's the case for many of us, is if we're unwell all day every day, as long as we can get through the journey, why can't we be unwell and immobile in a foreign country for a change? We've got a nation wide vitamin D shortage and the NHS no longer prescribes vitamins unless you're "should be in the hospital" level of deficient, and you think keeping people stuck in their homes (in dirty unwashed clothes) will help them get better instead of maybe 3 days of warm sunshine? Even the Victorians had this one figured out, come on. (A broken clock and all of that...) The reason people are angry are because THEY don't get paid enough from their work to go on holiday, but it's not disabled people's fault that they've managed to save, it's the governments for not ensuring higher wages for people instead of gauranteeing dividends to share holders at the cost of higher wages. Disabled and chronically ill people often have small and limited lives. Going to work might be hard and terrible, especially if you have a shit job, but on the other side of thsi argument is a bunch of people who don't see anyone besides their carers or a family members for months on end, who start their day with vomiting and diorrhoea, who wake up at 11 in the morning and need to be back in bed by 8. Their autonomy is taken away from them, their privacy is taken away from them, they have to weigh up the pros of medical investigations to treat and cure them up against the risk of cancer, infections and side effects. And there's people out there who begrudge them for wanting just a small bit of change?
Have a word with yourselves.

McLaren Automotive replaced McLaren Cars in 2010. Originally founded in 1985, McLaren Cars released the iconic McLaren F1 in 1992. From 1994 to 2010, McLaren Cars was registered as a 'dormant company'. The establishment of McLaren Automotive in 2010 marked a new era, initially separate from existing McLaren entities to attract investment. However, in July 2017, the companies merged after Ron Dennis sold his shares in McLaren Automotive and McLaren Group.
McLaren's Formula One founder, Bruce McLaren, was born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1937. He developed his engineering skills at his parents' service station and workshop. By 15, he had won his first race in an Austin 7 Ulster. In 1958, Bruce McLaren moved to the UK under the 'Driver to Europe' scheme, aimed at helping Australian and New Zealand racers compete in Europe. His mentor, Jack Brabham, introduced him to Cooper Cars, a small team based in Surbiton, Surrey. McLaren started his Formula One career in 1958 and joined the team a year later. At age 22, he won the US Grand Prix, becoming the youngest Grand Prix winner at that time. He remained with Cooper for seven years, securing three more Grand Prix victories and other notable wins, including the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ford.
In 1963, Bruce McLaren founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing. A year later, the company built the first true McLaren race car, the M1, with 24 customer cars produced by Elva. Its successor, the M1B, led McLaren to dominate the Can-Am championship with 43 victories, almost three times more than Porsche. The first McLaren Formula One car, the M2B, debuted at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1965.
Bruce McLaren was also involved in designing and testing a prototype M6GT, a lightweight sports car with an estimated top speed of 165 mph and a zero to 100 mph time of eight seconds. Tragically, he died in a car accident in 1970 before the prototype could be completed.

Car Wrapping Costs in 2024: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Car wrapping has become increasingly popular in the UK, offering a fantastic way to personalise and protect your vehicle. But how much does it actually cost? Here's a breakdown of the factors that influence car wrap prices and what you can expect to pay in 2024:
Factors Affecting Car Wrap Costs
Size of the Vehicle: Larger vehicles like SUVs and vans will naturally cost more to wrap than smaller cars due to the increased material and labour required.
Type of Vinyl: Vinyl wraps come in a wide variety of colours, finishes (gloss, matte, satin, etc.), and brands, each with varying price points. Premium vinyls tend to be more expensive but offer better durability and longevity.
Complexity of Design: A simple colour change wrap will be less expensive than a complex design with intricate patterns or custom graphics.
Wrap Coverage: A full wrap covering the entire vehicle will cost more than a partial wrap covering only certain sections.
Preparation Work: If your car's paintwork requires repairs or extensive cleaning before the wrap is applied, this can add to the overall cost.
Experience and Reputation of the Installer: Highly skilled and reputable installers may charge more, but their expertise ensures a high-quality, long-lasting result.
Tumblr media
Average Car Wrap Prices in 2024 (UK)
Small Cars (e.g., Mini Cooper, Fiat 500): £1,800 - £2,500
Medium Cars (e.g., VW Golf, Ford Focus): £2,300 - £3,000
Large Cars/SUVs (e.g., Audi Q5, BMW X5): £2,800 - £4,000
Vans (e.g., VW Transporter, Ford Transit): £2,300 - £3,500+
Additional Costs to Consider
Removal of Old Wrap: If your car already has a wrap, you'll need to factor in the cost of removing it before applying a new one.
Design Costs: If you opt for a custom design, you'll need to pay for the design work in addition to the wrapping itself.
Tips for Saving on Car Wrapping Costs
Shop Around: Get quotes from multiple reputable installers to compare prices and services.
Consider a Partial Wrap: If a full wrap is out of your budget, a partial wrap can still give your car a fresh look at a lower cost.
Choose a Simpler Design: Complex designs require more time and labour, so opting for a simpler design can save you money.
Ask About Discounts: Some installers offer discounts for multiple vehicles or referrals.
Finding a Reputable Car Wrapper
It's crucial to choose a reputable and experienced installer to ensure a high-quality, long-lasting wrap. Look for installers who:
Have a portfolio of previous work
Use high-quality vinyl brands
Offer warranties on their work
Have positive customer reviews
Is Car Wrapping Worth It?
Car wrapping offers a fantastic way to personalise and protect your vehicle, making it a worthwhile investment for many car owners. While the initial cost may seem high, it's important to consider the long-term benefits in terms of paint protection, increased resale value, and the ability to express your unique style.
I hope this guide helps you navigate the world of car wrapping costs in 2024!
